PostSubject: A decision in need of a second opinion.    Wed Feb 24, 2016 2:26 am

So I'm very close to submitting my character for review but came across a decision I'm struggling to make.

I gave my character enhanced durability in which he can take extensive levels of damage before collapsing to the effects. But, that doesn't mean he's invincible. He's still vulnerable to harm, just tough.

To be specific on how tough, I described the common damage types in some detail of what types of body tissue is resistive to what damage and the weakness to it.

My dilemma is that I want to give my character an enhanced healing ability as well. It won't be perfect, it'll have it's disadvantages. But, it'll give him a chance to recover from inevitable wounds sustained during his adventures that would otherwise kill instantly.

The idea was to keep the need for self preservation and avoid god-modding, but not get instantly taken out in one hit either and if injury takes place. Give my character a chance to recover from it. A way to give both abilities a place and purpose. So, is it considering god-modding when a character has both enhanced durability and a enhanced healing ability?

It all depends on the numbers. If you lower your durability and have a weakened healing factor, I could see it working. The only problem I have is if there wasn't any counterplay to it. I get that you'd want to be able to take a lot of damage and be okay, but there's always gotta be a practical way around it. Elsewise its no fun to be against.

I'll have to agree with Bloo on this, you can have a durability and a healing factor, but you'll need to balance it out with strong weaknesses. My suggestion would be to use the new character application which has two different set of weaknesses which are physical and mental.
In the end, I'll have to see it all out to give my full opinion.
