| The airport was currently under attack, so those needing to leave the city in a hurry were huddled onto the Jump City Bay bridge in bumper to bumper traffic to exit this warzone before it was too late. Little did these pedestrians know, they should have been watching the skies this day rather than their backs. From up above the objects must have seemed like a flock of birds and then small meteors until it was finally realized that these falling objects were not bombs, birds, Superman or anything of the sort. They were pods - large metal black pods with sharp impact points - upon touching down on the bridge they crushed cars along with passengers causing people to exit their vehicles and run backwards the city. However more also landed behind the fleeing crowd cutting them off from any salvation. Out of the pods exited androids, similar in style to a skinless terminator robots. The machines all sported gatling guns on one arm and a large metallic spike knuckled fist on the other and unloaded on the pedestrians who didn't take cover. There was nearly forty eight or more on the bridge and their job was to hold the area while a certain hot-headed meta-human went to work on the bridge. - Spoiler:
The cables supporting the structure were thick, but when Hotspot exited a pod after halo dropping onto the bridge and ignited his arms within a minute he was able to melt/cut through one of the wires, causing it to collapse onto the bridge and flatten even more vehicles and a few droids as well. One cable down, soon they would all fall and he would move to the beams themselves and finally the foundation.

| "Are you kidding me?"
Bio was watching what was unfolding on the bridge from his smart phone. This was the third time he had witnessed an attack on the dang thing and he was tired of it. It was a good thing he hung around the more desolate parts of the city. He was skating towards the bridge with a breakfast burrito in his mouth and a Styrofoam coffee cup, people just watching as the armored hero speed skated past them while they were stuck in traffic. As he passed a cafe, he nabbed a fold up chair from outside seating. He then looked around for a truck.
"Yo, are you heading for the bay bridge?"
he said to the driver.
"I was until it got attacked..."
After negotiating, Bio got a ride in the passenger seat up to the beginning of the bridge halfway between the toll booth and where the action was happening. While eating the last of his burrito, Bio sat down in the chair and then looked at a picture of one of the best shots of the world, Speedy, and focused hard gaining a portion of the protege's talent using his power. He then fired long range gas shots into the rushing crowd marauded by robots for healing, and then fired at the meta attacking. He then fired shock mist a few feet underneath where Hotspot was working. He wasn't sure if the gas would work on him but it was worth a shot. Exhausting the meta would get him to come at Bio and distract him from destroying the bridge.
"This is Bioshock, power down and leave that bridge alone! I don't know why you're doing this, Hotshot, but we can talk this out and no one has to get hurt."

It was late afternoon, and Flux was regretting not getting plenty of sleep. She'd gotten a grand total of three this morning before things went to hell, and it wasn't like she'd even really been able to lend much of a hand so far. That changed now - oh yes. The acceleration of the T-ship jammed her into her seat, the G-forces pressing her savagely as she gripped the release lever. She hadn't packed a parachute - the blue heroine hadn't thought she'd need one, and she was dead right. Even so, it was... nerve racking. She was about to jump out of a JET PLANE going high on the burn without a parachute. WHY she was doing it was considerably less terrifying.
But there she was. They'd done the math, they'd beaten the moths out of the mantle, and it was time to dismantle some Russian meta-weapons. But WHO she would face... had surprised her. She'd spent the duration of the flight boning up on the man: Hotspot. Studying him, his known moves, it was like a crash-course in thermodynamic warfare. He could get hot enough to melt steel like bee's wax, fling bolts of the stuff, and in put up with a hell of a lot. And, it got better and better, he'd faced someone with powers similar to her own.
T-Minus 10 seconds.
Flux checked her equipment, the little of it there was. Injector, Cartridges, her hacked Communicator, the Prayer Beads about her neck (which she fingered absently), and a first aid kit Hotwire had put together for her specifically, all were good to go.
T-minus 5 seconds.
"You ready, Meta? Let's do this thing!" she said, a bounce in her voice, excitement bubbling away in her heart. She was so ready, it freaking hurt!
"Three!" Flux barked, and gripped the handle. It would be power assisted - she'd just need to open it, push, and jump. Air friction and aerodynamics would take care of all the rest. The plan... was insane, but at least they'd have the element of surprise.
"Two! One! LETS GO!" she cried, pulled the lever, pushed the hatch open with a roar of rushing air and screaming servos, and leapt. One second she was in the cabin - the next, she simply was not - she was propelled out of her chair bodily by wind friction, torn out violently.
It took her maybe a second to lose most of her speed and get back under control, and by then she was already unfurling herself, her blue body unraveling, billowing out into... wings, a delta shape, and her arms reached out to twine around her single passenger's body to hold him steady as they made their hot-drop at Hotspot! She couldn't see his current challenger... she could just see the glowing cable as it fell and pancaked another car. Flux fought off mental imagery of her parents in that car... grit her teeth, and fought the urge to scream in rage, keeping deadly silent as she brought them down at the hero with a reckless speed no human would survive. The sound of the fire, of the roaring Gatling guns, it would easily conceal the sound of their approach.
Happily, neither of them were humans. She wasn't trying to miss him or scare the man - she was aiming to HIT Hotspot. She didn't care if he dodged it. She would move with the impact like a tidal wave, absorbing just enough of it to keep Metamorphi from being injured, and use it to propel her wrath at Hotspot, her eyes blazing white from the only vaguely feminine mass of lashing tentacles and hammering fists, all bent on ruining Hotspot's day. She wasn't an attack pattern - she was a sudden, screaming storm of wrath aimed directly at his throat.

| Meta had been woken up to the news that the Russians were attacking, within minutes he was in the T-jet with Flux, riding into battle. For now it was just him and Flux, but hopefully they would be all that's needed, heaven help them if those two powerhouses were not enough.
Flux had not been the only one researching their opponent, Hotshot was an ex-honorary Titan who could surround himself in flames and manipulate those flames, he could burn through steel, as he was currently demonstrating so well on the bridge, Meta was prepared to take him on if he could.
They prepared to jump out of the jet, Flux asked Meta if he was ready, to which Meta nodded and looked seriously at the hanger doors, preparing to jump. Flux pulled the lever and Meta jumped out without hesitation.
For a few seconds Meta was falling through the air, then Flux grabbed him and flew them towards Hotshot. Even at the speed they were going, Meta noticed Flux being angered by people being killed, this worried Meta, he felt the same way, but was able to seperate his emotions from his actions, she might not be able to think straight if she's so angry, but Meta couldn't focus on that right now, he had to focus on the battle.
After they hit the ground, Flux absorbed the impact for Meta and as soon as Meta was free: Flux viciously attacked Hotshot. Meta's eyes widened, he growled slightly Flux, don't! We're taking him alive! End of discussion! he couldn't stay to see if he was affecting her in anyway with her words, there was a plan that he himself had come up with and they were sticking with it, so he regrettably ran towards the area where the civilians were trapped.
One woman was cowering behind a car, she screamed when one of the androids spotted her and aimed at her, preparing to open fire at her. Before she could be killed, however, Meta got between them and took the bullets for her. For a second it looked like he was a goner, but he had turned into bullet proof steel before it hit him, making it hurt like hell but not actually damage him.
He had gained the Android's attention, they all turned to him and opened fire as Meta struck the face of the one that almost killed the woman, if he had destroyed it or at least damaged it, he would cover up from the bullets before moving on to another. But if the thing had not been destroyed by his punch he would attempt to rain down punches on it.

| The young man would normally be going home at this time of day. But not today. Today, Jump City was a warzone once again. Twice this man had been an active soldier for the massive city, against the Zydon threat, and he was also a major player against the gigantic Pacific monsters. The man had raven black hair and silver-blue eyes, features prevalent on who was now a city-wide, household name; Colossus. The massive man responsible for averting several larger than life threats.
Today, he would be needed again. Russian terrorists were attacking the JC Bay Bridge, androids were slaughtering innocent people on the bridge, and from where he was, he could see that a fiery metahuman was wreaking havoc. At the moment, he was being partially subdued by whom he assumed were two of the Teen Titans; but at this distance, it was difficult to tell.
There would be...hazards, with trying to combat the androids. Fourteen tons did not bode well on bridges. However, there could be another use for the man's giant form; the bridge was starting to collapse. Rather, the cables were being cut. William knew he could...probably hold it up. But then he would be stationary and completely open to attacks.
Weighing the risks, William finally sighed and made his move. wordless, he exited his car, dodged an android and leapt from the bridge. He very quickly fell, as falling objects do, but before he got to the water, he bit down on his hand very hard, causing himself to bleed. Normally this would just make a person bleed, but for William, it was his trigger. Lightning struck him from the sky, red and green energy swirling to hit him and envelop his falling body. Steam billowed out from the ball of light, and cascaded onto the waves as a very large object hit the water, causing a large wave to follow. Out of the water rose Colossus, and he let out a mighty roar, as he always did.
Turning, the giant waded through the water, under the bridge, placing his arms up and over his head, grasping the bridge to keep it up.

| "Metamorphi. You work at protecting the civilians. That's our biggest concern. Protect the people." Hotwire's voice crackled over his communicator. Next it was flux. "Flux, we just need to nutralize him. I'm handling the robots." came their leaders voice.
All of a sudden, many of the droids would begin to shut down. Hotwire was walking down the bridge. Not running, but walking. He needed the energy to focus, because there were a lot of these things. But he seemed to be clearing a path of robots down the bridge. His focus was then broken as the bridge began to heave. The bridge looked ready to go. But then the giant, a being whom hotwire had run into a few times before, held the bridge up.
It took hotwire a few seconds to collect himself... but unfortunately, it took the droids only milliseconds to do so. By the time he had begun work again, they were firing. Hotwire immediately used his powers to pull one of them in front of him, and turn it into a meat shield. A few more began to join the robot covering him, the metal reworking into a shield, with a few machine guns protruding. He used the eyes of the robots to make a multiview minimap of the bridge, and enemy locations, taking refuge behind his shield.
"Attention. I have a safe cover for any who need it. Meta, I repeat, I have a safe cover." He said. The robots tried to advance on him, only for their heads to get blown off in seconds. His little wall of guns was working.

| Hotspot had sliced through a good amount of the wires holding the support beams in place with a buzzsaw like blaze extending from his arm to the wires. He had also cut through about four support beams - melting through them with his his flames to the point where metal itself bubbled under the intense heat and then separated. Without these supports the bridge began to churn and crack as jigsaw lines formed in the cement and concrete that formed the base of the structure.
Only Hotspot could produce such intense heat at such as precision rapid rate for this kind of destruction and possibly only the Teen Titans could stop him. Three of which came on scene just in time. A thick haze surrounded Hotspot as Bioshock's effort to blind and intoxicate him went into affect, then from above Flux and Metamorphi descended into into the smoke with a huge meteor-like impact. However, as soon as they entered Hotspot shot out of the smoke with two flaming jets from his hands and skidded a few feet away. Hotspot was breathing heavily however, the smoke had done it's job. Hotspot had thought to shoot a fire plume into the smoke and burn whatever may spring from it, but instead he shot a flare into the sky.
This seemed like a huge mistake because Flux came flailing out a moment later and gashed Hotspot across the chest causing him to stumble back. That smoke would've affected a more human hero, but Flux seemed to either be immune or have a tolerance to it. The former honorary Titan jet-propelled from his feet, performing a back-flip in mid air and landed on one knee. He threw a fireball at her, but the flame was weaker than it would've been due to his exhaustion. Also his free hand was gripping the wound on his chest.
This battle appeared as though it would be over quickly, especially with the appearance of Colossus...At least until the sound of a large canon could be heard off in the distance. A shot had been fire and zipped across the water from a Russian battle frigate stationed off the coast. The flare Hotspot had just displayed was a targeting beacon to let them know he had weakened the foundation. The shell flew towards the bridge - unless Colossus shielded the bridge with his body the bay bridge would be struck and crumble on one side due to the work Hotspot had already done leaving only the other side in tact. All in addition to sending anyone to close to the blast radius flying off the bridge, droids included.
The massive impact rocked the bridge either way, giving Hotspot the ability to avoid Flux's next move and place his hand on the ground where he melted the cement/tar in front of him with a flash of intense heat that was meant to capture Flux in the now gooey substance.
The Titan's had other problems as well - the pedestrians after impact would either be falling off or already be plummeting towards the water due to the bridge's rattling. Some were also still in the range of fire on the droids, although they were focusing their efforts on Metamorphi, Hotwire, and Bioshock mainly making these people easier to protect. They barraged Bio and Hotwire with heavy fire and used their spiked fists to melee fight Meta.
This bridge was still falling and the heroes would need to subdue Hotspot as well as ensure the hostages safety if they wished to save it. The sudden introduction of a rain storm showering down matched the tears of the pedestrians struggling to stay alive in this battle. This was war, this was real evil.

| She didn't have time to be surprised at how serious the situation was. Having no super means of transportation, Mav had arrived at the scene later than she would have wanted. On the bridge itself, the Titans were engaged with droids while under the bridge a different kind of titan was holding up the structure. It was easy to see the whole thing was in danger of collapsing, making the big guy the most crucial point of this defense strategy. With that in mind, he was naturally the one in the most danger.
"Gonna need to borrow this!" She flashed her hero license at the police who had arrived at the scene to help before taking one of their bulletproof shields and heading towards the giant's location. To avoid the fighting above, she made use of her line launcher to swing and maneuver from under the bridge. As she passed by, she could see the cracks at the foundation getting bigger. She had to hurry.
Her suspicions were soon confirmed. From off the coast, a frigate had suddenly made an appearance and fired one of its cannons. There was no time to think. Holding the shield as close to her as possible, she activated her aura and timed her swing to collide with the shell. There was a loud thud as it made impact but it didn't go through. It ricocheted off and crashed into the banks well away from the bridge.
Mav sighed with relief but kept an eye on the boat in case it intended to fire more shots.

| The arrival of the Titans, the Colossus, and the Terminators all turned the bridge into a modern warzone. Bio, to say the least was pretty excited, with things definitely resembling a war zone from a video game erupting around everyone. As The Terminators took on the Titans they were beginning to regroup they focused on the heroes a more than the innocents and the bridge. The fact that innocents was definitely not cool and Bio surveyed the situation, threw aside, the chair and began to fire more healing gas into the crowd. People clutched their wounds in agony but found a new warmth and strength as life stayed in their bodies. Â
Athena, his sidekick border collie, arrived on the scene at the coast with a gathering crowd of police and onlookers and watched a girl pull out some kind of gadget and join the fray. Whatever she was planning on doing, she hoped she would be all right. It looked pretty bad up there.
Chuck? You've got to get them off the bridge too. If it falls you're all in trouble. You've gotta clear a path
Chuck was skating in between cars and was dodging bulletfire while returning it. He felt the vibration of something coming and the bridge suddenly shook with an impact, almost punctuating Athena's advice. The terminators were now focusing on him and Hotwire, pinning them down. Athena was right, it didn't matter who won, the whole point of being here would be over if everyone on the bridge died except for him. Looking around he concentrated and thought, then snapped his fingers when he found a seemingly obvious solution. He then looked back at what Hotwire was doing.
"heheh. Bio, you're brilliant."
He ran to one of the many large tourist buses that were on the bridge and knocked on the bus door, seeing a driver still inside. A woman with blonde highlights opened the door once she recognized him.
"We've got to drive THIS over there and clear a path! Can you help?"
He pointed towards Hotwire's turret. It was worth a try. He got in the seat after she agreed to help.
"Hold onto my shoulder. I'll give you my strength and you give me yours."
The moment she touched him he acquired the hand-eye coordination that she received from her experience of being a bus driver, while he in turn calmed her down by releasing endorphins inside her brain to control the adrenaline rush.
"First time having a side-seat driver is a good thing eh?" she nervously joked and Bio quickly nodded in response.
He stepped on the accelerator full throttle and knocked through the path of traffic locked cars. He knew there weren't anyone in them since they had all run off once the terminators made cars useless. He honked the horn repeatedly and ducked his head as he reached Hotwire's position, then swung it around to expose the empty side of the bus to the Terminator's fire purposely stopping a few inches from Hotwire's turret. Â He then opened the bus door.
"All aboard! Yo Hotwire you may not know me but I know you. Just a hero trying to help. I was wondering what you can do for my ride here with your turret. Then we can get these people off the bridge as fast as possible."
The bus rampage had also cleared a path for those on foot to run, which was an intended consequence of Bio's plan.
"I'll cover you!"
Bio would get off the bus, leaving it to the brave bus driver and Hotwire, while he went for the Terminators. His 'Edge' fighting style with Speedy's fitness and reflexes took on a much more refined look, able to do somersaults and shoot at the same time, actually landing hits on two of the Terminators. This, however, only knocked them back like a school game of dodgeball and left him with a bleeding shot arm as he jumped over behind more dwindling cover, a cement dividing wall between the walkway for tourists, and the highway. He breathed more nitrogen, preparing an anti armor clip, and speed-skated towards Meta's position using the wall as cover. He stopped and then sniped at Terminators in the distance. The whole point was to draw all fire towards him and Meta.
"Pick on someone your own size punks!" He yelled.
Meanwhile, police choppers was picking up a line of people being pulled by a mysterious dog in the water to the safety of the beach. Although she wasn't the best of fighters, Athena's mix of telepathy and telekinesis definitely came in handy for the canine hero, able to pull them away from the war zone and onto the beach at a steady 12 miles per hour pace.

Flux clenched her jaw hard as Hotspot narrowly evaded her furious assault, and fired a beam of flame into the air. The smoke indeed was no impediment to the liquid heroine - she didn't need to breathe - but it did obscure her vision somewhat. When she came out, she had a split second's chance to react to his fireball assault, but that was enough - she jerked a blob of mass into the air, and met the attack halfway. She hadn't bothered making a nucleon for the counter because there was no point! All she needed was water in order to defend against the fire attack.
But something... was coming. She hadn't had time to process the purpose of the attack that had completely missed her in the smoke, but she DID know he could have hit her easily. The fact that he'd actually chosen to take time away from defending himself to do so said that it'd had some point. He was a skilled metahuman, she thought - would he really have made a mistake like that?
No. She heard a distant crack. Cannonfire. She was already forming a Nucleon in her hand as she grit her teeth and charged at Hotspot. She had to stop him moving so well - had to get him on her level to beat him, to stop him. She flung the nucleon and a good sized ball of her mass at him,
=========
Another hero was in play, that night. One that had deemed the bridge well enough defended, that had run the numbers with Colossus's assistance, one that had been watching, sharpening her metaphorical axe before acting. She wasn't even looking at the bridge a minute into the attack. One one hand, she could definitely have helped on the bridge... but she'd judged also that something else was at play. She'd spotted the battle frigate some distance off... and had already been en route to it, flying low and careful when she saw the cannons move.
Deadlock's eyes widened as her monitors inside the monstrous mecha focused her view on them. It was... it was aiming at the bridge! She glanced over her shoulder, and the cameras switched around a bit to give her a brief view of the bridge. She gave up on stealth at this point, running numbers in her head as she ascended. So it was when the shell came out of night, it would be intercepted by the Inevitable. But... she hadn't been fast enough. She spat a curse and looked back again as she accelerated, and saw another heroine take the hit in her shield, fling the attack into space offa some kind of shield. And the heroes pick up the spare! Huzzah!
Hoooooly crap that was way too close. She was almost there. By that point people on the ship had spotted her, and machine guns - 50 cals, light cannons, and small arms were already roaring at her, but they were no more dangerous to the Inevitable than the assault of a swarm of flies - and her defenses were holding just fine. A lucky shell hit one of her thrusters, knocking it out, but she diverted power from it with deft finger movements inside to compensate in other thrusters. She didn't bother hitting the frigate lightly - she landed on the cannon that had fired upon the bridge, and brought both fists down on the weapon with an overhead double-handed blow that crushed it utterly, then tore it off the ship, bearing it over her head. It wasn't firing anything any time soon.
Deadlock roared at the men on deck in challenge"Really, you WORMS?! You thought so?!", her voice a double-toned demonic roar, then hurled it at the control room of the frigate.
================
Flux stepped in the hot tar, and lost her balance, but she'd already sent her projectile at the burning hero. She wasn't to kill him, she knew that - even if briefly she'd forgotten, but she hadn't planned to. It was perhaps fortuitous that he was holding still as that projectile flew at him and she fell in the hot goo. It wasn't a solution exactly - but she'd been practicing, and it was a classic trick.
Safety foam.
Well, sorta. She was able to control her own properties, though - able to make herself both stickier and cause reactions in herself. Why not test this trick for the first time? When the nucleon and glob of goo hit, either hitting him or near him, it dramatically expanded, splattering everywhere as it did, super-sticky sludge bubbling dramatically. The heat it would communicate was limited - air pockets help a lot with that sort of thing, incidentally.
Flux didn't dare become a mist - the wind on the bridge would blow her about madly, but she couldn't let Hotspot just get out of this, finish his work! She shot her hands out, gripping the pavement to either side of Hotspot's tar pit, and suddenly jerked as she became elastic, the blue heroine shedding tar as she snapped forward at the molten hero. She'd lost some mass in doing all of this... but she was still 5/6 her original size at this point, fist raised high over her head like a scorpion tail as she brought it around at Hotspot's center mass, whether he was bound or not.

| Meta struck the android in the face, making the sounds that is made when steel clashes with steel, the damage dealt by Meta's strike should have been insignificant, as it was against something just as hard as his skin was at the moment. But the strength and technique behind the punch was enough to send the robot's head flying off it's body and smash it to pieces.
As he was fighting, a giant appeared in the river, this is the same giant that had fought for them in the Zydon invasion and against the giant monsters who appeared a few months earlier. The giant held the bridge up, which Meta had been to distracted trying to help the people to notice that it was on the verge of collapse.
Meta heard Hotwire's voice through his communicator, ordering him to protect the citizens, that was what he was doing anyway, by taking the attentions of the robots off of the civilians and onto him. Then, all of a sudden, several robots shut down and were moved aside by Hotwire, Meta was still being shot at by the few still standing, but he wasn't bothered too much by the bullets.
But all of a sudden, Hotwire lost his focus by the bridge shaking, causing the robots to reactivate and fire at him, Meta's instinct was to run in front of him and protect him, but Hotwire was able to protect himself by making a shield out of the robots. Trust their leader to make a turret out of a few meat shields.
Suddenly, a shot was fired at the bridge from a Russian ship, whether it hit or not, the bridge would be rocked, Meta stood his ground as much as he could, but he still stumbled. The robots came at him, trying to take him down with melee attacks, they did not realise how screwed they were.
One threw a punch which Meta sidestepped, then got the arm in a hold, if he were to try and break the arm as if it were a human arm, it would not nearly be effective enough, so instead he broke it with the intention to break it off. He ducked under another and sent a punch to it's torso, smashing it.
He then spun to avoid another punch, wrapping it's arm over his shoulder and flipping it to the ground, smashing it's skull as it hit the ground. He then twirled around and twisted the head off of the robot he had disarmed. For his own personal reasons, Meta had chosen never to kill again, but this was proof that he could be an efficient killer if he wanted to be.
Elsewhere, he noticed that rescue attempts of the civilians were being executed, good, this was what was most important, the lives of the people were more important than the physical bridge itself! And for the lives of the people to be saved, everyone needed to do their part!
Meta noticed that Bioshock and Hotwire were being shot at by the robots, Meta charged at the robots, drawing their fire. He leapt at one, striking it in the face and breaking it's head, he then jumped into the air, kicking another in the head and knocking it down. As he went down, he grabbed one's head and slammed it onto the ground hard, crushing it's head as he crushed the one he knocked to the ground underfoot.
He kept on fighting the androids, keeping the real players in this fight from having to deal with them.

| The bridge had truly become a warzone now. There was fire, rubble crashing into the water like enormous rain drops on a pond, rippling the waves, and also showing Colossus that his job was going to become a lot harder. The bridge was falling apart irregardless of if he was holding up most of it. Soon enough, it'd be too unstable.
He spread his arms to hold up a wider area of the bridge, which had essentially become too sections now. He heard the cannon fire, knowing he wouldn't be nearly fast enough to stop the round. So he didn't, just bracing himself to hold up whatever shattered remains were left after it hit. Except that it never did. Looking up, Colossus noticed a girl swinging down, deflecting the round with her shield.
Colossus blinked, but silently thanked her. He hoped she would help him, at least until the bridge was free of innocents. And then he could turn his strength elsewhere. He could help the mysterious mech with the frigates, or climb the bank to fight the androids.

| His shielding was holding up fairly nicely, and growing a bit as well. While the droids were firing, hotwire was using his powers to pull them in for the kill. The would soon find themselves absorbed into the wall. A family of four, a young couple, and an elderly woman had all taken shelter behind the shield of robots.
They were saving lives.
"Just remain calm. He said, before his powers began picking up a strange technological reading off on one of the Russian crafts. But it seemed to be causing destruction over there...

| Bioshock had cleared a pasth and a canine was swimming through the water saving pedestrians, the bridge was on the verge of collapsing but the process was slow thanks to the giant supporting it's weight. Not to Menotti the droids being engaged on the bridge and Hotspot under siege by the Titans. Finally, the off-shore fire had been not only diverted but permanently stopped by a mechanized hero. The Russian's were forced to proceed to the final plan of action. The canon was caught before it reached the control room by a very large red hand which spun the object on it's finger and whirled it back at her; the debris spun wildly towards the flying mech. Additionally four jet airplanes were approaching to attack the bridge out int he distance, they would bombard everything alive with heavy fire on the structure - even Hotspot - and were incoming fast. These pleans definitely weren't friendly because they had not attacked the ship Deadlock was currently engaged with, no their focus and flight path was all too clear. - Spoiler:
Deadlock wouldn't be able to reach them however because she was now not only being locked on and shot at by the frigate but had to endure battle with Agrent. The once former Titan enlarged the energy projection hand to swat the armored female into the ocean below. Meanwhile, back on the bridge the droids continued to battle the metas. The initiative switched to causing more damage to the bridge however. This also left the machines more vulnerable to attack - their chest cavities opened up releasing multiple shells of high explosives which scattered around destroying chunks of the bridge. It was clear winning a fight with heroes wasn't their goal. Hotspot was struck by Flux in the sternum, surprised that she broke from her body to hit him. He went soaring into a vehicle and slid down the side of it after making a dent to the hrd asphalt. The traitor grabbed his sternum and coughed up blood, momentarily transforming back to human form but then caught a blaze once again. The material that had gotten all over his body would've usually kept the flames from spreading or even generating, but from the parts of figure not covered int he substance fire sprung - extremely HOT fire. Flames that ate away the material all over his body and then lit the teen up like a human match. He was angry now - rage fueled him, and the flame grew so large it became noticeable to all in attendance, even in this heavy rain. Â The water steamed as it reached his fire and the vehicle behind him began to melt. He planned to flash fire the area at this point, he was too tired to fight on anyway. The flame would be a short burst that from where he was located and would be able to burn away all near him. This was no issue to the heroes of course because all they had to do was move away from the blast radius as quick as possible...But for William, who's hand was just under Hotspot's location, it would be a rather large issue because moving meant that part of the bridge would collapse.

| From her perch on the side of the bridge, Mav was continuing to survey the situation. There were no follow-up shots from the frigate, which was a small relief in the otherwise bleak situation. The other heroes had done a good job leading the civilians out of harm's way and so she contemplated joining the fray against the droids on the bridge. It was then that she saw something that made her heart sink. Coming in fast from sea were 4 jets. This was not good. As far as she knew, California didn't have allies in this war and from the direction the planes were coming from, it would be naive to think they were friendly. In any case, this new development meant the bridge was now a lost cause. She had to warn the others.
She scrambled up to the rail and whistled the loudest she could muster to get the attention of as many heroes as possible. Once she was sure at least a couple had their eyes on her, she raised her arms up and hoped someone out there had enough military field knowledge to understand the hand signal for "imminent air strike". And if they did get it, they would know it was time abandon the area. It was no longer a situation where determination could pull them through.
After signaling for several seconds, she swung back down under the structure to warn one more hero trying their best to literally support the bridge.
"Hey big guy! Civilians are safe! It's time to go! We've got planes incoming!"
