It was almost midnight. Her attire consisted of a nice pair of jeans, flip flops, a pink tank top, and a hoodie that concealed her pink hair but not her vibrant purple eyes. She had been in this city for a month now and had already had so many... interesting... things happen. Tonight was supposed to just be a night to chill and think over her journey thus far. Everything seems to happen so quickly and Bow needed a while to slow things down and concentrate on nothing.

As she swung on the swings, her mind drifted on many different subjects of the past month, but never crossed over into the time before her move to Jump. That contained far too much and yet too little at the same time. She stared up at the stars and smiled, picking out every constellation she could find. It was her new found hobby, the stars, the swings, the singing. She giggled as she looked around, making sure no one else was here before she started singing different disney songs from the movies she had watched this past month. Mulan being her favorite, but also Snow White, Cinderella, and The Little Mermaid.

When she started singing "I'll Make A Man Out Of You" she thought she heard something, but chose to ignore it and kept singing her little heart out. The song came to life as she sang, making it her own by adding runs, messing with the tempo, anything she could think of. By the time she was through, she was almost going all the around the swing set and laughed loudly, joyfully. She jumped from the very top and floated back down to Earth like a feather, her hair flying out of the hoodie, but she didn't mind because she didn't think anyone was there. She had taken off her flip flops when she swung and now went back to get them, facing away from a shadowy figure that got closer. She had no idea.

"Make a man out of me...Interesting concept?" A voice would chime up form above Bow, oddly enough, directly where she had been before jumping down. "Since you seem to be an expert on the subject let me ask you this..." The figure was of a man; a tall lanky person with snow white hair and a headband covering his eye left eye, along with his mouth shielded by a mask. His demeanor was knelt over and perched from his vantage point, while his viewable eye seemed to have a laxness about it, although his speech seemed alert in tone. "Is it wrong for a MAN to attack a defenseless woman? Evolution shows that to improve, one must be first placed in a situation so dire it promotes growth, but with the idea that women need to be coddled, they will remain weak while the males succeed in society." Creed then reached into his pack and took out a syringe. He had a mission to carry out, and she was definitely a meta-human. "..Which path is the better the two evils?" He said, leaping down in front of the young girl and landing with ease, arms swinging with no form or manner. However, that syringe and now the needle attached to it were still concealed...He needed..a blood sample.

Bow had come to this place seeking relaxation, and Crow came seeking blood from a metahuman. Of the third soul in the area, even he did not know why he had come to find himself in the park. Was it a rare moment of peace? A longing for what he'd lost? Or perhaps he'd simply been looking for a place to sleep? He'd chuckled inwardly at the thought of him actually sleeping. No, that wasn't going to happen.

He'd been alone, lost in whatever passes for his thoughts when he heard someone singing. On some whim, he'd gone to investigate, hidden perfectly in the shadows. He watched as a young woman sang to herself on a swing. His eyes narrowed. There was nothing for him here. He was about to leave when something caught his eye: another figure, a stealthy one, likely on par with his own skill. In fact, he doubted he'd have spotted the other figure if it weren't for his own abilities. He stayed. This looked like it could be interesting.

Crow watched Bow as Zack watched them both. Bow continued to sing, oblivious to either. Zack's eyes narrowed as Bow floated to the ground. That wasn't human. Had she escaped? Was she one of them? Perhaps that was why the other figure stalked her? Or it could be a trap. His grin twitched at the thought. He ghosted forward. The best way to know if it was a trap was to spring it, but he had to do so on his own terms: The girl obviously had abilities no ordinary human had, and the stealthy one was likely skilled in cqc - why else would he bother getting so close?

Zack continued his advance as Crow revealed himself to Bow, and his grin widened slightly as he saw the man take something from his pack, though he couldn't tell what it was in the darkness. A part of his mind focused on it, obsessed over it. What was it? What wasn't it? It wasn't a puppy. What was it? It was small... What wasn't it? It wasn't a gun, at least not the conventional sort. What was it? It was hidden. What needed to be hidden? What didn't need to be hidden? Was it a syringe? Did the man intend to knock her out? Perhaps he was an agent, perhaps she escaped? Or was it meant for him? Was it a knife? That seemed odd, why hide a knife? The man's words were threatening, so he wasn't feigning friendliness, so hiding a knife was pointless. He pushed his thoughts to a corner of his mind, their endless gibbering distracting him from the main point. Whatever it was, it was a safe assumption that it was a weapon, and he intended to exploit the weapon's weakness. The same weakness every weapon had: it's user.

Zack's grin twitched again. He could hear them in the back of his head clawing, scratching, biting, screaming to get out. Until he was certain of the situation, he'd have to treat it like it was until it certainly wasn't. For that, he'd need Terry's methodical approach. He drew his Glock, the pistol making no sound as he did so, unlike anyone who needed a holster. He focused his attention on his target, approaching more swiftly now, but with just as little sound. He approached the potential agent from behind, at a 30 degree angle from straight behind both to keep out of his peripheral vision and to keep a missed shot from hitting the potential defenseless escapee. And of course if she turned out to be an enemy, it would be an easy feat to switch to her form this angle. Though if she was an escapee, she was far from defenseless, unless her defenses were useless in combat. Not important right now. That would sort itself out in time.

He stopped ten feet away. Too many idiots made the mistake of getting close enough to place the barrel to someone's skull. They might as well hand the gun over and shoot themselves while they were at it. A gun was just as lethal from one foot as it was from twenty. So long as you hit your target. Perhaps that was why they did it? They couldn't aim? Zack pushed the thought away before it could explode into billions of theories and rabbit holes.

On an opp, Zack would simply shoot the potential operative in the back of the head without a word, but he couldn't resist making a joke. Then there was Terry. He wanted to resolve this without fighting. Zack very much doubted that would happen. In fact, he planned on making sure it didn't.

"You're off the subject, Doc. If you wanted to make a man out of her you'd need a more sterile environment. Less pointless questions and more pointy things." His voice carried a high pitched tinge of hysteria, as if he was struggling not to laugh. His eyes widened and his head tilted to one side as he sized up both Crow and Bow. "Sadly Doc, I'll have to stop you." His voice darkened into a more serious tone as he continued. "I don't think you've ever been to medical school."

As the voice rang down to her, Bow's head snapped up in surprise, but not an ounce of fear. She actually smiled as she looked up at him and nodded. "Indeed it is! I love the song because of the message it gives..." *giggle* He then called her an expert in the subject which mad Bow furrow her eyebrows slightly in confusion. His stance would make most anybody feel wary; however, Bow was not most anybody. She looked him up and down and only saw the epic hair with one eye and wondered what might have happened to the other. When he spoke again her smile started to fade and she took a step back. His words confused her and she tried to just pretend he was being hypothetical, but something told her that wasn't the case. As he jumped down in front of her, Bow was taken off guard and tried to step back but wound up falling down on her butt. She looked up at him, just slightly scared and spoke softly, still trying to be kind. "Neither-" She stood up slowly, still speaking. "A woman can be just as strong as a man if she puts her heart to it, just as the movie of Mulan expresses. We are not all defenseless." As she said that, she readied herself, still praying that this wouldn't lead to violence, but his words and tone made her think differently.

Just as she was about to speak again, she saw another man in the shadows and she sighed, whispering to herself. "All I wanted was a night to myself... Is that so hard to ask!" Thinking the other man was on the same side as the white haired guy, she took another step back, but then he began talking. His voice was a little off putting but more so alluring to her, which was off even to herself. The words he spoke instantly made Bow think there was something wrong with him, but that just made her want to get to know him more, after this situation was cleared. When his voice became darker she blinked. This whole thing was very confusing. She wasn't sure who was after whom and why either would be after her. So, hopefully as they were being distracted with each other, Bow started to back up slowly. Trying to make as little noise as possible, though it was nowhere near the stealth level either of them had and she kept cracking twigs.

Creed peered back over his shoulder with a slight motion, his lazy eye keenly focused on the newcomer for a brief moment before his pupil darted back to he girl who was making a break for it. The annoyance of it all. These kind of missions never boded well, because it required him to come out into the open rather than assassinate from the shadows. Regardless. This other young man would have to be dealt with. He was able to sneak up on Crow after all, however, there were unanswered questions still. Creed had cased the area before compromising this attack, which means this guy wasn't guarding her, he had just arrived. Could it be possible that this meeting was arranged or was he a random passerby?

"Ah, you would be correct in your assumption, and by your choice of words I can tell you're perceptive." Creed shows the syringe in his palm, but keeps it close to his pack. He had seen the firearm in his palm and from this distance, Creed would die if he attempted to strike at this one first. "So can I ask you the same question I did her? Her answer and her actions don't coincide as you can see. She's running, but told me women could be strong. I'm guessing she's not counting herself, even though she's a Meta-human. But you...You're a different story; protecting others? With your skills you could be in my position, yet you're putting yourself at risk right now for the sake of another. Other than the usual moral answers people spout, I'll ask you, why are you doing this?" His answer was inconsequential, for just before finishing his response Creed sliced open his pack with the needle of the syringe and all his ninjatools spilt out onto the floor, causing the smoke bombs to go off. The cloud of smoke immersed him in a white fog immediately impairing Zack's vision. However, from inside the haze a red glow could be seen flickering for just a moment, Creed would need to use it if he intended to catch that girl before she could fly away.

As Creed spoke, Zack considered shooting him in the face. But that would be too easy... And Terry wouldn't want it. So he merely listened. Why WAS he here? To spring a trap? To save some random girl? Boredom? To fight? To find someone who could make the screams stop? Because he couldn't sleep? All of the above? Perhaps, however his reasons were irrelevant and distracting now. With Creed's skill he could be in Creed's position... "Who says I'm not, Doc?" He was unable to resist the bubble of mad laughter that forced itself from his throat. "Why am I doing this? I already told you: I can't allow you to make her a man without having been to medical school!" This time his laughter shook his body, hysterical and twisted. "Malpractice..." He added between bouts of laughter as he slowly regained control. "Is a very serious matter, you know!"

His grin widened as Creed ripped his pack open and smoke filled the air. However it seemed that in his escape, Creed also had ditched his tools, not to mention destroying their carrying case. Sloppy. Foolish. Litterbug. Interesting. Zack popped his neck as the pressure in his mind built, the screams in his skull trying to get out, to gain control, to drown him out. He forced them down with no small effort. He focused on Terry's voice, using it as a beacon to guide him through the maelstrom.

Creed either fled the scene or was chasing down Bow. Either way, he needed to get to Bow: if she was an escapee, she wouldn't last long. If she was an agent, he'd make sure she didn't last long. Though his vision was obscured as of now he'd watched her as well as Creed beforehand, his angle of approach having afforded him the luxury of easily doing so. She would likely run straight away rather than curve off. So he jogged through the smoke in the same direction, keeping his Glock at the ready in a two handed grip and dropping his knife in the smoke as he did so - a surprise for the ambush Creed would likely pull. One that was easily retrieved if no ambush came. Zack doubted Creed or Bow knew that he had a knife as well as his guns, as he kept it on the back of his waistline, under his jacket.

Despite the seemingly foolhardy charge into the smoke, Zack was alert and cautious, as whatever he'd seen disappearing in the haze didn't look like anything ordinary. Creed was definitely as dangerous as a L.A.W. agent, though whether or not he was one had yet to be determined. He could have hid his recognition, especially with a chunk of his face covered as it was. Either way, he merited more caution than Zack's already normally high level.

PostSubject: Re: Isn't this a kid's place!? (Silent, Sic)   Isn't this a kid's place!? (Silent, Sic) Icon_minitimeTue Aug 20, 2013 10:19 pm

When the two men began to speak to each other, Bow continuously backed away while keeping her eyes on the two. She wasn't sure what was going on but it seemed that the one with the creepy grin was on her side? Even that wasn't conclusive though. It could just be that he wants to kill, maim, mug her himself. How was she to know? Her breath became shaky as Creed asked him why he was doing what he was doing. Apparently he was under the idea that Zack was protecting her, as he stated, but Bow still wasn't positive of that.

She couldn't help but wonder if this city was always like this. Were there always meta's that just roamed the streets in the wee hours of the morning just looking for a fight? Turn on any news station or read any paper and there's at least one story about a super powered extravaganza, whether good or bad. Actually, now that she thought about it, the man that was supposedly saving her, his face seemed familiar. She had seen his face before. Was he a good guy? She knew he had killed people. But wasn't there always some sort of reason? As she thought about it, images and words started flooding her mind, but then, everything went blurry for some reason.

It would seem that she hadn't been paying as much attention as she previously thought. When she looked back up, there was a white fog that covered the entire landscape of the park. She went wide eyed and started to panic, not being able to decipher who it was that made it fog like this. Being severely afraid, she wasn't able to fly away. So all she could do was run. Run as fast as her legs could take her away from this situation. Everything started to spin around her and she couldn't tell what direction she was going. Luckily she kept herself in a straight line, but concentrating on that, she lost speed fast, not very fast to begin with. It wouldn't take long for either of them to catch up with her and she had no idea which one she wanted it to be, if either.

PostSubject: Re: Isn't this a kid's place!? (Silent, Sic)   Isn't this a kid's place!? (Silent, Sic) Icon_minitimeSat Aug 31, 2013 8:14 pm

A knife dropped into the smoke where the red glow had blossomed, but disappeared without sound of impact from the blade. Creed's sharingan was in effect, however, with this fog it wouldn't be much use until his enemy saw it. Additionally, it didn't grant him any special visionary power, such as night vision or infrared, so he was just as blind. However, when the blade landed, the sound did echo so the assassin could hear it. He knew Zack was still within 10 feet of that vicinity. Therefore, he could either assault in that direction or pursue the target.

This would be a tricky decision; he hadn't been paid to capture, kill, nor did he intend to fight Zack. The target could escape during the battle and this individual was someone who was able to sneak up on him. However, to give chase to her and ignore him could prove fatal without full knowledge of the newcomer's abilities. The ninja spun the syringe in his palm and placed it in his jacket pocket as he contemplated his next course of action. Currently half of The Crow's arsenal had been spilt, which meant if he was caught off guard by this adversary that used firearms, he would be at a severe disadvantage. "I guess I have no choice." Creed said out loud from within the hidden smoke as he pulled a scroll from his jacket pocket and bit his finger, then unrolled it and placed the scroll on the ground while performing hand seals. "I'm sorry it had to come to this friend. I would've much rather fought you for stakes instead of in a crossfire over an aloof female, but I guess I can't get paid in full for every job." Creed used voice mimicry to throw his vocals, as not to give away his own position within the smoke cloud yet.

As he finished the handseals, Scarecrow began to glow with a bright blue wavy aura all over his body. His left eye also began to brim brightly with a ruby red hue again, as he activated his powers. "Water Style: Aquatic Dragon Jutsu!" Suddenly the aura sprang to life and took form as a rushing wave with a serpents head, then weaved it's way toward the area he had originally heard the knife drop near. He spread the attack wide to cover the area, but just in case he also placed one hand on the summoning scroll for precaution while guiding the attack with the other hand. He had to hurry, the girl might get too far for him to catch up to her if he dawdled after this attack.

Where did she go? Where did the other one go? Zack scanned the fog for any sign of either Bow or Creed. Creed's voice came from the mist, though it sounded impossibly distant. Either he could move far faster than any human or he was throwing his voice. Doing so relied more on visual misdirection in order to fool others into thinking the sound was coming from a target area. However the act of constricting one's throat and blocking that same passage with the tongue in order to muffle one's voice and make it sound distant was very taxing on both the throat and abdomen. That Creed could keep it up for his speech meant he either had a lot of practice or had quite a bit of endurance. Either way, while it was rare for Zack to be on the receiving end of such tactics, he was not stranger to them.

Where is he? Zack's mind raced as he continued his advance, his boots padding along in the soft grass. Where would I hide? Zack spared a glance behind him. Where would HE hide? Then Creed started glowing.

Zack spotted the ethereal light in the corner of his eye and whirled around to face it. If he could take Creed out before he hit him them he didn't have to dodge. As he spun he dropped to one knee, his Glock already aimed. He squeezed the trigger thrice before a roar approaching. Less than five seconds had passed and he didn't have much time. He dove to one side as his combat knife flew to him, though in the fog such a small object would likely be unnoticed.

With a twinge of irritation, Zack noticed that several of Creed's discarded items had come with it. Laying flat facedown with his items beneath him, he focused his mind and became magnetically clamped to the ground, using the sewers and pipes below him as an anchor. He landed and filled his lungs with air just in time, and the force of the water nearly tore him free. He slowly staggered to his feet after it passed. Water? I was expecting something worse... Still, that makes him an elemental. Cheater. Whether he only had access to water or not Zack did not know, but he now had an idea of what he was up against.

He spared a glance at the bits of Creed's equipment that had come with his now hidden knife: he was mildly curious as to what metallic bits the man made use of, assessing what could be used as a nasty surprise.

(OOC: I apologize if this is short... She's... Running... >. >)

Bow continued to run away from both of them. Unfortunately for her, because of the immense fog that had fallen on them all, she was running deeper into the forest rather than towards the exit of the park. When she heard the voice she froze. It sounded like it was coming from all around her, or at least closer to her than he had been last she checked. Her breathing became sporadic and she turned around to look for him, and then he called out some kind of attack it seemed. She saw the bright blue glow of his aura and went wide eyed, having no idea what way he was facing. Or who he was.

Then the water seemed to form a serpent and was headed towards the other one, whom she assumed was the one talking about mal-practice earlier. She bit her lip in thought and calmed down just enough to try and pull the water back to the other one, only able to slow it down by a minute difference. She sighed, still no good. She went wide eyed, realizing that she had stopped and turned around, but then had the terrifying discovery. She didn't know which way to go anymore. Her heart almost stopped but then she looked up. Climbing seemed to be her only option.

Climbing the nearest tree, she went as fast as she could and tried to hide as best as was physically possible, now looking down at the two. They were only a short jog away, but she couldn't see them clear enough still to know which way to run. If she ran the wrong way she could very easily run herself into the corner of a large field. It was her best choice to hide and hope they would just not look for her. She still didn't know if she trusted the one that seemingly came to her rescue.
