Strong Man Rising (EW, Nornir)

Jenny was walking to her hotel room to go sleep this being her only free time for a while and even though she hated doing it she decided she'd take the day off patrolling to get some sleep. she walked up to her room unlocking the door as she heard about some commotion in the city that was causing many people to get injured and some killed.

Jenny paused before she entered her room getting her hero gear on quickly. She opened her window pulling on her mask and closed her eyes focusing her powers making her hair turn blue she opened her eyes and the pupils were now blue as well as she flew out closing her window. She quickly flew over and landed on an ambulance that was starting to go much faster than she could fly hurrying to the scene. Jenny stood on the ambulance as it quickly drove down to what was going on.

As far as unusual calamities go, an unexpected tidal wave was probably the weirdest that Reese has had the displeasure of having to personally experience so far. She was there, minding her own business, when it hit. And like most of the others that were caught up in it, she was there in the water when it receded. This being the second water-related incident she's been in this week, she made a mental note to stay away from bodies of water for a while.

Unsurprisingly, she had been able to keep her head the entire time it was happening, but her fellow victims were not as calm. There was much panic and scrambling to make it back to dry land. Others desperately looked for things to grab onto while waiting to be rescued. She figure she may as well give them a hand. The closest was about a dozen meters to her left. A mother and child were clinging onto a broken plank. She swam over to them and offered to take the child to safety.

"Hold on tightly."

She rolled up her sleeve, revealing a line launcher fitted on her arm. She aimed at one of the structures still standing on the docks and shot. Once the line was secure, it quickly reeled her in back on land where she left the child in the care of some paramedics who had arrived in ambulances. She intended to dive back into the sea and pick up the mother in the same way, but by this time, the coast guard was already at work at the scene. No sense doing work someone else can do better. She at least waited nearby until parent and child could be reunited, humbly refusing their thanks.

The rescue was underway be she still couldn't shake that bad feeling that it wasn't over yet.

Jenny flew off the ambulance over to a group of people in the water taking out her mini scythes making them into the larger form. She held the center of it with both hands lowering it down. "hey guys grab on but not the blades don't want any of you getting cut." They did so and jenny began to fly forward to shore pulling the civilians with her quickly to sore and landed when they were all up and safe on shore. She was checking if they were okay with the next tidal wave came in Jenny blinked eyes going wide but she didn't have to order anyone to run they already were. Jenny quickly ran with them grabbing two people at a time flying being faster than running over to safety quickly grabbing more the wave closing in still so many in danger.

Reese unconsciously bit her lip. The turn of events pretty much confirmed someone was behind the wave, though God knows how they're doing it. And they were armed with some quality fireworks too. All the makings of bad day and this was definitely one of the worse ones. Sure she was a hero, but this was the kind of disaster best left to the top dogs of the superpower industry.

Those who managed to get on vehicles were fine, but those who didn't headed inside a warehouse for cover, Reese being among them. Once inside, they scrambled for higher ground, fully knowing the entrance wasn't going to hold against that volume of water. Unfortunately, stairs inside a warehouse weren't made for large amounts of people and the crowds were held up.

"Close the shutters!"

"They'll never hold! The wave will break right through it!"

"You can leave that part to me! You go and help the others get to higher ground."

Reese suddenly glowed yellow, silencing the man's protests. Realizing she was a metahuman, there was a good chance she knew what she was doing, was his thought. Nodding, he did what he was told as Reese positioned herself next to the shutter and pressed her back against it.

Moments later, the warehouse shuddered as the wave slammed at it. There were muffled cries upon seeing the water seep from under the shutter, but the shutter itself did not break behind Reese's back. Seeing that they were safe, there was a round of cheers and clapping. Reese wasn't a fan of getting this much attention. She pulled her cap down even lower to hide her face. But the part that could be seen was a smile of relief.

Jenny panted as the tide went back so many people dead. She looked up to the sky as the metal objects smashed into the warehouse. Jenny watched as the jet disappearing narrowing her eyes before looking to those she rescued. "Go as far from the docks as far as possible and as fast as possible now." They did so and she looked to the warehouse as she heard chain saws and her eyes widened as she flew into the warehouse.

Jenny looked to Reese seeing that she kept the water out and nodded to her to say good job before she rushed upstairs charging up her energy her eyes turning completely light blue glowing brightly. "Hey buzzbot!" She shot a full powered beam of energy out from her eyes at its head quickly trying to hit it before the man was killed.

Reese already figured earlier that the watery crisis was unnatural. Her inference was confirmed by the appearance of a new threat almost as soon as the waters subsided. Whoever it was wanted to make a statement and crashing in from the roof was one way of doing it. Two unidentified objects made an entrance and as soon as they hit the ground, they revealed their true form: robots.

Robots were tricky to deal with. There were many ways to take down humans and render them ineffective. But it was difficult to tell if certain moves or actions actually "hurt" a robot. Wrong or hasty assumptions meant you were going to have a bad time. A second hero had appeared and went to deal with the robot near the staircase, leaving Reese with the one further in the warehouse.

Like its fellow machine, the second robot was already on its feet, ready to cause havoc. Reese ran in front of it to grab its attention while the frantic crowd tried to get away. She pulled out her expandable baton from her jacket pocket and extended it. She wasn't sure what good it would do against such an opponent but it was better than being unarmed. Still surrounded by her usual yellow aura, she prepared to intercept.

Jenny made the man and the others go down stairs and out of the way of the fight not wanting to endanger them. She watched as it got up looking it over and studying it carefully as she saw it attack her. Jenny was quick on her feet leaping out of the way as she charged up energy her arm glowing as she sent a full powered energy blast at the robot.

Reese was gifted with a sort of "precognition" when it came to hostile intentions. The beam that the robot was charging up was bad news. In an effort to throw off the mechanical menace, dashed to one side even before the death ray started firing. A sustained beam? She knew just what to do about it. She aimed her line launcher at the cannon and fired. Once the line was latched on, she pulled with all her might, redirecting the torrent of energy... right at the other robot.

Energy Warrior looked at the hole the beam made then at the remains of the robot grinning as she ran and jump down the hole looking at reese and her robot. "Thanks for the help nice mind if I give you a hand?" Energy Warrior said as she quickly flew up over the arc and dropped looking to reese and would run over to either catch her and put up a force field around them to break the fall of the crates or put a force field up around them to block the chain saw as she opened up the back of t so reese could get out and attack if she wanted to.

The robot was stronger than she was. That much was obvious. Reese had no intention of continuing to hold on after the deed was done, cutting the line before the machine had the chance to throw her around. She would not be allowed to get off lightly though as the robot immediately followed up with a swing from its buzzsaw. Calmly, she raised her hand to stop it but a shield of some sort appeared between them before the blade could make contact. It was the other hero returning the favor with an assist of her own.

Reese looked up and acknowledged with a quick salute before resuming her own assault. She quickly ducked and rolled to avoid the spinning robot's arms and then shot another line from between its legs. The end latched onto the robot's arm while Reese wrapped the other end around the robot's leg. The robot would end up wrapping itself and falling over if it continued to spin.
