Slow Start (Open)

Today was a looooooooovely day, Kane was getting off to the peeeeeeeeerfect start to the week, it was a super gloomy day and Kane was feeling bad, after what had happened at the Airport, Kane hadn't been his usual happy go-lucky self. When the truck zoomed past him, shooting at a boy running beside it, Kane almost didn't want to go after it, but he couldn't just ignore it.

Kane ran away, pretending to just be scared, people laughed at him but he just ignored them. He ducked into an alley once no one who was at the scene would be able to see them and quickly got changed. Soon he jumped out the alleyway, dashing upwards so he had an eagle eye view of the nearby area.

He spotted the car from above and dashed, using his powers over the air as well as his enhanced jumping ability, he kept up with it quite easily. He started dashing in the air so that he was above the van as it drove along, then he suddenly rebounded off the air and crashed down onto the truck, stomping it under his foot.

He did that to get their attention, then he jumped off with an enhanced jump, landing several feet in front off the van. He raised his leg into the air and just before the van slammed into him, he met it with a side kick. The front of the van crumpled under the force of his foot and the men were slammed into the dashboard, should have been wearing a seatbelt You have one chance to surrender and let the police take you away he was not in the mood to make a witty one liner.

Kane had, quite literally, stopped the truck. The man fell out of the van, but he did not surrender, but Kane was willing to give him a chance, he was so disoriented that he probably couldn't say anything right now. He noticed another hero zoom onto the scene, but he was a little too late, Kane didn't say anything to him, he just waited for the man to recover, not knowing that reinforcements had been called for.

Alas! Reinforcements arrived, as several cars - all identical in model, and color came to a screeching halt surrounding the two heroes. From the cars came a fairly big number of individuals, wearing similar attires and each wielding a weapon of some sort. This was... not good. Manic sighed as he glanced around before looking towards his makeshift teammate. "I hate Monday mornings...". Meanwhile the other thug fell out of the trucked, greeted by his comrade who helped him up. They were in need of regrouping as well. All those without a weapon would instead be put to use taking the bags of money from the truck, and placing them into their own vehicles.

Kane noticed the reinforcements surrounding them, he sighed like they were tedious Oh no, more guys he spoke without enthusiasm, like he was saying 'more homework' or 'more chores'. He noticed guys running towards the van, obviously trying to get the swag while the others fought the heroes.

Kane was there in a second, kicking a man in the chest and sending him flying so hard he crashed into someone else and they were both knocked out. Guys started firing at him, but he he easily avoided them, some of them hit each other. A man who was going for the loot bravely swung a punch at him, to which Kane responded by dodging and sending him flying into another guy.

Kane of course took time to avoid the endless barrage of gunfire that came at him, he couldn't balance stopping people from taking the loot and avoiding these guys, he had to do something Hey, speedy guy! Can you take out these guys!?! I have an idea but these guys are in the way

"...do ...do not call me that". Ugh, 'Speedy', what an awful moniker to have. Even 'Sonic the Hedgehog' is better. Still, it was only right to lend a hand. Before anything else could be said, Manic had seemingly disappeared into a green-blue blur as he ran from group of men to group of men, all the ones who were with firearms, shooting towards Kane. In seconds they all appeared to be unarmed, their guns taken away from them. Manic was away for a few moments, disposing of the guns, but soon returned, near to Kane. "...aaaaaaaaaaand done! Woo!". And then it dawned on Manic. They were unarmed now, but that didn't stop them from fighting back. More to join the cause of getting the cash back to their boss, at this point is was more of 'grab what you can', rather than them targeting the full amount.

The speedy guy disarmed all the guns, perfect, the guys could still attack them, but that didn't matter. To get to the swag they had to get to the van, and to get to the van they had to get through Kane, and that was just not happening. One man ran at him and Kane simply dodged his feeble punch and kicked him in the chest, sending him into the crowd of thugs and knocking them down like bowling pins, but there was still plenty more. Kane could beat them himself, but with so many of them it would take him all day.

Manic stood there for a while, looking on as Kane dealt with thug after thug. It was almost like one of those old Japanese Kung Fu movies with Ninja's. Where they take a punch or two, before flying back onto the floor and roll out of the scene; only to be replaced by another. Intriguing. But then one had worked his way around towards Manic, screaming at the speedster as he charged towards him. At the very last second, Manic moved out the way and left the thug to run into the side of the van face first, falling over as a result. "Ouch...". Manic said, stood over him with a smile spread across his face. In a jolt of acceleration Manic sped towards the thugs that Kane was dealing with. He ran right through them, with the force of him running causing them all to be knocked through the air somewhat, and to the ground. He came to a skidding stop eventually, yards in front of Kane. "You wanna call the 'boys in blue'? I'm sure we can keep these guys floored for a while".

Suddenly Kane was glad he wasn't fighting alone, he had no way of taking these guys down other than taking them all out one at a time, but even in his bad mood he had to be impressed with how Manic took out so many thugs at once, but he still didn't say something witty like he normally would have Yeah, that would be a good idea

He took out his phone, a simple old fashioned one which he only used for calling the police while he was out as Kicker, it would be stupid to use his personal phone after all. He dialled the police and sighed, before he put on a voice that sounded really happy go lucky and enthusiastic, anyone who had ever met him would know this was his usual voice Eyyyyyyyyy, it's me, Kicker, registered hero and all around great hero! Me and my buddy here have got a little bank robber problem, send down some officers and a few vans, there are quite alot of guys here. K? Baiiiii!

Manic was relieved that the other hero had a phone. See, he forgot his, unfortunately, as he hasn't really needed to use it as of yet. In the distance, the sound of sirens blaring as they departed the police station and headed for the location of this not so little incident. It had caused some panic among the thugs, each scrambling to their feet and then attempting to reach their vehicles. Problem was, Manic kept dashing from thug to thug, knocking them back down, and they kept on getting up - never give up, that's what kids are taught, right?

Just in case a thug got back to their vehicles by some miracle, they would find that Kane had been busy while Manic was taking them out, their vehicles had been disabled. When I say that, you may be expecting slashed tires, but what Kane had done was knocked them all on their backs and crushed their parts, they looked around, the hope draining from their eyes before they got taken out by Manic before they could think to just run for it.

Soon the boys in blue arrived, they all overlooked the scene, they had brought several prison vans and several officers. They all rounded up the downed bank robbers and took them away. Most of the police officers thanked kicker, some even gave him high gives, apparently he was very popular among the police. Kane returned their admiration half-heartedly. Soon, the police had taken the thugs away, Kane walked over to Manic Hey, thanks for the assist, you were really helpful

It wasn't the most calm, or dignified apprehension of criminals. Some remained rather rowdy, making it difficult for the cops to drag them into the back of the vans. Manic could swear he even heard one proclaim; "I'll get you! ...speedster!". Hopefully that guy doesn't have a freak accident and end up with Anti-Speed powers.

"Huh?". Manic said initially, his focus having been on the police as they left. They were... 'nicer' than before, didn't ask questions, thankfully. Manic soon turned to Kane, responding properly. "Anytime brah, any time... though I don't do weekends. Tend to find there are a lot more heroes around then, rather stay out the way".

Kane nodded at his response, but he wasn't really paying attention, his mood really HAD taken a huge hit for him to not be engaging in conversation, normally he was a huge chatterbox. He looked to the distance, not really at anything in particular, he wouldn't stick around much longer if there was no reason for him to.

Manic saw a few police officers walking his way, and immediately decided to bale - running off into the distance as just a blur. He wasn't in the mood for taking questions, nor giving answers right now. He had work today as it is, best not waste anymore time.
