Snake needs a break! (Emmz)

Zil'costa slithered down the streets in her newest outfit. She'd been assured that it was the height of fashion for the females of the planet. Of course that had been coming from a rather terrified salesman at the store who could only find that one outfit to fit the rather intimidating snake lady. Even though that was the case Zil'costa liked the outfit quite a lot already and wouldn't have minded it in the least. The Japanese school girl look fit her nicely in her opinion, mostly as the skirt helped emphasis the point that she was a female and still let her lower body slither around as it needed to.

The only problem now was that she needed to find a way to earn some of the local currency, and it was hard finding anyone who would hire her. She paused outside of a shop called 'Kitsune Comics' as she spotted some manga with covers of girls wearing the same outfit she was currently wearing. Better yet there was also a small 'Help Wanted' sign in the window. Zil'costa smiled and opened the door, lowering herself a bit to get through the doorway. She grabbed the sign from the window and slithered toward the counter where there was an interesting young lady with some distinctly non-human ears.

"Hello! Are you still looking to hire someone? I can start right away." Zil'costa said in a friendly manner, her tongue flicking out a moment as she smiled.

Nina would look up from her manga with pictures of adult guys doing adult things on the front, her eyes widening at what she saw before grinning "ah! Y-yeah sure! You really want to work here? I mean, it's mostly boring lifting stuff and stacking shelves and cleaning but, if you're sure I can pay you at the end of the day, we close at 5pm" she sorta just gave out the job specifics there and then, surprised to see someone so different in front of her, made a nice change from the boring time when most of the customers were at school or college.

"I'll take it! I can also work security if need be." Zil'costa said with a grin, happy to have found a paying job. She was literally out of the local currency, and finding a job had been proving quite difficult and she wasn't about to resort to stealing. She had her pride after all!

"My name's Zil'costa by the way. Sorry for not introducing myself first." Zil'costa let out a chuckle, her tongue flicking out once again. She seemed genuinely happy to have found a job, especially one that paid daily! That meant that she could get something good to eat tonight. There was so many variations in local cuisine that it was hard to make a choice, and everything she'd tried so far had proved to be absolutely delicious.

Nina nodded "Nina Vulpes, although you can call me Nina, everyone else does" she said "don't worry, I'm pretty chill usually" she said as she bent down under the counter and brought up a bunch of flyers advertising the store "since your outfit is so lovely, I'd like you to start off with handing these out for a few hours, if you run out just come back and I can think of something else for you to do" she said in a cheery manner, whether it was because she was just nice or didn't have that boss-worker boundary, it wasn't clear, probably both.

"Well that sounds easy enough." Zil'costa said as she accepted the flyers. Now that she had some instructions she gave a rather quick, but perfect, salute to Nina.

"I'll do my best Nina!" Zil'costa said with a grin, treating the assignment like it was another mission. She slithered toward the front door with the flyers in hand and then out onto the sidewalk. The Serpentor was surprisingly quick, so much so that it seemed to startle more than a few people she came upon outside. More than a few people were too frightened or confused to react much before she pressed an advertisement into their hands and then went after a new target.

Nina smiled at the salute, saluting her back "I know you will hun~" she said happily, while Zil'costa was gone she'd have a clone whip up some fresh treats for her hard worker on her first day 'I hope she's not allergic to anything' thought Nina, she'd make sure to ask before she gave her any, making a batch of white chocolate cookies for her only employee on her first day.

Everyone Zil'costa approached was too stunned to refuse her pressing a flyer into their hands, and the rest were too confused and simply nodded as they accepted the paper. Zil'costa didn't seem to mind, after all her mission was to distribute every single one of their flyers for her new employer. To her it was just a bit of mercenary work on the side until she could contact her homeworld.

After about an hour Zil'costa slithered back in through the front door.

"Mission accomplished Nina!" Zil'costa announced proudly as she approached the counter.

Nina would grin "in record time Zil'costa!" she said happily, the clone would come down with the plate of cookies "I made some cookies while you were out, you're not allergic to anything right?" she asked with a little concern.

If Zil'costa wasn't allergic to anything then she'd just tell her of her next assignment "alright so your next job is refilling the shelves" she said as she stood up and dragged a big box of merchandise in front of the counter "basically, just put more of the stuff that's already there up" she said. The box included anime, manga, some trading card packs and the fun looking Japanese snacks.

"Allergic? Ha! Not likely! My kind are impervious to poison, which just happens to also make it so we don't suffer from any allergic reactions either." Zil'costa said with a hissing laugh before swiping herself a cookie from the plate. She bit into it and made a strange squeak.

"Oh wow! These are tasty little tidbits right here! Your sister sure can cook." Zil'costa said, mistaking the magical duplicate as Nina's sister.

As she finished up the cookie she nodded at the instructions given her but paused a moment.

"Sounds easy enough. Just restocking the supplies right? But aren't you gonna introduce me to your sister first? I mean she made snacks for us."

Nina chuckled as the clone poofed out of existence "she's not my sister, she's a clone I created, so I could stay down here while she made them, it's a lot of complicated magic stuff, but basically they're me but just a duplicate" she explained as she also ate a cookie happily "and yeah, just restocking the shelves" she said.

Zil'costa's eyes widened a bit as the clone simply poofed from existence. She listened to what Nina had to say and nodded her head.

"That's an interesting trick. So, I'm guessing you're not human then? I just thought you had really cute ears for a human, but you're not one of them eh? Are you an offworlder too then?" Zil'costa asked as she slithered closer to Nina and put an arm around her shoulders, like she was some sort of co-conspirator or long time war buddy.

Nina giggled and shook her head "nah I'm native to Earth, just one of the old creatures, I'm a kitsune, a Japanese fox spirit" she explained "we're kinda a secret to most but people here seem to love me so I'm not going to hide, especially not from my adoring fans" she said proudly.

"Well that's an oddity to be sure! I didn't know there were more than one sentient race native to this world. Still I can see why you have fans. Those ears are simply adorable, and those tails too! Even cuter than humans with their silly little tuft of head fur." Zil'costa said in a friendly manner, rubbing Nina's hair as she spoke.

"I swear just when I think the inhabitants here can't get any cuter I find someone who is!" Zil'costa let out a happy giggle and rubbed Nina's hair some more, ruffling it thoroughly before letting go. After getting that out of her system she scooped up the large box of merchandise with ease and slithered off to complete her task.

"I bet this planet will be even more fun now that I'll actually have a bit of spending money to use. It was a real bummer to find out that humans didn't accept standard galactic credits! I was about to have to start scavenging for food since my rations just ran out this morning, and that would have been embarrassing." Zil'costa said, being quite chatty as she stocked the shelves. Thanks to her body she was able to simply stretch herself a bit to reach even the highest shelves with ease. The Serpentor lady seemed quite at ease as she placed manga, toys, and other items on the shelves to create a rather nice display.

Nina would purr happily as Zil'costa pet her "mmmmm...I appreciate the compliment" she said happily as she closed her eyes, enjoying the petting and not minding that her hair got a little messy after, she just flattened it a little when Zil stopped "yeah, well if you ever need to save money or find a place to stay you can always stay here, I have a guest room and I love to cook" she said with a content smile.

Zil'costa's hood flared out a bit as Nina offered her a place to stay and mentioned that she also cooked.

"Oh really? I'll gladly take you up on that offer! The warehouse I've been keeping my ship in is rather lacking in... well everything other than storage space really. Plus my ship is stuck on emergency back up power at the moment so I can't really use it for much other than bathing and sleeping." Zil'costa said, instantly taking up Nina on the offer.

"I mean, it won't be an inconvenience for you will it? I do take up a bit more room than the average human after all." Zil'costa mentioned, gesturing toward her long body and how she needed to either stretch it down an aisle or coil herself up to avoid taking up too much space.
