SpellsFamiliar Conjuration – Manifesting as a rather large house cat, Summer is able to create her own familiar that directly ties to her senses and soul. Anything the cat sees or hears, Summer will also see or hear. This allows her to prepare security measures or a combat partner if need be. While her familiar does not need to eat or sleep, Summer does need to keep track of it in combat. Any harm that befalls her familiar will come to her as well, and if it dies she will do the same. Additionally, this familiar can communicate with other beings, and it does so in Summer’s voice.
As an odd side note, the only thing that doesn’t seem to bother her and thus doesn’t bother Summer when used on her is pepper spray. In fact, she seems to like licking at and eating pepper spray. It’s best we don’t ask, really.
- Spoiler:
Object Duplication – Summer can cast this spell on any object in her line of sight, allowing her to duplicate and manipulate it as she sees fit. While they may be copies, anything she makes will be solid and can be used to block enemies off, create escape paths, or be used in combat. Given that her familiar is technically only that, it is not its own living creature and can be duplicated, allowing Summer to confuse her enemies.
Arcane Platforms – This spell allows Summer to create small footholds in the air to walk on, run across, and generally maneuver on both in and out of combat. Typically Summer just channels these through her feet, making it almost impossible for her to miss one. She can however raise and lower these platforms as she pleases, giving her the illusion of levitation.
Arcane Missiles – The most simple of arcane offense, these blasts of energy can be fired at a maximum of 5 at a time upon targets as seen fit by the spellcaster. These are not very quick to move, but they do considerable physical damage should they make contact. Enough to crack a few ribs.
Minor Shapeshifting – Summer can sometimes adjust her form to that of her familiar. This allows her to move more silently, as well as more quickly. As for stealth, she’s about as stealthy as a giant kitty cat in the middle of a busy city can be. Keep in mind this form is borderline useless in terms of combat, and is really only good for quick movements. Offense isn’t an option.
Teleportation Rifts – Useful for creating rifts in space that allow Summer quick and easy transportation from one location to another, as far or as close as she wishes, but others can follow her through these rifts, making them rather impractical for an escape option.
Arcane Bolts – Similar to the Arcane Missile, this spell trades power for speed. These are quick moving strikes that do little more than the average human’s punch in terms of strength.
Spacial Expansion – A tricky little jinx that allows Summer to force inanimate objects to expand, up to the point of bursting and sending debris flying everywhere. Useful for destroying pathways, disorienting opponents with debris, and even disarming enemies. Usually it takes a good 4 seconds of channeling to actually force an object to explode, but a decent round of expansion will usually make most weapons too large to hold comfortably and effectively.
Telekinesis – In its most basic form, at least. This spell allows Summer to move anything she would otherwise be able to hold, so up to about the size of a small human being. It’s useful for carrying many things at once.
Psychic Barriers – Psychic, magic, same thing. Essentially Summer can create almost impenetrable barriers with her mind. The catch to this is that she cannot move while she’s creating large ones that would protect her entire body. She can however make smaller ones on the go, allowing her to block and maneuver. As a simple human though, she doesn’t have the reaction time to keep up with firearms in this manner and would need to stop and created a larger barrier to stop continuous fire.

Physical WeaknessesFocus the Familiar – While Summer can be arguably difficult to kill, her familiar isn’t hard to kill at all. It’s a big target, it’s almost incapable of fighting back outside of biting and clawing at you, and really shouldn’t pose much of a threat. Best of all, killing the familiar will kill Summer.
The Flow of Magic – While Summer does have solid nerves, if she is afraid or shaky magic will not come as easily to her. Because of this, she often smokes to calm her nerves.
Mental WeaknessesShort Sighted – Summer doesn’t work with a grand plan in mind most of the time. Generally speaking, she goes with the flow and this causes her some problems against enemies who may strategize against her.
Confidence Lacking – In the world of magic, Summer still views herself as a novice. While this may not be exactly true, someone who knows her well could play to that, causing her to lose her control over the arcane arts.

Arcane Almanac – The base spellbook for each of her incantations. Nothing new in here and nothing she needs, but at the very least it’s something to do when she’s bored. This book is written in a rather ancient language though, which would require some learning to be able to read.
«««CEREBRAL PROFILE»»»
PersonalitySummer is incredibly crude and sarcastic. Her sense of humor is dry and morbid...and she loves to see how people react to it. In terms of her motivation as a hero, she views people as relatively stupid. Not in terms of overall intelligence, but in their understanding of the world and the forces that guide it. To her, any supernatural threat that comes forward that she refused to stop would become her fault. And she can’t live with that.

«««PERSONAL BACKGROUND»»»
Family Members:Owen Avalon – Father
Ciara Avalon – Mother
Place of Origin: Dublin, Ireland
HistoryAs a child, Summer’s first experience with magic was very simple and straightforward, magicians. She was always fascinated by what they did, and as she grew older she began to learn a few basic tricks that she retains to this day. Nothing fancy, card tricks, a few vanishing tricks, sleight of hand, the usual thing that anyone can pick up. Her fascination in the art of mysticism began with the rise of metahumans.
While some fought with their fists or with weaponry, others thought to battle with their minds and the mystic arts. These people such as Constantine and Zatanna inspired her to pursue the art of magic, spending years of her life on it until she knew a rather significant amount of magic. While she’s far from a master, she knows enough, and her quest for magic has brought her to America.
After landing, she quickly established herself in law enforcement. Rather than hiding her identity, she became an officer who used it freely to apprehend criminals and protect the innocent. Honestly it's easier that way.

”Do you have visual yet?”Summer sighed, leaning back in her chair, the trademark squeak ringing out in the room, echoing just slightly. To be fair, she did tell him to come back about this time. Summer taken this job to help locate a few of the more...notorious criminals that remained in Jump City. Control Freak especially seemed to be a bit of a pain to track down. He’d overrun the factory so heavily by this point with cartoons that any normal person walking near the place was an eyesore, they stood out too heavily.
”Relax, I’m working on it.” She said simply , after taking a long drag of her cigarette.
”You worry too much...”The man on the other side of the phone sounded angry at her lax attitude.
”Ms. Avalon, I feel the need to remind you that sitting on your *** in a chair makes you a rather poor informant.” Summer’s expression soured, he must have heard her chair. She clicked her tongue and put out her cigarette.
”And I feel the need to remind you, Director Rhodes, that when you hire a mage to do your work for you, you should anticipate their methods to be a little bit different.” She closed her eyes for a moment. She saw the third floor of the factory, engineered to recreate several little creatures from the newest set...in real life of course. Control Freak had obviously taken advantage of the newest release.
And overseeing it...in a comfy office on the far west sector of the room would be Control Freak. Excellent.
”Third floor office. Giant conveyor belt, can’t miss it.” She smiled to herself. A human being would be obvious in a place like that, but a rather large, black furred, cat-like creature? That would blend right in, especially to the shadows of a factory.
”By the way, your guns may not be that useful, Director. I’m pretty sure these things only faint.”
