Introduction

1) Making An Account

For the most part this section is quite simple, the most important part of doing this is the name you choose due to the new addition of Tagging other members. You will be permitted to many really any name within reason but there are some catches, certain names will require others to do something different with tagging and other names will flat out not allow others to tag you at all if you have them.

Normally one word names are a simple @[there username] Though when you have multiple words in your name that are separated in one way or another you typically must add in " " around the name ex @"Energy The Elf" the other parts to names in tags are when there are symbols in the name such as the following.

@test@sd.com
@<3Natalia<3
@#Natalia (# Hashtag will be taken into account not @)

If you are able to successfully tag another and are tagged it should look something like this @Energy. Please take this into account when you name your account.Other than this creating your account should be rather straight forward though if it's not and you are having troubles we have a discord that you can join as a guest in and ask for some help there normally we have at least 1 person roaming around in there at all times. ( https://discord.gg/mgYHbPR )

If you do not we have a form on site called the medical bay (http://ttrpg.forumotion.com/f3-medical-bay ) here guests are permitted to post and reply in threads. You can use this form to post and ask your questions.

Character Creation

2) Creating a character

Creating a character is typically the first thing members do right after creating their accounts, at this point the first thing you may want to think about is, would I want to be a canon character or an original character.  Now certain canons may not be permitted due to how strong they may be in the cannon though if you can come up with an in character reason that has been approved as to why they are weaker to better fit the site you will be allowed to use them.

Some cannons though due to wanting to keep them for staff only due to plot reasons. Though a way around this to get to the cannon you want can be that they are from an alternate time line, another universe, or other such reasons. Once you have figured this out you will need to go and get the proper template to fill out in the character creation section ( http://ttrpg.forumotion.com/t6179-character-creation-templates#97115 ).  If you need to put up an incomplete app add [WIP] To the end of the name and remove it totally when it is done.

Please note you only need to do a sample rp if you are making your first ever character on site or a cannon character. This sample should not be rehashing your general history. It can be a scene from it but not be retelling it and it should be done as your character. If your cannon character is not the original cannon in its entirety we will be judging your sample based on the version of the cannon you are making.

On the site you may have up to 4 characters that are gained purely from post counts alone.

The 1st  Upon Joining
The 2nd after 100 posts
The 3rd after 300 Posts
And The 4th after 550 Posts

Besides these you can have a canon character slot at any point in time though these characters become up for forfeit after 1 month of inactivity rather than the usual 2 months if it is an OG version of a cannon character (Not from an Alt timeline nor an AU.

In Adition you can gain characters from events that you have earned from various diffrent tasks asked of an event that varrie from event to event. If you drop or lose this character you can not use its slot for another character, you can either bring them back or not.

You in the future will be permitted a Student slot. To long term members this will be reminiscent of a Beamer but with the twist of they must attend the Spiritual Renaissance Academy which you can learn more about by following the following link. ( http://ttrpg.forumotion.com/t6520-spiritual-reisguance-academy-unoffical-plot-group ) They though must be under the age of 17, and start off at a weak level which is elaberated in their app. These students can be of any alignment though be warned if they get kicked out of the academy by being caught breaking the rules and have not been enrolled (Officially approved) For 2 months or longer first you will be given 1 month to rp them getting back enrolled. If you do not by then you will be asked to drop them. If you get them re enrolled again and get kicked out we will not make you get them back in and you can do with them what you will at that point plot/school wise.

You can also level up these characters from their current point, in their apps the tiers will be explained but you will have a set of 4 that are reached after every 3 months of you having the character. This showing your character getting stronger by learning things from the schools. At the end of your 4 tiers you will be able to make a full strength character. In addition at this point you can request to have a final exam in character. Doing this will gift your character an addition sub power to one of their currents and 1 extra expert skill that you have chose under their major (Can be found in their main app)  After they graduate or they have left the school besides their powers you can do anything with this character though you can only have one student character slot at a time. You may join the school with other characters though you must wait for school events before you can gain any bonuses from being a student due to already being the equivalent of a max tier student from the start.

Right now these are the only ways to get bonus characters but this should be plenty for you all.

4) Character Review

Due to this being an issue in the past I will say this right here and now, if you do not have the power to fly in your app you can not fly if you do not have the ability to shoot kittens from your hands in your app you can’t do that either, if you do not have the skill to fight with swords you can not fight properly with a sword. It doesn't matter if they can in your eyes due to their history or their job, if it is not listed with the others to be approved this will not be permitted. The punishment for repeatedly breaking this rule can range from temporarily lowering your character as one you can rp as, to being banned from using your character all together.

When you write your app you are expected to follow the instructions given to you in the application and mods. This meaning if you are asked in the characters app template to write 200 words for history you need to write 200 words or more.If a mod say you need to  change a power in a certain way you need to do so. If you fail to do so 3 times or more and are blatantly not following directions mods will be permitted to auto reject your app and move it to the graveyard. If you reapp the same character again mods will not review it until 1 month has passed since your last rejection.

When you app a character you must try to the best of your ability to spell things right, use proper grammar, and punctuation. If it is blatantly clear that you are not even trying you will not be approved until things are revised.

Typically when you are approved you need a second approval before you can start rping. Though due to current situations on the sites staff part we have changed it for the time being to a single approval needed. Though please note at any point a GM or Admin can in fact step in and tell you that your rp will be on pause until you edit certain parts of your app if they feel that another has passed you through when you shouldn’t have.

When picking templates you may have any that you feel best fit you unless you are making a spell caster or a student. These kinds of characters require to be handled in their own certain way. That can not be passed back and forth between standard characters and them.

Please note that any mastery of a skill that is one such as hacking, crafting certain things, combat, or anything that a staff member feels is on the stronger side can count as a full blow power. Due to this it will take up a power slot. Please note though that this does not mean that it should be listed in the powers section. Please keep each skill equipment and power in their respective section.

Summons that summon not your typical creature (un altered animals and basic weapons) will need you to explain everything they can do, their size, and other such things. Certain monsters and items you summon that are on the stronger side will require you to have a significant drawback for it or will only allow you to summon that one thing and do nothing else while it is out in play.

5) Teams

Teams will be functioning differently from how they once had on the site. Members typically in character team up with others, and have desires to make their own teams. To me telling them no you can’t makes no sense due to in the real world if there were superheroes and villains running around they may very well team up as official teams. So due to this members will be permitted to make any kind of theme they want.

They can be in as many teams as they want as well but need to make sure that they don't risk running themselves dry, it has to make sense why they are in that many teams, and other such things. So in other words you can join the team if it makes sense and the other team allows it. The requirement to make a team is to have 4 members for the team fully formed together into the team before they can be applied for as an official team. Teams that have members go inactive dropping them from 4 to 3 or less active members will be moved back to unofficial until the teams gets their 4 members back again.

Teams will gain that ability to get renown their own events based around them and even in the sites plot and lore become potentially known by all to be more noteworthy than the titans or more powerful, etc. Each month official teams that have been active for the entire month (Checked by mods posting their movements in the threads from unofficial to official) will be put into a poll for people to vote on their favorites while members can also share what they have done in character that month.

When you post up your team you will be allowed to mark them as accepting new members or not and other such things, due to having the ability to join any team accepting or making your own team there is no reason for a member to go off on these teams if they are not allowed in. If you are rejected you need to respect this. If you are caught going off on a team based on how bad you did and how exactly you did you will be likely punished by being put on team pause and can not join any new teams.

More requirements on what needs to be in your post to become an official team will be found here ( http://ttrpg.forumotion.com/t6550-making-team-rosters-threads ) but just know that you can only bump your thread after 4 days and try to remember that your thread there will be your roster so when you bump you may want to pm staff about it so there isn't a random bump post in your roster.

General Rules

5) Roleplaying Rules

Due to issues in the past with this this sadly needs to be implemented. But from now on you will be required to post a minimum of 200 words in a post which to most is a typical post length. Below you will see an example of what 200 words will look like.

Spoiler:

Now if you are a bit under by 50 words or something we won’t mind but if you continously barely even hit 100 words then we will sadly have an issue. In addition we ask you to put in as much grammar, spelling, and punctuation in your posts as you can. Though this will only become an issue that we will have to address you about is if you flat out seem like you aren’t remotely trying to do any of this repetitively. If you would like a good word count site here is one you could use ( https://wordcounter.net/ ).

Like any other rule set of an rp site the following is just flat out not allowed.

Godmodding
This is the term used to describe typed out actions by individuals that makes other characters do or say things that's unlike them, and/or without their consent. You are not allowed to force any character you do not own to perform any action without their consent. Per example, if Emblem was fighting Krious, I would not be allowed to let Krious say things ('Rainbows make me cry') or be automatically hit by my attacks.

Powerplaying
This term has a slight overlap with Godmodding, but it's meaning is slightly different. While we try to keep a balance in characters to make sure there's still some growth possible and there's no unfair edge they can have, there will always be situations where one character is stronger then the other. Powerplaying basically is a series of actions done by your characters that completely dominates or obliterates your opponent, such as beating them down without any possible escape, defensive mechanism or counterattack possible. Again, without consent of your opponent. Whatever you attempt, your opponent must have the ability to react or do something.

Ninjadodging
This term and Rhinohiding are almost direct opposites of Powerplaying and Godmodding, but they are still quite illegal regarding roleplay activities. Ninjadodging refers to a character dodging everything that is thrown at him, time and time again. I would not think any opponent would still want to RP with such an adversary after two posts of Ninjadodging, but it's unrealistic as well. No character can see every attack coming, and dodge every single one of them, possibly even counter-attacking.

Rhinohiding
This term is almost the same as Ninjadodging. It's where a character either takes all the attacks thrown at him (and not even be fazed, nor have any damage) or hides behind objects such as walls or cars to shield himself from all of it.

- In the past we have not allowed members to rule the world. But right now things will change. The new rules in regards to this is, you can rule the world but you must work up to this. This meaning months of arc and plot building leading to each logically planned out step to get your character to this position being performed and making every thread that you use to work towards this open so others can fight against you (threads that are big steps that you don't make open will be edited by staff to be open.) and told to the staff that this thread is meant for this task, even if it's a small one. You must fight off every person wanting to stop you or turn them to your side.

You must take every step in character and if you get to that level of world domination congratulations but just know that every thread you make upon doing this will be required to be open so anyone has the chance to take you down at any moment. If this is what you want to work towards and are willing to go through, go right ahead. But this is mandatory for you to do this. If you rule the world and go in active also be warned, the staff may in character have your character vanish or killed to restore order.

So in other words if you want to rule the world you must put in every ounce of your mind and power to do it like you would logically need to do in the real world and if you due take over the world in under 3-4 months staff will step in, it may seem like a long amount of time but once again logically taking over the world would take a VERY long time so you must really want it to even think you may reach this goal.

- On site you can die and you are not allowed to deny death by a random burst if power or anything. If you die in character though don't worry this is a super hero site after all. Super heroes die and come back all the time. So take this as an opportunity to add a curve to your character. Events may even show up to bring back dead characters. SO in other words, death is not the end for a character here, so don't panic if you do die in character,

-If you in character rp out abusing their powers that they may have gained in any way that makes absolute no sense to their character and is clearly done because you as the rper chose to do so you in character will see an npc join your thread closed or not and you will be nerfed and will have your powers cut based on your actions. Though you can work to get this back due to either good behavior and in character training, or by winning the powers back through other means.

-Many of you may know you are able to color thread titles, though we would like you to refrain from doing so. This way the staff can color threads based on what they are properly. If you continuously do so you will be asked to stop. If you continue we will have to punish you based on how you acted and what you did. If you want something colored that badly pm the staff about it first.

-Character reviewing is not something that should be overexerted. You only allowed to drop one character in a 2 month period from now on. If there is something major going on that you feel this needs to be looked past this once please pm the staff about it.

-Your character may be in as much threads as possible, but needs to know which one happened first. Messing up the chronological order would be quite sad.

-On site things can go past pg-13 but if it starts to get too  far into rated R / gruesome, or anything try to put in some form of warning before it gets that far in your post. Though if it get to where normally a movie cuts to black due to things getting into smut/erp/lemon/sex territory cut to black as well and if you want to rp it that badly put it in pms It isn't needed on the rp threads.

-Swearing is alright due to censoring, though if it is not your character talking try to be tasteful with it.

-Personal and or team arcs that may significantly change the city, state, country, or other such things must be ran by staff first. This way other members can be informed of the changes, and so that the thread can be open for them to attempt to change these fates of the city. THough your arc may be not allowed if it seems too outlandish especially if it doesn't logically fit with your team or character at all.

-Time travel i swallowed but it must always fit to these rules if they do not the thread will be moved to the au section and declared non canon.
* You can’t change the past: When traveling to the past you will instantly create an alternative time line that will not change nor affect the main sites time line in any way. WHen you travel back to the present you will be back in your own time line again, if you travel back to that same time again you will go back to a past that resembles your original past again and the process will repeat.
* The future isn't set in stone:  WHen you travel to the future you are already changing how your future of the current time will be just by seeing the what would have been future.
* It's not just your story: If you interact with the pasts or futures of anyone's;e’s time lines you must talk to them about the plots and what they think. If you do not your thread will be put into the au section and deemed non canon.
* Think about it: You must have a logical reason as to how and why you are able to travel through time. Either It be by magic or science just try to make it make sense within that realm of things. In other words. Don’t half ass it. Time travel should be an epic story not a half baked one.

6) Chatbox rules

The rules are short, simple, and easy to follow. So you really have no excuse for failing to do so.

- Don't harass other members. You may talk about generally whatever you want with the exceptions named, but if it becomes a problem and they tell you to stop, do so or continue it via pm. Obviously, flaming is also a no-no and if everyone in the CB is speaking on the subject, but you yourself are having issue with what's being discussed, please relocate yourself until the subject ends. We are not going to punish 14 people over 1 person's disposition, so it it's better if you just exit until the subject is done being discussed unless it's offensive and breaks site rules, then by all means report it.

- You can curse all you want on the chat box, but the moment you curse at a member to hurt them in any form or way you will be punished and this will not be a light punishment. This will be taken seriously even if you claim to be joking about it. If it hurts another joking does not matter you still at the end hurt them and thats whats important.

- A little flirting or whatever is fine, but cybering is a big, big problem. If we catch anyone  cybering in the cbox, BOTH parties will be punished based on what they’ve done. Take it to PM or do a scene skip, but NO DETAILS!

- Keep religious discussion to minimum or take it to PM. Sorry, we may have a whole lot of Christians, Muslims, Jewish, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Atheists etc on here and we all have our beliefs and practices and no one has any right to criticize them. Some people are more sensitive than others, so even if you say say something you don't deem offensive, it might be so to another person.

Now there is an exception when it comes to roleplay,if it ties in with your character, that is perfectly fine!

- Keep everything PG-13. You should all know what that means.

- The user of the account through which any of the above rules were violated, is at all times responsible of anything that occurs with his/her account. Hackers, little brothers, silly kittens, possessing Symbiotes, or mysterious glitches are not any excuse.

7) Rules on general behavior

Rules regarding interaction with other members:

- This is not a dating site for the members to hook up. Keep it to pm's if you're going to.

– Be polite. If you know others personally, they will understand all things you say, but on sites such as TTRPG, you meet a lot of strangers, and all you know about them is their preferred nicknames/account name. Don't be a jerk on your first trip to the Chatbox or any thread. In character is one thing, out of character is another.

– Do not harass other members. If members do not want to talk in the Chatbox, or do not feel like Pming, do not harass or flame them for this. Each member has his or her own life to attend to. Likewise, do not bury them in endless PM's when they do not reply within 24 hours on any PM or thread you posted in. However, if they are blowing you off don't feel any loyalty to them.

-After 4 days feel free to skip the user and if you stated they would be skipped at the beginning of the thread if they didn't respond within a certain time do it, by all means that's on them, but still try to be patient and lenient. If you need to skip them sooner and they arent replying to you pm the staff first to make sure the member isn’t in a bad situation at the time and needs the extra time. You can also check LOA just to be sure if you feel you need to. ( http://ttrpg.forumotion.com/f111-leave-of-absence )

– Discussions are alright in general, but do not start pointless discussions time and time again, and do not start these within threads that don’t have anything to do with them in the first place.. Take it to an appropriate place, such as the Chat Room sub-board. Basically, stay on subject, OCC & OT ruin the flow of rps and threads.

-This is not an Au rping site. Yes we have aus here but if you only rp in aus all the time for months on end without ever posting in the main rp at all you will be asked to do so. If you choose not to you will not be allowed to post in aus for a while. If the issue persists you will be asked to leave the site.

Rules regarding interactions with the Moderators and Administrators:

– The Moderators and Administrators have the right to point you at the Forumotion Terms of Service accepted when creating your account or any other ruling stated in this rulebook or elsewhere.

– If a Moderators sees any unjust action, he or she has the right to correct it even if the action was not yet spoken about in the rulebook. They will then proceed to contact the Administrator to add a rule correcting this.

– Moderators and Administrators have the right to edit any content on this site, including but not limited to any profiles, avatars, rules, and signatures.

– Unless clearly stated they allow this, no verdict made by a Moderator or Administrator may be up for discussion. If you really think a decision they made is unjust, PM the appropriate Moderator or Administrator and carefully explain why. If they feel your reasoning is valid, they will undo their decision. If not, then you can approach a higher up, but MAKE SURE your reasoning is valid. Basically, don't waste our time. However, most of the moderators are pretty decent individuals.

– The Moderators and Administrators at TTRPG strive to create a suitable environment for everyone to roleplay in. Respect their decisions, as sometimes, this means a little taking and giving. We want everyone to be satisfied, and have reasons behind everything we do. Moderators and Administrators however, will not voice those reasons every time it is asked for, especially not after they have already done it once or twice. We have no need to fully explain ourselves. Trust us! And keep an open mind. Please Always remember that the staff are just doing their jobs, if you do not like them enforcing the rules on you that's not on them. Im sure you wouldn’t want people coming into your work and yelling at you because you are doing your job. Staff are people too and we will not tolerate members harassing staff because they do not like being told to follow the rules.

– Misinterpretation of anything typed by a Moderator or Administrator is not their error, but those who misinterpreted the information unless a spelling/grammatical error occurred. Make sure to carefully read their posts.

– Decisions made by Moderators can only be revoked by a higher ranking staff member, or the Administrator. So do not try telling a moderator of the same standing if you do not get your way on something. (From lowest to highest the order is, Trainee Mods, Division 6, Moderators, General Moderators, and the Admin.)

Do keep in mind the Moderators and Administrators are here to help. Contrary to popular belief, they are human. You can ignore personal advices about your character, but every official command they give is to be followed. Don't worry, they're not too bad, they only bark if you behave and only bite if you don't. Talking to them in a formal manner will probably pay off more than the usual internet slang that appears everywhere. They are not paid, they are here to have fun just like you.

Respect is key here, if you show it to us, we will return it and then some.
