Alyss sighed and her eyes widened as the darkness fell. She shivered and flicked her fingers. A small fire, like a lighter, appeared at the end of one finger.
"Shall we set up?" she asked.

He looked up pathetically.

"Uhm. Yeah. I can't move too well right now."

He smiled a little and laughed then stopped short as his back muscles burned the more he moved.

Alyss sighed and smiled a little. She sat him down on the grass and move behind him.
"Sorry, this might hurt a little." she said. "I have only tried this on animals so far. So wish me luck."
She closed her eyes and placed her hands flat on his back. Her hands turned black and she began winding shadows around his wounds and torn back muscles and healing them back together.

Whatever she was doing was cold and it burned... strange..

He bit his lip to keep from yelping, but the pain was gone in moments.

"How did you do that?"

He sat up and smiled while he was stretching out his back.

Alyss smiled and sat down next to him.
"I don't know. I'm starting to think that whatever people fear I can use. Some people are afraid of wounding, so I reversed the effect."

"Well... Uhmmm... Thanks..."

He smiled a bit shyly and started to set up the tent. Alyss could handle the fire.

"Thanks for your help with Deadzone."

Alyss smiled and clicked her fingers and a fire sprang up from the ground.
"You're welcome." she said. She looked down at her dirty clothes and sighed. "Bastard ruined my shirt."

She was right. The shirt was fucked.

He reached into his bag and pulled out an old Union Jack uniform.

"This one doesn't fit me anymore. You can have it."

He tossed her the padded tee.

"Who knows. It might just save your life someday."

After he was done with the tent he joined her by the fire and looked up at the stars.

"There's so many of them outside of the city..."

Alyss smiled and tossed the shirt back to him. "I keep spares." she said. A shadow appeared with a red and white plaid shirt for her. She smiled and she held it up in front of her. Shadows surrounded her body and the new shirt was on her and the old shirt in her hands.
"Shadow changing room." she said. "My shadows do care for me. They sing me to sleep, get me food. I do love them." She said, smiling at the shadow.

"Oh yeah? Well can your shadows do this?"

He pulled out a bag of marshmallows and began roasting one.

"Here's the magic part."

While it was still on fire, he ate it.

"Haha! I can still do it!"

Alyss grimaced and smiled at him. "OUCH!" she said. "Well, shadows can't eat can they?" she said, laughing.
She tossed a marshmallow and went to catch it in her mouth, but she missed and it hit her in the eye. She yelped and glared at the marshmallow, which was quickly torn apart and disintegrated by shadows.

"Nice catch clumsy"

Xzuk laughed and tried it with a flaming marshmallow.

It promptly hit him in the forehead and stuck there. Xzuk did another Shia scream and peeled of the flaming marshmallow.

There was a nice scorched red mark on his forehead now.

"Not a word."

Alyss smirked and giggled. "I'm so not healing that." she said. "And I'm not clumsy!"

"...Yeah... I didn't think you would..."

He turned and tried to wipe the smudge from his forehead, but it just wiped the scorch mark further across his forehead. He looked like the opposite of a ninja.

"Gah!... Nothing goes right for me, you know it?"

Alyss phased her hand into a shadow. "Let me cool that down for you." she said, playfully. She punched her faded fist through his head and giggled.
