«««SKILL SET»»»
Powers:Card Manipulation: Ace can sense and control any playing card within a 50 foot radius around himself. He can learn its suite and value, as well as its exact location, direction, and speed of motion. Using his powers, Ace can levitate and actively control up to 52 playing cards, and can instantaneously launch up to 5 of them toward a target at speeds up to 50 MPH.
Sub-Power: Card flight
Ace can form a platform of a minimum of 26 cards beneath himself to fly around on at speeds up to 30 MPH. Once in the air, any card removed from the platform that leaves the total number of cards below 26 will cause him to descend at a linearly increasing rate.
Lucky Die: A magic die that Ace carries around with him that cannot be loaded or broken. While in combat, Ace can roll the die to trigger an effect to aid him in combat. The die has a 40% chance of giving Ace his desired result, and a 12% chance of giving him one of the other effects.
Effects:
1: Burns all of the remaining playing cards within Ace's range of influence except for up to 20 normal cards in his possession
2: Heals Ace's injuries to three varying degrees: Minor cuts, bruises, and burns will be fully healed. Major cuts, burns, and broken bones will be mended but remain weak, to the point where fighting or any other form of excessive stress could cause the injuries to re-manifest. Severed limbs and damaged organs will be temporarily stabilized, but will require proper medical attention in order to be fully fixed. Doing so much as moving too fast will cause the injuries to re-manifest. This effect does NOT stack (i.e. Ace cannot heal a major injury completely or mend an organ twice by rolling multiple twos)
3: Instantly reloads all of Ace's normal decks
4: Creates a 10x10x5 foot wall where the die lands for up to a minute (can be canceled by Ace any time before the end). The wall cannot be tipped over, but can be broken by anything stronger than a rocket launcher.
5: Changes Ace's remaining cards to carbon fiber ones.
6: Changes Ace's clothes to a jester outfit, complete with crazy hat.
Once the effect has taken place, the die returns to Ace's pocket and cannot be rolled again for five minutes. The die can be rolled a maximum of three times per battle.
Skills:Book Smart: Ace is a good student who both learns and recalls information (and in particular facts and formulas) quickly. In terms of education level, Ace is on par with a slightly above-average sophomore college student, and is particularly inclined in math and physics.
Card Counting: Due to his past involvements with his family, Ace has learned how to count cards perfectly.
Physical Weaknesses:Human: Despite his die's ability to heal, Ace still has a regular human body. Anything that can hurt or kill a regular human can do the same to him.
Spade: Covering the spade on Ace's right hand will nullify his card-related powers. Ace's hand must be covered with a solid substance, not just something that obscures it from his view (i.e. dark liquids or smoke/gas)
Cards: While Ace does his best to remain stocked up on cards, he still only carries a finite amount, most of which are susceptible to being burnt or torn and rendered useless.
Mental Weaknesses:Innocents: Ace cares for innocent civilians deeply. If one is put in a dangerous situation, Ace will do nearly anything to keep them safe. Taking a civilian hostage is a good way to get him to stop fighting and resort to talking. While Ace can usually hold back his anger at civilians being harmed or killed to finish his task, certain scenarios (e.g. friends or individual encounters as opposed to mass attacks) can drive him over the edge, causing him to attack out of blind rage. While it's a nearly sure-fire way to get him anger, the instigator should be ready to deal with the consequences.
Equipment:Decks of Cards:
Ace carries four decks of cards with him at all times. Three of these are standard playing card decks, which when launched at a human opponent can cause paper cuts on glancing blows and, in the case of a direct hit, embed the card in the target's skin (although they can be pulled out fairly easily). The fourth deck is made of custom carbon-fiber playing cards, which are both significantly denser and sharper on the edges than the normal cards. Theses cards can cause deeper cuts on glancing strikes and stab through to bone on direct hits. Ace usually saves these cards for when he runs out of normal cards or is facing a significant threat.
Lucky Die: See powers for details

«««PERSONAL BACKGROUND»»»
Family Members: King Allen (incarcerated father), Queen Allen (deceased mother)
Place of Origin: Jump City
History:Two years before Ace's birth, King and Queen Allen started a counterfeiting ring. Their plan involved taking the fake money they made to casinos, where they would exchange the money for chips, play a few games, and then exchange the chips for real money.
Upon Ace's birth, Queen withdrew from the business for a few years to raise him. Even as a young boy he was advanced for his age, particularly in the area of math. Noticing this, King taught Ace card counting and incorporated him into the 'family business', making even more money than he used to.
This worked out quite well for a time, until Queen came to King, requesting that both she and Ace be allowed to leave. Angered by this, King attacked Queen, accidentally killing her in the process. Unbeknownst to him, Ace witnessed the event and quickly went to the police, who arrested King, effectively shutting down the ring.
This also put Ace out of a home, and not wanting to be sent to an orphanage or foster home, he took to the streets. While he was wandering down an alleyway, he noticed a blue, transparent die sitting on the ground in front of him. Curious, he picked it up, at which point his hand started to burn. While he tried to let go, he was unable to open his hand, and watched as a symbol was burned into the back of it - a spade. As the pain faded, Ace lifted his hand to get a better look at the mark, and one of the many playing cards he carried floated in front of him. Realizing what had happened, Ace began a career as a hero, defending others who couldn't defend themselves.
Working mainly as a low-level hero, Ace focused on stopping individual crimes or events, while staying out of bigger conflicts such as the Zydon attacks or Russian invasion. After the establishment of the new government, Ace did his best to stay out of the limelight, hesitant to continue his heroics for fear of being locked up or even killed in some of the more extreme events. After the recent coup lead by HIVE, however, Ace decided that he couldn't sit by and let things continue, and so has come back to working as a hero with a focus on bringing the new government to a halt.
