Alyss smiled at Xzuk and sat next to him on the pavement. "You know, being with someone like me wouldn't be fun. There's a lot of repercussions." She looked down at the ground. "What with the freak-outs and the wincing at human contact," she frowned and her eyes crinkled up in emotional pain. "I'm not functional."

"Psh... And I'm any different? I hid away from the world for a month because of a girl. And I'm still afraid of it's repurcussions.... as for freak outs... Unless you failed to notice... I think I have them too..."

Functional... thats a funny word isn't it...

He smiled a little... delusional... Its not as bad as people make it out to be...

"And you know.. You're the one standing... so I think you function fine."

He closed his eyes and focused hard. he opened his eyes and sat up. His vision got white and cloudy for a moment... but it recovered.

"Hi."

Alyss looked at him, confused. "Hello?"

He laughed a little.

"I was trying to lighten the mood... Jeez."

A smile spread across his face.

"Way to not get the humor..."

Alyss laughed, lightly and smiled at him. "I've had a rough day."
She held out a hand. "Hi, I'm Alyss. I'm a social freak. How are you?"

Xzuk smiled.

"I'm Xzuk. It's a beautiful Friday. And I'm in love."

He reached a hand for her cheek and waited to see if she'd pull away.

Alyss looked at him and smiled. "You're a stupid man Xzuk." she said, grinning widely. As his hand touched her cheek her eyes winced a little, but she realised it was Ok.

He smiled and began to lean in.

"I'm not stupid. I'm delusional. There's a difference."

He kissed her and sat back to look in her eyes.

Alyss tensed up a little but let the kiss take her away. She felt safe with him. He sat back and she smiled at him. "You have got yourself in so much trouble, being with me. Slade will kill you. Hell, I might accidently kill you."

"I live in a tower with a walking shadow, a 6 foot wolf, a blade happy martial arts expert, a girl that could kick superman's ass all the back to Krypton, a futuristic Gun fanatic... and then of course there's me."

He smiled... What a team...

"Slade is only one man. And I become a different person when it comes to you..."

He stood up a bit unsteadily and reached out his hand.

"In the end... I'm happy."

His mind began to project Def Lep's no matter what and he smiled. It was a good choice.

Alyss nodded and smiled warmly. She still felt tired though, her entire body was aching and in the reflection of the glass shop windows she saw the dark circles under her eyes and the way her clothes hung off her body from lack of food. She looked up at Xzuk, he looked better than ever. She looked at his hand and took it, pulling herself up. She winced as her tired feet hit the ground.
"Let's go back to the Tower." she said, weakly.

He began to levitate as the rings of sound wrapped his wrists and ankles once again.

"Like I'd make you walk... Hop on."

He smiled weakly... He needed sleep.

(Seriously. I'm logging at the hour and will be asleep for a while.. Been up for 31 hours straight..)

Alyss jumped onto his back and leant her head against his back.
"I need rest. I feel awful." she said. Truly, she didn't feel well at all. Every muscle was aching and her brain felt like it was going to explode. She hoped Fear had nothing to do with this.

"Alright.. I'm going, I'm going..."

He smiled lightly and they took off at speeds unimaginable to most human beings.

They landed less than a minute later. He saw his reflection in one of the tower windows...

I look worse than I feel... Damn...

There was a monster gash above his left eye and he had bruises everywhere....

"Titans! I'm back!"

He walked behind Alyss towards his room.

"You can take my room if you like."
