Titans Squads?

Uhh, I'm not going to go in or say it can't work, but based on activity over the last 2 years. I don't see this working. If having 2 inactive teams failed and caused us to make a giant one. Trying to subjugate into even smaller groups will probably work less, especially if you're trying to choose leaders.

Hmm. Forgot to mention Shadow as a team leader. However, Shadow, like so many others, is busy with school right now. There are a lot of faces here that I haven't seen in a while, except for the activity check thread, like Capricious (who could also be considered a leader).

This brings up JaK's point. We have to find a way around inactivity. Of course, people are still able to RP with people outside of their team. The squads will just give you a small group that you can RP with a lot. Hopefully, creating squads will boost activity and motivate people to get on and post. That won't stop inactivity, but having smaller teams gives us a lower chance of waiting for a reply from people, like the Primarch Joshua thread.

There is always the option of letting mods post to clear things up if someone becomes inactive. I hope to avoid this, but it can stop another Primarch scenario.

If someone doesn't want to be on a squad, then they don't have to be. Silent Night is rarely around, but he can just be off doing stealthy things. With him and Aeon taken out of the equation, we have 21 Titans, or 7 squads of 3.

We can start some test squads and see if the idea works well. As of now, squads could be open to join, but not required.

Alright, to start off the Squads thing, I've been talking with Hotwire, and we've created the squad of Scope, Hotwire and Skreech! The first official Titans Squad!

Let's see how this works out!

Seeing as Terra is taking the place if Elastriss I think it's be cool to see Deep Freeze and maybe Honest with her. but whatever's clever works

I totally agree with my other post. Sorry I would have posted here I just didn't see it. I'm pretty sure Zondra left the Teen Titans, just saying, but if I were you I would take it up with her. Any ways! I think the whole squad thing is a great idea and I would love to make a squad

Welp, I think I'll have a crack at this squad-sorting to see what others think of it! Of course, these are not official, and I'm basing this off of powers, membership, activity, and experience. I'm NOT basing these on members themselves, personal beefs, or any other selfish stuff to make that clear for any potential doubters of how and why I chose what I chose.

With twenty-one Teen Titans total, counting Nova and Rai as one member and excluding Aeon (for obvious reasons) as well as Ben 10 (seeing that JaK has allegedly left the site.) That being noted, here's what I gathered power-wise when it comes to physical attacks and mental attacks just to compare the two:

SQUAD I:
Leader = Deep Freeze / Grace Dore
- Terra
- ?

SQUAD II:
Leader = Psychosis / Will Dore
- Nova & Rai
- Myst

SQUAD III:
Leader = Shadow / Suraya Lee
- The Stray
- Kitsune

SQUAD IV:
Leader = Silent Night
- Lightning Wolf
- Furi

SQUAD V:
Leader = Honest / Liev Aleksandr Ehrlichmann
- GX26
- Black Jack

SQUAD VI:
Leader = Capricious / Juliette Capriciossa Berns
- Chroma
- Static Shock

SQUAD VII:
Leader = Superboy / Conner Kent
- Scope
- Hotwire

The “?” under “SQUAD I” is there because I cannot find Galaxius’ character/powers. That being noted, my opinions as to squad matching could very well change. I thought it would be a good idea to have powers that were similar to each other in a specific group (i.e. Psychosis, Nova & Rai, Myst because they’re mainly telepathy-affiliated) to make missions more effective as to which combatants/common areas of expertise could be used most prominently (i.e. here’s a villain who’s all amazing with telepathy but not too hot on physical strength; then comes in Deep Freeze and Terra who are really bad-a at the villain’s weak spot!) and so on and so forth. KEEP IN MIND, these are just my suggestions, and I’d like to see what people think of them. Kind of like a basis foundation to go off of for other suggestions.

...so, yeah. There's my ridiculously long novel of lists and members and powers and stuff!

Looks pretty awesome Honest! I was thinking of doing something similar but I'm lazy so I didn't!

There are some tweaks I'd like to point out though. First of, Galaxuis isn't a Titan anymore. She left the Titans in a thread I'm doing with Hotwire here.

I've spoken with Hotwire and we've agreed that we want our characters in the same squad and the third just has to be decided. My initial choice was for Superboy, but, Josh said he wasn't sure how he'd be as a leader, so, ultimately, that's up to him.

For Squad III...doesn't Shadow control The Stray and Suraya? I don't know if this would be difficult or not, but, I'm just suggesting that this might be a problem...

Otherwise, I'm okay with all of these squads but it's up to the owners of each character to come on and agree/disagree/edit/etc.

Lolol, I didn't even notice that Squad III was so... uh, counterproductive. CX Thank you for also clarifying the bit with Galaxuis! I say, before I go editing around my suggestions, that it might be a better idea to put up new revisions to the teams I've thought of underneath the original... that way, members can see all the suggestions that have been made. c:

Thr33, thanks for your input. I'll definitely put your team up as a possibility on thar. But, like you said, voting and member "OK"ing would definitely have to be done before any of this actually kicks off... we'll see; it's only been, like... an hour since I've posted the list, haha.

Since squad 1 needs another person, we could just have the twins count as 2 people. Just an idea.

I had expected a bigger response to this from the Titan community. Because we haven't gotten that, I hesitate at making these squads official. I do like the list and think that it would work well, possibly with some minor adjustments. However, I think we should have a squad or two test the squad thing out to make sure it works before we implement it into the Titans.

Also, the idea was discussed that not everyone needs to be on a squad, and you can still be a solo hero. Maybe we should just let members make their own squads?

Deep Freeze is Dar's character correct? I alsolutely love the squads you put together, but agree about Squad 3 needing some tweaking maybe. Terra's intro thread should be up soon so she can actually get into the Titans. I need to get it up but Moon wanted me to involve her in it so I'm waiting for her to give me the ok to go and post it.

If she doesnt in the next day or so I'm just going to get it up so we can get this ball rolling xD

Good idea on counting Nova and Rai as two, Dar. However, the whole idea that I had behind putting together teams of different walks in membership and characters was to try to get roleplayers who don't normally roleplay together, per say a veteran such as myself and a new member such as Moon772 (well, at least, Moon's new to me.) We've never roleplayed with each other, come to think of it... oh well, that's not the point. CX On the subject of heroes not being on squads, I've always thought of the squad thing as an underlying factor to a member's wishes; even if they're on a squad, that doesn't mean that they can't go on solo missions, work with other squads, and squad assignments definitely should not be restricted to just one squad, but rather two or three or more squads, too. Activity, of course, will have a dent on this concept, too. With the squads being paired in three's, two heroes out of three is already kinda low. I just arranged them as such for mathematical purposes.

They could be split into four's with an odd-numbered group, or we could even have varying numbers form three's to six's, although I still vie for the three-per-squad arrangement; it's simpler, cleaner and I'd say it's a lot more manageable on the leaders' parts.

As for a relatively small response to this topic, I could send PM's to all who have not replied, although I am hesitant because I don't want to come off as a nag... oh, the choices we must make! PX

EDIT I've added "v2"s to the squads (other suggested possibilities) and asterisks to Titans who have been suggested to two or more groups. I certainly hope this squad thing works out because... well, (I know it's my fault, but) this has admittedly taken quite a bit of labour. ^^;
