New Years Truce Party! (Open to everyone!!)

On the eve of the New Year every single Hero, Villain and other people of interest who couldn't be classified as either woke up to discover a invitation addressed to them waiting at the entrances of their respective homes and hide outs. What was strange about the invites were that they were listed to their real name, not the person they pretended to be.

" Dear (Insert name here)

You have been invited to the first of what will hopefully be an annual 'Steel City New Years Party' hosted by yours truly. While you may not know who I am, I clearly know about you. This is your chance to get out of the hideouts, take a break from your night job and simply celebrate the New Year with people like yourself.

I have booked out the Pylon for the whole night for this occasion, simply so that you all can avoid having to worry about everyday 'normal' people from seeing you taking a night off. Party starts at 9PM.

Please note that while weapons are allowed to be brought, accepting this invitation would be considered a truce of sorts. If you have a grudge with someone, it can wait until tomorrow.

8:59 PM. Pylon, Steel City.

The Pylon was oddly silent on this New Years Eve. Normally it would have been packed but since the place had been booked out there was no one here yet...expect for the band that was setting itself up on the stage and the few members of staff that were getting ready for the party to come.

marceline was sitting down on the CEILING. since she could float and control her hair it look like when she is normally sitting with her hair flowing down her back. she got her when she felt like it since she doesn't really dig party. true she does sing but this is int Ooo just a....boring room. well at least their super powered. she was tuning her axe bass on her lap and was telekinesis in place so it felt weightless in her hands. it didn't seem right tonight so she brought a little bit of bug milk in her pocket, she didn't want to hear her dad but she doubt he would stand a chance against people here. another thing is that she love adventure and is a daredevil so she didn't know why she brought it with her.she thought for a moment and it seem it would be funny to watch.

Nikki came in through the kicked open door, sniffing the air to make sure she wasn't going to be ambushed out of nowhere. Though who would attack a huge ferret? Nikki could smell there was some one here, but couldn't see them any where. She didn't think to look up on the ceiling.

She let out a small growl to try to get who ever was hiding to come out to where she could see them. She started sniffling across the floor but it didn't seem the scent stuck to the floor.

"Why can't I ever have a normal night?" She thought to herself annoyed. "Of course, being a were ferret probably means I don't get normal."

As the clock stuck the hour, the doors leading to the backrooms of the Pylon flew open with a grace and class that hadn't been seen in the Pylon... ever.

Wielding a cane was a figure who appeared to be in his late teens / early twenties who was wearing a pair of sunglasses with short, black slightly spiky hair. He was wearing a strange looking suit. While it appeared to be a well tailored suit that was informal enough to be worn anywhere but formal enough to go to a special occasion, the right side of it was dyed a rich looking deep purple while the left was a bright orange.

Taking a few steps forwards into the room the 'Host' for the evening looked around the room, seemingly disappointed with the number of people there until his eyes landed on Spider-girl. At the sight of the red head, a small but warm smile appeared on his face as he took a deep breath.

"Since it appears that everyone else has decided to be fashionably late, I guess I'll put off the whole introduction speech I had planned on hold until later. Until more people show up, make yourselves at home ladies. While I'm well aware of who you all are, feel free to call me Sen. If anyone has any songs that they want to hear, just have a word with the band and they will try their best to play it. Drinks are also on the house. Enjoy yourselves. "

With that said, Sen smiled openly as he started to make his way towards the band himself, fully expecting to be intercepted before he got there.

Still holding the invitation, Haruhi walked in the two doors to the Pylon, not much later than Nikki. She was a bit confused of why she was invited to a place she had never been and by someone she didn't know.

"Hello?" she said as she stood close to the middle of the room, looking around it. She only caught sight of Nikki and the still setting up band. Her ears twitched as she sensed more people in the room.
She looked to her left and right, and finally up, and caught a glimpse of Spider Girl, and someone she had never met before. She remembered Spider girl from the time they had to save the city, and maybe world, from Hollowman.
She waved up at them to show she knew they were there.
Just as she was about to say hi and greet them the back doors flew open and out stepped a guy in a two colored suit wielding a cane.
Apperantly he was the host and the one who had invited everyone here. He then made his way towards the musicians after notifying about the band and telling themto enjoy the party. Haruhi loved music, every type to be exact, as long as it had a good beat.

Olivia looked about the room as she entered, rather nervous really. She had never been to a party and this one seemed like as good a place as any to start. Though she wasn't expecting spider girl to be here. She hoped there wouldn't be any problems, after all it had only been that one time and she hadn't hurt her, just the one man and a wall.

But maybe she could just avoid her. After all there were plenty of interesting people here, though the other girl on the ceiling was more than slightly out of reach. But the man who was their host, he was on the ground, along eighths mojority of the people here. Olivia breifly wondered what the pylon was usually like. She began to walk towards the host then veered off to one of the seats near the wall, she felt weak without her rifle, now all she had was her knife and while it was useful, it wasn't as intimidating as the large powerful rifle. She sat glancing at the rest of the people in the room.....she would have to talk to someone eventually, or maybe someone would talk to her, it was a small crowd afterall. She decided to bide her time.

What a lovely crop of ladies to make my night even more amusing.

It was a gross through, but unfortunately a common one for the blood-lustful shadowmancer, especially because he lay perfectly undetected in the shadows, a skill that he was terrible good at. He was know as a few different titles, the most common being “Fake,” another, the obedient hound for the infamous metahuman-hunting organisation called “L.A.W.,” and the lesser-acknowledged identical twin brother to a certain Liev Aleksandr Ehrlichmann, whose relationship with close kin was only by blood and not by bond. Kaiser had actually tried to kill Liev on numerous occasions as well as the shapeshifter’s Teen Titan tagalongs.

He would be highly disappointed if Liev did not attend such an opportune event, as the young man was already entertained at how these sheep had shown up for the slaughter. Or so, that was what Fake assumed would be the general gist of things eventually.

A truce amongst the likes of so many plebeians, friends and foes, so called ‘heroes’ and ‘villains?’ Fake questioned bemusedly, what a laugh. But is such a strange occasion resistible to the more human natures in all of us, especially little Liev?’

Unlikely.


It was the next invitee’s seventeenth birthday... well, almost. Once the night was over, it would be; Backlash held the symbolic and uncanny birthdate of January 1st: New Year’s Day. It was a time for new beginnings, an opportunity to change old ways like smoking, losing weight, et cetera et cetera. But for Katarzyna Dolinski, the ex-Teen Titan who betrayed her teammates––her friends, including her former boyfriend––yet denied the title of traitor and instead declared it as:

“Evening out the playing field for supers with God-given powers and those who had to build their own superhuman abilities, their legacies, their chance to change the world or destroy it with their own hands.”

This time, her goal was much more personal. She wanted her father to just die already and relieve her from the stress of babysitting a comatose, dead-brained vegetable so she could get on with her life... but what she planned to do with that life was uncertain. Katarzyna didn’t know what to do. The former ‘Electrified’ didn’t know who to trust. The electromagnetic rebel didn’t know how to take the blueprints and plan a prosperous career of double-timing as a crime fighter and ‘select’ metahuman mercenary. But above all, Backlash didn’t know how to purge the guilt of accidentally killing her mother, chopping her own arm off during a naïve stunt, letting herself go for a young hero named JaK Sage, betraying him and the rest of the Titans, murdering the innocent “Model Eleven” out of pure paranoia, turning to cocaine to numb the pain, spitting in the face of death, and abusing the power that she and her father had worked so hard to control and harness for man’s benefit, now used for her own greedy, worldly, selfish purposes.

Maybe I can find some answers at this so-called party. I can’t let myself kill anyone tonight. This is a party, a celebration, plus it’s my birthday; I don’t want to use and extra energy for idiot whims. I can’t do anything stupid. I can’t make a fool out of myself, and I’ve got to play my cards well, but still not doing anything I’ll regret. I owe myself that much. I own my mum that much. Backlash told herself aloud before taking a deep breath, pulling her leather trench coat closer to her metallic black skin, sweeping a couple loose strands of her bright white hair behind her ears and tucked them into her signature high-top ponytail, then nervously began fidgeting with her numerous ear piercings.

Kat had just barely teleported to the familiar Steel City, USA. Sure, she had never been to Pylon, but had always been interested. But when she approached the doors, she began to doubt her decision again.

Should I really go? What if this is a trap? I mean, I’m probably well-broadcasted wanted fugitive by now... but I guess if things start going downward, I can always zap away again, and maybe even––

“Aw, hell, Kat! Just go through the d*mn doors already!”

And with that, Backlash pushed open the doors to Pylon to find herself in a room swarming with...

Superheroes. Just superheroes. And after scanning the room a little more, she was sure of it. Yup. Looks like I’m the first baddie to arrive. Of course, Backlash didn’t know that Fake was in the room, but even if she did, he was hardly a man to stand with anyone, hero or villain.

“Well, I guess arriving a little fashionably late didn’t serve me as well as I expected; so much for subtly, or joining my type of crowd with ease,” Backlash smirked as she began nonchalantly walking down the main aisle, looking for somewhere to sit. Of course, she had been referring to villains. What she was doing was gutsy, but she didn’t really care. Something gave her a reassuring air of dominance in her own mind. And with that feeling in heart, Backlash decided to head to where a band had pretty much set up and was ready to go. Amongst the bunch, one blatantly stood out.

“Hey,” Kat began as she tapped on the guy with the cane and half-purple, half-orange suit, “do you know where the host or hostess is? I’m already feeling a little... unwelcome here, and I haven’t quite been keeping up on my death insurance payments.”

Was this whole operation beginning to appear more and more like bad idea?

Absolutely.

Whoever the vampire girl was, she didn't seem in the mood to talk. In any case, someone else caught Liz's eye upon entering the room. It wasn't Sen though, who by the way, she did intended on having a nice long talk with before the night was over about what his end game was here, but rather another young woman.

"No way."

It was the assassin girl, Spider-Girl remembered fighting her a while back. Well truce or no truce, she was a murderer and Lizandra was a hero. Simple as that. Spidey then moved to converge on the woman when she was cut off by none other than, Toji...'

(Mind)
"Of course."

The web-slinger then had to just watch as Olivia slipped away and she was left to answer the wolf boy's questions about orderves.

"Hey Wolfy, and about the treats, I would address all questions to our esteemed host over there. You know he's a demon too, and he tries to be somewhat good. Maybe you guys would get along, eh?"

As Spider-Girl said this she folded her arms and smiled, knowing what she aid was rather kind of an oxymoron. Demons and friendship, ha.

Static figured maybe it was time to resurface to the world.

Of course, whoever sent out those letters left him feeling worried. Who knew that he, Static, was actually Virgil Hawkins? Of course, maybe there was a database. Or maybe no one was as careful as they thought they were, with their real identities.

He, too, after much debate, decided on going. Some of the other Titans were, and hey, why should he miss out on the fun? He then decided to go for the more casual approach – Jeans, shirt. Shoes. None of his superhero get up – Save the mask. He decided to play it safe. Wear the mask.

Then, if no one else was wearing the mask…He could just take it off. Seemed like the better option, right?

Most villains didn’t have to worry about hiding their real identities, but Virgil, as a hero, took every precaution.

He’d even made his way to Steel City, slyly turning up outside the club at the same time as a girl with bright pink hair entered.

He stopped.

He knew that girl. That was Jinx. She was on every Titan database he’d read through – a former HIVE member. And if former HIVE members were turning up tonight…Maybe it was better Virgil went. As back up. He followed after her, taking in his surroundings. He then saw Toji – And another girl. And he assumed they were the right people to associate with.

“So am I the only guy to turn up still wearing his mask or what?” He said, sidling into the conversation. He wasn’t always sure whether or not he was just rudely butting in, but he didn’t want to get stuck in an awkward conversation with someone he’d tried to beat up, either.

When Jinx found that invite, she was in one of those moods that ended in her saying, “Why the hell not?”

She wasn’t planning on doing anything that night anyway, apart from sitting by herself in her apartment, maybe reading a book and going to bed once it hit midnight.

But a party sounded fun. Maybe she’d run into someone she knew, anyone. Hero, villain, she’d settle for any sort of human – Well, metahuman, alien or even demon – contact. But she wanted people to know who she was, too.

So she did her hair, in that trademark Jinx style – Bright pink. Two, spiked up pigtails. And she wore a trademark black dress, with pink and black horizontal stripes. Boots. The original Jinx get up.

And then she left. Heading for a club. Last time she’d been to a club of any sort, she’d trashed it, and it just didn’t seem right to be heading to Pylon to actually partake in whatever…Well, whatever she was supposed to partake in. Who was the smart ass who arranged this anyway? Were they trying to get Pylon destroyed?

Jinx shrugged to herself, stopping outside the door and pushing it open. She immediately crossed the room, taking in everyone’s faces. There were a few heroes here. Some people she didn’t know. But they were all Supers of some sort – This many people, looking and acting the way they did (there was a girl on the ceiling for God’s sake) meant that she had at least got the right address.

Senshuken smiled as the first person came to intercept him. While he may not always be right, it happened so often that it almost scared him.

I may be late for this party, but doesn't look like I'm the only one who will be showing up after the preferred time. Would I be wrong in assuming you're the party host? If so than I have a couple of questions, and you will answer them.

Turning around in order to address the man in the red hood... what was did he call himself again?... Senshuken was cut off by a tap on his shoulder.

“do you know where the host or hostess is? I’m already feeling a little... unwelcome here, and I haven’t quite been keeping up on my death insurance payments.”

Turning around in order to look at the new comer, Senshuken let the grin on his face grow a little. "Since we are starting to fill up the joint a little, I was just about to go introduce the host to everyone as well as answer a couple of questions that was no doubt plauging almost everyones minds. In the meantime, I would like to introduce you to someone more in your boat. This is Red Hood. Red Hood, I would like you to meet Backlash. I'm sure you'll find something in common." With that introduction out of the way, he masterfully slipped away like all good hosts.

Taking a few more steps in order to reach the stage, he quickly climbed the stairs and took his place in the spotlight. Remaining silent for a few seconds in order to get a look at the crowd, his sunglass covered eyes couldn't help but linger on a few people. While he was always happy to see Liz in her Spider Girl outfit, he was rather surprised when his attention turned to one of the newest arrivals.

He knew who Jinx was even if he had never met or seen in person before, but pictures and old video footage did not do her justice. Lowering his sunglasses for a few seconds so that his red eyes were completely exposed and unhinded by the pieces of darkened glass, he wouldn't be ashamed to admit that Jinx's outfit not only suited her, but it really did show her at her best.

Deciding to ponder these new feelings later on, he pushed his glasses back into place before clearing his throat. He still had a party to get underway.

" Ladies and Gentlemen! If you weren't here earlier, my name is Senshuken and I am your host for the evening!" Senshuken held his arms wide at the annoucment, his voice seeming to boom around the Pylon with ease. "Now I know you are all wondering why I am holding this party and just how I know all of you. While I suspect that I will be telling the long version at least once before the night is over, the short version is that I am a high classed supernatural being who is unfairly classied as a demon solely because I refused to side with those hypocrital divine assholes. For those of you keeping score, my realm is the advancement of humanity."

"To this end, I keep the world balanced out behind the scenes. I know for a fact that, unknowingly, each and everyone of you has praised and cursed me respectively at some point during your lives. But this is not why I invited you here for. You see, all of you are what I consider power players. You are on the edge of socity and thus have a great deal of sway over your respective cities. Whenever something major goes down, one of you will almost always be in a positon to influence the outcome in some way or another. You are all VIP's and thus I take the time to keep taps on you and support you from the shadows. "

Clapping his hands together in a single, loud clap that echoed around the building. "So, I decided to allow you all to celebrate the New Year in the presense of your peers. Now before you freak out and scream things like 'I am nothing like them' and other such things, look around you and think about it for a moment..." Letting his left arm drop to his side, his right arm waved over the gathered crowd. "Each of you, through gift or curse, is different from humanity as a whole. You have all decided to do something with your new found abilities while trying to live your lives to the best of your own judgement. While I'm sure this must be a first for a couple of you, you are currently surronded by people who have in one way or another undergone the same basic things you have. While some might have different ideas on how and why they should use their abilities, at the end of the day this are the people who will be the most consistant in your lives. You might as well enjoy their company, even if it is only for one night. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?"

Falling silent for a few moments, Senshuken let his words sink in before letting the smile return to his face. "If anyone is hungry or thristy the bar over at the side will soon be open. Everything in paid for until Two am so have fun with that. The band will be open to requests as soon as I get off the stage. Now before I forget, I should warn you now that outright fighting here is forbidden. If you want to have a friendly spar or something we can set up an area for that but if you start something tonight I promise you that your life will get very unpleasant very quickly. Well, I think that's everything important so let's get this party started!"

With all the announments taken care of, Senshuken stepped off the stage and landed on the ground with a surprising grace. Behind him, the band sparked to life, filling the room with what was no doubt then first song of the night.

Alpha walked into the door of the Pylon, dressed in unusually normal clothes.

At least nobody will recognize me without my armor... he thought to himself. He quickly thought of other things, realizing there might be a telepath in the crowd of heroes, villains, and in-betweens. At least he wasn't the only Night Hawk at the gathering.

Shaking his head, he went into the crowd and listened to the, uh, host. The host left the stage and the band began to play some music. He looked around for a familiar face. He found few.

Just great. he thought. He walked over to Nikki the were-ferret. "Hey," he said, nonchalantly.
