Full Name: Jasmine Delacroix
Nickname(s): Jazzy, "Long Tom"
Codename: Ordnance № 1
Alias(es): Devastator, Sergeant Delacroix
Age: 21
Classification: Enhanced Alien/Human Hybrid
Affiliation: Neutral Good
===PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION===
Hair Color: Black w/ Red Streak
Eye Color: Blue
Gender Female
Height: 5'3"
Weight: 117 lbs
Other Traits: Her eyes and hair tend to change color (to bright red) and glow when using her power.
===POWERS===
Powers:-Energy Cannon: Jazzy's unique form of energy manipulation. She is capable of charging blasts with devastating power, but doing so takes up several minutes (upwards of two posts, depending on the power of the shot.) Five posts would be her maximum output when it comes to charging time, and she has enough energy to do three full powered shots.
Her weakest shot would be roughly equivalent to being hit in the chest with a shotgun round at point blank range.Certainly enough to destabilize a Kevlar sheet with one impact. An intermediate shot, around 3-4 posts' time spent charging, will yield a beam capable of throwing a train off course, if it were to be hit at any point along its length. And a fully charged shot would be equivalent to being
hit by a freight train. The way Jazzy's shots work is, they have the largest diameter closer to her, and the beams begin to dissipate after about fifteen to twenty feet, disappearing completely around forty-five feet.
Jasmine needs to be in a
STATIONARY position to fire her cannon. She can be standing, kneeling, even laying prone, but moving too much will cause her to lose focus and charge. The only movement she can make is inch-by-inch adjustments of her aim. Much like a real cannon, it takes careful adjustment for proper firing.
-Conscious Energetic Healing Factor: Jazzy can use her energy in only one other way, and that is to direct it towards the healing of her wounds. It can also be used to heal the wounds of others, at the same energy cost. It takes up only about a fifth of the power needed for her weakest shot to heal any non-fatal wound, but more damaging wounds take exponentially more energy to heal. Cuts, scratches, gashes, take the latter percentage of energy to heal; however, things like bone fractures, internal organ damage, substantial epidermal damage and the like, need more, at least three fifths the power of her weakest shot, if not more. Regenerating a lost limb could take the full power of a more intermediately charged cannon shot, if not more. Of course, she cannot break focus when healing herself or someone else.
Skills:-Accuracy training
-Police training
- Law enforcement procedure
- Tactical training
- Weapons handling (limited firearm training and melee weapons training)
- Emergency vehicle operation
-Skilled boxer
Weaknesses:-Mortality: Like most humans, Jazzy is very susceptible to harm of any kind. Stabbing, shooting, or even punching her will most certainly do damage. She's not all that hard to hit, either.
-Charging Up: As charging up takes time, and № 1 needs to be completely still to fire a beam, she is
COMPLETELY vulnerable whenever she is taking a shot. Open to attacks of any sort.
-Fatigue: Since she uses a lot of power in a fight, it's very easy for her to become exhausted.
Equipment:-Police badge
-Standard issue handgun
-
Car: Unlike quite a few other superhumans in the city, Jasmine has no powered means of locomotion through Jump. As such, she has been outfitted with a powerful beast of a car, the Equus Bass 770, an American-made muscle car with a max speed of 200 mph, and a very impressive 3.4 second jump from 0-60 mph. Jasmine's custom model of the vehicle is made of a stronger, yet equally weighted material that protects her more effectively from threats caused by other supers. However, this is only when she's inside it, of course. Using her powers inside the vehicle would obliterate it, so naturally she can't use it as a safe firing position. The car would likely be able to take fifteen tons of force from any point on its frame, with the bullet-proof glass able to take significantly less (about five to eight tons, depending on how widely across its surface the force is applied). It is also, of course, painted in standard police colors and equipped with sirens, as well as other necessary equipment, such as an onboard computer with JCPD's database linked up with its network.
===PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE===
Personality:Jasmine tends to be clear-cut about rules and regulations, and also seems to be prone to fits of anger and aggression. She is still young, of course, so despite her strict personality and professional training, she does succumb to emotions quite often. The biggest specter over the girl is stress, and coupled with it is low self-esteem. She's been hit especially hard with anti-super sentiments, because her power is simply very destructive. This was especially the case after her power first developed, when she lacked sufficient control; now, the hate has changed her into a colder, less trusting individual. She wants supers and normals to someday properly coexist, but she herself knows the rift is far too wide to cross. Another thing that gets to her is how she is forced to take flak from two parties; from her fellow policemen for being one of those "super-freaks", and from other supers for siding with "unreliable, powerless" police officers.
Strengths:-Mediation: One of Jazzy's most prevalent strengths is her ability to grab attention. She doesn't always negotiate with words, instead proposing herself as a more immediate threat in a firefight. By drawing attention onto herself, she hopes to bring conflicts to a close with one show of power. Of course, if she needs to fight, she can as well.
-Glass Cannon: A strength and a weakness, Jazzy's immense attack and poor defense make her an ideal "glass cannon" archetype. Meaning that she's extremely dangerous, while also extremely easy to beat, if she doesn't get to you first.
Interests/Habits:-Baseball enthusiast
-Very fitness-oriented
===PERSONAL BACKGROUND===
Family Members: Haz'mund (Father, location unknown) Georgia Samuels (Mother, deceased), Diana Delecroix (Foster mother, deceased)
Place of Origin: Unknown; non-Terrestrial location
History: Yeah, Jazzy's dad was an alien. One of the Siphis, a near-human race from a planet called Astelias. Her father came to Earth, a fugitive of the law back home, but he didn't much care for the humans. Except for one, that is. Georgia Samuels caught his eye immediately, for she was far more beautiful than anyone he had seen before. It was difficult to communicate with her, because he didn't know any human languages, but their connection was prevalent nonetheless. After learning more about her and learning how to communicate with her, he was able to share who he was with her- and to ask her to come with him when he left the Earth behind. The girl was hesitant, only eighteen at the time after all, but her home had little to offer to her. So she agreed, and the two eloped to some distant planet. There they were happy.
It wasn't long after their marriage that Georgia was expectant, but as her term came to a close, a large problem arose. The solar system they lived in was going to be obliterated, by a massive solar flare. Haz'mund had sold his ship to provide for his new family, and they had no spare money to get off-world...if they wanted to leave, they had to claw someone down to get there. It was going to be too late for himself, his wife, and their newly born daughter...but there was an option. A skilled engineer, Haz'mund had just enough time to refit a cargo pod for his daughter, that would carry her back to Georgia's world of Earth. It was a dire option for an even more dire situation, but if he could save at least one of his family, it would have to be her. And so the little girl was saved, and went hurtling towards the blue globe. Never to know of her parents' sacrifice...
The girl landed safely in California, in the United States. She was found by a gentle woman by the name of Diana, who though very shocked by the appearance of the alien girl, saw she was a helpless baby who needed to be saved. So she adopted the girl as her own, naming her Jasmine after her own mother. She raised the girl to be just and fair, but since a young age Jazzy had anger issues, and had a lot of trouble stifling her emotions. As she grew older, these emotions embarrassed her and she sought a method of control; and in order, she saw control. She looked up to police officers and superheros alike, because they both wanted the same thing; order, and peace. Not having developed any abilities, the young girl began studying, at age twelve, to join law enforcement. She trained herself, learned all kinds of techniques, so that when it came time to try the police academy, she was already prepared. She passed the test with flying colors, becoming one of the youngest people ever to do so.
Sergeant Delacroix was considered a prodigy, but even her extreme ingenuity was no match for threats of a more super variety. She could only watch helplessly as her fellow officers were ripped to shreds by metahumans, either by villains carrying out their evil plots or even being caught in the crossfire of superhuman battles. Without more extreme equipment, the normal police just couldn't handle the supers. This began to make Jasmine detest supers of all kinds...that is, until she became one herself.
It seemed to well up from inside her. The emotions and the rage, seemed to become tangible and she let it all loose. What she let loose changed things forever, as she became one of those supers with devastating powers, one that could tear holes through buildings easily. Instead of cutting her from the force, however, the big wigs decided to see how this would play out...
Sample rp:Loud explosions and crashes could be heard as the two unknowns rampaged through the city. Undoubtedly adversaries, but who was on which side of the black and white coin, no one could say. The overly powerful beings tore through everything without regard, only because it served as an advantage over the other. Fires had sprung up all around, and people on the rubble-and-dust covered streets were crying out as they cradled their dead and obliterated loved ones in their arms. Some only had ashes to hold onto.
The police could do nothing. Guns did nothing. Not even heavy ordnance could attempt to break up the fight between the two god-like men. Several supers had even tried to stop the fight, only to be smacked dead like flies. A young woman garbed in blue could only watch as two of her own deputies were killed before her, leaving only a crater filled with ash, and not even a scream could reach her in time. She sat on her knees, staring at the loss before her, and she felt so helpless. She wanted the power to help, but had none. She leaned back, exhaustion stealing her stance from her and placing her on her knees.
Suddenly, the fight was before the policewoman yet again. The two titanic figures were clasped against one another, a power struggle that literally shook the ground just with the magnitude of their strength. The girl was blasted backwards just at their appearance, and she landed awkwardly, hard on her shoulder. It didn't seem like anything was broken, but the wind was knocked right out of her lungs. She sat up slowly, very slowly, as she felt blood trickle from her lip. She managed to stand, watching the two supers fighting, listening to the screams, the bloodshed, the death that was all around her. She just wanted an end to the madness.
The woman raised a hand towards the two, and shouted at them. "P-please, just...stop fighting! Everyone is...getting hurt!" she hardly managed to choke out, it was so hard to breathe. One of the figures noticed her, and more than listening to her, he decided she would pay for interrupting the battle. In instants he would be upon her. The woman froze, knowing she would die in moments. Everything flashed before her, all of the pain was there, and she just couldn't keep it inside any longer. Something broke. Instead of dying, as she'd thought, a light appeared. Red in color, it encircled her outstretched hand, forming into a small sphere just past her palm. The thing exploded, sending forth a beam of devastating power, which completely broke the two fighting figures, sending them flying and crashing into buildings a mile away. The beam was so powerful, it shattered glass all around the woman, even caused cracks to form in the concrete around her feet. She felt like her entire body was jolted, and it felt like her arm had broken. The beam was gone as immediately as it had come, and Jasmine Delacroix fell to her knees as a nearby skyscraper began to topple.
