”Blood is thicker than water. It tastes better, too.”
Heroine DDj13rj

«««IDENTITY»»»

Summary: Heroine is a teenager who was recently ( in the past few months ) been turned into a half-vampire. She is also a recovering heroin addict, working on replacing that biological need with a new one: blood.
Codename: Calls herself ‘Heroine’ semi-ironically; the drug heroin is her drug of choice, and she’s anything but a female ‘superhero.’
Full Name: Keir ( pronounced keer ) Huntsmann
Age: 17
Race: Vampiric Superhuman, Caucasian
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Is this a canon?: No

«««PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION»»»

Hair Color: Varies; changes at random but it usually a rosy pink colour
Eye Color: Seafoam Green, Pure Black when using psionic powers
Gender: Female
Height: 5’11"
Weight: Dangerously skinny
Other Traits: Heroine is gorgeous, alluring in the sense that she’s very mysterious and modelesque.
Attire: Wears only long, loose black t-shirts, short ripped/faded/stained/frayed denim shorts, and large skater shoes that once belonged to her late girlfriend.

«««SKILL SET»»»

Main Power Origins: Vampirism

Powers

SUPERHUMAN ACUTE SENSES: Heroine’s senses of sight and smell are enhanced to levels well beyond that of normal humans. Heroine is able to detect objects with perfect clarity at much greater distances than a normal human. She retains this clarity, even in near-total darkness. She is also able to see into the infra-red end of the electromagnetic spectrum, allowing her to see individuals at night by their body heat. Her sense of smell is similarly enhanced, able to detect the scent of blood in the air from miles away.

REGENERATIVE HEALING FACTOR: Like true vampires, Heroine possesses an accelerated healing factor that enables her to rapidly regenerate damaged bodily tissues much faster and more extensively than a normal human. Injuries such as gunshots, slashes, and severe burns heal within hours or minutes, depending upon their severity. Though highly developed, Heroine's healing powers aren't sufficient to regenerate missing limbs or organs.

PSUEDO-IMMORTALITY: Heroine does not age physically. She is immune to age-related diseases but is vulnerable to just about everything else that a normal human would.

FANGS AND CLAWS: Like supernatural vampires, Heroine possesses elongated canines that she uses to pierce the flesh of other beings for the purpose of consuming their blood. Heroine can also, however, use her fangs as weapons in very close combat situations. She also possesses a single retractable claw at the tip of each finger. The claws are very sharp, capable of rending human flesh and with ease.

PSIONIC GLIDING: Through mental concentration, Heroine is able to glide through the air over short distances. However, Heroine can only glide at speeds of about 35 miles an hour.

PSIONIC BLASTS: Heroine can emit blasts of telekinetic energy. These manifest in invisible waves and creates a blast powerful enough to knock anything/anyone from a small child to a Herculean berserker. These blasts are short-range, and must be created within 20ft of the target to produce enough concentrated power. This power is mainly used to knock a foe on their back or an object backward.

LEVITATION: Keir levitate objects up to twenty-five pounds but is working on levitating larger objects. She cannot levitate objects that are in motion, however, ( i.e. a speeding bullet ) only put them in motion. She can levitate herself and tends to hover off of the ground rather than walk or stand.

Skills
blowing large bubble gum bubbles • playing the electric guitar • singing loudly • good lyricist • great knowledge of metal/rock/punk bands • can make a clover with her tongue • persuasive • good liar • street smart • good aim

Abilities
Weirdly flexible for being so tall.

Physical Weaknesses
Unlike most vampires, Heroine is not a physically strong individual. If fact, she is quite weak from drug use and lack of physical training. She relies mostly upon her psionic abilities to fend for herself. Like true vampires, Heroine is weak to your typical vampire weapons such as holy artifacts. Crucifixes, holy water, pure silver, and garlic cause her to blister when coming in contact with her skin. However, being only half-vampire, she is unaffected by sunlight and can go out in the daylight without consequence. Her eyes and skin, however, are especially sensitive to sunlight as would be to an albino individual.

Mental Weaknesses
Addiction – Heroine lives up to the stereotypical addict. Her bane is heroin, with the drug being at the centerfold of her weaknesses. She has a very one-track mind and a lack of conviction for most other things. Combine that with her need for blood, and you’ve got two nasty addictions. Being on heroin causes her to have a lapse in memory, experience bouts of paranoia, have trouble concentrating which in turn affects her powers.

Equipment
VAPING PEN: Heroine does not drink blood like a regular vampire would. Instead, she replaces vaping cartridges with blood cartridges and intakes blood that way. She exsanguinates her victims by knocking them unconscious, creating a wound, and collecting blood in the special receptacles. She does this to break away from modern vampire stereotypes and because, quite simply, she thinks it is “cool.”

«««CEREBRAL PROFILE»»»

Personality
Keir used to be a bad, bad kid. She was the kind of girl who is a perfect example of all of your parents, teachers, and governments warn school kids about becoming: a drug addict, a nuisance, and a failure. But after hitting rock bottom and frying her brain one too many times from her drug usage, her powers were negated. A lot of people got hurt when she got high. But she does have some redeeming qualities: Keir is a free-spirit, very open-minded and accepting of others. She has a strong sense of justice and a set of solid philosophical principals. She’s a bit of a hypocrite in that sense. She curves the urges to drink blood and do heroin by playing video games, eating copious amounts of sour gummy worms and giant lollipops, chewing on gum, and dancing like a lunatic.

She lacks definitive motivations and the urge to have a place in society. While she wants to have a solid future, she rejects common notions of society such as going to college, getting a job, and being part of a family. She does not see her powers as strong enough to get her into the superhero world, but fears that may be the only way she can actually do something positive for a change.

«««PERSONAL BACKGROUND»»»

Family Members: Keir’s parents are out of the picture and has no siblings. She was put into the foster care system at a young age before running away. After being turned into a vampire, Keir took up residence in Le Théâtre de Petits Cauchemar and considers Facade to be her new family.
Place of Origin: Jump City, USA

History
Keir Huntsmann was born to less-than-spectacular parents under less-than-spectacular circumstances. She has never known her father and only knows of her mother from what Child Protective Services has told her: a heroin addict with no regards for the child she brought into the world. Keir was bounced around in the foster care system for her entire youth, never settling with a family due to her volatile personality. Always getting into trouble and fighting with those who sought to give her a home, Keir was a problem child and made it very hard for anyone to love her. And those who did love her, she pushed away. One family of whom she got along with quite well ended up passing her along because their initial belief that she might develop some sort of superpower due to her magically color-changing hair turned out to be for nought. She grew up roughly and with a rather grim outlook on the world. It seemed to turn on her, and so she turned away from it.

Her life began to look up when she met a girl, Niji, her age and became quite smitten. The two became fast friends and would have been a good match if it weren’t for the introduction of heroin. Keir took to the drug quickly, having a genetic disposition to the stuff as well as a want to impress her now-girlfriend. It thoroughly destroyed her life and led her down a path so dark that one night, she and her girlfriend entered a drug den where Keir received a bad hit. She overdosed and would have died if Niji had not revealed herself to be a fledgling vampire and passed on the gift –– or rather, curse –– of eternal life. Niji was able to get herself and Keir to safety, where she helped her transition to being a vampire… well, half-vampire. Keir’s addiction to heroin grew to be an addiction to blood as well, and with both vices needing to be satisfied, her life only became more complicated.

On night, Niji had gone out to obtain more blood for the two of them, but uncharacteristically didn’t come back when dawn approached. Worried for her love, Keir went to find her. She visited their normal haunts to no avail and had just about given up on the conquest when she came across an active crime scene. Draw in like many curious people, she found to her horror that the crime in question was the apparent murder of Niji, who had clearly been killed with anti-vampire weaponry. A message written in the girl’s blood read “DEATH TO ALL VAMPIRES,” a war cry against her kind. She had only been a vampire for a little over a week, and already her life had been put into jeopardy. Reeling from the tragedy, homeless, and hopeless, Keir vowed to find her girlfriend’s killer but in the mean time sought refuge in a certain seemingly-abandoned Shinto shrine.

When the owner, a yokai priestess called Rapture found her there, she turned Keir over to her associate, a shapeshifter called Facade, who ran a shelter for super powered individuals. There, she gained a little traction and even agreed to enroll in Jump City’s school for teenagers with super powers. Facade also helped guide her emotions and begin to understand what it was like to have powers. He and the school helped her discover that in addition to the typical vampire abilities, she could levitate objects and create powerful psionic blasts. Now on the path to success and with a new title, Keir became “Heroine” and now seeks to not only find the person or people responsible for Niji’s murder, but to punish evil-doers in general. She is still incredibly volatile and inexperienced, she is leagues away from being the capable individual she wants to be.
