Sometimes variety is your own worst enemy though. A lot of decks are short and sweet basically, they have lower cards so you can get what you need and contain what's really necessary for your strategy so you can win. I try pretty hard to keep the decks at 40 and it's tempting all the time to add more, but I remember what I'm going for and stick close to it.

If your looking to play the game just for fun there's no issue with more cards, if there was the rules would be every deck must be exactly 40 cards. If you aim to play competitively the lowest number of cards are ideal.

It isn't too hard. Some simple black and blue combo that forces your opponent to mill(the blue) and discard(the black) thrown in with Howling Mines artifact can be pretty deadly. Simple defense would be some Cancels, Dispells, Doomblades, and anything else that you can cast cheaply and instantly to keep the field clean. Man, I love control...

Yes, I like a 40 card limit, and my side deck, and my 15 card extra deck.

I run Photons, and I don't want to leak my deck list :P

I read somewhere that each card added to deck above number 40 makes it 3% more inconsistent. It is the reason people stick to short decks. The threat of running out of cards in deck is not very present at the moment, since a lot of decks nowadays benefit from having monsters milled, thus making the strategy counterproductive.

I have a fire deck and it`s awesome, even though I have like 59 cards. I have kicked the asses of many people with this above minimum deck and do you know why? Multiple strategies people! That`s how you win with a higher deck!!! Mulltiple strategies!! If you have more than one strategie you don`t have to worry about not getting the right card for a strategie because you have so many strategies that you probably only have to wait 1-3 turns to get the right card!

I'd like to test that claim and play against you, Pika ^_^
