Rapture simply nodded in response, following the young man until they reached the first floor. After that, she went about planning what to do about the mess that the yokai had left. Thankfully, there were no stray spiders or other traces of the beasts, a peculiar but not unwelcome notion. She thought for just a brief moment to ask Verdant Gale to stay behind and help clean, but this was her problem now, not his. He had fought gallantly and would surely leave a more experienced fighter, if nothing else. Hopefully, he would not suffer too much psychological damage from the ordeal; it would be understandable if so, but his resolve bade well for the petite powerhouse’s subconscious.
The question as to why the temple had allowed such a bizarre chain of events would remain unanswered, which was fine on Rapture’s part; she had found that trying to dissect the sanctuary’s ghostly sentient nature to be a fruitless task. What mattered now was the future. Hopefully, it would be one filled with cooperation should the two unlikely teens meet again.
