calling all heroes (open)[gore]

police stand by their cars guns drawn since 2:00 this afternoon inside the mall about a hundred armed thugs with military grade body armor and weapons attempt to raid the mall of its valubles ile using the occupants as   hostages.  no one knows why here or why now
near by the doors theirs a few officers who attempted to go in but were wounded for trying

ren hears the sirens from atop the roofs of the city and looked threw his scope to check it out after seeing the scene he looked around and spots a small dish most likely for the apartments hes running atop of he ran to the dish and jacked into it to send a city wide message threw any electronic device for help

as he finishes he pulls his rifle from his back and prepares himself to start dropping targets

Isiah would actually be at the mall today, on his own. He was greatly enjoying being able to go places on his own and was looking around for some things to buy with his "allowance" for helping around the store. Isiah wanted to buy some gifts for his brother, Nina, and even Kris aswell as one for Fox if he ever bumped into him again. He had an idea of what he wanted to get everyone except Fox whose gift was giving him the most trouble. But he didn't seem like someone who would get hung up on what the gift was, and probably would just be thrilled to get a gift anyway.

Still, Isiah was determined to find him something special! But alas, all he found that he thought Fox would enjoy was some scented candles. With his sensitive nose, Isiah thought he might like those but was still disappointed that he couldn't find something better. And then a chill ran down Isiah's spine. ^{"Hide my son.}

Isiah didn't know why but he had the strongest sensation to hide, ducking into a clothing store and hurrying into one of the changing rooms just as some gunfire was heard. He jumped with a start, his heart starting to beat faster as he heard people screaming, both panicked ones and commanding ones. His first instinct was to immediately call his brother, not even pausing to wonder why his phone was already on his brother's number.


"Hey bro what's up? And what's with the noise?" Orion picked up on the first ring, always making sure his phone was close by when his brother was out by himself.

"O-orion! There's men with guns here! I'm scared!" And that was about all Isiah managed to get out before a man burst into the changing room, making him drop his phone as Orion called out to him. There was a great disturbance in the force coming...

ren lines up his shot and blows the first thugs head clean off before the next one had time to react he shot that one in the neck and the gore from it coverd his buddy as he ran back inside to warn the others

The signal hack had not gone unnoticed. Envy had seen the police cars go sailing passed and had not taken the liberty of following. If the emergency required this level of response, it was probably one that he did not want to get involved with. Yet when the electronic message reached him it gave him pause. There was at least one hero already at the scene. That was worth showing up for.

Several minutes later the hooded figure of Aequalitas appeared on the rooftops. He landed deftly on the same platform as Ren just moments after he'd sent the gunmen packing. The demon made himself known, "That was an impressive piece of marksmanship." He'd seen men treat guns like joysticks before and the inaccuracy of their shooting. Renegade on the other hand was a very precise and measured shooter. No wonder the remaining gunmen had run.

Envy paced over, "The name's Aequalitas. You've made them pause but they still have every advantage. We should make the hostages our top priority. Have you surveyed the compound yet? Do we know where they're being held?" Entering the mall would have been risky to say the least. Envy was more interested in points for saving hostages than getting into a fire-fight with mercenaries. Leave that to the police to mop up.

When the men made their way into the mall, Simon was at the farthest end, shopping for herbs for his cooking. He was reading the ingredients of one of the products when he heard gunfire and screaming. He ran out and saw a group of men walking towards the shop. When they saw him, they pointed their guns at him, so he jumped at them and promptly got riddled with bullets, only for that not to bother him at all. He closed the distance towards one of them, forming his hand into an axe and slicing him at the neck.

Isiah would be herded together with other hostages in a part of the mall with a number of the thugs keeping watch over them, others going to loot the stores OR deal with any heroes that came to try and stop them. Right now they were still confident with their armor, weapons, and numbers that they could hold out long enough to make a nice haul. Then they'd use the hostages to secure an escape route out of there. Not even the teen titans would try to get in their way if they had hostages. So what were THESE guys thinking just assaulting them?

Isiah would be terrified as he was told to lay on the ground with the others, quickly forgotten among the several hostages also terrified around him. Why did this have to happen? What did they really stand to gain robbing the mall in broad daylight? Not to mention all the people that would get hurt from this stunt! If not for the crippling terror he was feeling right now, he'd be almost as angry as Orion was with Kris that one day.


Speaking of the big red machine- he would be flying along using his flames straight for the mall. He'd fly into the parking garage, using some of the leftover flames to ignite his body. Orion had been feeling more paranoid about his identity, and had decided to go burning poor souls as... well fire. He was in essence the human torch as he made his way into the mall, instantly ambushed by a pair of thugs. They stopped and backed away before even trying to fire, probably just stunned at the fact that (to them) fire was walking toward them. Plus they didn't fully realize it was just someone ON FIRE. Naturally, they didn't think their bullets would have any effect.

Either way it didn't matter as they would try to run, suddenly becoming engulfed in two streams of fire whipping out of the narrow hallway. Orion continued walking, stopping by one of the burning corpses to strip it of the armor and sliding it over his flaming body. Didn't really make any difference to him about the smell, protection was more important as he tried to figure out where his brother was. He followed some sounds, ran into some thugs looting a store, and promptly burned the entire store. Snuffing out the flames once he was sure the five or so thugs inside were dead. But Orion wasn't here to stop looting, he had one goal in mind and one goal only. Find Isiah.

Ren looked to his side after he dropped the two thugs and notices the demon who spoke to him "negative location of the hostages is unknown but i intend to save them either way" Ren got up and made his way across a few more rooftops till he had a view of the ceiling area of the mall it was a glass like ramp. With a good running start Ren turned on his nano armor and jumped threw the glass ramp ceiling.  colliding with ground at high speeds moments later.  thanks to his armor  he survived though it deactivated shortly after use. three thugs saw this and  fired  on him. Ren took several bullets to the chest his body armor soaking it but god it hurt. hiding behind a bench he blind fired in their direction and managed to drop one of them before the other two spoke "he got jimmy" "ahh take this."   Ren started to reload his assault rifle when a grenade landed  by his feet "crap" ren cursed  as he jumped over the bench only to take a bullet to the shoulder that  unfortunately his armor wouldn't stop. Gritting his teeth he rolled to the left and shot both of them with a flick of his rist using his wired reflexes and one bullet then the bench behind him exploded. with shrapnel going everywhere and a bit going into his left leg Ren lets out a scream of pain he struggled to pull himself up using his rifle as a crutch he moved into a nearby hallway only to see a thug get his neck sliced into by what Ren hopes to be another hero "hey a little help here."

From his voice Aequalitas ascertained that this was the person who had called for help. But rather than introduce himself or explain the situation or even gesture for Envy to follow, Renegade had advanced. Planning was not the lad's strong suit then. The gunmen could turn on the hostages if they were too hard pressed. That was the whole idea of taking hostages after all. And then there was the whole question of the attacker's motives.

Envy had to thank Renegade's impetuousness. He'd left behind plenty of low-risk tasks.

The masked and hooded vigilante dropped off the roof ledge and springboarded against a piece of masonry. He grabbed a street-light and slid down it to reach the ground unharmed. He approached the police barriers at the scene and offered the benefit of his abilities. After a bit of back and forth he was finally identified and allowed onto the scene.

The police had recovered the first few bodies shot by Renegade. They were looking through wallets for identities but coming up short. The gunmen had been careful. Instead, Envy pointed at each face in turn, "Percy Masters. Lazlo Pette. Aryan Chadha." His ESP had given their identities away.

"Radio those names through. Go on kid. What else can you tell us?"

"They're ex-military. Nothing immediately useful." Except for who they worked for. But he kept that card close to his chest for the time being, "Their walkie-talkie. Allow me a minute on it Captain and I'll have your hostage location."

"No son, no. The negotiator is on his way. He'll deal with it."

"They've tried to contact you? Made demands."

"Not... yet."

Aequalitas nodded and let the police Captain turn his back. When he did Envy grabbed the walkie and casually spoke into it, "Hey. Can you fellas hear me tawkin' or what?" He had ascertained that Percy possessed a Boston accent. It allowed Envy to better imitate him.

Realising what he had done, the police Captain screamed, "What did I just say?!"

Envy merely made a 'shush' motion with his finger and held the reply up for the group to listen, "That you Masters?"

"Yeah, s'me."

"I thought I saw you go down man!"

"I'm fine. No thanks to you mooks! They got Pette and Chadha."

"Aw, no great loss there. Less of a split. Where you at?"

"I don't know. Got all turned arand. I can hear lotsa people. Where we put them hostages?"

"Second floor. We put 'em in the back of T J Max. Big changing rooms there. You sayin' you're near th-"

"Cheers. You're a stah. I'm on my way." Aequalitas let go of the transmitter button and handed the walkie back over to the police Captain, "One day you officers will trust me. I never presume feats I don't have in me. Shall we go save our citizens then?"

Simon removed his axe-hand from the neck of the man he slashed, then got riddled with bullets from his friends in revenge. His body jerked with each bullet that hit and he crashed down to the ground. Then he got right back up, grinning. He charged at one of the men, grabbing his shoulders and biting his head, essentially decapitating him from the top half of his head. Simon spat out the pieces and turned to face the remaining men, who all seemed very afraid.

Simon ran over to them, ducking down low and slicing one of them in the stomach, but the armour they were wearing stopped most of it. Simon then morphed his hand to normal and then into a blade, but didn't grow it, then stabbed the man in the throat. As the others tried to run, Simon chased them down.

Less than a minute later, Simon had killed all of them but one, who had been left lying down on the floor without a helmet. Simon stalked over to him, grabbing him by the collar and picking him up. The man took out a knife and plunged it into Simon's chest, stabbing him in the heart. He smiled, thinking that he had done it, but then realised that Simon wasn't falling. Simon looked at him with an amused look on his face, then opened his jaw wide and lunged at the man, despite his screams.

Simon dumped the mans corpse on the ground, all the wounds on his body healing themselves. He then heard someone asking for help, turning to see Ren. He then ran over and put the guys arm around his shoulder, supporting him Listen, I'm in a hurry, so I'm going to have to put you somewhere safe.

Orion happened to be somewhere else inside the mall, burning thugs along the way. But now that he had donned armor, he looked much less like a fire elemental and more like a guy on fire. So now he actually had to be more careful as his enemy was atleast observant enough to figure out that his body was just on fire. It was a very moot point as he was taking cover behind a mall map of all things- it was one of the few things large enough to actually protect his tall form. Once the firing had stopped, he ran around the map glaring up at the gunmen keeping him pinned down. Now that they were in his sight, their guns wouldn't work. But his flames would as he shot up from a jet stream of fire from his feet, reaching out and grabbing them both by the face and smashing them into the ground from his momentum. And then fire happened, the mean screaming as Inferno mercilessly watched the skin peel from their body as his flames seeped under and around the armor they wore.


Meanwhile, Isiah cringed every time he heard gunfire going off, followed by screams. But he wasn't being totally helpless and was trying to figure out how to get out of this mess with no one else getting hurt. He knew it was only a matter of time before they would use their hostages as bartering tokens, or worse- human shields. Isiah was also definitely sure that his brother would be here shortly if he wasn't already and be whittling down their numbers quickly. And from what he was overhearing, people were definitely taking them down. So their time was quickly running out. He had to think of a way to make a plan of escape with the other hostages before he had to do something... drastic.

Ren thanked the hero for helping him along but after awhile he understood he  would just slow him down spotting the mall cop security area Ren took his arm back and  spoke "go ill hold them off here" dispite the pain ren bent down and grabbed two walkie  talkies  off some  corpses  and set it to a empty channel after handing one of them to the other hero ren  said "if i find the location of the hostages ill let you know" using his rifle as a crutch he moved to a spot with good a  firing line in the security area and set himself up then spoke "if i die here do me a favor and tell my creator, thomas white i died aq hero "

More police had turned up, including the hostage negotiator - or 'captive specialist'. They shared all the information they had with him including news that they believed heroic individuals had entered the complex. Envy confirmed the presence of vigilantes yet expressed ignorance over their current modus operandi, whereabouts, capabilities, or disposition. The general consensus was, though, that the law had to move fast. The vigilante's approach might just get all the hostages killed.

"If we could figure out a way to share with them the hostage location. Then single men strike teams would be an asset, not a 'situation' as you put it."

"What can we do? Shout it over the loud-speaker? Alert every nut-job hauled up inside? They'll go crazy."

The negotiator nodded, "Yes. And can we trust these loose cannons? If it was people that we've dealt with, Riot or perhaps Hotwire, then we'd have no qualms. But I'm not about to put the lives of those people into the hands of adrenaline-junkies." He crowed uncharitably.

The police had a map of the complex spread out over the bonnet of a car. They pointed at the store of T J Max and noted that it did not have a rear exit, being on the upper level. It was not remotely close to the ladder-accessible fire escape, and at any rate they did not want to funnel the civilians through that narrow gap if it was avoidable.

"The roof. Can we come through there?"

"Not without making a lot of noise. And there won't be getting back out without winches. If only we knew what they wanted. If they want to escape, they'll have to open a dialogue soon. And we could wait on that if those vigilantes weren't threatening them!" The negotiator kicked a nearby trash can over.

"Focus! I can get in there. Do whatever you have to do. But if they come for the hostages, maybe I can delay the execution."

"And who is this again?"

"Another of your damnable vigilantes, Sir, unless you give me your radio!" However little the liked it, the boys in blue were going to have to trust the Samaritans on this one. If they could not get the hostages to safety then they would have to settle for barricading the hostages into their cage until the thugs could be defeated.

Dante looked at the radio in his hand "i have an idea" he said out loud as he plugged himself into it with his hotwire jack . after a few moments he had connected himself with the police radio waves 
"hello if any officers can hear me my name is renegade im here with another hero if you have any idea were the hostages are please let us know our freaquincy is 1624"
