Powers:Enhanced strength: Vanessa's strength is stronger then most people, but not overly asinine to be considered truly super. Her maximum lifting strength is 500 pounds, so don't expect her punches to feel like girly slaps.
Pain threshold: Due to all the bumps and bruises she's taken from her Kenshin-ryu training she has gained a heightened pain threshold and while it's nothing spectacular she won't freak out if someone were to cut her with a knife, or knock her across the street. The latter however, would still seriously kick her to the curb.
Enhanced durability: Vanessa possesses a denser muscle and bone structure then most humans and metahumans, allowing her to survive punishing and oftentimes fatal first blows.

Personality:Rough, unpolished, gritty. These are the words used to define Vanessa. Much like a piece of granite, she is rough around the edges, blunt and tactless. But a good heart lies under the rough exterior of this women turned street tough. She knows how to look out for one of her own, and will always repay a debt no matter how long it may take. Never one to back down from a threat, Vanessa will meet the challenge head on, no matter the severity. It's this drive to succeed that gives her a never give up attitude and her will to protect those she values the most, that makes her such an unpredictable force in a fight.
===PERSONAL BACKGROUND===
Family: Kuroda Michiyo - Adoptive father; 45 years old

History:Vanessa wasn't a normal girl like you or I. She was special, a manufactured human grown in a lab. She had no father or mother like you or I, she was just another creation, another test that someone wanted to make into the perfect human weapon. No emotions, no remorse, just a pure killing machine. It was probably six or seven years into her growth when a group, led by one Kuroda Michiyo, attacked the complex intent on stealing the secrets contained within he wasn't doing it for the good of mankind. You see, he worked for the local yakuza and they wanted the techniques and secrets these men and women were using, to create these weaponized humans.
But what these men saw was simply appalling, inhumane even for them hardened mobsters and instead of unleashing these secrets upon the world, they destroyed them and killed the scientists. But Kuroda, after taking one look at this poor girl took pity on her and with what little remorse he had for the girl, took her with him. The only secret to ever escape that facility alive. He pleaded and begged with the others to keep her a secret from the rest of the family. Begrudgingly, they agreed to keep her a secret from the rest of the bosses if only out of fear for the atrocities they could commit with this template for a biological weapon.
Vanessa was like a zombie; and for the first few years of her life outside those white walls and experiments, Kuroda spent his free time playing with her; teaching her the finer things about life, trying to put a little life into her. She followed him around and her curiosity, knew absolutely no bounds. It took him an entire six years, to get her up on her feet and full of the joys of life that she never knew when she was trapped within that place of test tubes and science. Not wanting her to be left without some kind of a defense mechanism, should she ever set off on her own. He taught her Kenshin-ryu, a particular style of Okinawa Kobudo he mastered in his early thirties.
The training was brutal, tough and intense. Kuroda believed entirely in full contact training and spared no quarter in teaching her. By the end of each day of training, she was covered in bruises and in a way, he was rubbing off on her personality wise with each practice session. Before long, it was like looking at a younger, female version of Kuroda. She had that exact same gritty rough around the edges outlook on life but, she also had a warmer softer side to her. You could almost say that he had groomed her to be like him in many ways.
Her eighteenth birthday rolled around and as his parting gift to her, he gave her his tonfa's a pair of spectacularly made weapons utilizing modern technology to give them strength, stability and most importantly, durability. Mostly because she'd probably break a wooden tonfa on the first strike. No tears where shed, and no goodbyes were given as Vanessa set off into the world, with naught on her mind, beyond living her own way. She was free, she knew it and with that in mind, she felt like she could do anything she wanted. Which well, she had no clue what she wanted really, so with her own freedom she felt like doing something. Interesting.
