Metamorphi, however, had not perished. When he fell off, he transformed his body so that his form became, quite literally, as light as a feather, as he had turned the flesh of his body into the material of a feather. This meant he did not fall as fast, but if he didn't gain purchase of the wall he would still fall to his death, luckily, a gust of wind blew him towards the wall, he grabbed on to the wall of rock and became steel, his fingers dug into the rock and he slowly, and painfully, went to a stop.

He knew the Wuxia would likely check to see if he had fallen, so he morphed his body from steel to the same rock that the Cliffside was made out of, although the Wuxia had seen him, he was indistinguishable from the rest of the rocks. Once the Wuxia had looked away, Meta became steel again, climbing up by digging his fingers into the cliff as there were no handholds. It was a tiring climb, but Meta got to the top off the cliff.

Meta saw that the Wuxia had begun to walk away, Meta was tired, so he gave himself a few moments to catch his breath. He took deep breaths, and once he decided that he could carry on fighting he yelled loud enough for the Wuxia to hear I'm honoured to hear you respect me... he would allow the Wuxia time to turn around ...but there is something else of yours I want! He started to walk forward, and once he was close enough that he didn't need to shout to be heard, he spoke with an intimidating air to his voice I want your defeat!

"When last we left our fearless heroes!

They were trapped in an underground chamber, fighting for their very lives.

Their foe, an indomitable monk, who puts the fist back into pacifist.

Their soul hope, a battered and beaten Brave hanging on to his last reserves of strength.

But still the Titan fights on, inspired as he was by one plucky little butterball named Kirby, who shared with Brave his secret technique; the power to nom everything and everyone.

Meanwhile the master of scintillating wit; and Scapegoat was his name-o, moves quickly to trace the sigils that he came to find.

He knows his task is less heart-stomping than the fierce battle that rages on behind, but he compensates by breaking out into epic narration.

And thus their fates are set! Can Brave triumph over a warrior centuries old? Will they ever escape from these hallowed caverns? Should Scapegoat have gone with the number two pencil instead?

YOU DECIDE!!!

Brave. You decide. Choosing to die might be risky. But I think it could pay off for you in the long run."

PostSubject: Re: Are you 'Brave' enough? (Open to anyone)   Are you 'Brave' enough? (Open to anyone) - Page 4 Icon_minitimeTue Jun 24, 2014 7:36 am

The ironhide monk turned to see Metamorphi was still alive. He extended his hand and spoke as if waiting. "Lad...You have spirit. But this is no game anymore. I will give you one chance...to finish it." The monk pulled off his breast plate exposing a tattoo with a circle at the center. "Strike me here. And I will be released from my charge as a guardian. I tell you this to see how hard you will push to achieve victory when it's in sight."

The Wuxia smiled. "Now show me!" Suddenly, his large hammer flew back into his palm after ascending the mountainside on it's own. At which point he spun it in his palm and then lifted the weapon over his head with both hands and struck the cliff side, causing cracks to form all over it. "SHOW ME YOUR RESOLVE BOY!" The entire cliff shattered form the massive blow and collapsed, crumbling down the mountain in the form of an avalanche. The Wuxia fell with it, but stood perfectly atop one of the falling debris. His chest was exposed still, but he suspected Metamorphi was done. Already falling to his doom.

-----

Meanwhile, the buzzards kept crashing down upon Flux until the last batch all came at once and exploded with the force of old faithful upon impact. Afterwards the water all went trickling back to the Wuxia, who exposed his chest as well. The water all pooled into the tattoo on the bald man's breast, showing this was his magic center. "Your struggle was a valiant one, but alas, this was a battle beyond you child." He figured the female would be done after that last barrage.

------------

Kale and the final Wuxia clashed, agasin and again in the form of smoke clouds. However, Kale had no weapon and was not as skilled in combat. In each exchange he could be seen struggling, until finally he got a lucky shot and ripped the cloth from the Wuxia's chest. Exposing a tattoo. "Just as I thought..." Brave said quietly. He could sense that the Wuxia had a center in which his magic aura originated from. That tribal tattoo is what was tethering him to this realm and stopping the warrior from ascending to the afterlife.

During the exchange and Kale's realization, he was slashed across the face, blinding the Titan in one eye. As Kale fell to the floor, the opponent could be seen flying through the air towards him. "The battle is decided, you've lost!" Kale suddenly turned towards the monk with his cheeks bulged out, as if he had a large amount of something stored within his mouth. "Roar of the Dark Nebula!" A pillar of smoke bellowed from Kale's mouth engulfing the area in a large cloud of smoke. This made vision nearly impossible for all parties, especially the Wuxia who was directly in it's path. The Monk continued his attack, but found his blade had only pierced the floor where Kale had been and not the teen himself. The monk rose, but saw no traces of the dragon mage within this fog, or his comrade for that matter. "Where have you gone to? Retreat?"

Meta watched the Wuxia take off his armour plate to reveal a strange symbol on his chest, strange, he hadn't noticed it when Scapegoat had taken off the Wuxia's armour. That didn't matter though, what did matter was that the Wuxia had gotten his hammer back and caused an avalanche by striking the cliff side.

Meta started to fall off the side of the cliff, he turned into steel as he had done when he fell off earlier and dug his fingers into the side of the cliff, after doing this twice his nails were dripping with liquid steel, but he slowly slid to a stop. Sadly, unlike last time, there were endless rocks hailing down.

Meta was struck in the head by a rock the size of a basketball, this made him look up and realise that he needed to move fast. He let go of the cliff side and looked around for the Wuxia, who he saw was balanced impossibly well on a falling rock. He kicked off against the side of the cliff and transformed so he was made of the material of feathers, spreading his arms out wide so he sort of glided towards the Wuxia.

He turned into steel as he landed on a rock so that he wouldn't be overly damaged by the impact, but he still heard a nasty crack and his right leg really hurt. Before he could fall off the rock he turned into paper and kicked off with his left leg so that he went hurtling through the air towards the Wuxia. He doubted that the Wuxia would just stand there and get hit, he would most likely counter-attack, so he turned into a light brown coloured material.

As he would be in mid-air, any attack that the Wuxia used would be impossible for Meta to dodge, so he would have no choice but to take it in the face You want to see my resolve!?! The Wuxia's counter attack would strike Meta full on and go right through him, as instead of a single physical target the Wuxia struck thousands of grains of sand! As they were just sand the Wuxia's blow went right through it, before he could recover Meta turned back to steel... Here it is! ...and put all his strength into one powerful punch that struck the tattoo right in the centre so hard that Meta broke his knuckles, even though they were steel!

Smoking was bad for your health. Spontaneous smoking usually denoted that you were about to explode. Brave hadn't exploded. He had gone for the long term strategy. Scapegoat could see the genius behind it. First he would get the monk addicted to cigarettes. It would start as just one a day. A cool-down, a ritual. Then it would be done socially, five or so outside the pub. Next thing you knew the Wuxia's brothers were staging an intervention. 'I can quit any time I want to!' But he doesn't. He keeps puffing away. Puff, puff, puff. Every tobacco leaf paving his lungs with tar. Every inhalation a span cutting short his live. And before you know it - BAM! Slapped with a £75 fine for dropping a cigarette butt. He would have to sell the cavern. And Kale would swoop in from atop the housing market like a vengeful hawk! Who doesn't know the locution now, sucka!?

In the meanwhile, Scapegoat was choking to death. He wasn't made of smoke. It was suffocating him. The ghoul rolled up his sketch sheet and scootched as far as he could away from the thick vapour. A hand trailed the walls to guide him, and eventually clutched at a depression in the masonry. Without opening his eyes Scapegoat knew he had reached the door to the temple's inner sanctum.

If amusement parks had taught Vernon anything; and his school principle assured him they hadn't, then the way out of a maze was always at its centre. There would be a map, he was sure, with a 'you are here' marker. Along with a menagerie of other fun fairground attractions. Scapegoat wanted to try the log fume next. And then go watch the theme park actors parade around in Wuxia suits.

"As a wise doctor once coined; what's the worst that could happen?" Scapegoat pushed his way through the ancient entranceway.

As the waterlogged chamber settled in the wake of the titanic explosions of water, Flux was surely finished . A human being would have been blasted apart or drowned man times over...

... But Flux was not a human being. Though the salt of his tears pervaded her, though she ached and felt terrible exhaustion from the terrible blows she'd been hammered with, she was... Alive! No, better than alive. There was something to the water... Something about it that tingled, felt... Pure, almost. It was water that that carried magic, that was tied to the monk profoundly. In those couple of moments she was more or less part of him... So when she lifted her head and shoulders from the water, saw him, and felt the pull of his power, she knew... Just where to strike.

Flux let her movements be lost in the huge redrawing of power, drawing into him even as she flew at him, drawn closer and closer by his own tugging until she reappeared, naked, ragged looking, and hurtling towards him at a fantastic speed!

"I'm not done yet!" she howled, and struck at him with all her night and body weight, throwing everything she had into that one strike, her fist crystallizing midswing to become a solid object the size of a basketball as it flew at the center of that sigil!

The rotund Wuxia noticed the incoming child and lunged his entire hammer at him, similar to the thunder god. The Hammer struck Metamorphi with enough force to punch a hole through a tank, but the teen kept coming. The Wuxia was shocked and weaponless at the moment. Just as Meta spoke, the Wuxia smiled. "Well done."

The guardian closed his eyes, ready for what was to come.

------

The monk turned from his opponent and walked away, but felt something...He couldn't put his finger on it, but he knew it was coming, then as Flux neared him he figured out what it was. He had been arrogant himself it seemed, turning his back on an opponent. his teachings had always told him to bestow mercy to the fallen. Had he kept an eye on Flux, he would've seen what was to come. She had humbled a humble servant, a feat greater than defeating someone in physical combat. "Well done."

He smiled and turned to meet the female head on.

------

The ancient one turned blindly in the dark haze and from his blind side Kale appeared ready to strike. However, the dragon found himself impaled in the stomach by the ancient warrior's weapon, who then turned to Kale and shook his head. "Surprise cannot defeat me alone child," he said twisting the blade. "You wasted your last attempt."

The Titan convulsed from the pain, but grabbed onto his arm with both hands as tight as he could, blood seeping from his mouth. "What about deception and surprise?" Kale said weakly while smirking. The Wuxia was alarmed by the boy's words and tried to pull away, but the teen wouldn't let him move from their position. Kale's eyes shifted upwards to alert his opponent of what was falling towards them and then from up above the Wuxia could finally see the incoming spear. Brave had tossed it into the air when he exhaled his fog from a statue that was nearby, the tip of the weapon would strike the immortal warrior's insignia.

"Well done." The Wuxia no longer struggled. Instead he simply smiled, ready for what was to come.

-----

All three teenage heroes roared as their attacks pierced the three opponents simultaneously and Veron entered the sacred hall. The Wuxia disappeared in plumes of smoke, leaving behind the items that most tethered them to this world. The rotund armored one left his metal plated glove's at Meta's feet at the base of the mountain. For Kale, was clutching at the blood dripping from his stomach, it was the straw hat and Flux would find prayer beads lodged into her body as she fully reformed.

Veron would discover somethings much more wondrous however in the enormous chamber. At the center of the room was an embellished throne with a satin red rug leading to it from the doorway, with Voromir's body sitting in it - perfectly preserved, but withered. In his left hand was an orb that shifted to many different colors every second like a mood ring. In his other hand was a very large thick spellbook. The body was also wearing magician robes that looked freshly tailored, although layered with dust. Finally, the rest of the room was decked with gold. Stacks upon piles of gold and silver from generations of quests Voromir had been on in his lifetime were all for the taking.

Meta felt his knuckles break as he hit the Wuxia, but he did not care, because, much more importantly, the Wuxia disappeared in a puff of smoke! Meta roared in triumph, but it was not long lasted as he was still falling through the air, unlike the Wuxia he could not balance properly on a moving rock so he fell off, along with the gauntlets.

As he fell, he spread his arms and legs apart so his surface area was as wide spread as possible, slowing him down. He then became the material of feathers, his light weight and aerodynamicness slowing him down even further. As a result he landed softly when he eventually hit the ground, he looked around for the gauntlets that was all that was left of the Wuxia.

Since the gauntlets fell from so high up, they had allot of time to gain speed and due to their weight they reached a much higher terminal velocity, so the gauntlets hit the ground hard. If it was made of a normal metal it would have been damaged or just broken completely, but as it was the gauntlets were just fine.

Meta walked over to where the gloves were lying on the ground, ignoring the pain in his hand and leg and picked it up with his good hand, sitting down to get a good look at it. He looked back up the mountain and sighed, he had travelled for so long to climb that mountain just to be knocked down to the bottom again. It couldn't be helped though.

Meanwhile!

Scapegoat roared as he stepped across the threshold. It just felt like the thing to do at the time. Shutting out the smoke, he peered across the temple's inner sanctum, letting rip an appreciative whistle. Now who would live in a tomb like this? Arthurian décor, mood lighting, bit of a hoarder, off the main roads. If he didn't know any better, he'd guess the regal codger in front of him was Voromir himself. Yes, it must be Voromir. Or my name's not Veron!

The chamber looked untouched, preserved by time. Here Voromir and goodness sat; bid eternity come bow before him. It was possible no one living had ever lain eyes upon his majesty. That privilege had been granted to a lowly, decrepit ghoul whose very existence was base and mired in sin. Vernon did not value life. Yet here was one of life's greatest treasures. A hint of the ethereal preserved in all its sanctity.

Scapegoat left the riches, all gold and silver, he did not touch the orb, or presume to open the book, he did not even wonder what thread, so perfect, made the wizard's robes. The ghoul only held the hand of the saintly cadaver in his own. And snapped off a finger with his teeth.

Not nearly decomposed enough. But Scapegoat was hungry. It had been a long journey.

Flux saw the smile of acceptance and then... There was a thunderous moment. A tingle ran up her arm as her fist contacted the monk's center of being, striking him, and through him, at the magic that bound him to the material world. Her crystalline fist hit something solid and crackled, but he became a tide of smoke that gushed away from the young mutant!

The cry still in her lungs, she faltered, stumbling a step or two until she got her balance again. She panted, shards of her crackling away and dropping into a pool of droplets at her feet, but... The monk was defeated. Holy crap! She beat him!

Flux didn't whoop or do a happy dance though - she felt the weight and shape of the prayer beads in her breast, and after pulling them out, felt the tingle of power in them. She remembered a monk's tears, she remembered his voice, and that calm smile just before she'd dealt him the... Deathblow, she guessed. She clutched those heavy beads and blinked back tears of her own - she felt like a small part of herself had been taken with him, like a friend was gone, and she wasn't sure why.

No time for that now though, she chided herself. Kale might still be fighting that last one even now! What if he needed help and she was sitting here moping gloomily! So she fastened the prayer beads about her own neck, pushed the thoughts of her fight with the Wuxia aside for now, and pressed inside to find Kale within. The girl moved immediately to his side and got under one arm. She felt so tired, so achey, but... Lighter, too. Like she was on top of the world!

"You look like hell, Brave. she said with a cheery chuckle and a warm smile. "Cmon, I'll give you a hand." she said, and helped him as best she could to get deeper into the shrine.

"You dare disrespect my father's remains!" Kale howled as he and Flux hobbled into the room. His anger had roweled him, but also caused a rush of blood and thus a pile of red liquid to stream from his lower abdomen. Kale nearly dropped to his knees in response, coughing up blood.

Kale rose after whatever retort was made by Flux or Veron. The Wuxia's hat he had defeated rested on his back, strapped around his neck. This display and Flux's prayer beads showed that they ahd defeated their opponents. One could only speculate if Meta had done the same, but somehow Kale was sure he was okay as well.

The boy rose up fully and staggered forward, breathing heavily and trying to focus on his mission. "That gem there...That gem is what we came here for." The millennium gem. He grabbed hold of it from his father and held it up, bewildered.

When brought before the gem Kale would unravel his scrolls and suck the treasure into it, as well as begin to undress his father's corpse and put on his mage attire. "My father was the one who kept this world and that jewel safe until his end, and now that responsibility has transferred from his students (the Wuxia) to me." Kale finished putting on the outfit, and clenched his fist.

"And I will not let him look down on me in shame." Kale grabbed his large spell book and folded it up, magically, while shoving it into his pocket. "I will be worthy." Kale's seemed to only care for these items, everything else was up for grabs.

Having lost his sense of being for a moment, the ghoul was snapped back to reality by Brave's voice. He swallowed his mouthful, "I'm sorry. Were you using the corpse? Got a Halloween display planned?" Cannily Scapegoat realised that both these combatants had beaten their opponents. This he hadn't expected. The ghoul moved away from his prize even as his stomach rumbled. He exercised some self-restraint for once, instead choosing to doodle on the floor with his pencil. As the other two milled about the room the circle he had started drawing became ever more intricate.

"Being good is overrated." Scapegoat cut in to Brave's monologue, "You'd think a good deed was its own reward. But look what happens when you die." He pointed to Voromir's naked corpse, "Grave robbers. Vultures. Like me!" The pencil was chucked as the last symbol was input, "Nobody gives a stuffings if you do good with your life. Might as well be in it for yourself. Ciao." The portal Scapegoat had just drawn opened up. Ever since breaking the sealing spell on this cave, inter-dimensional travel became possible. The ghoul grabbed the dead wizard by his foot, and unceremoniously dragged Voromir through the magic portal. It vacuumed shut behind him.

Flux kept quiet through the whole exchange. From where she sat, human remains were just like a candy wrapper - what was inside was what was awesome. What was left behind was worthless. She respected that other people might not feel that way, but coughing up your own skeleton can give you a strange sort of perspective on mortality.

When Flux was left with Kale in the cave of his father, the first thing she did was push him over, her belly becoming exposed a moment as the first aid kit she'd stored safely inside her body came loose. It was a metal case with white paint and a red cross, and it was banged all to hell, but it was intact.

"You're hurt, moron." the girl chided Kale, and pushed him gently to his rump on a convenient bit of boulder. "You can have epic destinies and stuff after you stop bleeding to death. No argument - just hold still, you big idiot." she said, and began to bandage him diligently, hands moving over his injuries and becoming slightly acidic to kill the bacteria. It probably hurt like blazes, but better a bit of pain now than possibly getting killed later by a stupid infection. She wasn't taking no for an answer.

"Stupid ghoul... It really takes a dead guy to get things so far out of perspective... I mean..." she say back a bit and met Kale's eyes.

"... He just doesn't get it, does he? Why men would do things like your father, or the Wuxia did them, I mean. Why we do what we do." she continued, and resumed bandaging him.

"He's weak. Bottom line. Anyone who lives only for themselves... Is so weak, they don't even know how weak they really are. And it's pathetic on an epic scale. Men like that? They die and people try to forget them." she said, and glanced then at Voromir.

"Men like your dad? He was so strong that even now we're still seeing echoes of his power. He did so much for other people, because it was right. That's strength." she said, and tied a neat bow over Kale's injury.

"C'mon. Let's go find Meta." she said, and helped Kale to his feet.

The cheeky #$%@tard began taunting Kale. The teen was going to debate with him, and then maybe punch him, but before any action could transpire Veron disappeared with the corpse. The Titan's eyes grew wide as he realized his father was gone. There had been so much he wanted to do; bury the corpse, or at least give it a proper burial, honor Voromir with a prayer. Do something - anything to show his father he was honored to be his child. His mother told him tales of Voromir and his valiance, but now his remains would be digested by that lecherous zombie.

Luckily, the dragon mage had not an ounce of power left because his next action was to drop to his knees and slam both fists on the floor. His pupils turned to reptilian slits and he roared, long and loud, while baring his fangs. The roar wasn't human however, this was a cry of anguish resembling that of an actual beast in pain. Afterwards Kale dropped to all fours, a tear rolling down his cheek.

Sentiment wasn't typical for Brave, but he had a human heart as well and it pained at the thought of his father being unceremoniously eaten by Scapegoat. "Kill..." Kale's eyes rattled in their sockets as the blood lust surmounted and his veins protruded from his forearms. The blood from his open wound began to drip as his anger heightened and sped up his bleeding. "I'll kill hi-" However, that's when he was pushed over by Flux. A dazzling light seem to flicker off of her as Brave looked at the female in shock. Other than Jenny, no Earthling had ever calmed him in such situations. She demanded he stay still and began bandaging his wound. To this Kale blushed and just nodded. Why did she care, she barely knew him?

As she gave Kale medical care she spoke of the ghoul and how wrong he was in her eyes and that his father and the goals they stood for were noble. Kale wiped his tear as she finished and smiled. Veron was right, a corpse wasn't a living thing. Kale was clinging to a dead world, a dead past, and dead values for too long. He had new friends now, a new beginning, and a new life and he intended to use it to it's fullest.

The mage rose up and patted the bandaged wound. "Right...Let's go."

OT: All done, thanks guys.
