PostSubject: Silly Question: "Titan" Age   Tue Mar 29, 2011 2:54 am

This may seem a bit ridiculous, but I was wondering if all Teen Titans have to be teenagers. Plotwise and character-wise, Liev and Kaiser's age seems to be set a little low. Right now I have them down as nineteen, but I think it would make more sense if they were twenty or so. Of course, if being a Teen Titan at age 20 is... um, strange, I have no problem with keeping them nineteen years old.

Thanks! ^^

Cyborg was 19 in the TV show and in Comics Cyborg and Starfire were still part of the team well into adulthood. However, they seemed to be taking roles more as trainers and mentors then teammates.

Also, Primarch Joshua was a Titan and is still really, although he's like an adult alien emperor just chronologically he's 16 or it might be 18 now not sure.

Additionally, Raven has been an adult many times in comics, but keeps dieing and being reborn younger so that's how she stays part of the team.

Not to mention, the cut off age could actually be 21 since in America that's when you're technically an adult. An example was that once Nightwing and Wally West AKA Flash and former Kid Flash hit their 20's they just changed the name of the team from 'Teen Titans' to just 'Titans' to situate change in ages; but, again they were still Titans.

Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to get at is unless you're 21 it shouldn't be too much of a big deal and even then you could just be a vet. However, Emblem might want to keep the Teen Titans as exactly that...Teens.

Nothing silly about it, I must say.

Yet I have to take this out of context a little. The focus of the site has shifted a little bit more towards the 20's for some members, but I wonder how much age really affects it all. I mean, in all honesty, there have been multiple Demonic characters on the board. They're all quite old (hundreds of years) and hide among humankind. I don't like such characters, but I have to stay objective in their assessment.

I don't really count age, it's more of a community thing, filling in what you do with the Teen Titans genre. I'd prefer to keep things teens, but I have not yet claimed the right to dismiss a character above a certain age or one that differs somewhat from the TT genre.
