| Solara, the essence of all that ever was and all that ever will be, the essence of Halla. Halla is every person, every thing, every speck of matter. Solara was the place that the spirits, energy, and matter of Halla existed. It was the place that the power of the territores, the worlds, and the entire universe gathered. Together there are ten territories, all connected through the power of Solara, and the existence of Halla. For a while, everything existed in peace. But then one of the spirits of Solara became angry. He became angry that the people of Halla were making the wrong choices and not seeing that life could be so much grander. He fashioned himself a name, Saint Dane. With that name he fashioned himself a body, using the power of Solara. Solara's power dwindled because Saint Dane used this power often, to change his appearance or form. He started becoming an influence in the territories, pushing the people of Halla to make desicions he thought were better for them and trying to help them see his vision. But he became obsessed with the power he could hold over them and he became wrought with evilness. The spirits of Solara then made the Travelers. They were people from the territories granted with the power to travel between the territiories and fight against Saint Dane. The battle was bloody, but finally the Travelers conquered Saint Dane and the territories continued to exist in peace like before. The Travelers, no longer needed, returned to normal lives and when it was time, their spirits returned to Solara. But now a new spirit has emerged. A spirit having a similar vision to Saint Dane's, wanting to rule all of Halla. There is once again a need for Travelers, to protect the territories and restore peace to Halla. Characters needed: *Evil bad guy (like Saint Dane) * Travelers from these territories: Cloral: - Spoiler:
Cloral with just one city, called Faar. The people of Faar became curious and hungry for power over other lands. They built ships and began to sail all around Cloral looking for more dry land. When the sailors returned, they came with nothing. But one day, nearly one hundred sailors got together and made a plan to find the dry land. They would all have their own boats with a crew of five and would compete. However, food ran out on the ships, and the Faarians feared that they would attack Faar in the desperate attempt to get food and stay alive. When the water level began rising, the Faarians took it as a blessing and a miracle. The Council of Faar decided that they would build a giant glass dome over Faar and sink below the ocean, protected.
After the dome was completed, the Council added the ability to rise back up to the surface, called transpiring. They knew that they would have to rejoin their brothers above the surface some day. When the sailors returned to find Faar gone, they were horrified. In order to survive, they built a floating Faar-like city. The Faarians helped in anyway they could and soon the sailors had created the first habitat. The territory evolved and more habitats were built, until eventualy there were habitats all over Cloral, each specialized to serve a specific niche. (Growing food, manufacturing tools, etc)
The planet of Cloral was covered entirely by a deep ocean. No dry land existed, with the exception of the city of Faar. The people of the territory lived on floating cities known as habitats, and most food was grown in underwater farms, although some food came from farming habitats such as Grallion. It is hypothesized that Cloral was once dry land, but the eventual warming of the ice caps flooded the planet.
The linguistics of the Cloran language were reasonably simple. Most words had no more than two syllables, with rare exceptions such as Grallion and Magorran. Most first names on Cloral were monosyllabic and only had two letters; only a few, such as Benn, Per, and Ginja had more than two letters, and Ginja was the only known non-monosyllabic Cloran first name. With rare exceptions, last names had only two syllables.
The language in the city of Faar was slightly more complex. Last names were more likely to have three syllables, such as Kalaloo and Abador.
The two most common vowels in the Cloran language were a, o, and u. The former two commonly were used as double letters. A wide variety of consonants were used.
Quillan: - Spoiler:
Quillan was very similar to Second Earth long before the events of The Quillan Games. Seven generations before Bobby Pendragon came to Quillan, however, a company called Blok was founded. Because Blok sold and manufactured things as cheaply and quickly as possible, the company was able to sell for much less than its competitors. It rapidly grew in popularity and power, slowly closing the other stores and manufacturers. By the time Bobby arrived on Quillan, every aspect of the territory was controlled by the company All the people of Quillan were forced into large cities. Law was enforced on Quillan by robots called Dados, which were controlled by Blok. Blok concealed Quillan's history, leaving people with no memory of a happier lifestyle than that under which they lived. To maximize profits, the corporation withheld all but the most bare of essentials, and imposed fierce punishment on all those who failed to contribute. In order to make even more money, Blok hosted an attraction known as the Quillan Games, which were projected all over Quillan and hosted by two phaders from Veelox, Veego and LaBerge. Individuals called challengers were captured, color-coded, and forced to play against each other in a variety of dangerous games. Citizens of Quillan wagered on these games in the hope of winning large rewards. Those who could not bet with money bet instead with their lives.
Most of the citizens of Quillan were passive, and lacked any will to resist Blok. However, there was a group of people called the Revivers, who worked to fight Blok and return Quillan to the prosperous territory it once was. At the heart of the Revival was a legendary museum known as "Mr. Pop", containing every aspect of Quillan's history before Blok purged the territory of the past. Mr. Pop was eventually destroyed by Blok's Security Dados.
Ibara: - Spoiler:
Ibara was the eighth territory targeted by Saint Dane. It exists around the turn of the 59th century on Earth, which is about the year 5800. Unlike all the other Territories, Ibara is not named after the planet it is on (to anyone who cares, it is actually on Veelox, 300 years after Aja Killian's time). Ibara is named after the island Ibara, which was a military outpost used to defend Rubic City. After the fall of Veelox, almost everyone went back into Lifelight. there were so few people left to maintain Veelox that the entire Territory collapsed. Literally. Everyone was either a Phader (my guess about .5% of the population), a Vedder (my guess about .5% of the population), or in Lifelight (my guess about 99% of the population).
Nobody maintained the water and plumbing.
Nobody maintained the power.
Nobody maintained the gloid factories.
More and more people were dying and there were so few people left and the death count was so high that the Vedders decided to leave those who died in their jump tubes. Eventually Lifelight itself stopped working. In Rubic City everyone divided into two groups. 40 people followed Aja Killian. Everyone else refused to accept that Lifelight had fallen. They considered themselves children of Lifelight and so named themselves Flighters. Aja's small band of people left for the island of Ibara. Aja knew that because it was once a military outpost, it would be the safest place to set up shop. They could easily defend themselves from Flighters. And as a tropical island with everything needed to support a population without technology to corrupt it, it the island was that much more ideal.
300 years later, Aja's plan has worked perfectly so far. The governing body of Rayne, the Tribunal, has kept all technology away from their perfect little world. But it was time to complete Aja's vision. Anyone who questioned the world outside of Rayne was chosen to be a pilgrim to the rest of Veelox. 900 people were chosen to be a pilgrim. They were to go to the far corners of Veelox and repopulate the planet.
Veelox: - Spoiler:
Due to the fact that Lifelight has almost entirely consumed the territory, most people's lives outside of their Lifelight jumps are devoted to the workings of Lifelight. Most jobs are centered around the virtual reality system.
Phaders are people who monitor the Lifelight jumps and ensure that everything is running along smoothly. Each Lifelight pyramid has a senior phader and many ordinary phaders who are constantly watching what is going on in people's fantasies. Some other jobs belonging to phaders are troubleshooting the Lifelight hardware, and upgrading it (when necessary).
Vedders are the people assigned to taking care of the jumpers' physical state. They spend their time making sure that the jumpers are safe and healthy, and are trained to react to an emergency such as injury or death. Both phaders and vedders are trained for their positions from the time they are very young. They are trained at an establishment in the country known as The Principal of Deelix. According to Aja Killian, they are taken from their parents shortly after birth. It is not specified whether this is something that parents choose for their children or not.
Veelox's technology is primarily based around Lifelight. Veelox was once quite similar to Second Earth before the invention of Lifelight, which began to take over in a similar way as Blok did on Quillan. Lifelight was a program, developed by Dr. Zetlin, which allowed people to live inside their own dream world. Little to no emphasis was placed on how Lifelight actually worked, although some limitations were mentioned. Before Aja Killian used the Reality Bug, the system was unable to produce "imaginary" creatures. Therefore, it was supposedly impossible to view creatures from other territories, such as quigs. Immense deflation has been implied, as the Veeloxian unit of currency (the Rist) is equal to roughly 320 U.S. dollars from Second Earth. This shows that money is no longer being made, most of it spent on Lifelight anyway. 99.9% of the population was in Lifelight during most of the events of the book, so improvements had to be made to allow people to live inside Lifelight. Gloid was invented for such a purpose: a tricolored nutritional substance that could be absorbed through the skin. Veelox has mastered disease control; they are able to detect and eliminate any disease within seconds via irregular light. An irregular light generator is placed at the front entrance to all Lifelight pyramids so as to keep jumper from contracting a disease while immobile. This is a list of other technologies present on Veelox during the events of The Reality Bug: Inertia Jets: A wire frame with a single pad you attach to your shoes, used for propulsion through the weightless room inside the barbican. Pedal Vehicles: No name is given but it is a vehicle capable of seating two occupants and is powered by pedaling, similar to a bicycle. Control Bracelets: Worn by jumpers and phaders. The jumper's version has three buttons; one to stop a jump, one to alter a jump, and one to contact your phader. The phader's version is different and has many more buttons and functions then the ones given to the jumpers. Zips: The flying motorcycle-like vehicles seen flying in the water room of the barbican. Capable of going underwater but they only work inside the barbican.
Veelox consists of roughly 76% land mass. By comparison, Earth's surface is 29.2% land and 70.8% water, implying that Veelox is the geographical opposite of Earth. This implication is also present in the number of continents. The term continent is used sparingly on the Earths; they are generally identified by convention rather than strict crieteria. If Veelox has little ocean mass, many islands would appear, and they would generally be regarded as continents. The climate of Veelox is entirely temperate. This gives little distractions the jumpers; a temperate climate would not interfere with Lifelight's power sources. Rubic City, the site of The Reality Bug, is a coastal city. An island known as Ibara is located a short distance away. Ibara was reportedly once a military base. Flumes are located in Rubic City and on Ibara.
Veelox has a grand total of 212 sovereign countries. These countries include: The Ibilik Federation is the largest country, also the most powerful. Kanda is another country. Its capital is Rubic City, where all the events of The Reality Bug take place. The Kingdom of See is the smallest country, with a population of 651. The Principal of Deelix is another small country, and is home to the technology center where phaders and vedders are trained to work in Lifelight. All of said countries use an identical time measurement system. Time is measured in "unets", which are roughly equal to one minute. Lifelight pyramids are spread everywhere, reaching over 75,000 in number. In comparison, 75,000 new jobs were created in the USA in December 2007.
Due to the fact that the only setting on Veelox visited by Bobby Pendragon is Rubic City, it can be assumed that all the known words and phrases from Veelox are in a single language, henceforth referred to as Kandan. It is likely that other nations have other languages. The Principal of Deelix may use a constructed language for neutrality as people from across Veelox go there to study.
First Earth: - Spoiler:
Fist Earth is Earth set in 1937. It is a world set in the past. [/spolier] Second Earth: [spoiler] Modern day Earth
Third Earth: - Spoiler:
Third Earth was a highly advanced territory in the 51st century. It was a utopian society with one central government working together to help the planet. Third Earth had a variety of new technologies such as an advanced cell phone, one-size fits all shoes, soundless electric cars, and a supercomputer that stored information on nearly every subject in the territory. It could also predict the future using a mathematic equation and foretell potential outcomes of events in the past. Years before the arrival of Bobby Pendragon and Gunny VanDyke on Third Earth, the territory was having major overpopulation problems. To avoid the eventual overcrowding of the planet, the people moved underground and built vast subterranean cities and colonized the remaining planets in the solar system. Over time the pollution problems on Earth began to recede, becoming healthier. A few people stayed above ground in cube-like houses. Above ground, people used bicycles and electric cars to get around.
Eelong: - Spoiler:
Much of Eelong was covered with jungles, rainforests, and vegetation-covered mountains. Savage beasts known as Tangs roamed the forest floor, so the cities of Eelong were built in the trees.
The dominant species of Eelong was a race of catlike creatures known as Klees. The humans on Eelong were known as gars, and were treated like animals. They were often enslaved and forced to perform menial labor, or pitted against each other for sport. Most gars never recieved any form of education, so they usually acted like animals, though they possessed an inner intelligence that was rarely given the change to flourish.
Denduron: - Spoiler:
Denduron has a total of 15 continents, 12 of which are uncharted. The largest continent, Bedoo. The other two charted continents are Nodd and Galla. Most of these continents are along the equatorial areas of the planet, though there are two frozen continents to the far North and South. The highest peak, located on Nodd, is Orloo, standing at 29,112 feet. This is taller than Second Earth's Mount Everest. There are a total of nine oceans, the largest of which surrounds the continent Bedoo. Its name is Titanbian
The territory orbits three suns known as Noab, Lao, and Rigg. The territory still has a temperate climate, implying that the suns are further away than 93 million miles. Given the lack of publicized electricity, there is no light pollution, allowing for uninterrupted stargazing.
Denduron is made up of various groups of tribes. According the The Guide to the Territories of Halla Vol. 1, the principle tribes are the Bedoowan, Milago, Novan, Lowsee, Gallauao, Reuenian, and Toom. Most of these tribes operate via monarchy, such as the Bedoowan's ruler Queen Kagan. All of these tribes measure currency in gold coins called quills. For most of Bobby's time on Denduron, the Milago tribe is a depotism, that is to say, a monarchy in which the citizens are slaves to the monarch. The Bedoowan controlled the Milago, using them to mine a mineral called glaze for Queen Kagan. She was under the influence of Saint Dane in the guise of Mallos, and believed it was neccesary.
While on Denduron, Saint Dane also assumed the likeness of Figgis, a miner/merchant entrepreneur who had uncovered a deadly new mineral. This mineral was known as Tak and was the key component in Denduron's Turning Point.
The Milago and the Bedoowan seem to speak the same language, as, despite low levels of contact, there seems to be little communication difficulty between them. Words and PhrasesEdit There have been eight phrases in the Denduron language heard by Bobby. Soba board few! (a knight yelling at Press Tilton) Buto! Buto aga forden ca dar! (a knight accusing Press of spying on Kagan) Ogga ta vaan burr sa! (Figgis offering Bobby a sweater) Mab abba kan forbay. (Figgis apologizing) Ca! (No!) Bagga! Bagga va por da pey! (a man pleading with Mallos) Maga con dada pey! (the man saying that he has a family) Moy fol... (I have...) Additionally, there are several local words which cannot be readily translated into English. Crabble (a type of flower) Tak (an explosive mineral) Glaze (a gemstone mined in the Milago Village) may be native or may be an English translation. Triptype (a gemstone that gives off light energy)
Denduronian seems to have four primary vowels, a, e, o, and u. i is notably rare, although present in some words (such as "Figgis"). There is a double a in vaan, probably indicating a lengthening or stress. There is also one attested vowel diphthong, oa, although this may be a lengthened o. Most words alternate vowels and consonants, with the exceptions being board and crabble (and possibly glaze). There are also double consonants, possibly geminates; the attested ones are bb gg rr, so dd can be assumed to also be present by analogy.
No words appear to have more than three syllables, and ambisyllabicity is present in only one word, board.
Denduron had two flumes. One of them was in a cave at the top of a tall mountain near the Milago village. The other was deep in the glaze mines, and was buried when a tak vein was destroyed the tunnels.
Zadaa: - Spoiler:
Much of Zadaa was covered in desert. Many of the rivers of Zadaa ran underground, flowing from the mountains in the north of the territory. Most of Zadaa was uncivilized and violent, dominated by cannibal tribes. The most advanced tribes on Zadaa were the Rokador and the Batu.
*Acolytes *Random people from the territories. *mentors for the travelers | |

| Name: Kai Farrow Age: 19 City: Rune Appearance: Personality: Kai is very confident, and very straight-forward. She is very blunt, sometimes to the point of being rude. She is very determined and appears not to be afraid of anything, but this is just a shell. She is quite unsure of herself and her confidence is a defense mechanism to hide that. Quillan has been under the influence of the Valex, a organization that rose quite sometime after the Ravinians left. The Valex took over what the Ravinians failed to finish. They seperated the "worthy people" from the low-lifes and created a monarchy type governemtn that slowly created chaos among the territory. If you were not a "elite" person you were forced to work the low pay jobs as a sanitaion person or a store employee or things of that nature. Kai works at a clothing store, and she has been creating a resistance to take down the Valex. | |

| Name: Saint Drac Age: Unknown City: Unknown Appearance:Skills:Saint Drac has the ability to transform into any person, animal and/or creature, and can take several other forms including becoming "smoke". He also has the power to manipulate people only with his mind. Equipment:His equipment depends solely on the territory that he is in. This goes for his appearance as well. Personality:A shapeshifting and ruthless character, Saint Drac's ultimate goal is to break down Halla (everything that there is, was, or will be) so that he may rebuild it in his own design. Saint Drac is, essentially, cruelty personified. He usually makes a complicated plan before attempting to overthrow a territory. He does not fear death or suffering, but enjoys the suffering of others. He cannot be killed by ordinary means. Like Saint Dane before him his goal is to break Halla and rebuild it in his image. | |
