Look out! (Kard)

It was downtown Jump city, around noon. Alien troops descended on the town, silent as a statue, deadly as a plaque, they were cloaked so that no one could see them. Their mission: To kill as much of the pests that stopped the first invasion force, those so called Meta-humans and anyone who possessed powers over a normal human. They stole through the night and one of them spotted a homeless man lighting a fire with his mind to keep himself warm, they dropped down on him and broke his neck before he even felt their hands on his neck. They then sought out more victims.

Unfortunately for Annie, this happen to be a night she was out visiting a friend. She was on her way back home, with Kasha riding in her front pocket, when they noticed something wasn't right... The two could feel the minds of several people, like soldiers or assassins. They were dangerous, their intent was to kill, they weren't far away. Annie looked over to the general area of where she felt they were, but didn't see them. They must have been hidden. Regardless, she and Kasha could very sense the danger, and immediately turned to run from them as quickly as possible.

The assassins looked down at their prey and stalked after her, abandoning their cloaks as they chased her, as soon as one of them almost reached her, they noticed another threat and quickly backflipped out of the way of the attack he sent that would have finished him off if it had hit. They all looked at the boy, he was muscled and he had blonde hair, his name was Metamorphi and he had been at the first attack, repelling the invasion. He was to be treated with priority because of this and they all forgot about the girl and charged at the man.

Annie ran as hard as she could from the Zydon forces, and as they came closer Kasha put up a shield to protect her. But just before one of them reached her, he suddenly changed his course of action as someone else entered the scene. Annie looked to him, and recognizing the fact that they took priority over him. Taking advantage of the situation, she ran as fast as she could away from the area. But she wouldn't leave the man behind to face them alone... Kasha would soon be back as soon as Annie was safely out of harms way.

Metamorphi ducked under a kick and returned the favour to the Zydon's crotch, then cartwheeled out of the way of another, striking a third in the face while his legs were in the air and landing perfectly so that he avoided a third attack. He couldn't do this forever though, he would eventually lose without help, he was hit on the stomach but he turned into steel at the last second so that it did nothing but hurt the Zydon's fist, he threw a punch at the Zydon but he had slowed down now and the Zydon dodged his fist, returning with attacks of his own that did nothing. The Zydons all jumped back and ran, turning on their cloaks as they did so now Metamorphi couldn't see them, he backed up against the wall so he couldn't be attacked from behind and waited for them to come at him.

While the battle raged between Meta and the Zydon forces, Annie had made her way to a dark, quiet alley. They could sense that there was no-one else anywhere nearby here, and figured this was a good place for Annie to hide. She quickly ran to a nearby dumpster, sitting down and curling up against it and the wall it sat against. Kasha quickly hopped out of her pocket, changed from kitten to wolf form, and turned around to look at her. She looked back, breathing heavily from the fear and running. The two said nothing out loud, but in their minds were talking about what to do now. In short, Kasha asked her if she could use that new spell he'd been trying to teach her. She thought back, ("I....I can try...") Kasha listened, put his head against hers, and helped her concentrate. She gripped his fur and closed her eyes, and soon her figure started to grow darker. In just a few seconds her appearance changed to that of a shadow. The spell she had cast absorbed all incoming light, making her appear featureless and black as night itself, as well as absorbing any sound she made such as her breathing. Of course this also made her essentially deaf, but with her telepathic abilities she could sense a threat coming even without that.

With Annie now safely hidden and tucked away, Kasha turned around to now go and deal with the initial threat. He sped off back in the direction of the fight, searching for the feeling of the people that had attacked Annie. As he neared Meta's location, he sensed that the Zydon had backed off after a moment of fighting with the boy. They were invisible, but Kasha could sense them and knew they were preparing for another attack. But before they were ready, Kasha closed in on their location. As soon as two Zydons noticed him approaching, he shot a small, but intense, shot of magical energy at one of them. The shot hit him just above the hip and burst on impact, setting it aflame. Before he could recover, Kasha had gotten close enough to leap at him and did so, clamping his jaws down on his shoulder with force that could break bones, and would if he didn't have sufficient armor to protect him.

The Zydon that Kasha attacked took the hit without making a sound and collapsed unconscious onto the ground, it was admirable that he didn't cry out in pain as it must have been painful. Metamorphi looked to the wolf, it could sense where the Zydon's where somehow. Some of the Zydons ran at Kasha while the others slowly approached Meta, he felt hands on his neck, trying to break it and he reversed the hold so that the Zydon was flipped into the wall. The Zydons closed in and attacked him while his arms were raised, he felt the blows and sharply brought his arms down, catching two of them on the head and knocking them to the floor.

After downing that first Zydon, Kasha was soon attacked by two more. One of them drew a sword, and Kasha shot an energy blast at him at the same time that the sword came slicing down on his back. The Zydon stumbled back from the impact of the blast that left a palm sized gash in his chest plate down to his skin. The sword fell to the ground, and Kasha didn't seem to be hurt by the attack at all, in fact any wounds had closed over and vanished. He didn't have time to react though before he was kicked by the other Zydon into the wall. It took Kasha a moment to get up, and once he did, Kasha looked to the Zydon and took a moment to get a feel for them. He noticed one of the cloaked Zydon going for the boy, and started charging for another energy blast. But before he released it, he shifted from wolf form to panther form, and let loose a much more powerful blast at the Zydon. The impact of the blast sent the Zydon flying back against a wall, and he became visible again, knocked out cold.

Metamorphi kept on the move, not giving the Zydons a chance to group up and take him down, he turned into paper and spun, he felt something block his blow so he grabbed onto the arms of the blocker and flipped him, he turned into steel and while the invisible Zydon was in midair he punched it in the stomach, making it land on the ground painfully and it didn't move.

As they continued to battle, Kasha took note of the fact that as long as this meta-human boy could FIND a Zydon, he had no trouble fighting it. With this in mind Kasha made an effort to fire energy blasts at each of the Zydon in an attempt to give away their locations. They were good at dodging, but not enough to avoid the shots every single time. Perhaps they relied too much on that invisibility of theirs? Kasha targeted the Zydons closest to him and meta, making it hard to get close to either of them at this point without getting shot. To save energy he fired numerous medium strength blasts at each Zydon, again, in an attempt to give away their location.
