Jacob Walters

Jake Jake

===IDENTITY===

Full Name: Jacob Walters
Nickname(s): Jake
Codename: None currently
Alias(es): Jake
Age: 19
Classification: Metahuman
Affiliation: Lawful Evil

===PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION===

Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Rich purple
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 145
Other Traits:

===POWERS===

Powers:

Soulfire constructs: Jake is able to make a unique kind of construct (limited to only weapons like daggers, swords, bows and arrows, throwing knives, darts, maces, and similar weapons) that acts partly physical and intangible.  The constructs themselves are black, and give off a strange, purple flame.  The constructs are light and have some sense of mass and weight; however if enough force is applied between then and an object, then rather then break or bend they start to phase through it.  They will resists this though, and the constructs are usually limited as to how far they can go into an object.  The resistance these constructs show toward the object they phase through is independent of the density of the object.  For example, sticking a dagger construct into a brick wall would only be as hard as if it were made of blast gelatin; but sticking it in a wall of Styrofoam would be just as hard.  His largest construct is a large sword as tall as he is.

  -Phantom pain: These constructs have another unique ability to inflict pain on people that they come in contact with.  Basically...being hit/slashed/stabbed with any soulfire construct will feel like you were injured with a normal weapon; even though the construct will phase through before it actually does any damage.  In other words, being stabbed in the leg with a soulfire dagger will feel like you were stabbed with a normal dagger; but when removed wouldn't leave behind any physical damage even though you would still feel pain from it.  In other words being hit by a soulfire weapon will feel like you were hit by a normal weapon; but deal no permanent damage.  The person will even feel the after effects of it.  For example being hit with a soulfire mace will leave a strange, black and purple 'bruise'; but it will go away much quicker than a normal one.  (About 10 times as fast; faster if Jake decides to remove most of the strange energy left behind that causes this.)

  -Ghost flame: The purple flame that the constructs give off also feel to people like a regular flame, but deals no damage at all and doesn't even produce heat.  This flame is like an energy that Jake can charge up his constructs with, and can release it into any person whom his constructs phase into; though he can chose not to release it into the person and just hold it back or let it disperse.  A fully charged soulfire arrow, when it hits a person, can release enough of the energy to set a sizable chunk of the person on fire with the purple flame for the rest of their next post, and fade away after that.

Soulfire essence: This is a passive defense that protects Jake from being damaged permanently.  In short; what Jake's soulfire weapons do to normal people, normal damage does to him.  So if he is shot with a gun for example, he will feel pain as any normal person would, but rather then getting a hole in his body and start to bleed the area will just leave behind a strange black and purple spot.  The bullet can be dug out with some moderate effort and the 'injury' will fully recover in a day or two.  Jake cannot remove these injuries from himself like he can remove soulfire injuries from other people.  This also increases his immunity to poison and disease tenfold, and in short can heal from anything with no permanent damage to himself as long as he is not killed by it and has time to recover.

  -Eternal youth: Jake will stop aging when he hits 23 years old or so; and could potentially live forever if he is not killed by something other than time.

Skills:

Skilled with various weapons: Jake has practiced using his weapons quite a bit to the point where he is very skilled with a bow and arrow, various throwing weapons, and a sword; but trained himself using his constructs and would be less of an expert using a real weapon.

Observant: Jake has learned to spot out small details and read people based on how they behave.

Weaknesses:

Vitals:  Jake would be lucky to survive a serious hit to the brain or heart, and could easily die if he is hit either place very much or very deeply.

Aluminum:  For some reason, Jake's constructs will not phase through aluminum, and his constructs will stop, bend, and/or break when they hit the metal.  Also an aluminum object will cause damage to him as if he were a normal person, getting past the soulfire essence.

Children:  Despite his usual nature; Jake cannot cause or watch the death or suffering of those who least deserve it, and still have a clear conscience about it.

Equipment:  A lighter and cigarettes.  A flip-out pocket knife.  A motorcycle helmet (and a motorcycle to go with it of course).

===PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE===

Personality:  Jake is usually a very calm and collected personality, and is the kind of person to keep a low profile whenever possible in order to stay under the radar of the police and/or Titans.  He isn't usually surprised by, or take a great interest in many things.  However, when he DOES take an interest in something, he will weigh his options before trying to acquire it.  He has a taste for the finer things in life, and makes most of his money robbing drug dealers and other similar criminals to get what he wants.  He is very good at keeping calm in tough or dangerous situations.  He takes time to plot out his course of action, and in any given situation will favor whatever outcome benefits him most.

Strengths:

Calm.  Methodical.  Good at keeping secrets.

Interests/Habits:

Going out to eat.  Music.  Smoking.  An occasional manga.  Practice using his powers; either in private, or by taking out frustration on someone.

===PERSONAL BACKGROUND===

Family Members: Parents (disowned)
Place of Origin: Jump city.
History:

Jake lived a pretty bitter early life.  At school, Jake was regularly getting into trouble with bullies and such.  They'd pick on him and beat him up, he would get back at them via some clever trick or something, and the process would repeat.  His parents weren't supportive and for the most part weren't very involved in his life; except to scold him if he got in trouble or bad grades.  In short this left him bitter toward everything; his parents, his classmates, his teachers; everyone.  He was constantly seeking to get back at the people he had made enemies with, and when at home he spent a lot of his time in isolation in his room.

Then things took a sudden turn when Jake discovered his powers.  He first noticed them after a fight; when he inspected his injuries after a fight and found that his bruising didn't look normal, and cleared up by the next day.  Soon afterward he discovered his construct powers, and started to experiment with them; all the while keeping his abilities a secret.  He continued to practice making various weapons out of his constructs and practice using them till he had gotten pretty good with them.  The first full-out test with them was to get back good at a group after a rough encounter.  Hiding his face under a tinted motorcycle helmet he slashed, stabbed, shot, pummeled, and burned each of them to the point that they passed out from the beating.  Afterwards he removed the evidence by absorbing the soulfire injuries, and left with the satisfaction of finally getting them in the way he'd always wanted to.

Jake continued to keep his powers a secret, until the day his parents ticked him off one too many times.  In the midst of a heated fight between them, Jake snapped.  He shot them both with his bow and arrow constructs and tormented them into unconsciousness.  He then took whatever money he could get, stole his dad's bike, and left them to find a new life, in a new city, without them in it.

He chose jump city.

Yes. However...getting hit there could cause enough stress on the heart to send him into cardiac arrest or something and possibly kill him. Same with the brain; getting hit there could cause enough stress on it to cause a seizure, also something he could die from. This also means that other people can experience the same thing if Jake hits them in those places with his constructs.

Yeah, but characters aren't allowed to kill without permission, and it would have to be an already deadly hit on him to do said serious damage. Along with that, if hits are blunt and throw him, wouldn't bones still break?...and why wouldn't knives and stuff do anything if they actually stab him?

Not to mention he has a helmet and a bullet proof vest.

What's the largest thing he can make?

And its a bit overpowered for his arrows to do the equivalent of setting someone on fire if there's no way to block them or even parry. The same with his other weapons.

I already said that Jake's soulfire essence make him to normal objects what his constructs are to normal people. So no, it wouldn't break his bones. It would phase through them some (with a good amount of resistance of course) and cause pain as if they were broken, as well leaving a black and purple spot that would look something like what the injury normally would.

The largest thing he can make is a sword that's as tall as he is.

The time limit is already set at one minute of being on fire. If you like, I can limit it so it only lights up a general area on the person on fire rather than all of them. Of course if the person is shot more it will light up those areas too, and if he stabs a person he can channel the power into them at a steady rate making the area gradually grow.

There are potential continuity errors with that method.
And I was more talking about other people, not objects. You also say that he can be killed, but given your power, if everything is effected that way, there wouldn't be any way to kill him...unless he just up and dies.

I also want to be sure you never use this as a phasing power for his body regularly.

and does his power mean that all items would hurt him the same amount?

The time limit would have to be much less, debilitating a character when they don't know of any such danger ahead of time would be allowed to last one post.

And for him to be accepted he can't have both his durability then items that directly counteract his weakness of the head and chest.
His helmet and bullet proof vest would need to go.

His size of creations is fine, but in total no more than that sword should ever be created by him.

Jake can be killed from very strong poison, or getting hit deeply in the heart or brain.  The constructs tend to evenly distribute force so they still feel the knock-back, but rarely does anything get damaged from them; let alone break a bone.

Of course not.  He can't deliberately phase through something.  He can't even phase through something very much at all and if he does it hurts him.  His body is very resistant to it, just like a normal person's body is resistant to damage.

No.  Getting hit with different things in different areas would hurt him just like normal as far as pain.  It just wouldn't leave permanent damage and heals relatively quickly if it's not aluminum or doesn't kill him.

That sounds fair.  Having it affect only a section of them, and making it last for the post that they are hit and having it fade away during the next post seams reasonable.  Of course if they are hit again with a fresh arrow/still being stabbed with a weapon in Jake's hands then it will be extended due to getting hit again/still being hit.

I'm fine with ditching the vest; but the helmet just makes sense.  He's got a bike, and motorcycle helmets aren't exactly hard to come by

I don't plan on making anything bigger than that sword, no.

...you need to actually remove the vest from your app and change everything you said you'd change.

Also, his trait of being innocence doesn't really make sense. He tortured his parents to unconsciousness for being bad parents, without any evidence of them being abusive in your history. Not to mention he's a villain.

He can keep the helmet, you should be warned that he isn't going to have an easy time beating anyone, he'll probably have a very very hard time, even against human opponents. He can't block any attack and his head/chest are standard targets.

Keep in mind not to ninja dodge just to cover up your weaknesses.
