A Harpy is Home for the Holidays(Open)

The skies above jump city were peaceful as the true Harpy of the city returned. Gilda had been away, travelling, for quite a while but as the holidays approached she remembered that the only people she knew at all probably still resided in Jump City. Not one to watch the news, Gilda wasn't sure whether or not anything had happened in the city recently, but she was sure that she would be able to hunt down anyone who was left...well, actually she expected them to hunt her down. Of course she didn't expect them to be psychic, so she had to let them know she was back, get something in the news. They would hear about it and, hopefully, figure out where she would be. Of course that opened the door to a lot of others finding her, but she had never been caught between a rock and a hard place before, she doubted anyone would be able to do it now.

What to do though? Robbing banks was too cliche but she had, just barely, been around long enough to to learn of an Nth metal deposit that had entered the city during her absence. She wasn't left with many classical options. She supposed that would have to do, or rather she had supposed about an hour ago when she had learned the precious living metal was about to be transported to a more secure location.

Jump City's streets erupted with sound. Screaming and yelling was big, but the most prominent sound was a loud crash followed by screeching steel. Gilda tore into the truck with her gauntlet. The guards had been knocked unconscious by the initial impact as Gilda had shattered the axle from above and, in the process, jabbed it into the ground, stopping the truck cold. She left the truck with a possession similar to one she had held quite a while ago. It wasn't the same, but it was a great substitute, though she would probably store it instead of use it. She looked about at the faces of frightened citizens. "The Harpy is back." she announced.

"The Harpy? Do ya know that name is already taken?" A short form, crowned by spiky blue hair, steps forward, lightning crackling around the hand casually resting on the belt beside a longer then usual tanto and a familiar communicator."Lightning Wolf!!!" The halfling grins, waving."Ey citizens!!Go on and evacuate the area, I'll go on ahead and settle this." As they leave, he looks at her."So...Harpy 2....I'm not very clever, so I can only think of two things to happen here.One, you surrender and we go on a nice,friendly walk to the tower while we get you sorted, or we fight, and one of us gets knocked silly. Bad thing about the second? I'll at least mark you, so both of us are coming out worse then we went in...If I were you, I'd go first.We could stop and snag a hotdog or something!!! Whatcha say?"

Gilda leered at the boy "It was my name first." she said venomously. Her own mace sparkled, just like his hand, a shield appearing around it's head. "You're a titan, right? That will do well, whole city will hear about this." She jumped off her perch upon the armored truck and leaned back on it, spreading her wings and clanging her gauntlet against the ruined vehicle "Watch and be amazed as THE ONE AND ONLY Harpy incapacitates a Titan...if he's lucky."

She smiled. "Option two, if you can still chew afterwards you can buy hotdogs for the both of us before I leave you on top of the tallest tower I can find." she said not yet striking a fighting pose. She didn't seem very stressed by the thought of fighting a titan, in fact, she seemed relieved. "Tell ya what, if you can leave a big mark on me. I'll let you go."

Toji glances down at his hand, seeing the lightning fade to sparks. Great...Nth metal...As red creeps in on the edges of his hair, he raises a brow."So you really wanna fight huh? Alright....Let's try to keep property damage to the minimum, OK?" Suddenly, he blurs in close, letting out a one ton punch.

Gilda frowns at his statement. He would have to be disappointed. Property destruction was part of Gilda's plan. She needed maximum destruction for maximum publicity. It was nothing personal, though she would enjoy every last piece of broken glass. Destruction was part of her nature. She loved breaking things, loved the feeling of it and the sound of it.

As Toji slipped forward she jumped to the side and let him punch the van, but it was already ruined. It hardly counted as more damage. She needed to do something REALLY booming. She set her feet, having only leaped a short distance, and swung her mace at him solidly, planning on knocking him into the car across the street.
"No deal."

One step at a time she would ruin this block.

Toji blinks as she slips aside."Eh?" Looking sheepishly at the brand new dent, he glances up in time to get blasted across the street, hammering into the thankfully empty vehicle. Lying in his crater of steel and plastic, the halfling cleverly reevaluates this particular foe."....Ow." Yep, that bout summed it up.Rubbing his chest, he hops out, glancing at her reproachfully."That looked to be a very nice car, you know. I'm gonna get a earful if the owner is some rich jerk."He blurs at her her again, eyes full of intent.....only to flip over the battered armored van, extracting the vulnerable guards and taking them to a safe spot. A few seconds later, his form skids to a stop in front of her as he flips, unleashing a spinning kick before falling onto his shoulders and rolling, unleashing rapid upwards kicks.

Gilda rolled her eyes. She wouldn't care, or listen to anyone trying to lecture her. She had better things to do, like sleeping. "Cars are for the weak anyways." she says happily. As he darted in the first time she readied a swing...for no reason. The boy had the audacity to go for the drivers before her.

Insulting.

She began to step towards him but was surprised by his next dash, catching a few kicks to the stomach. They hurt, but luckily her flight kept them from continuing. She continued the momentum given by his kicks and rose above them, throwing her mace down with ground shattering force.

Toji sighs, shrugging. He didn't exactly agree, but no big deal. Just stop her...As his attack semi fails, the boy's eyes widen at the sight of the mace streaking towards him. With a grunt, Toji pushes off the ground with his hands, spinning around and grabbing the handle of the weapon. Spinning a final time, he launches it back."Thanks, but I got my own weapon, and its cooler!!" Following the blunt projectile, the halfling unleashes a rapid flurries of 3 ton blows.

Gilda easily catches her mace, it seemed to be something she had done a thousand times, it was in fact. Her days of circus work were behind her but they were still helping her out! She spun the mace in her hand. Her eyes narrowed as he came near and, deciding to teach him a lesson about jumping into her skies, swung upwards. Besides her height giving her a bigger reach, her mace gave her even more of a reach on the boy. Four tons of force fired at the boy's chin, driving him upwards with a bright flash of electrical energy as she did so. "You want up, go up." she thought.

If she hit she would chase after him, through the air, doing her best to strike him back down where the pavement awaited him with unforgiving firmness

His eyes widen, and Toji quickly draws his tanto to deflect the mace. Thought it took the edge off, he was still rocketed into the air, stunned and in pain.Distracted by the agony pulsing through his jaw, the boy couldn't stop her from slamming him into the ground with a huge boom and a pained cry. Cracks run out from his point of impact, and for a second he lies deathly still...before picking himself back up.Toji stands, then chokes, falling to his knee as he wraps his arm around his midsection, shaking. Growling, he pushes his pain back,glaring at his opponent, and stands again, lightning coursing around him before he flash steps, reappearing behind her and letting out a 10 ton punch.

Combo achieved Gilda smiled, admiring her handiwork, the ruined road and the soon to be ruined hero. She knew that this hero was known for being one of the heavy hitters of the titans. If this wa the best they had, maybe she should have attacked them directly. Disappointment was her primary feeling until the boy suddenly disappeared. Then there was surprise. Her instinct as a warrior told him where he would go though. She moved to block but only finished half her swing before there was an impact. The mace broke the force but still was pushed back against her, sending her soaring through the air without control before she tumbled against the pavement, finally ending her fall in the windshield of a car. She pried herself out and stretched her wings, drops of blood falling from her back.

She was in pain, thinking there might be a crack or two in her shoulder, her ribs were definitely bruised but pain wasn't going to stop her. "You will live to regret that." she said, raising her mace slowly and sorely. She then bolted forward quickly. It wasn't a flash step, but she easily reached her prey in less than a tenth of a second, instead of her mace, she rose her gauntlet and slashed at him quickly, the claws raking at his chest.

Toji lands, snorting as she lands in the car. Shaking his hand out, he flexes it casually as she pries her self out, a near reckless grin coming onto his face as Okamian instinct comes to the fore." Ey, I did suggest we stay peaceful.Seems I might've marked you pretty badly there...Ya still good to fight, or you wanna quit?" Then he blinks in surprise as she dashes forward, clawing into his chest. Yelping, he dances backward, strips hanging down and revealing not just his new wounds,but a few of the scars across his torso."Awww maaaan....That's the third shirt this week..." Snorting, Toji blurs forward,flipping upside down and letting out rapid tornado kicks at 10 tons.

She gritted her teeth. She was going to teach this insect a lesson. No one could get away with taunting The Harpy. She relished the realization that she had drawn blood from her foe and smiled, "Looks like I'm the one who's marking you!" she said with a crooked smile. Her mace raced through the air and deflected the first kick. She hopped back to avoid the following few before ducking and swiping her mace at his head and arms, mostly to throw off of his balance. She the then kicked out swinging her leg to his side to throw him away from her and through a window, had to get a bit more damage done to the surrounding area after all!

She huffed,  "You last long than most the titans would...but we're matched, at best. All you're gonna do is help me ruin the place!"

Toji snorts."You ain't the first, and I doubt you'll be the last!!!"As she first deflects his kicks, then swings her mace at him, he draws his tanto, deflecting a couple of blows, but takes the kick, flying through the window with a oof.He climbs out, staggering slightly, and looks at her."Heh....no way....I've got you on the ropes....Just you wait...You'll be...surrendering soon enough."

"Looks like we thanagarians are made of sterner stuff than whatever you are." she said, smiling confidently. Her wings flared, spurring slight winds around her and stirring the dust. "We could go at this all day, but I'd be the one who didn't get tired, you're already breathing hard...is carrying around that thick skull too much for you?"" she said, laughing. "You titans are a joke. Be sure to run that by your leader next time you see her, alright?" she said, doing her best to taunt him into making a stupid move.

She was a more than capable warrior, but knew if he landed a direct hit on her she'd probably have to retreat....of course if he attacked wildly, and kept tiring himself out she wouldn't need to let it come to that. "shouldn't one of the others be here to babysit you anyways?"
