Seren - 'The Corporeal Spirit'

Phase Shifting: Seren is able to partially transition back into the Fade in order to become incorporeal (Not invisible). In this form she cannot be harmed by physical objects and is able to pass through walls and other solid objects.

Her phase shift also allows her to ‘hitch-a-ride’ in another person’s body. While inside she sees through the other’s eyes and hears what they hear. The two also share their thoughts, allowing them to communicate with one another. Whatever happens she stays inside until she decides to leave or she is forced out as discussed in weaknesses. (If the host travels at the speed of light, through time or to another dimension she will go with him) While incapable of influencing the other’s movement unless under extreme conditions, she will either boost or degrade their general effectiveness. An ally may find his reaction times have gotten a bit faster and that he has a clearer view on the situation at hand. An enemy will experience the exact opposite. Note that she will not affect your physical/magical strength, speed or grant any new powers nor will these effect have a huge effect.

Interconnectivity: Through the fade she is able to connect her mind with another. This requires physical contact near the cerebral cortex, usually meaning she has to place her hand on the other person’s head. Both her and the person she’s connecting with will lose consciousness and enter a sort of dream state where she enters their mind. She may relive memories alongside the other, help them overcome nightmares or fears and even aid a mortally wounded ally by getting him to fight for his life or wake up. The other entity must be willing to perform this act or it will simply not work.

This same ability also allows here to take knowledge of another being. This might be information, their past, a secret, a new skill or for instance a language. Note that she only gains theoretical knowledge. In the case of cooking this may be enough make a decent meal on the first try, but an entire martial arts style would still take years to master. This version can be forced and does not cause a loss of consciousness.

Fade Energy: Manipulation of fade energy into beams and bolts. It is a standard energy projectile power through her connection with the fade. The source is unlimited and power varies from a simple sting to full knockdown and burns. This ability also allows her to fly.


Weaknesses

Phase Shifting: Weakness: Her phased form does not offer protection from the elements and magic. This also means that any magical shield stops her from passing through walls, etc. (Examples: Chamber protected by a forcefield, a mage summoning an energy barrier) While an energy shield literally blocks her, an elemental current will not but phasing into a chamber that’s on fire brings quite a few risks as you can imagine. Any attack backed up with magic or an element will also be effective. (Example: Fire punch)

When entering another body it is immediately noticed by the ‘owner’. It is possible to block her entry entirely, again through the use of magic or an element. (A person on fire would make her have to go through the fire first.) Once inside she can be forced out, although this is harder to perform than blocking her entry. Merely pushing her presence out of your subconscious is enough, although this becomes a duel of the minds really since she can push back, but ultimately this will always force her out. She cannot control bodily functions without a strong emotional response on her side and even then they are very limited. (Example: She resides in the villain who is about to mortally wound her teammate. This might give her enough power to grant her ally a few extra second but nothing more.) Any damage taken by the host of the body she's residing in will also affect her. Not as strong as the one physically taking the hit but certainly capable of wearing her out.

She loses all of her other abilities when performing anything related to this power.

Interconnectivity: Requires physical contact at a very specific spot making it almost useless in a fight. First version is only possible on a willing subject and causes a loss of consciousness. Removing the physical link immediately breaks the connection with no adverse effects, although she keeps whatever she gained up until that point.

Fade Energy: While powerful this energy can be evaded, blocked or even countered by other magical energies or things otherwise capable of doing so. The same goes for her shields, they can only block so much.
General: She merely has a human body and has to rely on her flight and defensive abilities to survive. While physically fit she will not be able to withstand a lot of hits, nor will she be able to dish it out any without her fade energy. Ranged fights are her specialty, anything close will get her in a pinch.

Likes:
Good: The good inside people, charity, compassion and that sort of thing. The color Blue stands for this in her fateweaving, which coincidently is her favorite color. She enjoys the company of other heroes very much.

Learning & Practice: Everything is new to her so she is curious about almost everything. Whatever she learns she wants to put to use, some things more than others. This requires lots of practice, which she enjoys doing.

Life's pleasures: Eating & drinking, feelings, individuality, these are things she didn't have as a spirit and are generally enjoyed to the fullest.

Dislikes:
Evil: She despises anything malicious, cruel and generally evil. Life should be enjoyed, not destroyed.

Mortality: While it is unknown what will happen when she dies she doesn't exactly look forward to it. Inevitably she will outlive the people around her, which will cause her much sorrow.

Strengths: Very intelligent and, coupled with her power, a very fast learner.

Skills: None yet. This may change along the way through the use of her power. (I've been thinking about alchemy or something similar in the near-future)

Personality: Very compassionate and caring about those around her. Tends to want to help everyone with everything but will only do so once asked. Calm and serene, with a certain grace about her. Has a strong opinion about things and likes to have it known.

(( There is not much to tell about her time as a spirit since they simply existed, nothing more. ))

Suddenly all was dark. Only moments ago she was floating among the energy currents within the fade, along with her brethren. Now that familliar scenery was gone and a feeling deep down inside told her this was very wrong. Never before had she experienced this feeling, fear in human terms, and this fact alone made it all even worse. She tried to see but there was nothing to be seen. She tried to reach out but there was no answer. She tried to move but nothing happened. Minutes passed by as she pondered on what had happened to her. No answer came to mind as nothing similar had ever happened in the collective existance within the fade. The only thing she could do right now was hope, and so she did. A shimmer of light responded far away in the darkness, growing larger ever so slowly. How this happened didn't matter, all that she could think about was how everything had to be better on the other side of that light. The light grew and grew, until finally enveloping her within.

The light grew even stronger until finally color started to seep in. She opened her eyes and looked at the world for the first time. A rocky ceiling met her gaze and she was greeted by the shimmering of various crystals embedded in its surface. It was an amazing experience but the dread feeling that was still present prevented her from moving at all. After staring at the ceiling for countless minutes she brought up the courage to sit up. Her movements were natural even with her unfamiliarity with a physical body. She lifted her arms up and breathlessly inspected her hands, while moving them around, and the rest of her body. She then looked around the cave she was in and instantly felt constricted. She had never been in contact with solid matter but here she was, lying on the cold rocky surfaces of a cave, stuck inside a shell that she could move around but not escape.

Initially she was scared. It didn't feel bad, in fact she could feel more then ever, both inside and out. She only noticed now that she was breathing, something that seemed necessary since stopping produced the need for air more and more until she had to gasp for it. It was also cold, her body definately feeling warmer to the touch then the stone around her. After a while she was carefully walking about, stumbly at first but her steps became more fluent the more she moved around. Not daring to move to far away she stayed near the place were she awoke. As she was getting accustomed to her newfound body she began to ponder about her fate, this body she was in and her existance back in the fade. Some answers couldn't just be answered by thinking...
