| Fen had just finished practice and was heading to his car. School hadn't been out long, it was a quick practice that was called on account of incoming rain. He was on his phone, trying to call Ella for the third time that day but only getting a voicemail again. He let out a frustrated sigh. It'd been almost a week since they'd hung out, and she was starting to go from making up excuses to ignoring his calls. What'd he even do wrong?
As if reading his mind, his phone buzzed the second before it was in his pocket and he quickly had it in front of him. When he saw it wasn't Ella, his expression dropped again. Mr. Black, with a mission of course. The text message read:
"A popular cheerleader from the neighboring high school has gone missing. Authorities have been called, but they have been getting reports that the girl is just sick. We are not convinced, but the police can't do anything without proof. Your job is to go to her house and find the proof. You will have a partner, Leonardo Callahan.. He is still at the school."
Attached was a picture of Leo and an address for the girls house. Fen shook away his sour mood, and went to search for his new partner.
"Leo?" | |

| Leo was sitting on the steps of the school. He was busy staring at his phone rather than talking with his friends in the popular circle. His stone face stared at his phone as he sent messages beck and forth with the cheer squad for info. Leo knew the person in question, in fact it was one of the girls he was actively pursuing recently. A girl named Jackie, a relatively nice person or at least she was if you weren't dumb enough to be a nerd or a snob. Personally he had planned on dating her only for an increase in status not cause of her 'beautiful personality'. Unfortunately since one cannot foster a relationship with a missing person the mission it was on hold.
So Leo wasn't exactly completely in the dark on the mission. It was quite annoying that his original plan was down the drain, but he had to admit that he like the attention it gave. It just didn't help that he was the last one to see her. Now that the mission had been given to him and whom he expected was a tracker. It was up to them to find Jackie. Hopefully Leo would also get an increase in status for it.
"Leo?"
Leo looked up to see a boy who looked like the picture in Mr.Black's text appear infront of him. Leo guessed that like him, the boy had been personally picked for the mission.
"Uhhh yeah, I'm Leo. So I'm guessing you're the one I'm working with today right?"
Leo would have added the boy's name but Leo wasn't exactly sure he remembered the boy's name. He thought it was Renrir, or something. Or maybe it was Ventir. Leo wasn't exactly sure, well it wouldn't have mattered. Leo thought that if it came down to it he would check Mr.Black's text again. It would be embarrassing for him to get his partner's name wrong after all.

| Fen spotted the kid quickly and was a little underwhelmed. He didn't look particularly useful, but that might have just been Fen's bad mood talking. He had to get his head right, this guy wasn't doing anything to annoy him. Not yet.
"Fenrir. You can just call me Fen though." He introduced as if he knew that Leo didn't know his name. He spun his hat around and put his hands in his pockets. "I can drive us to the place, we do some poking around. Should be easy enough right? Especially if she's actually just sick."
Fenrir wasn't looking to spend too much time here, especially if kids were still getting out. He wasn't proud to admit that a lot of the girls at the school had a crush on the star player of the football team. Usually they kept away because he and Ella were glued at the hip but rumors were already spread that the two were fighting.
"Come on. I'm parked in the lot."
He'd lead the way to his sleek black Hellcat that was his real baby. As they walk passed a group of girls staring at them and giggling, Fen sighed. "You know anything about the girl? This was my first time hearing about it."

| "Alright. Fen, lets get going then."
Leo said putting his hands in his pocket. Leo felt he should know that name. Right! it was the name of the star player of the football player. Leo really didn't care about that, what was important was that his girlfriend was that chick... what was her name? Leo had to think for a second. Ella! Right one of the first people Leo met when he started on the B-Team.
If it wasn't for Leo getting hurt and being out for a few months he would probably know of Fen. Honestly this was his second day back. All he could do was rebuild his status back to the third most popular kid in the school. So new objective, become friendly with Fen.
When he got to the parking lot he couldn't help but be impressed. Leo wasn't exactly rich so he could only dream of having a car like that. It would probably take him years to pay off the car if he was willing to take out a loan. Unfortunately that wasn't the matter at hand. A group of females began to pass the two. Leo immediately put on a warm smile and waved at them. It was always good for his rep if he was nice to unattractive females that passed.
" Nice wheels! Yeah I know a bit about the girl, her name is Jackie. She and I... well its complicated. All I know for now is that she is definitely missing. Her friends and her parents confirmed it. That and she hasn't texted me back... Like at all, and that is unlike her." he said returning back to his neutral face.

| Fen smirked when Leo complimented his car. This was a good start. Leo seemed like a nice enough guy, if only a little bit distracted by his phone too much. "So she's definitely missing... then why were the cops told she was just sick?"
Fen mused aloud, unlocking the door for them. He was no detective, but he figured their search should start with the parents. If they lied to the police, then they either had something to hid or they were being blackmailed by someone. Both were bad.
"Shotgun gets to tell me where to go, fair enough?" Fen offered, putting in some music but keeping the volume down. Not everyone liked his particular brand of very loud music.
When they got to the girls house, Fen would gladly walk up to the door, but he'd let Leo knock. They knew him at least. Or Fen assumed they did. He just hoped they were home and answered so Fen could start tracking down his own cheerleader.
Then Fen heard a loud crash inside that caught his attention. He looked to Leo, alarmed. "Should we go in? Maybe they just knocked the vase over?"

| Leo shrugged. He was alright with the terms. All he had to do was lead the way and he gets to ride shotgun in the the car. So it wasn't surprising that he was the one leading the way towards the house. Once they got the house, the sound of a crash could be heard.
"Well we might as well." he said.
Checking the door mat he found a key. Placing it in the lock it wasn't hard for him to open the door into the house. He allowed Fen to go first. He didn't want his face to be the first thing the parents see when he busts in to tell them he of all people would be looking for their daughter.

| Fen took the key that Leo had so usefully produced. With a breath, he went to unlock the door only to find that it was open the whole time. "What the hell..?" The lock was broken, pieces of the metal were on the floor and there was glass around too. "Uh oh..."
Fen would stay in front as he stepped into the house, his boots crushing some stray pieces of glass as he did and making a sharp crunch noise. "Now might be a good time to tell me what kind of powers you have. Miiiiiight be a life or death situation. You never know."
Fen himself put a clawed hand into the light for Leo to see his power. After they got a few steps in, the rain would start to fall outside. That's why practice was called. When they got in, they'd see dead plants that hadn't been watered for a while and the back door wide open. Someone left in a hurry.
"Hey, come on! Let's go!"
Fen would lead, again, trying to follow any trails left in the woods behind the house.

| Leo looked to see Fen display his powers. Leo was pretty surprised that his partner could control their transformation. Leo himself needed to use a special apparatus in order to activate his powers. So walking into the room, he thought it would be good to at least respond to Fen.
"Uhhh, I think that the best way to put it is that... my power isn't suited for combat like yours.. and its hard to explain. I was told I was the best suited for a worse case senario"
Leo said letting it go at that. Looking in the house the place was completely wrecked. Leo honestly couldn't fathom how something like this could happen. THe place was completely empty. Leo wondered if now would be a good time to check the answering machine. Maybe that would lead to a clue, and let leo delete some unwanted messages a friend of his left when he was drunk calling Jackie.
Yet it wasn't so. Fen had begun leading again. Who died and made him leader Leo thought. Unfortunately he decided against saying it lest he wanted to be ripped to shreads by Claw man over here.
"Right behind you!" he said following Fen into the woods. Fen was the tracker after all.

| The mission seemed to be more dangerous than Fen had initially planned. He was disappointed that they couldn't just get good news at the door and be on their way. Fen stopped at the back door, looking at the rain pouring. He hated to get wet. "We should call the police. If they were taken, and that's the kidnapper running away, then she might be in trouble."
Fen would let Leo do the calling. He seemed to be the phone guy. Fen wasn't looking forward to trying to track down a kidnapper in the woods.
"Since you don't have combat powers, if things get hairy I'll hold the line. You might need to tell the police where we're at though..." Fen sighed, shrugging. "We have to chase them. The police won't be here for a while."
Fen did take charge. He usually did. He didn't notice any annoyance coming from Leo, but if he did he'd probably apologize later.
"Let's go. Keep your head up, buddy."
Fen started off to the woods, the rain making tracking hard but not impossible. He was more annoyed that he was getting soaked.

| Leo looked at Fen with a`weird look. If the police was all it took to deal with this problem, then Mr.Black wouldn't have sent Leo and Fen. Either way, no matter how much Leo didn't want to admit it, Fen was going to be the leader on this mission. Pulling out his phone he texted one of his pals to tell them to send the police over by Jackie's house.
He watched Fen as he began to run through the forest. Leo couldn't help but sigh. He would have preferred to have a little time to investigate the premise rather than just simply running. Unfortunately due to the rain time would be of the essence. So all he could do was mumble.
"Looks like he is the overprotective type... Guess I better catch up."
Leo said pressing his watch. From there he began to easily move through the foliage. He was far enough for Fen to notice Leo following him but far enough so that he couldn't be seen using his powers. Leo had a feeling that it was better for him to stay back. Overprotective types tended to attract a lot of hardship. Leo would at least be able to save him so long as he stayed far enough back.

| Leo's call out was correct. Fen was the overprotective type. The type that ran into trouble head on if only to keep other people from taking his spot. He'd fight until he fell for strangers. It's just who he was. Especially if he felt challenged. Right now, he was certainly feeling challenged. Someone thought they could outrun him? In the rain? Doubt it.
"HEY!" He yelled, spotting someones shadow ahead. He started to sprint faster, but...
He slipped on a leave, and next thing he knew he was tumbling forward and crashing into the wet mud. He slid into a tree rather roughly, then growled. As he got up, he'd see Leo catching up. Fen was breathing a little heavy, from both frustration and being tired.
"...Let's go look for clues at the house. I lost him."

| Leo sighed. His deduction was correct, but that wasn't what was important. What was important was figuring out what exactly happened. Leo wouldn't say it out loud but figuring out what happened at the house was more important than tracking down whomever Fen was following. Without another word, Leo this time would be the one leading the two of them back to the house after he deactivated his power.
Once he got to the house he looked over at the stairway and looked back at Fen.
"We got about 20 minutes before the police arrive. By that time we will be kicked out of the crime scene and have absolutely no chance on being able to proceed. You take the downstairs I will take the upstairs. See what you can find." Leo said calmly.
He proceeded to make his way up the stairs and began to scan the room of interest. Jackie's room. Walking into the frilly pink room of his former objective he couldn't help but smirk. Didn't take her for the girly type. He thought. Though that was a good thing. It meant that somewhere there would be a diary. The question was, where?
As Leo moved through the room, he searched under pillows, blankets, and even book shelves. It was hard to find the diary. He continued to search until there was only one place left in the room. The closet.
Crash
A large crash sound resonated through the house. If Fen were to enter the room he wouldn't be able to see Leo. He would only see a mountain of clothing.

| Fen nodded, mad that he was so hasty in making choices. He needed to learn to relax and access the situation before he made hasty decisions. He searched the downstairs, listening to the voicemail as he did. Hopefully there was a clue there, at least. He didn't get much, mostly people hanging up after realizing they weren't home... and a drunk dial from one of Leo's friends.
"Heh..." Fen laughed to himself, deleting the message. "You'll owe me one, Leo."
Fen kept his search going. There were shoe prints all over the house, like there was a lot of people there recently and they were all covered in dirt. Before he could investigate more, he heard another crash upstairs. He hustled up to check it out, poking his head into Jackie's room.
"You're not doing a pantie raid are you?" But when he looked around, he didn't see Leo anywhere. "...Leo?"

| From under the mountain of clothing erupted a 17 year-old Leo. On his head was a laced bra and in his mouth was a pair of panties. Suffice to say he quickly spat it out. He was about to say something sarcastic until he found something strange in the bra. It was a card, not just any card but a business card. Picking it up, he would throw the card over to Fen to take a look at it.
"This give you any ideas? Can you track the scent or something?" he asked

| Fen caught the card easily, rolling his eyes but accepting Leo's situation. It was a card for a caterer and on the back were other numbers with labels like "grass, tabs, hookup" all followed by phone numbers.
"Track by scent? Like... a dog?"
Fen gave him a flat stare before smirking a bit. "No, I can't track scent. Let's dip before the police get here. Call some of these numbers or something... We'll be on the detective squad soon enough. I'll head the K-9 division, you can be their... social media director?"
Fen poked some fun,, but would offer a hand to Leo to help him up.
