"Is it fun?"

Baby Doll

«««IDENTITY»»»

Full Name: Dorothy Kubrick
Nickname(s): Dot, Dolly
Codename: Baby Doll
Alias(es): Killer Toy, Doll Girl
Age: 12
Race: Altered Meta Human
Alignment: Evil

«««PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION»»»

Hair Color: White
Eye Color: Gray
Gender: Female
Height: 4'10"
Weight: 82 lbs
Other Traits:

«««SKILL SET»»»

Powers
-Doll Form - Dot can shrink to a size of about 5 inches tall, similar to the size of a doll. There are no other sizes in-between and she can only alternate between her normal form and doll form. The transformation occurs near instantly at will. Any clothes on her person can shrink with her as well as any object she is holding that is no heavier than herself.
Sub: Power Preservation - While in her doll form, Dot retains the same physical abilities as though she was in her original size. This applies to her strength, speed, durability and senses.
Sub: Unreadable - While in her doll form, Dot is immune to mental abilities such as telepathy. Her mind cannot be read or even detected by such powers. This also applies to powers akin to foresight and prediction. She can even freely lie in the face of a lie detector without triggering it at all.

-Enhanced Strength - Dot's small build and frame is deceptive as she possesses physical strength significantly above that of a regular human. She can lift up to 1 ton with ease and 3 tons when exerting her utmost effort. This strength also translates to impressive jumping power, enabling her to clear a distance of up to 20 meters in a single bound unaided. With her reduced weight, she can clear about 5 times this distance while in her doll form.
Sub: Enhanced Durability - Proportional to her strength, Dot can withstand a similar amount of force of up to 3 tons before sustaining any damage to her body.
Sub: Enhanced Endurance - Dot's remarkable physical abilities also include a resistance to fatigue. She can exert her full strength for about half a day before needing rest.

-Toy Box - A small cube of extra-dimensional origins that acknowledged Dot as its master. When attaching it to any object, said object becomes her "toy" that she can mentally control will. She typically uses this on machines. The toy will continue to function for as long as it still has moving parts even if its power source is cut off (i.e. electricity, fuel, etc). Any attempt to take control of the toy by anyone else will be met with a painful backlash and result in failure. (i.e. technopaths, hackers, etc). When not in use, the Box is stored within her body and will always return to her when they are apart.
-Sub: Overclock - Usually reserved as a last resort, the Box can force a toy to function at double of its effectiveness for 10 minutes (i.e. speed, power, etc). Afterwards the Box is forcefully ejected and the toy breaks apart. The Box then becomes unusable for an hour.
-Sub: Analysis - When she attaches the Box to an object, Dot instantly learns all there is to know about the toy's capabilities and functions.

Skills
*Expert Martial Artist - Dot is a proficient mixed martial artist who is easily on par with a special ops soldier and will win thanks to her enhanced physical abilities.
*Expert Marksman - Dot is proficient at handling most guns and rifles and is skilled enough to win a national-level tournament.
*Genius - Dot is well-learned in electronics and biology as they are useful in her jobs of breaking into places and taking out targets.
-Sneaking - Even without using her shrinking powers, Dot has some skill and experience in staying out of sight and moving around unnoticed.
-Acting - Dot has some skill in acting, particularly when pretending to be a lifeless and motionless doll while in her doll form.
-Contortionist - Dot trained her body to be more flexible than your average human to ensure she can withstand any rough play while in her doll form.
-Gymnast - Dot has some skill in gymnastics and a good sense of balance to help her navigate the big world more easily while in her doll form.
-Driving - Dot possess the know-how to drive almost any vehicle thanks to her Toy Box and its analysis capabilities.
-Gaming - Dot is a skilled gamer on her own merit.

Physical Weaknesses
-Lightweight - While Dot is relatively resilient to damage, she can easily get blown away by heavy hits, especially in her doll form unless she is able to grab on to something.
-Electricity - Dot has increased susceptibility to electricity while in her doll form due to her reduced size and can be put in critical condition from something on the level of a taser.
-Poison - Dot has increased susceptibility to poisons while in her doll form due to her reduced size as what would be negligible amounts to a regular sized person would be a potentially lethal dose to her.
-Magic - The Toy Box is unable to analyze and take over magical objects.
-Organic - The Toy Box is unable to analyze and take over organic objects.
-Limited Range - The Toy Box can only operate within 50 meters of Dot and will be forcefully ejected if the distance between her and the toy exceeds this.

Mental Weaknesses
-Apathetic - She easily loses interest in things she finds boring or in people who refuse to "play" with her.
-Stubborn - When she does find interest in something or decides on something, it is difficult to convince her otherwise.
-Sore loser - When someone gets the best of her, she takes it to heart and will surely attempt to get revenge for it.

Equipment
-9mm semiautomatic with a silencer
-Military-grade combat knife
-Grenades x2
-Smoke bomb x2
-Gas mask
-Night vision goggles
-Communicator

«««CEREBRAL PROFILE»»»

Personality
Dot could be considered capricious. She jumps at things she considers to be fun and will move on to the next thing once she has gotten bored. Her idea of fun can change drastically but generally things that tickle her mind are most likely to grab her attention. She has a childlike curiosity that can be taken advantage of but the hard part is keeping her attention. Her attitude is sometimes mistaken as being competitive and indeed contests are one of the things that have a high chance of drawing her interest. However she will easily get bored if her opponent does not prove to be a challenge or the competition was not as engaging as she expected.

Despite her fickleness and immaturity, Dot does have a good enough head on her shoulders to acknowledge that there are things she needs to do in order to survive in the world. This is what motivates her to do jobs. Though there is no guarantee her bad habits will not manifest themselves while she is working, she will more often than not see things through to the end if it means she can get something in return. The only exception is if she no longer sees any value in continuing. In that case it becomes very difficult to convince her otherwise.

She is not very good with people and doesn't talk much. More often than not she keeps to herself. This does not mean however that she is incapable of working in a team. She can work with others towards a common goal but don't count on her relying on another person. In anything that she does, the one she trusts the most is herself. In her eyes, anyone else contributing to her success is just a bonus.

«««PERSONAL BACKGROUND»»»

Family Members: None
Place of Origin: STAR Labs
History
Dorothy Kubrick was a test tube baby created and born in STAR Labs as part of a project sponsored by a powerful mob boss whose identity was never disclosed to her. While it was possible to accelerate her growth through science, the project insisted that she grow like a regular human to take advantage of the fast learning capabilities of a child. In their minds, experience was irreplaceable and traditional methods of training were favored over simply programming the skills directly into her brain. Still the program was harsh and unforgiving. Of a group of 20, no more than 5 survived the first few years in the program. Numerous enhancements and Spartan education took an unimaginable physical toll on the children resulting in their early passing as their bodies could not keep up.

The result however was largely a success. The few that survived were hailed as super soldiers of a new generation at the tender age of 10. The sponsors wasted no time in utilizing the children in their nefarious schemes. Each one was gifted with a different ability as a result of being created from the DNA of various meta humans in the STAR Labs DNA bank. The choice of DNA utilized was biased towards powers that aided in infiltration or outright destruction. This was further supplemented by various strength enhancements and serums so that all of them ended up superhuman. It was the incompatibility with these enhancements that resulted in the deaths of some of the children. Dot was one of those who benefited greatly from this as her natural ability was merely shrinking.

The missions they were given started out fairly simple, ranging from shakedowns and small time robberies to offing people whom few would miss anyway. After all what occurred in a test environment could never be an wholly accurate depiction of what the real world situation would be like. As the difficulty and gravity of the missions began to escalate, it became apparent that some of the children possessed less-than-desirable personality issues. For a couple of them, it could be fatally detrimental depending on the mission they were sent on. Dot was thankfully not one of those considered to be problems, but she too was marked for having not so ideal habits and was thus given less jobs to do than her "better" peers.

The worst outcome came to pass a little over a year after they were deployed. One of the problem children finally snapped and the mission went terribly awry. It was a rare job that all 5 children were participating in. Normally the 5 don't even interact with each other at all even back in the Labs. They knew of each other's existences but have only met a few times. There was never any real connection between them, or so their supervisors thought. It seemed at some point since they started to get sent out on missions, one of the problem children did manage to establish connections with some of the others which over time developed into closer relationships. The possibility of the children banding together to oppose orders became all too real. Dot was yet again spared from the misfortune of getting involved in all this and was the only one still on track with the mission while the rest had gone rogue due to the problem children's initiation.

The operation that marked the downfall of the project involved infiltrating a secret military facility that housed alien or extra-dimensional technology confiscated or archived from the many invasions and incidents caused by aliens. Most of these were deemed either too dangerous for use or outright unusable due lack of understanding or technological capability to make them work. The sponsors were after some of the more dangerous tech. While the command chain for the mission was focusing efforts to contain the rogue children, the ensuing chaos caused Dot to get lost in the facility. She ended up entering the area that stored unusable tech. It was there that she caught sight of a little cube floating in a pillar of light on one end of the room which drew her attention. Against all common sense, her natural curiosity caused her to reach out and grab it. As she held on to the cube, her mind was filled with all sorts of information, most of which she could not really comprehend. The experience seemed to go on forever, though when she finally snapped back into reality, only ten minutes had passed. Reeling from a slight headache, she understood two things from the ordeal: how to use the cube, which she would later dub as the "Toy Box", and the fact that for some reason the cube made her its master. It was around this time that she received communication that the mission had failed and she was ordered to return.

Dot was immediately restrained and questioned upon returning to the facility. It was then that she learned the losses that night could not be recovered from. Two children were killed in action while the other two escaped. While she repeatedly denied any knowledge or involvement in the events, it was only at the intervention of one of her supervisors that she was cleared from suspicion, citing that the place in the facility where she was held made connecting with the other children outright impossible. Unfortunately with only one child left active and the facility losing the faith of their sponsors, said sponsors decided to cut their losses and shut down the project right there.

Realizing that Dot might be terminated at the project's close, one of her supervisors who felt sorry for her secretly aided in her escape from the facility. She was provided a modest sum of money, papers, and a list of connections with other unsavory groups in the underworld. Given her talents and what she was raised to do, blending in and working in the underground of society was probably the most logical choice at the time. She has been working as a mercenary in the underworld ever since, eventually setting up her home base in Jump.

Toy Box - We just need a limit on the biggest machine she can make her toy, and we need to clarify that she can't control PCs with this even if they are machines.

I really like the concept of this character.

When a machine becomes her toy that she can control at will, what are the capabilities of this toy? If she attaches the Toy Box to a toaster, can she just control how well it toasts toast? Or does it start moving around and paddling people with hot iron pads?

If it is the second where it can move around and hurt people, does it still need electricity to keep its heat?

Can the Toy Box be broken? Is it indestructible?

On an unrelated note, if people don't kill people, guns kill people, then is it true that toasters don't toast toast, toast toasts toast?

If for some reason the toaster comes with wheels, then yes it can move around. The limit of a toy's capabilities are its inherent functions, and its movable parts. Otherwise yes all it would do is toast to whatever level of heat a toaster is capable of.

To give a non-electrical example, the box can be attached to a normal wheelchair and it can move around because it has wheels to do so. On the other hand attaching the box to a normal chair with no wheels does absolutely nothing cause it has no movable parts at all.

I forgot about writing the durability of the box but yes if it won't be a problem then it would unbreakable.

I think making it indestructible is fine, since it has good enough drawbacks. I'm just asking for clarification for other mods and members.

Another clarification, can the Toy Box be removed from an object by someone if they grab it or whack it or whatever?

Thanks for asking good questions. I keep forgetting some of my thoughts are just in my head and I didn't actually write it. Tbh the way I pictured it was that the box was absorbed into the object and isn't particularly sticking out. The only way to stop it really is to break the thing being possessed.
