Training Day (Part 2): The Obstacle Course

In the simulation room, a few members of the Team have assembled for an obstacle course challenge mode that was discovered on the Titan's mainframe.

"Alright Titans, I hope you guys are ready. Last time we tried this, we had mortar shells firde at us haha"

Nightmare would just stand there with his hands in his pockets. "Whatever, lets just get this over with"

Cheshire would signal to the boys (Sage, Nightmare, and Psychosis) that she was ready to begin the course whenever they were. She'd just put it on a simple setting - no enemies, just obstacles JaK had told her.

Sage would then give the thumbs up and within a few seconds the terrain would change. The inside of the room would turn into a large swamp like jungle, so realistic in nature that muck and mud stuck to his shoes.

"Sweet, see you at the finish line bro!"

That being said, Sage would begin his free running, heading down a path not covered up by so many bushes and high grass. As well a not being blocked off by, trees and rocks.

Heh, have fun running in the mud.
Psychosis lifts up into the air, and zooms after Jak without the worry of getting caught in mud.

A nerve would pop up on JaK's forehead as Psychosis passed him up and then a look of pure shock when Nightmare does the same. David leaping over his brothers head and then hopping along rocks on the path as he made his way down it.

"What was that you were saying JaK?"

Nightmare would smirk back at his brother after saying this, but he may have celebrated too onn. For right after making the ground would give way and he would plunge down into a spike pit, where David would be impaled by a variety of spear like bamboo.

"AH crap!"

"Haha, sorry Dav. It looks like you just have some seriously bad...luck....uhoh!"

As Sage leaped over the pit and started walking backwards, while still taunting David. He would suddenly hear a growl, as he turned around a black panther would arise out of a nearby bush and bare it's fangs at Sage.

"Darn, this is gonna slow me down a bit. Here kitty kitty."

As JaK said this he would break the branch off a tree and then absorb it's properties becoming a wooden man.

Will hears the fight Jak has with the panther and sees it in Jak's mind, but doesn't stop. Will flies above the branches and trees when he sees several shadows appear above him. He turns to look up at 5 falcons flying down at him. He flips over them in time to dodge the extra large sky predators, but they turn around quickly for a second assault.

Back at the spike pit, Nightmare finally manages to climb all the way out of it. The holes in his hide closing up in matter of seconds as he does this.

"Jeez, well that throughly sucked! Hopefully, the rest of this thing will be easier.."

But no sooner does Nightmare say this, does he step on a trip wire. Soon a loud rumbling can be heard and as the teen looked back his eyes would widen! For a large wrecking ball like boulder could be seen mowing down the trees in the forest as it headed down the path right for him.

"SH%!#"

Meanwhile, further a long the path; The Panther from before is sent flying into the top of a tree, where it clings onto a branch for a moment and then pounces down. Sick of fighting with JaK, the feline decides to run back into the forest. The Titans East leader standing tall and still composed of wood, but with scratches all over himself.

"That's right, you better run!"

Sage would then take a deep breath and disperse his wooden appearence just as Nightmare would come bolting past him, not saying a word.

"Whoa, he sure is taking this seriously!?!"

But, soon Sage would realize the real reasons for the spring in David's step as the masive boudler came into view and the boy would follow his brother's lead. Running as fast as he could down the path as well. Each of them using their free running abilites to hop, leap and roll over any obstacles in their way.

Cheshire looked at the boys hop over boulders and swing from vines. She shook her head and raised up her mask to take another good look at the scene. "Now this just won't do; this is way too easy. Let's set the finish line back another fifty yards..." Cheshire said as she pushed up on a mixer tab, "and press these buttons to see what happens," she finished while pushing in four buttons. Turns out she changed the setting from Brazilian rain forest to Late Cretaceous jungle. She watched the five falcons coming at Will turn into Pterodactyls and heard a roar off in the background. "That's better."

As Nightmare and Sage would run through the forest, suddenly the scenery would change to plants neither of them recognized and the boulder turned into a large T-Rex instead.

"Crud, Dav tar pits up ahead were trapped!"

"Actually, no were not. Hold on and hope this works."

As they reached the edge of the tar pits, Sage leaped onto Nightmare's back and then the firey brother would point his palms towards the ground before blowing out two flamethrowers; which hoist them up and over the tar pits as the chasing T-Rex would run across after them and get stuck in the sticky pool of death.

"Whoa, since when could you do this?"

"Since I just tried it 2 seconds ago."

O.O What the f**k!!?!

Psychosis creates a shield orb in his hand and throws it at the deadly creatures. Two of the beasts slam into a white wall, but the other three fly around the magical construct and furiously peck at Will's body, but are met with another spell sending them 30 yards away.

As Sage and Nightmare landed just a mere couple of yards from the finish line, they would look at eachother and smile; before dashing towards it in a foot race, each of them playfully elbowing eachother to get there first. When all of a sudden, they are cut off by 3 raptors come out of nowhere and block their path.

"No problem, I'll sizzle these few up and serve em for dinner."

"Uh David...You might wanna keep it down, I don't think they're friends are gonna like that." Suspect

As if they were being stalked from the moment they landed, more raptors would pop up from behind the jungle scenery and circle the two brothers...Their talons and bare fangs showing, as drool dripped from their long snake like tongues.

"I hope you have your rabies shot."

"Ah, shut up and fight!"

JaK would chuckle at his joke as he absorbed a prehistoric stone from the scenery, while Nightmare showed no sign of amusement from the comment and instead fired a wave of fire at the original 3 dinosaurs; causing them to scatter. Meanwhile, a few others would charge in at the brothers, using their strong hind legs to leap into the air at what they perceived to be lunch, but Sage was ready for them. Tossing a large stone at one in mid air and knocking it down, before dodging a snap from another one and then spinning around, nailing it with an enhanced strength back-fist. Finally being tackled down by the last attacking Raptor, but before it can take a bite out of the hero. Nightmare would grab it by the tail and lunge it off his brother, then torches the beast with a fireball causing it to squeal out in pain. It's clan begins to attack it, seeing that the dino is fatally injured and can be their snack before the main course. The rest, however, decided to group around the Sage brothers again. This time they sought of a pattern of attack instead of rushing in wildly, seeing as the prey could defend itself.

Staring down their prey, the pack of predators screech as they all pounce and charge at the two metahumans. One of the Raptors lands on Jak, taking him down with it's weight. With Jak pinned down, he watches the beast stare him in the eyes. Almost carrying an evil grin, it lunges at Jak's neck. Right as the animal clenches it's teeth on Jak's throat, it becomes frozen in place and turns it's skin turns into zeros and ones before breaking down and disappearing from sight, along with the ground around him and the other velociraptors. Hearing the sound of panting, Jak look over at the finish line to see Will with scratch and peck marks all over himself and hunched over trying to catch his breath.

Pterydactyals. I'm glad there gone. hah.

Nightmare would walk past JaK and Will heading toward the exit, he had a large chunck of flesh missing from the side of his abdomen where a raptor had taken a bite; revealing his ribcage...Now that had to sting.
