We would like to remind everyone that unlike typical writers you need to also be aware of your fellow roleplayer while in threads.

Keeping this in mind, I have compiled a short list of edicate everyone should display while in threads:

#1 Dropping Out/Lag - If you are joining an "open" thread, please do not do so and then lose interest or muse and stop replying altogether -- Or only once or twice a week. (Preferably once a day or two at most is what's necessary without reason)

These stories could be important for some roleplayers characters and they were gracious enough to make the thread open it for you to join. Joining someone's thread is like signing a contract that you will give them your full writing potential and nothing less. We strive for excellency here. If a roleplayer joins multiple threads and is only usually replying enough to finish 20% of them that roleplayer may be cited for punishment. If you're going to join threads, BE COMMITTED. There's always something you can write even if it's just a few words.

#2 Mary Sues - Everyone wants their character to be the star, the center of attention, and the main villain or hero. Typical traits of these types of characters are taking charge, doing things their way, and/or never being out right bested or fully belittled. While these are admirable and commendable traits. Keep in mind that your character is part of a community. Not the center of that community.

This site has no main character and your character is not going to be better than most or even half of everyone else's on a consistent basis (taking hits, getting embarrassed, scared, shocked, emasculated) All of these should be a probability unless stated otherwise on your applications personality section. Furthermore, all can be humbling and tools to help develop characters. They do not make your character seem weak or flawed. If your partaking in a storyline or one on one fight taking a blow, or two, or three, or dare I say even four can be generous to your fellow roleplayer and returning the favor would also be a kind gesture.

#3 Surpassing limits - We all get in situations where we get stuck. However, throwing away your applications limitations is not the answer. Sometimes your character might get mortally wounded or an outside interference will be required to save them. In the world of fiction all these are possibilities in dire situations, but breaking the rules set upon you just to save face is not acceptable. Please keep that 20 ton bench press close to 20 tons and same goes for speed, energy levels, magic power, etc.

#4 Communication is key - Many times people will complain that their character does not get the credit for an innate ability that they deserve. This is usually due to lack of communication. Sometimes people may not be aware that your character can dodge bullets, or that they can't look away from your character when making eye contact. Stating things like this to other roleplayers before threads, in a personal message, or giving a good descriptions of things that are expected to come to fruition in the next post or so can save a lot of misunderstandings.

#5 Omniscient intervention - If you read someones application and you know their powers and/or history. Unless your character is all-knowing or is familiar with another character they are interacting with, we please ask that you pretend you know nothing about them when roleplaying that your character couldn't figure out for themselves with a first glance. This keeps things fair and fun.

EX: Of course no one is ever gonna get caught in a trance if the person who made that character announced that entrancing was one of their abilities. You will be tempted to have them not give eye contact possibly to avoid this outcome. We ask that you not. Again, this does not degrade or put your character at a true disadvantage they would not have already had if you didn't know outside of the roleplay. The RPG is supposed to be fair to all. Strong men should be able to lift, witches should be able to speak to cast their spells, and wings need to be used to fly.

#6 Never-ending story - This roleplay site is one HUGE on-going storyline. So we ask that you try to keep the flow of it as much as possible. This means don't just up and jump 5 years into the future in a random thread without an anomaly taking place to do so. The rest of the site has not aged their characters, and similar actions are not acceptable.

Additionally, if you join a thread and you see it has a goal already stated. Please do not try to derail it for just your character if you know the other roleplayer had something in mind. Thus if the thread is about defeating robbers, rescuing the girl, and escaping refrain from having aliens show up and just blowing up the entire hideout. Ruining other's plots isn't very polite.

#7 Go with the flow - Yes, this is almost a direct contradiction of rule 6. However, we do realize it's not fun to just conform or do what's expected. On the contrary, that makes for dull and repetitive writing. If someone is keeping to the flow of your storyline, but they decide to punch your character in the face rather than follow orders. Please react in character, NOT OUT OF CHARACTER. Harsh punishment will be dealt out to those who attack other roleplayers for their character's behavior in any manner. These are not real occurrences and thus real backlash is not warranted. If a roleplayer is caught even off-site bullying others for things that occurred in roleplays here bans may be incited.

#8 Badgering - Please do not go onto people's facebooks, skypes, or any other social media to bug them about posting in your thread. Lives are private off this site. If you're friends in real life or have each other's numbers, by all means be free to do and say what you want. However, constantly texting or pestering anyone on the daily basis can lead to tension in roleplay and in the chatbox. We ask that you keep your roleplay notifications on here.
