| Cain could only grin at how Diana reacted, but she left it. She could torture her plenty later. She turned to Isabel as she shared her thoughts on their new hire, Charlotte. And as expected, she commented on how silent Charlotte was. "Well, depending on how much you two get along, perhaps she'll tell you why eventually. But outside of me with her thoughts, that's how she communicates."
She nodded gently when Isabel said that they should wait to see how well she did for her first day. Cain thought of something and then knelt down next to Isabel, kissing her on her forehead. She might feel some energy entering her. "Isabel, darling, I have something to ask of you. It's a special job suited for you, I think." She looked into Isabel's eye, and smiled patiently. She didn't want to endanger her, but the meetings with Order were becoming more frequent. "You remember who's in charge when I'm gone, yes?"

| And so it was that the girl who didn't talk got paired up with the girl who didn't like to talk. Maybe Diana would be a little less bitter after her caffeine hit, or maybe that was just her default attitude. In any case, the arcade looked like a pretty fun place to be a kid, or at least have a childlike attitude on fun. So many games to play, so many lights. It was enough to keep Charlotte distracted just long enough to not notice Diana changing looks at first. A T-shirt and cap? Probably a good idea, honestly. Coming to work every day in a fancy dress could quickly be way more work than it was worth. But first impressions were important too.
Diana flatly stated that she assumed Charlotte didn't know anything about technology. This could be interpreted a lot of different ways, even taken as an offense; but Charlotte was down to give Diana the benefit of the doubt on her doubt. That was until a few seconds later.
...
At that moment, Charlotte froze and let her eyes drift off to stare at nothing as she took an expression of pondering and confusion. That was a completely relevant point. Why did Diana assume that Charlotte 'didn't know electronics' when the girl had made her introduction with the use of a text to speech app on her phone? That didn't demonstrate a familiarity with tech? Then what did? And where did the assumption come from? She hid the confused look behind a straight face when Diana then turned around with rags and spray bottles in hand. First days were for good impressions. Don't assume negatives, Charlotte.
Taking the instructions and supplies she was given, Charlotte made sense of it and took what she needed to get to work. It was a bit odd that she would be given spray bottles and then be told specifically not to use them. Maybe Diana needed them for something else? The idea to ignore that lack of clarity and obey her orders with rigid obedience was tempting, but it didn't make sense to act like a mindless machine when Cain could just as easily conjure up some actual machines to do the job (or so she assumed). So as inconvenient as it was for Charlotte to pause, pull out her phone, and type up a question; she decided to do just that. Asking questions on your first day was probably a good thing anyway, no matter how annoying or how much effort it was.
"If the spray isn't for the machines, what is it for?"
She hit play, and in an attempt to answer her own question she would pick up a bottle to start reading over the labels. Was this a sanitizer? Polish? Nope, looked like sanitizer.
...
Yeah, that would make sense.

| Diana blinked simply at her response, and her already deadpan expression... intensified with deadpanness as if she wasn't sure if Charlotte was being serious or not. Great... she was going to have to keep an eye on this one. She was positive it'd have been clear that she had a rag, and if she couldn't spray the machines, she could spray the rag instead. She was positive now the only reason she wasn't up front was because of the being mute. "You spray the rag, and wipe the outside of the machines down..." Diana said reasonably flat for what may have easily irritated someone else. She was not making a good impression at all. "The sanitizer is for the joysticks, buttons and other surfaces, the glass cleaner is for the screens- and again... spray the rag- alittle, don't soak them, and then wipe the stuff down," Diana repeated her instructions more clearly.
But that didn't change the fact she was going to watch Charlotte like a hawk to ensure she didn't accidentally damage one of the machines... they weren't even hers but do you know how hard it is to find an arcade these days? So assuming there wasn't any further waste of her time, Diana would start going around popping open token and ticket dispensers- she'd be emptying or replacing tickets which gave her a good reason to keep an eye on Charlotte.
