Seismic Temors(pm)

A small Zydon ship shook it's way through the atmosphere and landed in the middle of the bridge.


A voice rang out over the bridge. It had a light Russian accent to it. As Zydon jumped out of the ship it became obvious that the bridge was under attack, if it wasn't obvious already. Quake jumped out of the the ship and landed, one of her needles pierced through the pavement of the bridge like it was no more than flesh.

She then punched her other hand into the pavement and shot her needle out into the pavement once again. Soon what she was doing became obvious as the entire Bridge began groaning and twisting to the point that most of the cars were falling off or on the edge of the bridge. Soon the entire bridge would fall into the ocean and one of Jump cities great travel ways would be useless.

The Zydon were making a move.

Aiyana had been exploring the area near the bridge. She was staring at it with awe and curiousity. She'd never seen a bridge before, well except for the small one in the park, but this one was enormous and beautiful. As she rested her elbows on the fence looking off towards the bridge, she slowly began to straighten up as she felt the ground start to shake. She looked down to see rocks and peddles shake and bounce across the pavement. The ground shaking worsened and she looked up in time to feel a huge tremor. She lost her balance and fell to her knees and that same moment she saw the bridge begin to collapse. Her eyes were wide, her face filled with horror, as she heard people panic and scream, and the screeching and crumbling of the bridge.

She staggered up and began to make her way towards the fallen bridge, pushing through the people were running and panicking.

The braves were ready to fight, even on the now rough and wobbly surface of the bridge. They charged towards Aiyana, running around any cars that were still left near the middle of the bridge. On the way, however, two were thrown off the edge to the bridge, only leaving three. Quake internally smiled 'Whoops' she thought before focusing, once again, at the task at hand.

The two braves, surprisingly, didn't attack. They merely waited, a good few hundred feet from Quake, whose portion of the bridge now looked like gravel piled on thicker gravel. Soon the bridge would fall and the mission would be complete.

It was a nice day, maybe slightly chilly as Flux boarded the bus on fifth street. She'd just spent the better part of a day wandering her new stomping grounds on patrol, and it hadn't been terribly interesting, but she was ready now to go home for some well-earned rest when...


The glass on the bus began to rattle, right next to her head. At first she ignored it, but... It got more and more intensive, until it was clear this wasn't normal! She lifted her head! An earthquake? Now?! Cars were stopping, people were already murmuring in uneasiness, and as Flux rose from her seat in her hoodie and jeans over her formed suit, she grit her teeth. This... Could be bad. The bridge started to lurch and sway and move, and it was all Flux could do to keep her grip! Holy cow!

Flux made her way towards the front of the bus... And close to the end of the bridge was a solitary female figure she couldn't really make out, but she was hunched. Two massive figures were plainly visible though, and as the bridge started to really wiggle, the bus capsized hard. Crap.

The world went... Insane for a moment or two, and everything was a confusing jumble as up became... Sideways, and all the windows shattered, letting in the screams of panicking people and terrified pain all around her.

And one word floated to the surface from the depths of Flux's mind into a calm spot that had nothing in the world to do but listen.

Zydon. Doublecrap!

She had to get out of this bus, but at least it wasn't flipping anymore. It wasn't the work of a moment to soften herself, her body seeming to deflate beneath her clothes as orange slime escaped from the hoodie and jeans, leaving them behind - she'd get them later.

Orange sludge surged out from beneath the bus, and quickly took the shape of a young woman again. Right in time to get a face-full of angry Brave. He was... Huge, hulking head and shoulders over her, he'd seen her plainly, and even now was winding one massive meaty paw back to smash her into paste.

And smash her he did - she had no time to react. But maybe it didn't go quite how he hoped, because all he accomplished was he made her splatter over his arm. He yelped out in surprise when her face formed on his arm, a torso, and an arm that took up almost all the rest of her entire mass. Her fist bulged almost comically and should have made a 'shing!' sort of noise as it flashed into solid.

"That wasn't very nice! and slammed him, right in the face. Strength had nothing to do with it. He was... certainly stronger than her but he was off balance, and the fist weighed more than his head. So he did what any physical-laws abiding citizen would do - he fell flat on his face, knocked off his feet!

By the time she got off him he was already cursing and trying to sort out which direction was up. Couldn't have that... That armor had tanked that hit - it was her fist that had cracked. Gulp. So, she grabbed him by the hip, and threw her other hand back, extending it to a support beam. Her arm streeeeetched and grabbed the metal, gripped, grew sticky... Then her entire body shifted into a thick cord along the line and with a loud TWANG became firm and elastic... and under a lot of strain. Sproing! And off the bridge he went.

As Flux reformed again, clinging by her handhold to the edge, she called after him "Have a nice trip! See you next fall!" and climbed back onto the bridge, her body undulating and moving with the concussive waves of earthquake energy. When she got on the street ahead of the traffic though, and the waves started pounding into her though, the vibrations made her whole form warp and undulate alarmingly, disorienting her as she leaned into them. Holy crap! Would she not get there in time to stop that woman who was causing all this?

Aiyana looked ahead to catch a glob of...wait was that a girl? Aiyana had never seen anything like it. The girl stretched and reformed like the moss that hung at the edge and bottom of the deep lakes in her forest, but it wasn't miss...it was stickier and orange looking. Aiyana saw her fling one of the zydon Braves away and off the bridge. That left one more brave and the earthquake lady to deal with, the other brave though, was now running at Aiyana at full force as he saw his comrade had already been thrown off the scene. The earthquake lady was also busy with a new arrival, a girl who held two blades in her hands, she was extremely charming but also stern and stiff. Aiyana looked at the charging Zydon and spread her arms out and then swooped them in in a scissors type motion, and with that the ground under the Zydons feet shifted causing the zydon's legs to cross then trip over his own feet. "Sorry." Aiyana didn't really know why she was apologizing but falling while being so big and bulky looked painful, and looking how huge he was Aiyana wondered if it would even be able to get up. The Zydon got up rather quickly to her surprise and stretched out an arm towards her, he blasted a few lasers her way. Aiyana covered her face with her arms as she saw the blasts coming, and without realizing, created a wall in front of her made of road.

One brave left. That was annoying. For an invading force Quake considered these Zydon to be ridiculously weak. Of course, that might just be because she could pierce their armor at any time. None of the Zydon here had been killed by the opponents at hand. They would all live to fight another day. Quake still had to fight though.

Quake pulled her needles out as one of her opponents rushed forward, stopping the vibrations and parrying the swords and then jumped into the air, kicking at the girl. Quake's toes were perfectly made to rend through flesh, concrete and even steel but since her vibrations were engaged, they could pierce nearly anything.

She kicked out at Elysium with two powerful strokes before twisting and thrusting her needle into the ground to produce a strong and soul shaking shockwave to knock the girl back and, unless she had changed angles, to the Zydon Brave who would respond to her with a strong punch as he got up then, instead of continuing fire at Aiyana's earth shield, fired at Flux in a hope to take out an enermy as quick as possible. If she HAD changed angles she would have to watch for the edges of the bridge or cars in the way of her forced retreat. "You'll never vin like That." she said, a strong Russian accent evident in her voice as she laughed.

"Vatch me dahnce!" she said, making a run at Aiyana and delivering a kick that would pierce straight through the pavement guarding her.

The one Brave left was injured now. No more Braves, that was for sure, Elects or even Coverts from now on. She would be sure to tell the Zydon about how pathetic their soldiers were. First she had to deal with a large glob of jelly though. Jump City always had something to pull from its sleeve.

Quake dropped to a slide as soon as the blob entered her vision but was still clipped on the shoulder and knocked to the side, off target, rolling on the ground. "Disgusting." she muttered about the orange blob before standing once again.

Thankfully the brave, doing his best to disengage the swordswoman by using his jetpack, was there to help her recovery by firing multiple shots with his blaster, hitting Aiyana's shield a few more times before switching aim over to the disgusting orange blob of ew. Quake used this time to merely stand up and regain her poise, taking a look at her surroundings and picking her next target.

Flux rolled to a stop and reformed just in time to see the brave level his weapon at her as he boosted upwards - then get it jammed full of sword. Huh. Well, thank you mysterious... goddess, appearantly. She'd only taken her eyes off the fight for a second but a second's further glance told her she would only be in the way of the goddess as she fought the needle-wielding zydon menace. No, she couldn't get involved with that one.

Instead then, she jerked her head back up to the flying Zydon. Her feet pounded the pavement, and her hands shot out to grab bridge supports. With a sudden jerk, she put them under elastic tension and propelled herself upward into space, shooting up and directly at the Zydonian Brave, her body indistinct behind her head as she distorted with wind resistance, a shot of orange human goop propelling itself at the alien warrior.

She hit him like a water balloon, splashing out over his entire front body, only to pull the waves of herself back inward and coat him completely. He yelped in surprise, and almost immediately began to flail and struggle madly - not a tenable thing to do when you're twenty feet in the air. He lost control. For some reason he kept boosting though - as if trying to speed her off of him. He grabbed at the slime and found it sticky and wet, his strength meaningless against it. The first impact into a car hurt him a lot more than it hurt Flux, but she held on just the same as he skipped, her bounced, and in the end,skid to a stop.

... But each bounce had stuck a bit of Flux to the pavement, leaving a sticky tendril-trail behind her, forming not one, not two, not three, but five binding points... by which she suddenly gripped the pavement, and gave an elastic jerk - and cannoned him the exact opposite direction of his... graceful descen and right into one of the major support beams of the bridge after she let him go like a giant hand throwing a ball.

He hit it with his back, and a BONG that was a physical force of noise, denting the reinforced steel support a tiny bit. Very slowly... he slid downward, and dropped, either stunned or dead, into the ocean far below. Flux reformed on the pavement, and looked back to Elysium and Quake's fight, already running back towards the dueling pair, ready to render aid to the goddess!
