~In an undisclosed location.~

Aside from his laptop, one of the greatest tools in Senshuken's array in common day to day business was his mobile phone. It had started its life off as a cheap, nameless brand disposable phone, but its demon owner had needs that required certain... upgrades. These changes had turned something that was considered a piece of junk that was barely considered a phone into one of the greatest communication devices Earth had ever seen. The exact details of what he had done to his phone were difficult to explain, but it stayed untraceable due to casting a much wider signal. Instead of just making contact with the nearest mobile tower, it contacted every single one in the city at once. It made finding the origin signal impossible.

However, the downside was the massive increase in electromagnetic radiation that the phone gave off. If you had the thing placed to your face for longer then ten minutes, you would get a tan there. While not a problem for a demon that could swap to a new body whenever he wished, your normal human would have major problems with it.

Still, when the Ring tone started to place, Sen just listened to the song play for a few seconds before answering it. It was a good song after all.

"This is Mr Ketsueki. How can I help you?"

"Mr. Ketsuki, hi! Erm, it's the girl from the coffee shop that you gave your business card to. I-I just wanted to see how you were holding up and again, thank you for saving my life. If you hadn't been there to stop that man, well I'm not sure I'd still be alive to even say thank you."

It was a rather strange feeling, talking to the girl he had broken his neutrality to assist. If he recalled correctly, she was rather cute to boot. By no means was this the reason why he had stepped in on her behalf, but it was an added bonus. Truth was, Sen rather preferred human women to their demonic counterparts. While there were many demons of Lust and Desire and they were all famous for being great lovers, the physical experience was rather lacking. A lot of these demons powers came from their ability to twist the minds of mortals. The sheer pleasure they felt was nothing more then a mental illusion. Besides, they tended to want only one thing anyway. Human relationships were much more complex and for-filling.

"The cure girl from the coffee shop? The one who 'accidentally' picked a fight and fell into one of the robbers, spraying his eyes with burning hot coffee? Yes. I remember you. I take it if you're calling that you are looking for some sort of information. The question I have to ask is 'What?'. "

"I wanted to know more about you, other than your name and the fact that you saved my life of course. Are you like one of those super-heroes on TV, I don't know many men who carry around knives in their coat like that...Or, are you some kind of secret agent for the government and you knew those robbers were coming? That's why you reacted so fast huh, you're some kind of assassin aren't you!?!"

For a few seconds, there was silence. And then, Senshuken started to chuckle. It wasn't a mean or sarcastic chuckle, but it clearly showed his amusement at the question.

"You are not the first person who has asked me who I was, and you won't be the last. But the easiest way to describe me would be the one true middle man. I am the person people come too when they need something done that they are unwilling or unable to do for themselves. I am the one no one betrays because I supply so much information, know to many secrets, and in the off chance someone is dumb enough to try me they tend to live to regret it.

But I already know about myself, and you already know enough as it is. Let's learn about something more interesting... let's learn about you, Ms Rinehart."

Over the phone, the woman would have heard the movement of paper as Senshuken opened up a small folder of information that he had gathered on one Lizandra Susan Rinehart. It hadn't been that hard to track the information down. He had gotten her name from a newspaper article and a two minute news report in connection with the Coffee shop they had first met in. Sometimes, all you need is a name and a picture to go with it.

Clearing his throat, Senshuken began to read from his file.

" Your full name is Lizandra Susan Rinehart and you were born in May, 1996 in Metropolis. Your mother is Bio-Engineer Amina Rineheart and your father was explorer Daniel Webbster who was killed while on one of his expeditions by some of the locals of the ruins his party was investigating. Officially, there is only one person still confirmed alive from that expedition, the rest either being confirmed dead or legally considered dead. Shortly after your fathers death, you ran away from home and have either lived or been seen in the cities of Metropolis and Gotham before coming to Steel City. The only reason you are living here is because you can't afford to leave.

While I have much more information on you, I do believe this is enough to get the point across. So tell me Liz, what can I do for You?
"

"Here's something you can do for me; since you so much about me, then you know my mom has a hundred thousand dollar reward for anyone who can return me home. Well while in Gotham I ran into some gangs, and now that I'm in Steel I seem to be having the same caliber of problem. That coffee shop incident earlier, for all I know could've been an attempt on my life or some low lives trying to kidnap me for the ransom money. Basically I guess what I'm asking is if you can tell me everything you know about the people in this city that have even the cops afraid to patrol certain neighborhood's at night."

A small chuckle slipped out of the demon's lips as her words confirmed a little something he had added up in his mind. Checking the news reports around the same time that Liz had run away from home, Senshuken had discovered the first appearance of 'Web-Star'. While the news and media outlets called her Spider-Girl, the interview tape of one of earlier thugs she kicked the crap out of had told police that she called herself 'Web-Star'.

It also seemed that no matter where Liz went, Spider Girl would follow.

" Very well. I will have you know that the men in the coffee shop were independents simply trying to earn fast number for a fix. They were both single men with no children to speak of... at least legitimate ones that they helped raised or anything. They were just going to rob the place and leave.

Now, you wish to learn about the gangs of Steel? I could tell you, but that would be a waste of your free piece of information. Instead, I will give you some quite vital intel. Just what you do with it is none of my concern and completely up to you. In two days time, a Behemoth strike force of two meta-humans will attack one of the Teach Crime Families opium warehouses. You will find the address in your apartments mail box in the morning. While losing the warehouse would upset the power balance in Steel, there is more to this then meets the eye. It would appear that someone in the Behemoth's is experimenting on opium, trying to change the compound into a battle drug that deadens the nerves while enhancing battle proneness. So far all it does is burn out the nervous system completely while driving the poor bastard into a murderous rage before dying. The amount of opium in this warehouse would give them enough supplies to greatly advance, if not complete this project... provided on who is running the experiments.

I trust this information is useful to you any friends you wish to inform."

"Not that I'm complaing, because I'm a SUPER gossip and all, but why are you even telling me all this. Heck, why did you even give me your number and if you knew who the men were and why they were coming why didn't you stop them before they even got into the Coffee shop? I mean, wouldn't it be MUCH smarter to tell all the police this stuff instead of me?"

"Quite simple Liz. I learned about the two thugs by hacking into their e-mails after I learned the name of the one I killed in the Coffee shop. Much like you, their are people in certain circles who would rather I remained silent on certain things. These tend to be rather short sighted, stupid people that no body would miss. As to why I am telling you this... Let's just say I'm guessing you have a friend in a high place that might be interested in stopping this. Personally, I am having a rather hard time finding out names at the moment in regards to this topic. The Behemoth's are keeping this project of theirs as secret as possible. Very little is being written down and other then the test subjects, which don't live too long, only three Behemoths seem to be connected. Two of them are going to be on this strike force. I will be... paying who I believe the third one is a visit during this time. I require someone to keep the other two busy."

Chuckling a little at her suggestion of getting the police involved, Senshuken's answer pretty quickly dashed the idea. " Even if they weren't too corrupt to do anything, do you really want to pit them against Meta-humans?"

"Indeed. But real heroes tend to be suicidally depressing when they are not busy and homicidal zealots when they are. What we need right now is a good person with a kind heart who wants to make a difference in the world. No more, no less. We shall speak again Ms Web-star. You can be sure of that."

And with a single push of a button, the connection was lost.

Senshuken smiled to himself as he removed the phone from his ear, well aware that some of the skin on his face was now darker then it had been minutes ago. Thankfully, he was using a body he kept in a freezer for this sort of business. Wouldn't be a good idea to give up a good body to radiation poisoning, now was it?
