So while we will be doing this thread at some point, we aren't exactly sure if we're doing it NOW. However, we'd like to know exactly what god we'll be dealing with so myself or Kyte or whoever can make the character sheet for them. Before you vote however I, as your local mythology nut, shall relay you some information on each so that you can make an informed decision. Ya know, if you're into that sort of thing.

Set
The God of The Desert

Set is best described as a defender, falling from grace. Initially, Set was incredibly respected by his followers, his fellow gods, and his enemies. He was a glorious defender, standing alongside Ra against the forces of darkness and chaos. As time went by however, the times changed.

Unfortunately for Set, defending the world against chaos was, essentially, the only role he had in all of mythology for the longest time. When the Egyptians went to war, they desperately wanted something to blame their misfortunes upon, and that role fell to Set. Angered by their betrayal, Set stood to challenge his brother, Osiris, for the throne. The following quarrel was short, but bloody, ending in the absolute mutilation and murder of Osiris.

Now missing his throne, his followers, and his power, Set descends upon the mortal world to reclaim that which is his own, and bury the world in a brutal desert.

"The cycle of life and death continues. I will live. You will die."

Spoiler:

Ah Puch
The Mayan God of the Undead

Often depicted as a rotting corpse coated in burns and wounds, covering his face with the head of a dead Jaguar, Ah Puch is a malevolent spirit who feasts upon the corpses of the recently deceased to fuel his constantly growing power. Accompanied wherever he goes by decaying dogs, birds of prey or jungle cats, Ah Puch is often referred to as "The Lord of the Ninth Hell" or "The Destroyer of Worlds." It is said that he shall arrive when the world meets its end. Ah Puch is death. Not just for mortals, but for all life.

With 2012 having come and gone, Ah Puch is understandably a bit upset. He's overslept, missing the end of the world as depicted by his superiors. He was meant to become the strongest! Stronger than any one of them! And they didn't wake him. Not out of kindness to the mortals, but out of fear of the mighty Ah Puch! With his armies of the undead and his loyal servants, he will stop at nothing to end the world of the mortals. To feast on their delicious flesh. As he understands it, metahumans are the tastiest of all...

"Delicious little mortals...You know I come, but you are never prepared."

I think it would be a good idea to deal with both at some point. I personally like the idea of Ah Puch, but I could totally see us dealing with Set too afterwards at some point.

Set would be pretty interesting though. If I could find some way to get Kyte involved, Set might notice that Kyte impersonated Set for a great many years.

Right. Set will be fun too, since it looks like that's the one that's winning :3

At the same time, when you look at these gods you need to pick what scenario you're playing.

Set wants control and order with an iron fist. He wants a desert of people. That's relatively straightforward and classic badguy-ish.

Ah Puch is LITERALLY the end of the world. He's bringing hell with him. It's just a question of what scenario you guys want.
