I spit these bars feircely/and observe the effect curiously
And wonder if these words reflect me/or the man I want to be
They push, they force themselves through my teeth/with enough force to make an impact no matter how brief
Maybe if I say enough feiry words I'll burn away the corruption/So, here I go, as my ancestors before me, with gusto and gumption.
Here's hoping I don't drown in myself/here's hoping I don't be blinded by the glittering wealth
With soulful thought/ I'll fight till bones break and I'm outfought.

Alright, time to make my contribution to this hopefully soon to be long list. I will have many contributions in the future, I can assure you.

Unrequited Nightmare

I felt like I was on fire
I couldn't get any higher.
As the smoke choked at my lungs
I was getting too close to the sun.

But I was too consumed inside
By the darkness that wouldn't hide
From the light out in front of me
I saw a clear path ahead of me.

Mind ablaze by those thoughts
I felt that this was fate
That it wasn't all for naught.
But suddenly I was there
And I couldn't help but stop and stare
At the pain you've been through
Suddenly I felt the struggle too.

And my eyes were open wide
To my ignorance inside
That this inferno was burning hot
A scarring purge that would leave a mark.

Lord please end her nightmares
As I was being sheltered once again and
Even i'm not safe from sin and
Lord please end her nightmares
I thought that I was flying but I was really falling.

Woke up in the night
3 AM to be exact.
I couldn't help but feel it, this
Monumental heart attack.
Her inner demons closing in and
Even I'm not safe from sin.
My world turned on its head when
I'm not even sure if I'm sick there.

Oh please end those nightmares
Even I'm not safe from sin and
Oh please end those nightmares
I can't do this alone
The high has crashed me to the stones.

The ashes of my soul fading away
The fire a distant memory today.
A new spark is igniting within.
Today He has saved me from sin.

OK, I only have one issue.........STOP BEING SO GOOD! You're making me look bad, lol.^^ Joking aside,this is good^^ And,being but a humble scribbler, I see no problems. I look toward to your later posts^^

Muse of the Deep Thinker.

Thunder claps within my head
I'll always see the souls of the dead
But torment me
Torture me not
I have a purpose
That is not all for naught.

The verses manifest day by day
But night is when their souls get
Thrown away
And if the tapestry of tribulation
Is weaved through these words
I apologize for being a host of sorrow
Malevolence to worldly lords.

These words appear to me ever quicker
Verbal visions grow ever thicker
There are signs around me
Regardless of whether you care
I must attempt to witness them
Get rid of the glare.

Internalize the knowledge
Witness the wisdom
The why is the truth
The what is the distraction.
Amend this abomination
This immoral refraction.

Let me tell you the story/of a man who worked hard for his family.
Outside of society/he wrote and told jokes to add variety.
Grinning wider than a jester/he never felt better.
But the father/felt this to be a hassle, a bother.
He said"pick up the shovel my son/don't you stop till your done".
And so the boy worked hard till he was able to quit it/ and came back to where he was accepted
They tell me I have to be either the man or the boy as fits them/I ask,"Why can't I be both?"

There is a lot of meaning in those words, HB. I can tell. Okay, time for my next contribution. Remember, reading, review and constructive criticism are always appreciated. ^^

Ode to Saviours

No rest
For those who battle the wicked.
We offer our lives
To the hollow and sick and
We cut ties
With our loved ones that follow
To shelter their souls
From the evil and sorrow.

Weary souls
Come forth now, be brave!
From the valley of shadows
We offer up the name.
No need to hide your demons
When they have no place to stay.
No need to lay in your grave,
We'll pull you out
Unashamed.

This consuming fire
Burning inside
You cannot contain
This shadow you hide.

This shadow suffocating
Threatening the peace
But this fire is unquenchable
It shall rage without ceasing.

Ah... as much as I hate double posting, I have a few poems I have written in my Writer's Craft class at school that I would like to share with you all. For the most part they are short, but many. ^^

Free Verse:

Sleep

Laying here
In my bed
Trapped in gentle slumber

Descending further into
Unconsciousness
My mind is my sole companion

In dreams and
Nightmares
Thoughts manifest here
They were fearful of the day.
Wrapped in soft pillows
And blankets
Here
In the dead of night
Drowsy solace remains.

There is omniscient majesty
Only few can understand.
Our sentient souls
Attempt visceral reasoning

Illustrious grovelling
Is instead the result
Crawling from decrepit repugnance.
Find the profound
Within the macabre
Of the opaque shattering.

The Mortal Instruments

Clary, in the world of New York City
Pulled into the Pandemonious Fray
Meetings with Shadowhunters-
Odd markings, angelic warriors.
Attacked by demons
A vanishing mother
A secret hero.

Hidden power
Demonslayer
Newfound destiny.
Magically induced
Half-demons, half allies.
True evil
A rogue father
Justice betrays insane suspicion.
Stolen instruments
Tracking father
Only chance to save the mother.


Haiku
Really short, rhythmic poems. The style is Japanese in origin.

This is life.
Our future draws near.
Fate hungers.

Bones cracking/flesh slacking
It feels like these expectations on my back are going to crush me/and that if in the end of this if I look into the mirror I'm not going to like what I see
Yeah, I'm not going to enjoy what I'll be/ and so I keep wishing I was free of this family.
I keep writing, keep scribing/ Do my best to keep my soul climbing
And this so called heart just goes on"Dundumdum"/ Yeah, call me 'dumbdumb"
How am I supposed to see my future if I can't see my past/Why do you cause me sadness but expect me to laugh?
Yeah, my flame keeps flickering/and they think I don't hear the snickering.
But I was raised to carry on/act like nothing was wrong.
So,see? I'm grinning/ my gears are still spinning.
Theyre positively rust free/ Please, trust me.
