The Thread

An opportunity was all Bernardo needed. He hadn't just arrived. The fourth Kishi brother had been watching the battle from afar. Seeing the initial damage this avenger was unleashing he thought it wise to hang back and see what he was given to work with. And Onyekachi gave Bernardo everything he was after. The lone demon my have been outclassed in speed and power but he had the advantage of knowing that. Meanwhile, Kane was not yet appraised of every one of Kishi's abilities.

In the second of pause Bernardo activated an ability known as aftershock. Onyekachi had punched Kane in the leg previously. Benardo could now will the repercussions of that attack to replay, effectively causing a second impact in that exact same spot. This would be enough to at least throw his adversary off balance, askew his aim.

With that second moment of respite, Bernardo charged in under his enemy's defences and grabbed at his brothers. As if they had struck water, the body of the other three Kishi (those still attached to Kane's leg) disappeared inside Bernardo. Only the jowled hand biting into Kane remained outside Bernardo, henceforth his third arm.

Now the counterattack. Bernardo knew he would lose in a tug of war, but only if his opponent fought back. Another aftershock took effect. This aftershock mirrored the impact the Kishis had made against Kane's head. With his wits temporarily stunned, the demons would try to swing this hero powerfully into the wall. If Kane got up after that, then screw this match.

Kane's moment of hesitation cost him a chance of victory, he could have ended the fight right there with that kick, but fate would not allow it, neither would the set of bloody jaws sinking into his leg for that matter. Instead of being smacked into the wall, Bernando used some kind of power to redirect the kick so that he instead kicked nothing but air. He then used the opportunity to run past Kane and absorb his comerades.

For a second, Kane was relieved, the stupid jaws were finally go- oh wait, nevermind, the pain in his leg informed him that the jaw remained. Kane cursed loudly, and then felt a blow to the side of his head, even though his foe had not moved, Kane had only a second to be confused, because then he was grabbed and swung towards the wall.

Luckily for Kane, Bernando was not the only one who had other powers his foe was not aware of, he had an ace in the hole; his mastery over the air. Kane kicked off against the air with all his strength, acting against the swing, he slowed it down enough so that when he hit the wall, it just hurt alot, rather than turning his nerves to jelly. Kane then lashed out with his free leg, hoping to catch Bernando in the face and maybe send him flying.
