Your princess has a new castle

Slymon was... definitely not looking forward to this. Why had he agreed to it again? Why had he allowed himself to allow this to happen? A lot had changed in a surprisingly short amount of time- not everything, he was still him... but enough had changed. One could delude themselves into saying that he was on the road to becoming a semi-functioning member of society... except that'd just be silly. He didn't owe this city anything and it didn't owe him anything either... yet. Maybe part of it was that he felt like he owed her something with how they now technically shared a decent living space together. A fact a benefactor of hers was quick to point out had not been for him. You'd think he'd be quite on edge since then, and you'd be partly right. A lot had changed for him and it was quite overwhelming for him.

But he had gotten attached to Rose, and this is what she wanted... so he'd tolerate this for as long as he could. It was when got closer to their destination, that Slymon became more aware of another source of magic. This had been one of the few sources he had detected while exploring the city, this one was the second one he had sensed without investigating. When they arrived, he couldn't help but look toward the source. He was as always in his disguise, not wanting to draw attention to himself. Rose and presumably this demon friend of hers either were unusually lucky, or this world just had demons casually walking around as if nothing was odd or different.

But when he walked in after her, he discovered something which made that last though more plausible, as he spotted Sol the owner of the bar. His surprise at this made him lag abit more behind Rose, leaving her to go greet Ally as Slymon and Sol caught sight of each other. It was an awkward stare for a few reasons. The first reason was that through his thermal vision, Sol saw that Slymon's body didn't create much heat, and only passively absorbed heat from his surrounding with one small exception that seemed to be mostly in his chest. The second reason was that when this first happened, Ally stopped by to see if Rose had stopped by because she hadn't come home yet. It had been awhile since he had heard Ally sound rattled, and she may have fooled Daniella into not worrying, but Sol had been... skeptical.

Shortly after that, Ally told them that apparently she had been staying with a new friend. Which was a huge relief for Ally who took to it completely. Sol didn't have any reason to doubt it if the message came directly from Rose, assuming it hadn't been some kind of trick. But here she was now, with someone he hadn't seen before now. So the second reason was that there was just something odd about how Rose 'vanished' without a trace for a few days, and then dropped Ally a message finally to let her know that she was fine, and now here she was again.

The third reason... he couldn't put his finger on it right now. It was just an instinctually gut feeling that there was just something about this guy that made him naturally apprehensive.

Slymon's reasoning for it was more obvious. There was a Fire Spirit running a bar... what kind of city was this?

Ally to make a long story shorter, had better days. When Rose first didn't come back home, she naturally came here to see if she had stopped by. Then per Sol's suggestion, she checked that Little Nightmare place- but she had been no where to be found. So at that point she started to worry and went to the police to see what they could do about it. Then Rose had magicked her a note while she tried to distract herself at work, and she was much more releived. This made sense enough to her, Rose was a very sweet and well behaved; who wouldn't get along with her? But that didn't completely dispell the dread she had originally thought, because someone could take advantage of her!

Then while she was at work again, she got another message telling her that she wanted her to meet her new friend... and asked that they not kill each other. That was a strange request, and Ally had totally just accepted the fact Rose had met a new friend to stay with. Her initial issue was that there was someone else hogging Rosie! But she was more than eager to meet back up with Rose. So she sat at one of the corner booths in anticipation, keeping herself preoccupied with drinks and snacks while she looked up everytime someone came inside. She actually smelled Rose before she got in, and was already halfway across the bar where she picked Rose up in a hug. "Rosie! I've missed you so much! I was so worried when you didn't come home... and I missed waking up to you laying next to me," Ally almost gushed, just overwhelmed to be able to physically touch her again.

Then she smelled something else, there was... a strange aroma coming from the guy she walked in with. Very strange smelling but she couldn't put her finger on it- And yes, she more or less just in the middle of the bar just more or less admitted that they slept together... in the same bed. This only made a few people look up, most of them used to seeing Ally here being... Ally. The only two people that really reacted were both Sol and Slymon, their eyes wide at the statement with embarrassment by proxy. "So this is the guy you've been staying with? He's kinda cute~" Ally said referring to Slymon who had to double check that she was referring to him. Ally giggled at his confusion, setting Rose back down as he walked over to them.

"Yes, well... so you're the friend she spoke of," Slymon said actually having a look at her. He was... much more uncomfortable now. She was... big; in more ways than one as her chest actually sat ontop of Rose's head. Didn't she have back problems? Slymon's staring was pretty obvious, but it was purely surprise rather than anything else. Also, why was she dressed like that? Denim shorts, and a halter top?

"Yep! Oh! Let's go sit down before Sol yells at us~" Ally said totally fine with his percieved oggling, smiling at Sol teasingly before leading them all back to where she had been sitting. The number of bottles on the tabled loosely implied she had been here awhile... that or she was a fast drinker.

Slymon was shook out of his stupor when Ally suggested they all sat down, casting a wary glance over at Sol who was totally watching them. Him mad? That was definitely not something he wanted to see, if he was anything like the fire spirits of his world- which was a thought he instantly tossed in the trash because thus far, this world and his world were already different as it was since he met Rose. Still, he was becoming more anxious by the minute as she sat on the other side of Rose. "Sorry to keep you waiting... have you been waiting long?" Slymon asked curiously, also realizing that Ally was... besides her hair color, completely human looking. He cast a look at Rose with mild confusion. Was she able to disguise herself? He also noted a faint magical source coming from... her chest of all places. But it was faint, he almost missed it had he not been looking at her so intently.


"Mmmm, nope! Not really, but Sol's being mean and keeping the good stuff away from me tonight," Ally replied with a pout.

"So you like drinking? What's your poison?" Slymon asked curiously, he also liked a good drink. This was starting out good, and he felt it best to establish himself as being somewhat sociable and likeable for what was sure to ruin this...

"Whiskey normally, but Vodka has a great burn going down," Ally replied finishing off her next bottle as a server came over to take their orders. Ally had already been snacking and also ordering booze so she didn't need to order anything else.

Slymon would just order one of those... vodkas Ally had mentioned once he found where the alcoholic beverages were on the menu. Then the server asked for his ID, which was... very awkward because he didn't have one, he didn't even know what that was. "I must have... left it at home by mistake," Slymon said with the look of someone who was embarrassed and becoming increasingly anxious.

"Oh, well sorry then dude. Sol's serious about that kinda stuff," the server apologized sympathetically.

"Sol let the man drink!" Ally called over to him, he promptly gave her a thumbs down and Ally resumed the pout.

So tonight was a night full of alcohol was it? Unfortunately it looked like two out of the three of them couldn't so much as even order a drink. Rose didn't have an ID either, and even if she did she probably was just under the legal limit. She really didn't blame sol for being so careful about handing out alcohol to those that didn't have it. What if a 15 year old sapeshifter came in as a wrinkly old man? Precautions had to be taken.

Rose started typing something on her phone for the first time, showing Slymon the note once she had finished. "Don't worry about Booze, the food is good enough to make up for it." It was true, Sol's had good food.

Speaking of which, Rose dug her nose back into the menu, trying to figure out what to order. So many things looked good, and she tipped the menu towards Slymon to let him see the pictures and descriptions. She was prepared for him to be amazed by modern cooking.

"Yeah! Sol's a great cook- but not everyone can handle the spicier stuff," Ally echoed Rose's sentiment as Slymon read the names of stuff and looked at the pictures. Establishments that sold food to people wasn't uncommon, but based on his limited understanding of this world, it didn't seem like this was an Inn. But it was definitely a Tavern, which this did count as. Some of the items looked so decadent... how was someone supposed to eat THAT much on a sandwich? Did people in this world eat like dwarves at a feast? Ally seemed to notice Slymon wasn't sure what to have. "If you don't mind heat and want go into a food coma, I'd recommend the jalepeno popper. But if you don't like spicy things, pretty much any of his grilled sandwiches are pretty good," Ally offered helpfully.

That did actually narrow his choices down. When was the last time he had an actual meal? He hadn't considered eating anything when he bought Rose food, not requiring an actual meal to eat. "I'll have the grilled sandwich burger with... tater tots? And a... spirit- I mean sprite" Slymon read off the name and felt silly for saying it. Tater... tots? The first thing that came to his mind was potatos.

The waitress nodded and waited for Rose to decide on something.

Slymon had been about to respond when Ally took the initiative first. "By the way, what kinda cologne is that?" Ally asked not being subtle or anything, just polite. He smelled different, and for the moment she couldn't tell if it was muddling with all the other wonderful smells of Sol's bar, or if it was just him. But she wasn't asking why he smelled funny.

"Pardon?" Slymon blinked at her.

"Well, I have a good nose, and I'm wondering what kinda cologne you're using out of curiosity," Ally clarified with another bottle of beer on the table.

Slymon finally caught onto what she was saying, he glanced at Rose for a moment in a 'I could totally just lie' look but cleared his throat. "I'm not wearing any- you sure it's me?" Slymon asked trying a different tactic to shift attention away from him.

"I started smelling it when you walked in, and I still smell it... kinda nice actually," Ally used her infallible logic that only came out when it was most inconvenient for someone else.

Slymon arched an eyebrow and relaxed alittle when she said it was kinda nice. He briefly wondered if it was part of his physiology to blame.

"So what'd Rosie say about me? Did she mention anything... specific?"" Ally smiled playfully, and anyone who knew her or at least had half a brain in their skull would be able to guess what she was referring to.

"She did say that you two were lovers- or are I guess would be more appropriate," Slymon said with the most amazing pokerface you'd ever seen. He knew what she was referring to, and whether or not she was trying to fluster him, he was not falling for the trap!

Food would soon arrive, distracting Slymon and spared him from continuing this conversation for a moment. It looked and smelled as good as it had looked.

Ally had gotten on of those jalapeno burgers she mentioned earlier, the meal she bought in bulk the first night they met... was probably a coincidence that it was her favorite thing on the menu. "Projects?" Ally repeated curiously, more curious about this 'situation' she was asking him about.

"Yes, I'm something of a scholar. Demons just happened to be one of the things I've become... familiar with," Slymon said more calmly once Rose had phrased it so well. He thought the original intent was to tell her that he had originally kidnapped her... but he wasn't going to argue with it if that's how she decided to go about it.

"Also... am I drunk or did I read that correctly- Slymon?" Ally asked drawing attention to that.

"It's something of a play on what people call me," Slymon said simply. "Not yet..." he added to Rose. Ally looked both confused and curious with what they were referring to. He used this moment to take a bite of his food, eyes widening with what could only be described as excitement. This was good food indeed!

"So you saw a cute demon girl and asked her to come with you?" Ally teased, causing Slymon to almost choke on his food if not for the fact he didn't have an esophagus.

"That wasn't my intent," Slymon replied, now mildly flustered and bothered by the insinuation.

"Well just between us, since you've spent some time with Rosie- I feel like it's only fair to let you know I'm part demon myself~" Ally said finally taking a bite out of her sandwhich.

"She did mention that... but I was under the impression you were a full one," Slymon commented, going back to his sandwhich with a side glance at Rose. Then Ally whimpered slightly and was panting after her bite of food, basically symptoms of someone eating something really spicy... and loving it. But they were just slightly too much and Slymon had the look of someone who was embarrassed just watching and hearing her.

"Sorry- this is my favorite thing on the menu, Sol always knows just how much spice to put on it for me~" Ally said panting alittle more before downing her latest bottle of beer that seemed to be drifitng over to her once in awhile from their server, collecting the other ones.

"So what do I call you?" Slymon asked simply, wondering what he just got involved with.

"Friends call me Ally, for short," Ally officially introduced herself.

This time Slymon had been in the middle of drinking his sprite when Rose showed him the note, avoiding suddenly spitting it out and instead almost choked again. These two were going to be the death of him.

Ally had a quite Ally reaction and simply giggled, finding his reaction even cuter. "So how big is he?" Ally whispered to Rose sneakily. Slymon however overheard them and looked indignantly at them. However, there wasn't a good enough lie to make it sound like that hadn't happened the way it did... because that was totally how it happened.

"Do both of you make a habit of telling complete strangers your personal details?" Slymon asked with irritation, silently seething... thank the gods this sandwhich was so good.

"Depends. I don't usually kiss and tell unless they're cool with it- but if it's just about me, I don't mind," Ally replied with a smile, completely not ashamed of her behavior, glancing at Rose patiently for her to spill the beans.

That could've meant a number of things, a number of sexy but also sweet things. Since it was Rose, it could've been the latter but she also knew Rose enough to know that could've also definitely been the other thing. "That's sweet, I think," Ally smiled warmly as she went back to her sandwhich.

Slymon was grateful she would stop talking for the moment, only for Ally to make more sounds of burning pain and pleasure from her spicy burger. "Can you please not make a scene?" Slymon asked, unaware that this was... fairly normal and again, only a few people had looked up. Really he was asking simply because it made him uncomfortable for reasons he couldn't explain right now.

"Sorry, sorry- it's a really hot burger. Usually I can handle spicy food just fine," Ally replied savoring the burn just a little longer before drinking something.

"Then why eat it if it cause you that much distress?" Slymon asked before answering his own question.

Ally gave him her own succubus smile. "Because I love how the heat makes my body feel~" Ally more or less confirmed what he had realized after asking the question, taking another bite with thankfully quieter whimpers this time.
