The Dragon's eye is Jinxed!

It had taken forever to set up this exclusive reveal of the worlds newest, and therefore one of the rarest, discoveries to the world! But Stephanie Fall was sure it would make for an excellent scoop! She had pumped in countless hours for phone calls and cashing in favors just to get her foot in the door. It was only as the event was coming up, at the very point where she had just about given up hope when she received a call from the administrator of the museum, allowing her to come and cover their newest exhibit on the opening day.

It didn’t take long to set up. One reporter, and one cameraman. Naturally, she went through security procedures before she was shown where the newest exhibit was displayed. The famous Jewel discovered only a month prior. Her sources had told her that they had gathered dozens of experts to study the jewel, but ultimately walked away bewildered. The only thing they could do was guess that it was at least a million years old. Other then that, they could only give it the general title of a jewel.

“Alright Stephanie, we are on in three, two, one…”

“Hello, I’m Stephanie Fall with channel 4 news! Thousands of citizens have gathered here at the National Museum of Jump City have gathered here today for unveiling of the limited time exhibit of the world’s most unique pieces of art! Here, under careful guard, will be the first time that the newly uncovered jewel nicknamed The Dragons Eye.” The camera panned over to an illustrious jewel sitting snuggly in a secure case. Even with the bulletproof glass dulling the view, the jewel still shimmered like gold! The unique looking mineral had a distinct foggy pattern that conflicted against its shinning splendor. The fog was shaped like a thunderbolt, carving its way through the center of the bright gold, creating a beautiful inner image captured forever in the frame of a valuable jewel. “Scientists have observed it’s unique coloring and interesting clouding inside the jewel, earning it’s unique name! Hundreds have all come to see the jewel, and should you yourself wish to see it, then you had better act fast, because it is only going to be at Jump City Museum for the next three days!”

“And…we are good. Want to get an interview with the administrator next?”

“Sure! We will get his thoughts, maybe what he thinks it-“

The lights began to flicker, dimming down to almost nothing before shutting off completely. The entire building was blanketed in darkness, causing everyone inside to begin to mummer in surprise. No one could see even a foot in front of them, and relief filled the room as the museum’s emergency generators kicked in and the lights gently began to return, but only faintly so.

“Huh…that was weird…what do you think that was about?”

His answer came in the form of a window exploding near the entrance, throwing security guards and civilians aside without care or prejudice! Glass was all over the floor, and the sun outside caste a new shadow over the fallen security and unlucky patrons.

In the window was a woman with monstrous eyes, horrific claws, and alien appendages that looked as though she game straight out of a fantasy novel! Four curved, pointed horns protruded from her head as a pair of large, shining wings began to gently fold up onto her back. This made her pair of tails visible, the ends of each like a deadly medieval mace: A ball of harden cartilage lined with pointed nails that looked more like knives then anything! Finally, two long, hissing heads that looked like horned snakes rolled over the girl’s shoulders. They snapped their jaws that were lined with incredibly sharp teeth! It wasn’t hard for the reporters to recognize her as the super criminal known as Twintail.

“Sorry about the blackout~ I had a nice little recharge before I came in here! Not that I’m going to need it for you guys.”

The few standing security officers quickly rushed the woman, only to be attacked by the woman’s extra heads and tails. The lucky ones were thrown away with a single swipe of the woman’s tails, but those unlucky few found themselves in the grip of the Dragon’s jaws! No officer lasted longer then a single second, and panic quickly gripped the entirety of the museum goers.

“Are you getting all of this?”

“Huh? Oh! Yeah, don’t worry!”

Twintail easily slapped away anyone who might have gotten in her way, her golden eyes looking over the exhibits in a humdrum manner. The dragons hissed at her once everyone had fled, directing her right where the Dragon’s eye was…right where the reporters were hiding.

“I get it! Jesus, they just unearthed the thing…Okay, it’s been a month or whatever! Stop yelling! We are here now, its right here! We’ll take it, then that’s that!”

The dragon woman opened her wings and before the reporters had a chance to pack up and flee, the winged menace was on them! She landed right in between Stephanie and her camera man, cutting the two off from each other. The villain actually seemed surprised there was still anyone here that hadn’t been maimed by her.

“Reporters?! Gee, you guys are like cockroaches! I don’t like my picture taken, so how about I just-” A very sharp hiss from one of the heads interrupted her, dragging her over towards the mysterious jewel, “Alright! Why is this thing so important to you anyway?!”

The same head continued to growl and hiss, leaving Twintail to casually stare at the jewel. Stephanie tried to sneak away, only for the second head to lunge at her, threatening the reporter to stay put in a nonverbal way.

“Oooh, so this thing is a piece of your old body? And If we carry this lump around, its like getting a power boost in a video game, eh? Well why didn’t you say that in the first place! This is way better then a normal smash and grab!”

Twintail made quick work of the case, using her tails to crack and then shatter the protective case like it was made of toothpicks! No sooner did it break apart then the Head lashed out and snatched it up in it’s mouth, bringing it to Twintail and plopping it in her hands. The very second the Dragon’s eye touched Twintail, it reacted! The thunder image inside the jewel began to glow, it’s heavenly light travelling from the jewel to the woman’s dragon scales.

“Oh…That’s nice! It’s like…I don’t need to charge anymore! Unlimited electricity! POWER OVERWHELMING!” The dragon’s eyes began to glow a similar heavenly light, their twisted features pulled back in a malevolent grin as they roared into the air, firing off a bolt of electricity into the ceiling, sending sparks and rubble to spray from overhead, “So long as we have this rock…There ain’t no one in this city that can stop us!”

Jinx didn't have what one would call a "Good day" today... To kick things off, she had completely forgotten that the milk in her fridge was spoiled so when she prepared her breakfast  this morning... well... the smell was enough to make the hero's nose curl! Following that, she couldn't get ahold of Kid-Flash by either phone or communicator! All she wanted was to say "Hi" or... like... Maybe plan a date or something!? Dude was supposed to be the fastest hero out there and he couldn't find the time to pick up the phone...? Hmph. Deciding that she'd take a break from heroing this day, Jinx went over to her favorite hair-stylist to get her long, pink lox done the way she always did... AND THE PERSON SHE WANTED TO SEE WAS OUT FOR THE DAY...

...Talk about a run of bad-luck!

After taking a GOOD COUPLE HOURS Styling it herself, Jinx went out into the world exasperated and frustrated, the sorceress having to talk herself out of taking her emotions out of the people around her! Causing a fire-hydrant to explode wouldn't be too bad, would it? Making someone's shoes tie-together wouldn't cause TOO much damage, right? Bah... She couldn't do those things anymore. She couldn't use her powers just to get some shallow level of amusement at other people's expense! That was something the OLD Jinx would do! ...And Besides... She had something to prove. Despite having gotten in good with the Titans... She wasn't really one of them in more than an official sense. Ever since the destruction of the Brotherhood of Evil, she had been given a communicator and just... sent back out to figure things out on her own. Not a room offered in Titans Tower or a bit of help in figuring out her own life outside! It was almost like they didn't trust her or anything, as if her aid in that "final battle" didn't count! Well... that wasn't going to stand... Not one BIT! She was determined to prove that she could be just as good as ANY of the Titans... That... well... she could be their friend too at least! Kid Flash had given her the opportunity to be a better person... and she took that to heart... Now she HAD to prove to the originals that she could stand with them...

...Or something like that.

As she was walking down the streets, Jinx's pink, catlike eyes would WIDEN as she caught sight of some nearby display TV's playing the news, displaying the invasion of the Jump City Museum by some sort of dragon-headed/multi-headed girl! Her power was... intimidating, how she was able to BUST IN with sheer force alone, PLOWING through the guards and security measures as if they were nothing!

"Th... That's not far from here..." She muttered, glancing off to the side in its direction! "I have to go help...!"

Suddenly, as the bestial woman DECLARED her victory, a shimmering-pink wave would FLY towards the woman like a blade from within the Museum entrance, aiming for the hands that cradled the precious gem! Should it connect, the energy would flow into Twintail's hands causing them to loosen with a quick spark of energy, potentially causing her to drop her newly found source of UNLIMITED POWER! Not a moment later, JINX would DASH into the room within which Twintail inhabited, the sorcerous LEAPING towards the gem, attempting to GRAB it before it could hit the ground... or steal it from the woman's grasp!

Whether the villain managed to avoid Jinx's faithful reinactment of her more villainous ways of theiving, Jinx would deftly throw out her hands to catch herself as she flew towards the ground, hands shooting down to PUSH herself up from the incoming ground and into the air again, flipping SWIFTLY before landing in a semi-crouch before the invader!

"Didn't anyone tell you stealing is wrong?" Jinx asked sarcastically with a smile, placing her hand on her hip!

Twintail could feel the power running through her veins! Electricity ran all throughout her, the likes of which she had only felt when she was totally charged up! Her dragon’s hissed and purred in pleasure, their teeth and horns growing ever so slightly as the jewels light shined over them! Even the quills on her tails seemed to grow longer and sharper, with more slowly peeling through the tough cartilage on each end of her tails. Anything that could be improved, was improved. Strength was something she would never want again as the Dragon’s eye gifted the villain with all she needed.

Until a pinkish flash came and smacked into her claws. It didn’t hurt, but before Twintail could register what happened, the jewel slipped from her hands, tumbling to the floor. In a single instant, all of that addictive power was gone! It was like she was drinking from a fountain and the water had suddenly been shut off. Her heads had felt the shut off of such strength as well, hissing angrily. The head that desired the jewel in the first place quickly lashed out to seize the powerful stone in its jaws. Only its Jaw’s would snap shut over nothing!

A shadow as quick as a flash suddenly appeared and took the jewel before it could even hit the floor. All three heads whirled around to see that the shadow was actually a girl! She was flipping around like a professional acrobat, and deftly landed in a half crouch not far from the dragon woman, cradling the Dragon’s Eye under her arm.

The head that had led the body to the museum hissed as Jinx was holding the treasure it so desperately desired! The woman smiled and taunted the three heads, enraging all three in record time! The horns on the Twintail’s head began to spark, electricity frying the air with quick, sharp shocks!

“Filthy little thief! This is my score! Get your own!”

The Dragon would lunge forward, her claws sharp and grasping for the jewel in Jinx’s hands while the two heads would be focused on tearing the thought-to-be powerless victim that dared to stand in their way.

Oh, the double-meaning of that accusation! Her, calling JINX a thief as she stood in the ruins of what once was an (admittedly boring) ancient exhibit? What made it even doubly funny is that if this engagement went down only a year-or-so ago, she would have been dead-right. It was only just recently with the support of her boyfriend that she'd attempted the hero-life, a life where stealing... especially gorgeous gems such as this one was completely off the table! Now she had to protect it... and herself, all the while keeping herself from running away with it and keeping the collateral to a minimum!

...Sigh... Okay, here we go...

"That's rich, coming from you." Jinx snickered arrogantly, flipping deftly over one of the dragon heads, landing atop the face of the other with her boot-heel grinding down upon it's skull! "You were trying to take this... thing and you're going to lecture me? Get REAL!" Cradling the Gem under her arm, Jinx would bring her other across her chest in a wide arch, firing off a QUICK blast of pinkish energy shaped in a similar direction to the motion of her hand, aiming to SLAM into the dragonness' chest, aiming to send her FLYING back the way she'd come... RIGHT OUT THE FRONT DOOR! She had to get her outside so that she had more space to manuver and fight this girl! The space of this room was so tight, so constricted, she had no idea how she was going to fight this girl in close quarters without enough of a space to make use of her acrobatics!

Should her blast manage to send the dragon three-headed dragon monster recoiling back out into the streets, Jinx would set the gem back down in it's rightful place... or what was left of it before chasing right after, the tips of her fingers... and her cat-like eyes glowing with powerful, pink energy! That long-stretching, excited smile began to creep up along Jinx's lips!

Oh, how her blood already began to pump, that excitement of a fight she hadn't felt in such a long while yet!

“The Dragon’s Eye belongs to us!  We won’t let something that had been taken from us years ago be ripped away from us again!”

This girl was quickly turning out to be no ordinary thief! Both heads had lashed out like bolts from a crossbow, intent on snapping the girl up in their jaws to keep her from fleeing with the Jewel. Instead, she jumped over the first head, letting its ferocious teeth clamp down on nothing but air. The second lunging dragon head received a sudden weight dropped on top of it as the thief landed square on its brow! The head dropped, but quickly hissed loudly like that of an alligator. Already, it was starting to pull away from under Jinx, as Twintail herself swiped for the Jewel. However, just as her claws grazed the rare mineral, Jinx’s energy bolt slammed into the dragon woman’s chest!

The force was enough to send the woman and her heads flying out the hole they had just made. Thankfully, someone’s car was there to cushion the fall. The vehicle was crushed under the dragon woman’s weight, glass flying everywhere as onlookers fled the suddenly active scene.

Before Twintail could even sit up and rub her head, the head that brought them there was hissing and growling at her, enraged that it’s prize was still inside with that woman!

“Ah shut up! I’ll take care of it! She’s gonna pay for that!”

Twintail’s would quickly roll off the destroyed vehicle, sharing some of the glass off her body and clothes as she glared at the hole in the wall. Just as she was planning on smashing through it once again, the pink haired woman appeared in the hole. She was smiling, actually happy that she had intercepted the super villain.

The air around the two dragon heads began to snap and crackle! The smell of ozone burning and a bright light came from their razor toothed maws, each of them glaring directly at the new target presented in front of them. They were determined to make their next attack the last.

“You’re out of your league, Girl!” Twintail’s mocked, revealing a smile lined with sharp teeth much like the dragon head possessed, “I’m gonna enjoy frying you!”

Suddenly, the heads would reel back slightly, before lunging forward! Two bolts of lightning carved its way towards the trickster! Much like true lighting, it was blindingly fast, and whatever it hit would likely explode into a blaze of debris and hellfire, much to the pleasure of the villain!

"I mean... with that look, the only thing you're out of my league in is ugly, sister." Jinx mocked confidently, her hands on her hips! Seriously... With a pair of snakes stuck to her face and a smile like a shark, Jinx couldn't imagine this girl getting ANY sort of dates... you know... outside of those REALLY desperate boys NOBODY wanted anything to do with! More importantly... this girl was NUTS! Had to be, referring to herself as if there were MANY of her in the same body, losing her cool almost completely after failing to seize what she wanted... Suffice it to say, Jinx was starting to have reservations about this girl! She was used to fighting Titans, law enforcement, petty criminals... things like that, people grounded in themselves at the very least! Crazy... usually wasn't on Jinx's resume...

...Say this for heroism... it provided an ever-expanding list of opportunities and experience!

Jinx's wide, cat-like eyes shot open even WIDER as the dragon-thing's mouths opened, voltage crackling and weaving between their teeth as they leveled themselves at the hero, the grey-skinned girl barely able to raise her hands up in time and fire off a bad-luck blast before the yellow, high-powered blast connected with her! By the grace of the bad-luck-gods... whoever they might've been, Jinx's power was enough to deflect the blast, the direction of the wild tendrils of power shooting skyward, ARCHING into the clear, morning sky like lightning's return-stroke, LIGHTING up the city for at least several blocks!

Jinx couldn't help but watch, her jaw dropped somewhat in awe... before a soft grimace coming over her features, her palms... burning...? Jinx looked down, wincing as she spotted dark smoke coming off of her palms, light burns covering her once flawless skin... It seemed she couldn't deflect all the electricity...

"NNgh..." Jinx grumbled, standing before the twisted dragon-girl as she declared her intentions.

"Yeah... No. I've seen better electric shocks... from Gizmo's toys!"

The smile on the Dragon woman’s face quickly melted into a horrific snarl! With an inhuman growl, the two Dragons on her shoulders fired off a pair of terrifyingly powerful volts of electricity! If Twintail had it her way, the only remnants of the snarky sneak would be a pile of ash and charred bone, but before the two heads could finish charging their shots, the girl had time to wave her hands about! Twintail noticed a pink colored bolt carving towards her heads, but figured whatever the girl did, the electricity would nullify. After all, few could withstand a bolt from her when she was totally charged!

But then the bolts seemed to smack into the electricity, and suddenly the deadly energy went skyward. All three pairs of eyes followed the arching trails of their attack, disbelieving what was happening until they found the culprit of such treachery!

“WHAT?! WHEN DID THAT GET THEIR!”

It seemed at the exact moment the electricity bolts impacted against the thief's own projectiles, some of the rubble from the hole she had made in the building had shifted, exposing various steel pillars and rods! Like a magnet, the exposed metal seemed to drag the majority of Twintail’s attack away from Jinx, and smack against the building and light up the sky! The sheer rage in Twintails face would have melted the steel beams if her electricity hadn’t already!

“THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE! Of all the rotten luck! I heard that was just a myth! How on earth did that happen?!”

The dragon heads hissed in fury, watching their energy be absorbed by the building before turning towards their thieving opponent. Each head growled as Jinx peered down at her burned hands, the woman looking the three of them dead in the eyes…

And telling them she had seen better.

The dragons roared in rage, their barbed tails SMASHING the concrete surrounding Twintail as both an expression of frustration and show of strength. Only Twintail herself remained still, her eyes locked onto Jinx with a gaze as sharp as a knife.

That last bolt attack was a serious blast from both of her heads, and it would take some time until they could discharge another bolt. The wasn’t what Twintail was concerned about, however. She wanted that Jewel, and she wasn’t about to let some low level superhero stand in her way.

The woman would ready her hands, each of her fingers ending in a sharp claw. So long as she got in close, then the hero in front of her didn’t stand a chance! Between her claws, her heads, and her tails, this freak was outmatched!

Quickly, her wing’s would fold outward from her back and, with one massive gust, the dragon woman would launch herself like a cannonball! Her intent was to tackle the woman and tear her to pieces! None of her heads considered the fact that, due to their momentum, they had no way to alter their course should Jinx move out of the way.
