Shadow Raid Legends [Kyte/Ryuu]

Weaver's investment towards maintaining her own kind of information network had once again paid off. This time it was a contact she had used before, involving an armored truck that she had used as a trap for the titans- a risky gambit given that they usually worked together but it had almost paid off. It still had to a small extent with some odds and ends her men had taken from the truck. But it also gave her something to once again use as bait- that had NOT gone the way she wanted, and among several of her men getting seriously injured and being out of employment, one of her Cerberus Agents had been killed in action too. Her contact had told her that DOMA was being given support from STAR Labs, a competitor in the corporate world.

The thing DOMA managed to retrieve from the sewers had apparently belonged to them, which easily explained the lock on the container. Knowing about what could go on behind the scenes, Weaver atleast had an idea of where to begin looking for any dirt that could be used against DOMA's presence in Jump. Surely there was something that STAR Labs that was working on that violated something or other, which was being greenlit by DOMA under the pretense of civil order. Just the fact that they were in league with her enemy was more than enough incentive to target them, and a robbery would be the least of their troubles.

She wasn't going to be doing this alone, as she would've preferred. Like her, the facility was sure to have security which would get in the way of her work. If this was JUST a smash and grab, she could be in and out easily but in order to try and get DOMA out for good, she needed to get into their computers. Which she'd need time and that's why she went to some of her other associates. Getting in touch with Rapture wasn't hard with their mutual contacts, but Red X was trickier to get in touch with. As an added precaution, she managed to drag her older sister Ally along with her- as she said she'd be willing to help her out. But she managed it and now they were getting ready to make their move.

"We will split into three teams. I'll locate and hack into the facility's network, and download whatever secret projects they may be working on. The rest of you will go in first, and basically cause as much chaos as possible. If you're not punching someone's face in, take whatever they have laying around. You two will be responsible for taking out the elevator to cut off reinforcements from the surface. Then you'll either join back up with the first team or me depending on the situation," Weaver laid out her plan of action, her gaze falling on her Cerberus Agents last.

"Acknowledged," one of her Cerberus agents replied.

"So we're just supposed to keep security busy right? Only the ones shooting at us?" Ally in her mask asked for clarification.

"If ANYONE gets in your way... how you deal with it is at your discretion," Weaver replied, not caring at this point how resistance was dealt with. Her commandos would probably gun down any security that came after them but guards were a dime a dozen. "Also remember, that if it looks like a hopeless situation and you NEED an out, just say your code word and the Shadow Ninja tailing you will try to get you out through my webway before anything happens to you," Weaver added as they were about to arrive near their destination. If there was any issues, questions or anything else, now would be the time for someone to bring it up...

Red X flickered into existence behind the group. They were sporting a new suit, one that the thief had been developing. The old suit, well... that had been tucked away somewhere. Not that it mattered.

In accordance with the new suit, Red X sounded different now. As they spoke, the voice was clearly distorted with a voice modulator, that would constantly shift between male and female tones. Not anything recognizable, but it wasn't Robin's voice now. "A chance to stick it to DOMA and making a profit while doing it? How could I pass that up?" They looked over those assembled, the gaze from behind the mask momentarily lingering on their guns.

"Well, STAR Labs merch is bound to make me a buck. Or a few thousand." Red X played with some buttons on the wrist of the suit. "I won't kill for any of you. But an ass whooping? That's right up my alley."

When teaming up with Weaver, Rapture had never expected to work with the likes of Red X. She had rubbed shoulders with enough criminal scum, but this individual rubbed her in all the wrong ways. If it weren’t for their prowess in fighting the Teen Titans, she would have completely refused to work with the expert thief. Credit due where credit due, her eyes were still fixed on the masked marauder. She listened to what they had to say, rolled her amethyst eyes, and folded her arms.

The second individual seemed of greater intrigue to her. Around six feet tall, built like an Amazonian warrior with long green hair. The mask she wore bore a resemblance to the Hannya mask that Weaver had supported during their first meeting, making Rapture the only one not to don some sort of face-concealing wardrobe. With her face already plastered across town on wanted posters, the petite powerhouse figured she had nothing more to lose. After all, deals with DOMA were coming to a close –– hopefully, that is. Faith stood to be a scarce commodity these days.

Today, the yokai priestess stood in her “natural form,” ornate kimono tailored to suit a combative environment and wielding dual bladed fans as her primary weapons. Hopefully, there would be no need for her spirits today; just her own emblazoned soul and some good old-fashioned physical combat. She needed this, and so did DOMA.

Ignoring her concerns over her new teammates, she aimed to make things clear. “No killing for me, either. Any of you try and I won't hesitate to stop you.”

"I don't want to either," Ally admitted, though Weaver already knew that. It had been more for the others' benefit than Weaver's.

Hearing Rapture state that she'd try to stop them if they tried, was a minor complication. One of Weaver's Cerberus Agents turned his head to Weaver for confirmation. Nothing to be done about it. "Shoot to maim then..." Weaver answered the Ceberus Agent's silent question. With Ally, X and Rapture she didn't think she or her agents would see much action if all things went well. She wasn't planning on them going well but in the unlikely event that they did, it'd make no difference one way or the other. "Unless anyone has anything else to add- time is money," Weaver said and mentally signalled to her Shadow Ninja.

There would be one for everyone, which as she had said before would also be tailing them once they were inside to get them out if they needed to. Assuming there wasn't anything else, or protests, one by one the Shadow Ninja would pull everyone (with the exception of Weaver who can do this on her own) down into the darkness and into the intricate Webway that Weaver used to get around undetected. It wouldn't be pitch-black contrary to popular belief, giving off a soft, almost bioluminescent glow that revealed countless pathways. From a distance they would look like a series of strands stretching out in all directions, growing or receding due to any changes of light back on the surface. The Ninjas would take everyone through a few such strands, leading to a secluded enough area in the Underground Labs.

The thief's gaze fixated momentarily on the lifelike human-sized hedgehog. Rapture. She was on the thief's list, actually. She didn't appear to have anything valuable on her, at least at the moment. But this would be a great opportunity to learn about her. She actually made the point of telling Weaver and Ally straight to their faces that she would stop any attempts at killing people. This made the thief grin under the mask. That stopped them from having to say anything, but they were actually having much the same thoughts.

Their gaze moved to the Cerberus agent as it looked to Weaver for confirmation. She confirmed that they would only shoot to maim. "Right. Then without further ado," Red X phased through the wall with the shadow ninja.

As they emerged in the underground labs, Red X took a look around, scanning the vicinity for anything that might be valuable. "As much chaos as possible, huh?" Anything that looked important and expensive that was too hard to transport, Red X fired a palm laser at, making them explode. There was a slight chuckle from the thief as they did not flicker, but simply vanished into thin air.

Rapture just wanted to get on with the thing. She had been in these tunnels for too long with a group of people she didn’t know too much about. Finally, they seemed to approach the labs. Not much time was wasted before Red X got to firing at several items with an admittedly impressive laser of some sort, disintegrating the material to a vanishing point. The sight made the petite powerhouse raise her eyebrows and let out a quiet “not bad,” barely audible as not to give too much credit to the stranger. Her main concern lay with any humans that were bound to show up, and speaking of…

Already, a handful of personnel showed up with weaponry aimed at the small party. Rapture dodged a shot fired from a laser blaster, narrowly missing one of her ornamental spikes. She had gotten lazy during her time away from the fight, the last being a blitz battle with a kid called Verdant Gale. Now, she unleashed her bladed fans, rushing the opposition and effectively causing a few of STAR Labs’ security to drop their guns as she sliced the tendons in their wrists. Using one individual as a human shield, she managed to delay further bodily harm. But more staff were on their way.

Weaver and her commandos went on their own paths while the others started causing chaos. The alarms blared and the "elite" security STAR Labs employed were being mustered to probably do more to them than Weaver was allowed to do. Weaver and her Shadow Ninja bodyguard snaked their way through the webway, peeking in before finally finding a room that had a terminal. There were however some staff, and a couple guards. She and her ninja broke off, with the ninja shooting out and tackling one guard before picking him up and slamming him hard into the ground. Weaver followed suit, shooting out of the darkness and used her dark tethers to disarm and ensnare the other guard. Quickly pulling the blaster to her, she fired to knock him off his feet. Some of the staff would try to make a run for it, being cut off by The Ninja. Her ninja would quickly knock them out one by one, dragging all the rooms' occupants to one part of the room and picking up a spare blaster. Weaver silently noted this odd behavior. Something for later, right now she needed to focus. Using her tethers to more or less gunk up the door, she extended her tethers into the computers and began digging into the systems while her ninja watched for dangers.

Meanwhile...

Back with team Havoc, Ally would focus her attention to dealing with just the guards. As fun as it was breaking stuff, even she thought it ws more prudent to fight the guards than just smash stuff which were no danger to them. While Rapture dealt with one hallway, Ally watched their backs and as another group rounded the corner, she kicked off. Ally used her super strength to launch herself like a high speed battering ram, plowing through the squad like bowling pins. Slowing her momentum down and swinging one leg around to pivot, she moved back to deal with any stragglers as a barrage of lazers came her way. In spite of her size, Ally was surprisingly agile and demonstrated this as she padded off on all fours, zig-zagging through the tight space before rising up and briefly running along the wall to avoid gunfire. She came back down with a punch to ground one guard, shooting back up with an uppercut as she continued to knock guards around like ragdolls. They may have high-end energy weapons but were still no match for her in close range combat, which is where she wanted to be.

Also meanwhile... The Cerberus Commandos arrived at The Elevator where they planted some explosives. They sent the elevator up and once it was about surface level, they set the explosives off which sent the elevator crashing back down into the basement. No one would be using that any time soon. The Commandos would then head toward their next objective, which was assist Havoc team.

Also also meanwhile...

Before the chaos began, CAP sat on a table admist a couple scientists which were performing some "routine" maintenance. It was also to correct any percieved errors, fine tune this, tweak, etc. CAP raised his head as the alarm went off, hearing the voices of guards outside the room. The scientists were naturally alarmed but looked hopeful that whoever it was, security could deal with it. That was until there was a quake and a rumble from an obvious explosion. "Hurry and finish your pointless modifications!" CAP barked at one of the staff, snapping them out of their stupor as they hurried as commanded. Once they were finished, CAP strode out of the room and wirelessly linked up with the lab security system to get a location of the intruders. Security Radio Chatter told him that there seemed to be two groups, one of which were two commandos.

But CAP had no desire to deal with human commandos. The other group sounded far more appealing... two metahumans and a human in a high-tech suit. Yes, that was definitely worth his attention as he warmed up his thrusters and started to rocket toward Team Havoc...

Red X was smiling the entire time, though there was no way to see it. Could mood be felt, then? The smile would disappear when Rapture actually cut the tendons in some wrists. She had been the one to most obviously state the non-lethality rule. Had she only been saying that to put the thief at ease? After a moment or two, it didn't seem the wounds were bleeding too seriously, so the thief got back to it. Sending X blasts and electric Xs at tons of precious equipment to disable and destroy it. Hurting the government's wallet was almost too enjoyable.

That was when the facility's personnel began rolling out in droves. Red X watched as Rapture would pick up a person to use as a human shield, and quickly lashed out at the men with some electric Xs and shuriken. Incapacitating and knocking them back. They ran forward, jumping, and their cape flared out like an iconic man of a certain chiropterac persuasion. It momentarily stunned the guards as they wondered if this was Batman in a suit, before they landed and swept for legs, using their master level martial arts skills to disarm and put them out of the fight for good. "I'm Batman," Red X said in a satirically deep voice, before running towards some other soldiers taking aim.

They covered them in adhesive Xs, making it harder for them to move and unable to retrieve their weapons, before destroying some more equipment with electric Xs. "This is a shocking amount of property damage." They turned and palm lasered some more emerging security guards, throwing a computer at a last one and sending them reeling back across the floor. "I hope they don't charge me with anything." Puns in the middle of a fight? Obviously the best strategy.
