Xzuk sat bolt upright at the noise and was on his feet in less than half a second.

Then he noticed Alyss on the floor and smiled.

"Sorry to startle you. I snore sometimes.. but I've never seen it scare someone off of a bed before..."

Alyss smiled, dazed. "No, don't worry. It's my fault, I just didn't hear you come in, that was all. You surprised me a little bit. It is a nice day outside?" she asked, getting up and drawing the huge curtains. Sunshine streaked in through the blinds and Alyss held her hand up to her face.
"Gosh, Jump is awfully lovely, isn't it?" she said, wistfully. "Much nicer than Cork is."

"Ahh!!! Sunlight!"

He pulled the covers over him. He hadn't been up early in forever...

He peeked out from the covers as his eyes adjusted... it was so bright...

"So this is morning huh?"

He smiled a little before stretching.

Alyss sniggered slightly. "I'm taking it you aren't an early bird. Oh, c'mon...it's 7AM, that's not early! I haven't slept that long in months."
She quickly washed down her clothes and self with the shadows and she felt much cleaner. "That's better."
She sat down on the edge of the bed and yawned slightly. "What's a Slade?" she asked.

"Jeez... is it 7 am? Ugh... I usually get up at 11...."

He stood up and grabbed one of his union jacks and a pair of black leather pants and got dressed.

"A Slade? Uhm.... like... the person? Or just a definition?"

He began fixing his bangs and his ponytail...

Alyss nodded. "No, i know the person. I trained with a person called Slade years ago to try and control my powers, but he was quite nasty and I left. Well, escaped. He doesn't give up easily I can tell you. But no, someone had written something about Slade in a paper in the Common Room," she looked at Xzuk. "Is he an enemy?"

Xzuk stopped dead when he heard she was an apprentice of Slade... She seemed good.. and he was sure she was... but.. Slade had ways of maintaining a bond under any circumstance...

"Slade is one of the most famous super villains. He was the original Titans' arch rival... You.. Met him?"

Alyss stopped dead. "He's, a villain? But, he was so caring and helpful...until. Well, he never asked for anything of my powers, he only wanted to help me control them. But he started sparring with me and hurting me, so I said I was quitting. He wasn't really happy with that. But I got away eventually. The only thing he has on me now is this.." she drew back her sleeve and a small 'S' tattoo was engraved on her inner wrist. "But he can't do anything with a simple tattoo can he?"
She got up and looked out the window again. "So, I'm free of him?"

Xzuk grabbed a device that looked like a flashlight and walked out of the bathroom.

"Can I see that scar please?"

He held her hand for a moment and turned on the device as a red beam shown down on her wrist.. There were no flashes of green so she was clear of any time of a tracking device...

"Slade has ways of finding people. He could find Kasumi if he wanted to... I can only hope that you're free of him... Because if he comes after you, I won't be able to protect you."

The smile disappeared from his face... Slade was just too smart and too strong..

Alyss looked down at her wrist and back up at Xzuk. "There is one more thing. But I swear, its been inactive for years."
She grabbed the flashlight and held it to her neck, where a flash of green appeared. She looked at him, terrified. "But he hasn't been looking for me for years, he wouldn't...not now. Besides, I thought he would be dead by now?"

"One can only hope..."

He pocketed the device and looked back to Alyss.

"You'll be fine. You look like you can handle yourself. As for Slade... We could take him together."

"I'm not evil! I promise. But as for controlling myself...don't be too sure. A year ago I...killed people without knowing it. But I met a girl who told me she did this sometimes and I didn't think much of it. Should I be worried?" she looked at Xzuk and smiled slightly. "Don't think bad of me."

He sat down on the bed and patted the spot next to him.

"C'mon. We need to talk. First off, I could never think badly of you, but I would like to hear my about your history. Feel free to ask me any questions about mine."

He smiled and laid back.

"I'm just curious is all. I've killed someone before too... accidental of course... and I've tried to kill someone before... on purpose... because of what they did to Sumi. I failed both times."

Alyss sighed and flopped down beside him. "Shoot, what do you want to know? And also, where are you from?" she asked, quietly.

"There's really only two things nagging at me... What did Slade teach you? And who was the girl?"

He remembered her question a second later...

"I'm a floridian. Sunshine and steamy weather haha..."

He smiled and looked over at her waitin for an answer.
