A day in a Nightmare (DD; open)

"What are you on, whack-job?"

Life would return to the city. Where before there was no one there now approached a lone wanderer. He was bathed in the glow of a street lamp as was the entire avenue, in stark contrast to the dingy shadows Greed had been fixated upon. Sounds of distant traffic and sewer flow would gradually manifest. It was a normal night just like any other.

The wanderer was a set of four demons currently cohabiting a single body. Onyekachi was on patrol. Despite being nominally evil, the Kishi found himself fighting against crime instead of causing it. This due to a set of cosmic rules which prevented him from committing sin. A radical lifestyle change for the demonic brothers, and they weren't adapting well. Incidents like this made it difficult to not simply lash out.

Coulda run me over. That grounds enough to kick the s'word outta this freak?

Eh. Probably not. Don't look too stable though. Bet we can bait him.

Nuh-uh. Guys, look.

Kishi had a sixth sense unknown to humans. He knew by instinct that Greed was evil. Furthermore he sighted an oppressive aura surrounding the boy and naturally assumed it belonged to the same person. This led to the opinion he had encountered a force of unassailable wickedness. Onyekachi may actively seek violence but he wasn't suicidal. This was a rare case where discretion was the better part of instigation.

It was best that he left now before the fiend did anything to force the Kishi to oppose him, "Y'know what. Forget about it."

A wary eye had gradually tampered off the object of Onyekachi's dismay. He was trapped between the inclination to observe the man or look away. The former risked challenging someone that Kishi felt was more trouble than he was after. The latter left him ignorant of whether that decision was too late made. The moment Greed left his peripheral vision a guttural roar shook the brothers to their very core. Three of them darn near jumped out of the fourth one's skin. The creature had chosen its moment well.

They were aware the sound had not come from Greed but Kishi had not the time to recover his wits to make sense of events. A loud bang was preceded by the hum of a projectile passing his ear. This was accompanied by the same noises in rapid successful. Onyekachi hit the deck. It wasn't an entirely intended reaction. The bullet in his leg just made it easier to lie down. The street lamp also lapsed into darkness under Greed's onslaught.

Ahhhhhhh! Ugh! What's up with that crazy fuc-

No swearing!

All three brothers promptly told Adriano what they thought of his advice which earned the Kishi an ache in the old noggin to add to his troubles. The stranger had stopped firing now. Kishi was leaning on the side that would allow him to watch the bar steward's indistinct outline. They witnessed the emergence of a creature with terrible claws and soulless eyes. When Creepypasta let concrete fly it was a quick third hand from out Onyekachi's back which caught the piece that would have brained him; his other two currently preoccupied cradling his bad leg.

Onyekachi had a moment of clarity. It was obvious who the creature was after. It was obvious that it had the power to turn any man into a stain on the sidewalk. It was also acknowledged that Creeps was not the one who had harmed Kishi. Onyekachi had no desire to help Greed. He'd cheer the nightmare on and all power to him. Except Greed was clearly in need. And Kishi was required to help those in need. With a headache already in the offing, failing to help Greed could be tantamount to suicide for Kishi. The curse would kill him.

Well what do you suggest!? We can't touch that creature until it harms us back.

Improvise!

Onyekachi couldn't harm creepypasta. But at this point Greed was fair game. The piece of rubble was cast back from whence it came, intent to strike Greed across his midsection and throw him out the way of a brace of claws set to tear him asunder. You're welcome.

What was that!?

I panicked!

We're bad at this.

Well if we're yelling at each other we didn't kill him, at least.

On reflection that slab of concrete had almost certainly incapacitated the gunslinger long enough for nightmare fuel to finish the job. Oh well. The important thing here was the Kishi had tried to help. It may have been a s'word attempt, but his good intentions were more important than the result. The curse would not punish him for this and he wasn't required to physically strain himself in trying to take down some monster. All in all this worked out perfectly.

The masked man got back up and took off running. Onyekachi groaned.

Blood was pouring out his bullet wound. Fortunately the demon had three other people in side of him to draw direct transfusions from. Onyekachi used a patch of flesh from one of his brothers to plug the hole. This still left his right leg weak with possible muscle damage. All of the clan now sported his same wound. Which is why it was a left leg that sprouted from his body to take up the slack. Kishi literally had two left feet. The pursuit was awkward, but the pair ahead of him had stopped some half-way down.

More rubble rained out. Lifting a rancid old mattress, the demon was able to deflect such debris but not make any more progress. There was a further complication. The gunslinger had decided to fight back and now appeared to have the upper hand. Whatever that shrieking monstrosity was, there was no evidence to say he could live through bullets. White-hair was shooting to kill.

Which meant Kishi had to stop him. Fan-f'wording-tastic.

Not it.

Not it.

Not- crud!

Waiting for a lull in the rock shower, Onyekachi dropped the mattress and lifted his shirt. Another Kishi tumbled out, this one taking the alias of Adriano and clad in shorts alone. Onyekachi lifted their brother by one arm and one leg before moving into a spin. On the second pass, Onyekachi released their brother, stumbling as they did onto the ground. Adriano flew through the air with the grace of a rag doll before crashing in similar fashion into the topmost rung of the fire escape.

The demon caught himself. A moment more and he had pulled himself over onto the platform.

It appeared the gunslinger hadn't seen him, "Now we gotta save both of them? This is total bull..." Adriano proceeded to use his enhanced strength to aid the weakening of the structure. It was with his assistance that the fire escape finally fell, "This won't be fun." He felt like that cartoon coyote. Adriano landed heavily somewhere in the wreckage that followed. Bullets might wound him, but falling wouldn't.
