Vermillion (Shadowwalker)

Four months prior

When the Department of Metahuman Affairs fell apart in Jump City, Kuro had been instructed to keep the facilities guarded until the hardware could be properly disposed of. Perhaps Waller and the rest of the Department had been aware that they could be the target of some theft. When Hades Corp came, they caught Kuro off guard and were able to incapacitate him easily. Seeing records of his skills and the techniques the Department was employing to keep Suzaku dormant, they decided to try and reformat this soldier for their own uses. While a government lapdog would be nice, that didn't fit their agenda.

Two weeks in, they were ready to continue their brainwashing. Due to the personality of Kuro being undesirable, they would have to break that down first. And for the most part, they were successful. However, this area was unfamiliar to them. It was only because the process used to break down the personality of Kuro was so bizarre that there was any risk involved. He had just happened to be brainwashed in such a way that only this method of reformatting could work.

Perhaps he should be grateful.

Kuro woke and looked around the room with his pitch black eyes. The attendant stood before him. "What is your name, soldier?" Kuro remained gazing at the floor with a blank expression. A dozen memories flashing before his eyes. Only silence came from Kuro as he looked at everyone in the room. He had been trained to withstand torture, but there was something... missing. Everything was compartmentalized before, but now, it was as if his mind was in... an open room. And memories he didn't have before were flooding. "Damn it all to hell, we followed every instruction. Go through them again." Someone in the surveillance room, hidden from observation, began reading through the book they had. "We don't understand either, sir. He should be responsive. We went through every step." The conversation would carry on before a word was heard that no one had spoken.

". . . Suzaku." It was so quiet that the men stopped speaking. Barely audible. It made them listen, as they looked to Kuro.

"What did you say?"

Kuro straightened up and looked directly at the attendant. "Watashi wa... I am Uchiha..." and then, suddenly, his head snapped to look directly at the man in the observation room. "Suzaku." And his eyes were now glowing red, with an insignia of some sort of sun emblazoned onto his irises.

"Sir, how can he see us...?" they questioned.

Suzaku was restrained with chains that held his arms out towards the walls. This was viewed to be safe because he had no abilities that would make a problem for them with his arms restrained like this. But there was one ability that he hadn't displayed. That he had forgotten. An ability that he remembered now. The attendant opened his mouth to call out for the assistants to sedate him, but a loud sound of a metal chain falling to the floor would be heard as his shackles were broken by an impressive force. Invisible for the moment.

"He's loose! Call the troops!"

Suzaku suddenly clasped his hands together, standing. Still toned from his daily regimen to keep his body in shape. And his fingers formed hand seals in lightning-fast succession before he held up two fingers with one hand and held them to his mouth. A giant red, skeletal arm of energy did the same, mirroring his movements above him. "Katon: Gōka Mekkyaku!" A deadlier version of his fireball was produced, making a sea of flames that he had poured much of his chakra into. He released a stream of fire the incinerated the attendant in front of him, and it burned so hot and so quickly that as it rushed against the opposing wall, it was only stopped for a mere moment before the blaze crushed it and burned all the researchers in the observation room alive. Along with the book. The blaze continued and carried on through the facility as it burned.

Suzaku turned as the red arm would dissipate, and pick up his gear from a side table, brandishing his katana and throwing on the bullet resistant cloak. He didn't clasp it as he wasn't fond of it, but he knew he would need it as he walked out through the blaze. His glowing red eyes a menacing feature to behold.

As the fire raged throughout the facility it shorted out a number of grids holding various dangerous prototypes and holding cell sounds of gunfire screams and wet tearing sounds echoed threw the facility. If this was hell then Whatever that fire did cause all hell to break loose monsters of wiring and flesh bodies writhed and moaned in agony as they tore into their creators. near the end of the five guards were cut down by orbs of red glowing heat before their lifeforce was drained from their body as a creature standing 6 feet tall wearing urban camo pants and a pistol holster on his thigh walked over checking the now-dead guards. "okay 2C this way stick with me and we will get to safety."

a girl with pale skin and blackened eyes followed behind the creation of a man she looked no more than five years old. as she moved to fallow the creature she gasps and points towards the man brandishing a  katana causing the creature to push her behind him. "I promised 1F that id looks after you stick close." Looking towards the man red tendrils of pure red energy enveloped his arms as two red glowing orbs swelled around each hand.

Suzaku continued walking through the building. At the moment he was clear of hostiles. That could easily change, but he began setting up the rigging of the cables. He hadn't used this technology before he went under... but it could be useful for him to escape. In order to keep a proper vantage point and take anyone converging on him off guard, he flipped into the air and began walking on the ceiling instead. The smoke wasn't bad in this area yet, and he just wanted time to set up the gear.

A flesh and metal monstrosity came out when he was finishing up. It released an ungodly sound on the sight of him and began heading towards him. Suzaku jumped down, holding the blade in its sheath, and then fired the blade out at high velocity from the mechanism, cleaving the creature in two. He kicked its upper half into a column of flame and then continued pacing.

He came upon a man guiding a girl through the facility. He tilted his head, holding his blade at the ready. But if Wraith didn't attack him, he would turn and begin walking for the exit. He wanted to leave this unholy place and let it burn to the ground. "Stay out of my way."

Wraith nodded to the Stranger. as another squad of security personnel made their way to the group Wraith would extend both hands unleashing 40 energy shots melting threw the soldiers armor and bodies bbqing them within their armor.

"if you plan on bringing this place down before you get out. the bio fuel area is a good place to start that would cause the most damage to these guys. we will stay out of your way, I'm going to see if I cant break out anymore prisinors before we get out of here. Good luck soldier." feeling a tug on his pantleg wraith looked down to the girl hes guiding out of here as she points up. "right, Hey soldier also fair to warn you every facility has a eldrich horrow in the floor above us if your series about sticking around be carful that thing dosnt get you..."

Suzaku listened to Wraith speak, hearing a language he had never studied or heard before, but understood it perfectly. And had been speaking to him fluently in that very same language. He had faint memories of being in places that he didn't recognize, doing... horrible things. Walking around like a puppet. He clutched his head and swayed gently, catching himself and staying balanced. He wasn't mentally stable. He needed to leave. He needed time to think. it felt like he had just woken up. But he was so exhausted already.

Even though he didn't know where they would keep the biofuel, he received a pretty strong indication from his knowledge. It was... strange. As if he were thinking with two minds instead of one. If he burned their fuel, the facility would burn brighter. He was sure it was not their only one. But he would destroy it nonetheless.

"My name is... Suzaku." The way he said it, he seemed almost unsure of it. "I do not plan on staying long... but I will burn this place to the ground. If this eldritch horror stands in my way, it will burn too." With that, he turned for the biofuel area. Dispatching any other creatures with his sword, unless some presented difficulty.

Wraith would nod to the young man as he lead the girl in his care to the vehicle bay. "we will keep the vehicals warm for when you get done if you want a ride out of here...Good luck Susaku." Wraith said before leading the girl to the vehicals as the pillars of flame got brighter in the small blacksite the evacuation alarms blaring the sounds of fighting and screams as others tried to escape the horrors of the facility but the guards shooting them down a women in her mid 20's was running down the hall in a similar uniform to Wraiths minus the guns clearly another project fear in her eyes as she consistently turned to look over her shoulder.

"please you have to help me I don't want to di-" the words were lost in her throat as several impacts from a subsonic weapon ripped into her as she fell lifeless to the ground a emotionless man in a rigid desert camo uniform stepped forward crimson plating lineing the underside of his uniform as he turned his head to look at Suzaku. stadning there silently as the fire raged around them and the monsterous sounds of the beast upstairs made itself heard. His weapon at the low ready a small wrist mounted device blinked every so often as it released a cold blue liquid into the mans arm. the lettering on his uniform stated 001-A. popping out the mag to his weapon and disgarding it on top of the womens body he pulled his knife off his vest holding it in the low ready before saying lowly. "only human." before extending his other hand motioning for Suzaku to come at him.

Suzaku listened to the words that Wraith said, but would not turn around to respond to them. Even before being brainwashed, he was mission-oriented. Soon later on his onslaught, he encountered a woman running down the corridor at him who was soon gunned down by another abomination. No motion was visible on Suzaku's face. None that had not been present prior to the murder, that is. It was quiet after, save for the beast howling above, and Suzaku's steps. His pace had not been interrupted by the senseless murder, either.

It would seem that Suzaku wasn't even concerned about the man who was clearly provoking him, because he would continue to pace straight past him unless interrupted. "I'm more than enough." As soon as the man would make any hostile movements for Suzaku, the giant red arm of Susano'o would form, to punch for him with impressive strength, while the ribcage formed around Suzaku to protect him. As he was protected by the ribcage, Suzaku sheathed the blade. He adjusted for the man's position as the ribcage and arm disappeared, and then sped forward suddenly, firing the mechanism in the sheath to rocket the blade out for a grisly draw cut, aiming to cleave the man in half from hip to shoulder.

The man would lash out as Suzaku tried to walk past him however as he brought his knife for a slash the ribcage materialized before he was punched by a materialized arm. causing him to drop the knife as he's pushed threw a wall from the force. raising to his feet to and getting his barrings he activated his wired reflexes as several jolts of electricity hit key points of his body to doge down and to the side just enough that his arm would get caught in the attack. However due to his dermal plating and rigid armor slowing the blade down it only broke the skin before stopping against the metallic structure of the dermal plating. 001-A remained emotionless as he used the blade stuck in his arm as leverage to pull Sazaku closer to himself as he unholstered his pistol to fire into Suzaku's legs.

"More than enough at being ineffective," 001-A responded without showing any expression. thinking ahead of himself if his target would try to take advantage of the close quarters as well hed seperate and make his way twords his blade.

He observed the man with his Sharingan as he attempted to dodge, his sword catching on the man's arm. The other abominations hadn't given much difficulty yet, so he hadn't been enhancing his sword. A mistake he would soon right. He continued observing him, hearing him deliver a pretty good one-liner as he reached for his firearm. "Hn." Kuro's side of the memories knew what this was, and so as soon as he pulled the weapon out, Suzaku leaned back and would deftly kick for the gun to either get it out of his hand or knock it away. Meanwhile, the hand still holding the sword would make a hand seal while still holding it. "If you are as good at fighting as you are quipping-" without skipping a beat, Suzaku would snap another kick towards the cyborg's face.

But that was the minimal concern. Before the kick would have a chance to connect, an electric aura surrounded Suzaku as he activated Chidori, a current running through the blade, and oscillating it at high frequencies. This meant two concerns that 001-A would have to contend with. A strong electrical current locking up his joints, and possibly disabling his hardware altogether if his creators hadn't anticipated this kind of thing; and second, with the applied pressure on the sword and the oscillating blade, it would begin carving through his flesh and dermal layers like a chainsaw. "-Then this might take twice as long as I thought it would."

001-A wouldn't look as his weapon was kicked out of his hand as the kick was sent towards his face however the high voltage of the electricity sent threw his body did two things one most likely intended by his enemy and one most likely not intended. the blade made its way threw his arm cutting cleanly threw however due to fueling the nanobots with new amounts of power in the arm they began healing the entire injury quickly as if god himself overclocked them rolling with the kick he backflipped backward before sending a kick of his own into the side of Suzaku's head.

"Thank you for the power boost, I'll make sure not to let it go to waste." he said grabbing his knife off the ground his arm giving off a cool blue smoke from where the wound was being replaced with a scar. "dont feel too bad Soldier, Its been a long time since ive had a challenge your a great fighter and im honored to have this moment to fight you."

Suzaku wasn't made of bricks. When the kick was delivered to his face, he was surprised. He saw it coming but could do little to react to it, and so was moved by the kick. He didn't get bodied by it, but he did get quite a sturdy kick to the side of the head with a grunt. The idea of this conglomeration of machinery and flesh was new to him. He steadied, looking sideways at his foe as he watched him heal. Kuro identified this as nanotechnology, and although machinery was new to him, he was able to recognize from the words and what had happened that he shouldn't try and electrocute it.

He remained standing where he was for the moment. He had used over half of his chakra reserves already, and so he would absorb as much chakra as he could from his surroundings before making another move. "I am not a soldier. I am a shinobi. And I refuse to be this facility's puppet. Or anyone else's." He weaved some hand seals, before gathering his chakra. "I will burn this facility to the ground. And if you stand in my way, you'll burn too."

001-A chuckled for once showing the slightest bit of emotion his mind picking up on a rough translation from his human years. "right because lighting this whole place ablaze and carving a path of destruction really screams those who act in stealth, if burning this place to the ground is your path I won't stop you, hell believe it or not your doing this company a favor I was sent here by the company to do the same and clean house guess I mistook you as their security force, don't get in my way as I finish cleaning up and ill forget I saw you."

Retrieving his sidearm off the ground it was his turn to walk past Suzaku. "keep in mind soldier Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you."

Suzaku listened to the man speak- if what he was speaking to could really be called a man at all- about how what he was doing was actually helping the company that ran the place. Of course, it was a company. The fact that there was a facility at all usually meant that there was more to be found throughout the world. He didn't respond to the remark about stealth. After all, he had already been in the compound, and they already knew that he was here. There was hardly any opportunity to use stealth.

He returned his blade to its sheath as the man walked past him. Making no hostile movements for the moment. "The abyss suits those like me. I anticipate our paths will cross once more." He looked over his shoulder to watch the soldier walk away. "When we do, I'll show you." With that said, he continued onward to the biofuel area. Would he really do something about this company? He still needed so much time to think. But if he reached the area without issue, he would set the fuel ablaze without a second thought, and then make his way back to the exit to leave.

lighting a smoke as Suzaku speaks to him he turns his head shutting off his com system and removing his headset reveling a empty hole and skull bones
"If my life were not a dangerous, painful experiment, if I did not constantly skirt the abyss and feel the void under my feet, my life would have no meaning."

taking a puff from the smoke as he removed it from his lips his wrist device beeping red from his actions as he stands there looking down. letting the cig between his fingers burn and crisp up in the fire of the room  

"if the time comes where we do cross paths again let us both hope you can kill me....Do you know the difference between monsters and murderers? Murderers are normal people fear abolished from them but regretful of the actions they took in life. monsters are those who never regret their actions as the cast a thousand murders to do their bidding because they are too afraid to die. And that's the most frightening thing about them.”  tossing the Smoke away from himself  he gives the warrior before him one last glance


"your a good man and a great warrior don't dive down the abyss to far and end up like me, enjoy the life you live." with his smile fading and he put back on his headset as a new flow of blue liquid flowed threw the wrist piece dumbing his emotions as he turned his back and turned his comms back on and walked away "The code to get to the bio fuel is 1988."

He listened as the man further spoke. Prattling on about realizations he had come to that gave his life meaning. He spoke of murderers and monsters, and how they differed in ideology. In Suzaku's experience, he had found nothing to be so black and white. And the man likely wanted him to pick between the two options he had put before him. But if he was seeking an answer, Suzaku did not provide him with one. He simply continued to the biofuel area with the code the man gave him and used it on the input pad to open the door.

When he saw the biofuel, he inhaled, and then breathed a giant fireball into the room, setting all of the fuel on fire.

With that, he turned to the exit to leave. The monster would be consumed in flames eventually. He had no worries that it would live. Even if it did, he could deal with it later with a calm and cool mind. He was considering the offer that the man he had met earlier in the facility, walking with the little girl, had made him... but perhaps it would be better if he left alone. He didn't know what his intentions were. Never the less, he would look for him as he left the building.
