Dea

Dea Angel_of_Fire_by_garun

===IDENTITY===

Full Name: Dea
Codename: None
Nickname(s): None
Alias(es): None
Age: 7 years old
Birth date: April 17th
Classification: Human?
Affiliation: Good

===PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION===

Hair Color: Auburn to red
Eye Color: Various hues of orange and yellow
Height: 3’ 7”
Weight: 50 pounds
Other:
Pale skinned and tiny frame.
When not consumed by her powers, Dea very much appears like a normal child. Wearing regular blue jeans and a ruffled lime green tank top and bright pink sweater that’s a bit too big for her small size. She wears light tan hiking boots preferably for better traction and better durability rather than crappy sneakers.
When Dea invokes her powers, her attire changes which reveals a more regal impression. A two piece red and golden gown complimented with arm length gloves and knee high leather boots. The locket around her neck and the golden threads embroidered through the material and hem of the skirts illuminate as Dea’s powers grow stronger when used.

===POWERS===

Powers:
Fire
Flames of Glory: Depending on Dea’s heightened emotions also determines the velocity of power from the streaming waves of fire that flow from Dea’s hands. She is capable of directing the streams in any direction and in a steady constant flow. The fire streams also add as a form of protection should Dea guide them to encircle around her body in what appears to be a cyclone of flames. Such would melt many forms of projectiles thrown her way, or melt flesh, or should one’s physical attack be armored, the flaming currents would intensify the metal coating with unbearable heat and burns.

Flames of Destiny: When under a greater threat of danger, or Dea’s own powers are spent, the locket around her neck suddenly snaps opens and an explosion of flames immediately erupts from within the heirloom to reveal a flaming form that much resembles a phoenix. It serves as Dea’s final act of attack and defense to bide herself time to flee and escape a situation one as small as her may become overwhelmed with, or simply thrown in a life or death situation. The phoenix form then blasts whatever threat there may be with hurling flames and a blinding light to temporarily haze an opponent from giving chase.

Intuition of truth: Dea’s impeccable instincts of others are what many would suggest as a sixth sense. It’s not what words that are spoken that Dea hears more clearly, but what truth lies within one’s voice. No matter how well one considers themselves an actor, she will most likely know they are lying, or holding something back, or manipulating the truth in any way. At times, Dea finds herself inflicted with visions contrary to what one is speaking of. This is not a constant ability, but only when Dea concentrates on it or she is so relaxed, the ability then works on its own without her invoking it.

Flight
An ability Dea came to discover by accident and still struggles to master. She is able to take flight directly upwards with ease, but guiding herself in various directions still poses difficulty. She has yet to discover if walking on walls or a ceiling is even possible since Dea has yet to discover the source of such ability within herself in order to control it to serve such needs. She will use flight to escape by any means, no matter how out of control she finds in taking direction at any speed necessary.

Healing: Although Dea is ignorant of her origins, the ability of swift healing has been passed onto her whether by means of inheritance, or by yet another ability she’s still learning about herself. Scrapes, cuts, and bruises heal almost instantaneous. Broken bones, burns, severe gashes take but moments of annoyance. This does not, however, prevent Dea from feeling pain to the fullest extent of whatever injury, but she is able to heal others just the same and as quickly as the ability works upon herself.

===PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE===

Likes:
Learning new things
Any form of adventure
Traveling
Meeting new people ((so long as they’re friendly))
Being independent
Getting the upper hand over any adult
Animals
Chocolate!

Dislikes:
Liars
Those attempting to control her life simply because she’s a child
Being told what she “can’t” do
Being treated like a child
Ignorant and selfish people
Bullies
Being bored
Spinach and Lima beans!

Strengths:
Dea is exceptionally strong willed and a tad bit arrogant about it. She can very well use words as weapons since many underestimate her mind because she is so young. Her powers grow at an alarming rate by either herself growing physically, or when under extreme emotional strain.

Weaknesses:
Dea’s small child frame makes her quite vulnerable against those naturally bigger than she is, namely adults, so she is unable to physically overpower most foes she may come up against. Since Dea’s powers are still growing as she is, they don’t last as long, or she may need a moment’s rest before using them again. The longer she can manage to rest though, the stronger her powers will build up to use once more.

Skills: Dea thinks thoroughly first before acting out should she find herself in a confrontation that would involve using her powers. She is mindful of the extent of what she can do and strives to use caution first before acting out foolishly. Being of small size, Dea must also think ahead and improvise, or use more creative tactics against those who mean to do her harm, so a more unexpected retaliation of surprise may be her form of attack if forced into a fight.

Equipment: Golden locket she wears around her neck

Habits/Quirks:
Always asking questions, even if such a time or situation is inconvenient for them. Dea also tends to speak her mind, no matter how rude she may sound. She is often blunt and to the point, where many misconstrued her as being an impolite child, when she is simply being open and honest, rather than beating around the bush as most adults do. She often fidgets when she’s nervous about something, or if she becomes frightened or terrified, sometimes chews on her fingernails.

Personality:
Dea is quite the inquisitive and optimistic child, but she is in no way as gullible as most children her age. Her maturity is well matched to that of an adult, and her hidden wisdom would surprise many on the rare occasion she reveals that aspect of her persona. Although Dea prides herself with having such unique abilities, she in no way ignores the child she still naturally is. At times, she’s even articulate enough to know how to use her child demeanor to bypass certain situations or to simply get her way of things. She is slightly arrogant, but not out of pride of being different, but for being her own self, in control of her own life, and making her own decisions without being told by others what she should or shouldn‘t do. At times, Dea may appear mysterious when it comes to private issues. She adamantly claims knowing nothing of her origins, but chooses words which reveal either ignorance or secrecy.

===PERSONAL BACKGROUND===

Family: Unknown
Place of Origin: Unknown
History:
All Dea has ever known of herself besides growing up in a small town orphanage was her name. A simple gold locket with the name “Dea” engraved into the surface was tied about her wrist when she was left at the establishment just weeks old and frail. There was no note, nor other information provided within the basket of bundled blankets she was securely wrapped in. Yet Dea knew she was different, as did those around her also knew. Her sense of consciousness and awareness developed at an early age, far more younger than a regular child, as well as her ability to begin speaking. By the age of two, Dea could very well carry out small conversations. Her powers appeared subtle at first and shrugged off as mere circumstances or accidents until they became stronger and more frequent as Dea grew in age. Random fires and a four year old floating up to the roof simply couldn’t be ignored as a hoax or parlor tricks any longer.

It came to the decision of everyone’s safety that led Dea to be transferred to a more secure facility where such oddities could be properly observed and cared for until she reached maturity and she could care for herself. This was how Dea learned of the true nature of lies and those who spoke them so freely with comforting smiles. But she was a bright child who knew to play along and bide her time until the opportune moment presented itself for her to flee these lab coats and military personnel to where freedom called her name.

It was then the voices began. They spoke first within her dreams. Dea instinctively believed the two she heard were her parents, somehow guiding and directing her from where they couldn’t reach her with their arms. She never once believed they were dead although she was told they were from the very moment she could understand the words. And now she could hear them, just slight, and at the most unexpected moments, but enough to hear their messages clearly. It was how she came to escape successfully in whatever facility it was the adults harbored her within.

For three years Dea lived secluded from life and what all life had to offer to a child starving for answers as well as adventure. Deprived from daylight, moonlight, the wind, the colors, the scents of the world, Dea was bound and determined to win her freedom again and live by her own means. And that she did with a victorious smirk one single night as she made her way through air ducts and construction chutes until she tumbled out into an awaiting garbage bin. It wasn’t the first aroma Dea expected when taking her first breath of freedom, but with her newfound powers now strong enough to carry her away, Dea took flight from the prison of guards and researchers. Had she been bitter or vengeful, Dea may have left a farewell message of her own in a wake of destruction, but she knew herself to be a more remarkable child, leaving the pompous adults with silence and the dumbstruck reality that they all had been outsmarted by a mere child.

For now, Dea ventures on her own, in search for answers, yet unable to find a starting point save for the orphanage she was left to. Unfortunately, upon her return there, Dea found her old home abandoned and with no clue as to the whereabouts of those once there who tried to raise her. It is at this pinnacle of her life, Dea is left with no direction to take, and so she simply follows in whatever direction the wind carries her, or by whatever message she may hear from those who bore her within her dreams.

Sample RP

Yet another sunrise greeted her with glorious orange hues that so matched the various shades of her own imploring eyes while the newborn day slowly stretching across the sky as if a it were a bare canvas awaiting the upcoming splendor of colors. And she greeted every sunrise with unbound enthusiasm and breathless awe, giving each one she bore witness to as if it were the very first Dea ever witnessed. Such a grandeur miracle should never be taken for granted. Such was mother’s words…or so Dea wanted to believe the voice was her mother’s.

“Do you see, Dea? How each is so different from the last? How each rise speaks to the sky so differently, as if in a whole new language of colors all it’s own simply for you to decipher…to see in your own light…”

Dea hated to blink. Even though sunrises took their meticulous time in perfection, she feared missing the slightest shift in colors should she waste the millisecond of time for such a bothersome reflex. As the sun continued it’s rising course, it’s waking light also spread across the domain Dea now found herself in. Just another city, no different from the countless one’s she’d seen in her short years of life. Same bland buildings, same towering steel structures, same shapes, same lifeless bricks. Only the sun gave them any sign of life, any shine of brilliance, to shower them with the illusion that such buildings even belonged within the glorious presence of the rising sun. And she plopped herself upon the tallest one, sitting right along the edge as she always did while dangling and swinging her feet about like an eager child awaiting a grand circus show or thrilling movie.

It wasn’t long before the city itself awakened and consumed all of the attention for itself by the rising bustling of noise carried up by the wind to drift into ears and once again remind her that she had no choice but to join in the chaos of life below if she were to eat and find her next course of action. But she found this city to be the rudest thus far and simply scowled down at the streets below.

“Take courage…take heart…do what you must…”

Her small chest puffed up, and then Dea slumped with a heavy sigh by hearing her father’s voice. It didn’t matter how calm and confident he sounded, Dea simply didn’t feel the same. And again, the same question whispered away from her lips… “Can you even hear me? Why does it feel like you don’t…” And again, as always, silence was the answer. Or at least from whom she wanted to hear.

“Hey kid! Whudd’ya doin’ up here? How’d you even get up here in the first place?”

Startled by being discovered in what should have been the very last place any adult would think to find a child, Dea turned to look over her shoulder with an alarming expression to see a rather portly man charging up after her and looking quite angry as well. He was dressed in what looked like a janitor’s overalls and his filthy boots stomped against the cement rooftop with every step toward her. And now the sun’s full morning rays were beaming against his bald head like a beacon meant to direct helicopters to land.

She swiftly shuffled onto her feet and stand, finding herself too stunned to think of what to do being caught so unaware. Instincts broke through the numbness, revealing clarity and rationality that this was just an annoyed adult who would simply escort her off of the roof and most likely out of the office building she obviously didn’t belong in. So Dea chose to bite down on her tongue and hold true to silence as well as harbor her pride for being caught just as the middle aged man lashed out and snatched her small arm. His grip was like a painful vice that clamped down against her arm just before he jerked her too harshly away from the edge and knocking her off balance. She let out a cry of pain and alarm when she thought she would fall against the cement of the roof, but the janitor simply jerked her body upright in midair to slam her back onto her feet and then drag her off in a rush.

“…tired of you little punks thinking’ you can go and do whatever you please…”

Her feet desperately tried to keep up, but it was if this man were going purposely fast to make her stumble so he would have the satisfaction of jerking her small body about again. It was when they came to the staircase, Dea sensed it before he carried out his next display of abuse. She could actually see herself soaring down the first flight when he spoke his annoyance out loud. He was going to throw her…. Just as she felt his arm swing and her body went forward when his hand released her, Dea’s instincts kicked in and so did her powers. She continued forward as was the janitor’s intent, but Dea’s body never soared toward the stairs for the painful fall. Instead, she coasted graceful to the landing before the next flight of stairs, then lifted her face to scowl up at the adult who meant her harm.

“You sir, do not handle a child in such a way!” Her voice maybe young, but she forced what authority she could muster as her hands clenched up in tight little fists at her side. “I can find my own way out…” She sneered at him with disgust before turning so abruptly that her auburn hair snapped lightly against the air. Just as she began to storm down the narrow staircase on her own, she heard his gruff cursing as those heavy work boots came storming down after her. Her arm was latched into his grip again only now to find her entire body being shaken violently as he spit out accusations in her face. “You’re one of those FREAKS I hear about, aren’t you!? I SAW what you did! What else can you do!? I SWEAR I’ll beat it outta’ you!! I got people that’ll PAY good money to get their hands on freaks like YOU!”

Dea was far too consumed by shock, and being shaken about so terribly that she couldn’t grasp a coherent thought in order to react or try to defend herself. And his hold on her now was far more painful than before which led her to scream, with no one to hear even the echo of it carried down levels below. His threats continued to bellow against her ears and the fear consumed her entirely that nothing else was left but for instincts to take over when the voice rang through her mind to do so. “Do what you must!”

The powers ignited so suddenly, Dea gasped in alarm as her eyes now illuminated in flames of their own. Her free hand shot against the man’s wrist where he gripped her arm so painfully, only to now hear his own screams suddenly fill the corridor as his hand finally released her. Instead of taking the stairs down where she still find herself trapped should he still choose to chase her, Dea shot her small frame around him and tore back up the stairs and through the door to reach the rooftop again. She could hear his screams follow behind her, but his burning flesh slowed him down as he cradled his wounded arm against his chest. Dea didn’t dare look back as she ran. She ran as fast as her legs would carry her toward the edge without slowing or pausing in thought. Escape was foremost in her mind now and by any means to achieve it. Her body fell over the edge and within moments, she was now soaring through the air as if uncertain of her coarse but struggling to reach the next rooftop. Once her feet touched the surface, Dea was running again until she had to soar for the next building, and the next….

Finally spent and feeling safe enough to look back at her assailant, he appeared no more than a speck of dirt in the distance. Gasping for air, her eyes narrowed… how she could’ve hurt him so much more….how people like him who judged her as a freak infuriated her… and how sometimes, she imagined doing far more harm to those such as him. But just as the hostility tried to simmer in her gut, the wind came to embrace her, and even without hearing her mother’s voice, Dea knew the embracing wind was sent from her.
