Clash of the Elements (Josh)

Subject: Clash of the Elements (Josh) Sun Jul 14, 2013 6:02 am

It was a rather bland early Sunday Morning. 8:00am was the time, and the city seemed fairly dormant on this day of rest. The skies were empty, yet shaded with fog. It was fairly pleasant really. The shores of Jump City’s beach was rather calm, the waves lightly crashing against the rocks; a state of calmness. On the beach, there was but only one figure stood; Mia.

The young Atlantean seemed to be stood on the very edge of the shore, water bursting around her as waves came in, then out; over and over again. The hood of her top was down, as for once the young brunette simply gazed out across the water with a huge smile across her face, feeling the tranquil wind blow about around her. With various hand gestures, Mia would make the water in front of her dance; forming shapes of various sea monsters alike. For now, things were simple, peaceful. But that never lasts long around here.

Things were peaceful on the Jump City beach right now. Nightmare hated peace so it was time to disturb it. He stood in da shdws a of a tree near the beach, he was watching as a girl controlled the tide and making different water creatures with the sea water. Was this a hero trying to get more powerful and more adept at using her abilities? Well we can't have that now can we.

As she made a giant water snake it was quickly destroyed by a huge ball of blue fire. "Well well well, what do we have here then?" Nightmare stood there, one hand was covered in blue flames while he ran the other through his long purple hair, he was looking for a fight and he could tell that this girl was the type to give him a good one

That little outburst of fire did catch Mia a tad off guard. She didn't jump or anything, but it certainly woke her up a bit this early in the Morning. Now, without looking to where the source of the flames came from. Mia held her hand out, as water from the sea formed a hydrokinetic spear in her hand. A sigh, Mia had a smile on her face, speaking before doing anything else.

"Someone you don't want to mess with"

Mia would quickly turn around and throw the hydrokinetic spear in the direction of where the flames had come from, hoping to strike the person who dared to interrupt her.

"Really? You seem like the type of girl that likes to be messed with. Everything about you screams 'mess with me' so I'll do that." As the spear came towards him Nightmare would shoot fire out of his foot like a rocket which helped him do a high backflip about 10 feet in the air. As he reached his peak height he did a roundhouse kick in mid air which released a wave of flames from him foot.

He landed back on the ground with a roll before standing back up straight, he knew this fight wasn't really going to go his way because he was fighting a hydrokinetic by the sea, even an idiot wouldn't do that hell even Matt wouldn't do that. However he wasn't really looking to do it for the win, he just wanted to get some excerise and kick some ass in the process

"You're picking up the wrong signals"

Mia would say, before she would drop down to one knee and clap her hands together above her head; forming a shield of water that would negate the flames of her opponent before disappearing. Rising back up so she was stood tall, Mia would simply shoot out several bursts of high pressured water towards the boy who seemed to be up for a fight - though Mia knew the fight would favour her better if it was more close quarters.

"Well wrong signals or not you seem fun to play with, I think we'll play a little longer." With that Nightmare woul fire off another ball of fire but it was quickurly met by Hydra's bursts of water which shot towards Nightmare at a blistering pace, he tried to flip out of the way but didn't make it in time as his legs got caught by the water his trousers ripped as well as the skin on his legs, revealing his muscles in his legs. Not good

Luckily for Nightmare though the skin started to heal back almost instantly, the blood stopped and the muscles were quickly covered back up by a whole new layer of skin. "There, that's better. Now where were we?"

Now was the time to close the distance between them and attack. Mia knew full well if she got close, no human could match up to her Atlantean strength.

"Surfs up"

Mia would say as water from the sea leaked beneath her feet to form a wave, carrying her towards Nightmare at a rather quick pace. Mia was stood atop the wave, surfing it towards Nightmare; time to extinguish this plaything!

Now the difference between Nightmare and Hydra is that although Hydra might be able to use the water aroun her, as far as Nightmare knew that's all she could do where as he could generate his owns flames and he can make them however big he wants them to be which means that he can fight back right now! As he sees the waves coming towards him he would raise both his hands in the air as a huge 30 foot wall of blue fire rises up from out of nowhere behind him. He would then motion his arms forward as the wall compressed itself down into a small ball with all the power of the huge wall, he would then shoot the ball at the wave, hoping that the sheer power of the fire would outweigh the weakness to the water

The ball of blue flame would shoot towards the wave that Hydra was surfing along. When it hit, the result was a lot of steam as fire met water; as well as no platform for Hydra to stand up. Hydra had made a jump just before the flame hit, and now had a 30+ foot drop to the ground, right above Nightmare himself. A shield of water, like a ball, formed around Hydra who seemed to speed towards the ground where Nightmare was stood like a rocket. Elements are always fun.

Speaking of rockets, that is exactly what Nightmare took off like, shooting fire out of both feet he flew upwards towards Hydra with great speed. As he ascended he opened his mouth and let out a sphere of flames around him, it was sphere vs sphere. Which was going to win? Well there was only one way to find out the answer to that question and that's to wait until they collided

A ball of fire versus a ball of water; anything can happen. The two forces would alas clash at about fifteen feet in the air; the midway point and in doing so an explosion occurred; steam filling the air, making it near impossible to complete. But whom had won?

About twenty minutes later, and we have a result. On the beach were several police cars, all parked up rather frantically with several officers positioned beside them with military grade weapons. Sirens were going off, and the sound of the violent sea could be heard. Opening her eyes, Mia would first sea the foggy steam filled sky above, and that was all. She felt a bit dazed, but otherwise not too bad; a few bruises. Sitting up, Mia would look around her, seeing the attention she herself and her opponent had received. A look to her right, and she would see Nightmare; who just like she was; flat on his back in the sand. These water versus fire battles never solve anything.

Opening his eyes now Nightmare could see sky. Why could he see sky? Well after the impact between himself and Hydra it seemed to knock them both out and they just lay on the beach for a while. As he looked up he saw that there were armed police with assault riffles pointed at both individuals, just great. He has fought an Atlantean and now he has to take on all the police, to be fair though the odds were the police would be easier to beat but he still wasn't sure what side Hydra was on, was she going to attack him or the police? He'd wait for her to make the first move to see what she did, to see who's side she's on
