The First Wave - Russian Attack !

(Sorry if I'm double-posting. Thought it would take a post just to get to the island)

Bio watched with human vision the blurs that were Aqualad and more torpedoes underwater but was called to attention by Athena as they reached the beach. He surfaced riding a wave, and looked around. Athena sniffed the anesthetic gas in the air. After huddling with Bio for a quick plan they broke off. A telepathic audio message was sent to Titans and former Titans in the area alike.

This is the registered hero, Bioshock! Sorry I got here late but let me take care of that gas for you guys. I'm on the beach of the island right now and ohh man what a party. The front door should be usable in a few seconds.

The biogun was aimed at the doorway and Bio focused then began firing rounds into the gas, with a mist rising to dilute and disperse Speedy's gas.

Anyone wanting to get in or out, there you go. I can't do anything about the drones yet, but I'm here to help with anything else.

Speedy prepped three arrows as he saw both Yang's flare and Ravian's light beam coming one after the other. Each was answered with an appropriate arrow. He also easily saw Bow incoming from his peripheral vision and shot down her attack without even turning his head in that direction. Speedy was human, but his archery and eyesight is what made him super. None of these attacks would hit the helicopter as long as he was able to counter it.

Speedy saw yang was deflecting and countering his arrows and the droids were taking heavy fire and had been disabled by an EMP. It looked like it was time for him to use that arrow. When Yang tossed a drone into the bay Speedy took out a special arrow and shot it in mid air - the arrow had a computer chip at the end of it that flew perfectly into the android's port. Within a moment the android was back online and landed on it's feet. It rolled forward avoiding Yang's shots irregularly as if it had it's own conscience and began to merge with the other offline droids. The fact that Bow had super-heated them had made them easier to join with actually. The spectacle happening right in front of their eyes was amazing but scary. The droids had all just re-arranged and combined into a huge robot. The eighteen foot machine had a microchip underneath it's face plate akin to a past villain that Titans used to deal with - Overload.

The electricity Overload was putting out made it impossible for another EMP to work due to how fast he would neutralize it, and the fact it was a living machine. Not to mention yang was in a tough spot herself. After throwing that last drone Speedy noticed Yang was making a habit out of swatting away her arrows and she had been moving out of the tower purposely in range to throw the droids into the bay. Speedy readied five arrows and shot them around her - four on each side and one right down the middle - even if shot they would explode and release a large mass of goop. This goop was an immobilizing agent, very sticky, enough of it could hold a subway line train cart in place. Speedy hadn't shot that much, but enough to immobilize Yang if she tried to deflect or shoot it again.

The helicopters kept firing on Bow, now that Yang had been dealt with and Overload had made that physically indestructible robot he would focus on shooting her down. One poison tipped arrow was primed and ready while the second chopper broke off to distract Tiberious's forces. The one he was on unloaded at the falcon she was riding with missiles and heavy bullet fire.

Far off in the distance a huge explosion occurred as the third helicopter was destroyed compeltely - California's forces were mobilizing. They would have to pull out soon and leave the robot to finish the job. Said giant robot didn't seem focused on the Titans extermination however, instead it plowed into the tower and drilled into it's hull.

Back in the bay; the diffused red light was a huge tip-off luckily. Underwater Aqualad's reflex were second to none. He was beyond super-human. He swished sideways as the beam ricocheted perfectly off the back of the corridor and zipped through the hole he made and struck a great white shark he had summoned. The large fish flopped over and floated right side up instantly after contact. That was dangerous.

Then the bay doors opened...HUGE mistake. Aqualad extended both hands back and then flung them forward, which rapidly flooded they bay door - concentrated water flowed in like a waterfall in reverse. Additionally, one of the submarines came in under the cover of schools of different fish, acting as a huge clouded meat shield for it. Aqualad stayed back and continued to flood the area, it would be filled in no time with the never ending water source Aqualad had at his disposal. Additionally, the submarine's hatch opened and out funneled a crew in armored suits carrying specialized weapons. Before Ravian knew it the water level would rise high enough that the Tower's lower levels would be completely flooded and then submersed.

And just like that Ravian closed the doors and destroyed one of the submarines.  As soon as it started moving forward it was doomed. Once it's nose entered, it's fate was sealed. The doors forced the flowing water to funnel, forcing the submarine forward even as it was crushed. It's walls were being sheared from it, with help from the jagged edges the torpedoes and Aqualad had made.

Past that, though water could flow through, no more submarines were getting through the bay entrance. "Water is flooding in, but the submarines are neutralized. Grab one of those gas cans and throw it down here if you have time. It'll poison the water.

He floated above the water, his eyes glowing "No visual on Aqualad....keep an eye out."

((I'm still not happy, especially since you skipped yourself first (Order was Titans News, JaK last time it posted) but whatever. I know you're going to just ignore me. You have a tendency to.))

Yang continued shooting down the arrows when the goop hit her, and she had curled in just the right position she could still use her arms. Advantage acquired! Then a robot turned into Overload and...advantage withdrawn! With Overload attacking the tower and Yang completely trapped, she knew she had to get out and had to stop Overload. Otherwise that Tower was going to fall on her. And it would definitely kill her. From the look of it, the goop she was stuck in was stopping the enemy from shooting her, and made her rather difficult to get to. She turned on her radio. "Ravian. I need you up here now. Former villain Overload has just surfaced and is downing the Tower. I can't do anything about it from here." When she heard rushing water on the other end, she realized Rav was probably drowning.

With another diagnostic, she had to find out how much control over the tower she still had remotely. She opened the doors to the bay exit, allowing any flooding water to enter the tower instead, and at a faster rate than Aqualad could flood it through such a small hole. "Ravian, If you need to poke more holes in the walls to drain water, feel free. I won't stop you. Just don't die on me." She said before changing her focus to Overload and her containment unit. Bow was still up so that was useful. "Bow, I need you to do what you can to take out Overload. According to the files on him that were in the tower, he had a severe weakness to water, and that chip Speedy shot into him is going to be a weakpoint too. The chip is overload, not the machine."

Then she turned on Kale's. "Kale, I know you're still pissed at me but this isn't the time for it, alright? I need you to focus on Speedy and let Bow handle Overload. She has her aquakinesis to take him out, and if she needs help he's never been a fan of overloading on electricity either. Speedy has way too many arrows to deal with from a distance so you need to get close to him. That's where you can take him."

Now everyone had their orders, and Yang had to focus on getting free. She had to try everything with this goop. She tried hitting it...well that made her elbow get stuck. Progress! One thing she hadn't known a moment ago! She had to run a bioscan of it then.

With a few moments of scanning, it seemed the goop had some sort of weakness to heat. Perfect. She placed her right hand on the goop and started superheating herself again, trying to get it to either boil itself and dissolve.

"Roar of the Ion Fang!" As the poison arrow darted towards Bow the arrow was eradicated by a bolt of electricity. Speedy would turn to see Kale approaching on a falcon as the helicopter shined it's light upon him. He was standing erect on the large bird with one hand at his side and his palm resting in it, a bright light blaring from his hands. "Just who do you think you're giving orders!" Kale barked as an electrical current sparked all around him and he shot forward a dozen small visible orbs of electricity through the air towards Speedy's chopper. "Vulcan shock ignition!"

The other chopper would probably start firing on Kale's falcon now to, so he ordered it to attack and dodge the chopper fire to distract it while the Titan Mage leaped off towards the ground where he landed hard in front of Yang causing the ground to crack under him. "Ugh..." He looked to Yang and opened his mouth wide as he approached her. "It's your job to defend your home, so get yourself together Yang and rejoin he fight!" He roared and began to devour the goop that had her stuck strategically in areas that would give her mobility. As Brave did this he winked to her - he wasn't going to leave a comrade in such a sticky situation.

Bow hadn't even noticed the arrow that was coming at her until Kale had already evaporated it. She turned to him with wide eyes and blushed, barely making out a "thank you" before she saw that Overload had fully formed. Her attention was turned back to him as she let her falcon worry about gunfire. Luckily Kale's act had the bullets aimed at him, though she hated to see it, but then Yang gave her orders and kale dove down to help the trapped leader.

Aquakineses? That wouldn't be powerful enough to stop Overload!! ...Unless... Bow sighed and bit her lip, allowing herself to think about...him...for the first time in weeks. Images of her favorite times flashed before her eyes before abruptly changing to those final moments. And then she thought of how he might be doing now, what he was doing... tears came to her eyes and a dark cloud formed above them within seconds. Then she really let herself go. She thought of the few memories she had of her past. The fire. The murder. The hospital. Instantly it began to rain, and rained hard. She was gripping her falcon's feathers and screaming out, now being controlled by emotions, but hopefully it would be worth it. The rain was coming down with a force, pushing Swifty down...and he was a big bird.

Bio just watched as Overload built himself in front of him, piece by piece.

"Uhhhh"

Woah there, boss incoming...

Athena remarked as they watched.

"Thanks for the help, Brave" he said as more Titans joined the fray.

There are enemies inside the tower, if I can make it past big boss here I can handle them.

As for Overload, would Bio try to actually fight him?

"Nope.avi!" he said as he fired a hypersonic bullet at Overload, which would slam into its visor and create a smokescreen for Athena to rush by him at a speed which, at this distance, would be faster than the human eye could track if there was a human watching from Overload's vantage point. If she got past him, she would confront the soldiers.

Bio in the meantime was ready to distract Overload as much as possible as it began to rain.

Speedy's poison arrow was destroyed. Then a volley of sparking orbs came flying towards his helicopter. Speedy prepared multiple arrows and blocked all of the attacks, but the two falcons converged on his chopper and hit it, sending the aircraft into a tailspin as it went spiraling towards the bay. Speedy shot a grappling hook arrow to the final helicopter and zipped to it abandoning the pilot. Once on board he ordered the pilot of the still airborne helicopter to abort mission. Overload had already succeeded and Speedy could see the force that was incoming. They would need to retreat and therefore increased altitude while firing off all they had at the two birds to get out of dodge. With the pouring rain all around them the falcons were forcibly grounded on the island anyway making the exit easier.

As the submarine entered the doors closed rapidly faster than they had been opened. It was a trap, and a simple one at that, there was no time to reverse out especially with the huge school of fish in the way. The entire sub was evacuated forcing the men to push for the hangar entrance to the tower in their suits. Of course there was a contingency door keeping them and all the flooding water out but they had come prepared; an underwater bazooka was handed to one of the lead soldiers and pointed at the entrance. The Russian fired and the missile soared towards the entrance, if Ravian didn't stop it the hangar would be compromised allowing for sea water to enter the tower and if he stood to close he might also catch some of the explosion.

A moment later the door was re-opened by Yang. Aqualad saw his opportunity to get the men out and created a back current to suck them out of the flooding hangar. This was a dangerous situation, the enemy had lasers that could ricochet into any one of the soldiers and possibly kill on impact like that shark. Aqualad used the huge mass of fish to block the soldiers as they were funneled back by the current. All the soldiers piled into the other submarine. It was time to pull out the mission was complete.

The mission was indeed complete. Overload had drilled into the tower using the drill from the monstrous droid and entered the Tower's internal systems. The job was to take intel and fry everything but wen it started to heavy rain Overload realized there was no time for intel and just fried as many systems as possible starting with the defense grid, the main database, and finally communications. Inside the tower sparks and flames sprouted from the mainframe as Overload did exactly what his name suggested and crashed all the systems completely. The tower was now just a large structure with holes in the hangar and front entrance. Every fried system would need to be completely replaced which during a war the Titans would not have the luxury of just sitting around and rebuilding and installing.

Overload lost connection before he could reach all the back-ups luckily or take control of the tower himself. The rain caused him to scream and surge uncontrollably as it down-poured. Overload turned to switch his attack to the girl but the smokescreen blocked the huge droid's sensors/view even though it would soon be dispersed by the rain. If the Titans were going to mount a counter attack, now was the time! Their enemy was blind and immobilized.

Malan'tai watched as the helicopter turned to leave he flew after it and aimed ahead. A bolt of psionic power flying out and striking the rotor housing shearing the rotor off the helicopter in one quick burst. He was on them in mere moments, hovering over the downed vehicle blasts of power raining down into the wreckage. Mal's field would deflect the pitiful arrows without issue. The needles slowed and sank into the water.

With their targets gone they had found something new to attack. The needle like drones zoomed through the water aiming to puncture the subs and drive them to the bottom, a dozen had made it. Three exploded on impact with the water having not slowed down enouhg. Those operators would be getting a lecture after the mission.

Over all the titans had held their own remarkably, Tib's forces was going to give them all the chance they needed to go counter the assault. Malan'tai on the other hand was cold. They had disrupted the order of things and broken the unity he'd created. Those "responsible" would be made to suffer. If no one rescued Speedy, he'd be found in chunks.

Ravian watched, sweling with a bit of pride. His plan had worked! Of course, technically speaking it would have sort worked if the sub had made it through, just nowhere near as effectively. The soldiers would have been a pain to deal with if they could have fired pot shots from the entrance. He would have had to take them out one, maybe two, by one(or two). That would have kept him away from the top levels longer than he liked. He wanted to go back up for support as soon as possible. Once the sub was done for he began to float back. He couldn't save the soldiers, if they needed it. Not without risking the tower anyways, and the sub wasn't a danger anymore.

He was slightly wrong though. There still were things inside the submarine that were dangerous. Some of the soldiers had apparently been prepared to not be able to make land without going underwater. Those soldiers were now out, if still underwater. A rocket pierced through the water and went soaring by. Ravian shot a beam at it as fast as he could, but only managed in destroying the back engine. It killed the penetration of the projectile though. Instead of breaking foundations, it only destroyed the technology inside the room and filling it with thick smog.

He reopened the doors, slightly, enough to let the water lower faster. Aqualad helped, getting the men out with a similar idea, and Yang's door had the tower devoid of standing water quickly. The submarine pieces were still in the tunnel though, blocking any further penetration from that entrance. The steel would have to be pushed out from this side before anything would be able to pass. "Water attackers have retreated, watch for the second submarine, it's still in working condition." he said, floating through the doors, back into the main building "Whats the sitch up here?" he cried out, not yet outside.

After eating Yang free of the substance he grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the remaining gunk. Kale was having a stomach ache now however from eating the abnormal material. He grabbed his stomach, groaned, and dropped to his knees.

The boy gasped for air but instead found water. WATER! Kale opened his mouth and gulped down the pouring rain, drop by drop entered his mouth and slowly but sure his strength returned. Meanwhile Overload was malfunctioning due to the rain. If water was his weakness than Kale would aid in giving him as much as possible.

Brave instructed Yang to jump and exhaled a geyser of water from his mouth at her, which pushed her into the giant android. "ROAR OF THE RAGING MALESTROM!"

The water jet and Yang collided with Overload. Yang was unharmed by the high-powered water jet, and if she was harmed she wasn't showing it due to her focus on the enemy. The girl struck the robot with her fist on impact. Both Brave and her attack plus the slippery surface from Bow's rain made that huge cybernetic being slide backwards into the bay.

Overload would tumble into the water from the Titan Tri-Attack where he was sure to short-circuit completely.

The rain came down and Bio noticed its merciful effect on Overload. Then Kale finished freeing Yang just before the electric robot could re-calculate and respond to his and Bow's efforts. Bio's eyes widened as Kale literally belched water out of his mouth at the robot. It had been a crazy year for Bio getting used to being a superhero and was raised in a world full of them and that still didn't prepare him for the bizarre things that were possible. Perhaps it was because his powers were much more human than most that he still couldn't relate that much to the Titans. Regardless he was here to help.

As Overload began to short circuit, he aimed his biotech gun at the droid's head and braced himself. A small blast of air accompanied an anti-armor supersonic bullet which would hit the face-plate of Overload like a cannon. He crouched and readied for another shot if that's what needed to be done.

The Helicopter Speedy had just escaped to was in the midst of retreat when the boy noticed something from his exceptional peripheral vision. The flying warships that approached were closing in fast and this modern aircraft would not escape them.

No time for a parachute, no time to warn the pilot - Speedy jumped from the chopper and even with his forewarning he did not escape unscatched. As he plummeted to the water below the explosion's blast radius reached him. The shrapnel severed a limb and the explosion itself knocked him unconscious as he crashed into the water.

An explosion next to Aqualad alerted him to danger as the final submarine exploded with all the men he had rescued. A cloud of blood filled the water with limbs and organs that soon became fish food. All the men inside were completely eradicated. Another explosion on the surface also caused him to look up. A body hit the water, blood seeping from it.

It was Speedy, and indeed a chunk of him was missing. Aqualad swam over to him and took hold of his fallen comrade. He gave him brief CPR and then swam off with aquatic super-speed. Overload was on his own from this point - Mission aborted.

Overload sputtered and groaned as the Titans unified against him, unable to mount a counter offense as his systems went haywire. The villain attempted to randomly fire, but his control chip was struck jumbling even his ability to keep this mechanical body together, and then he was knocked into the bay by a joint effort to make matters worse. He rose from the water still, flailing to reach the surface of the isle again while parts of his mech body fell apart. Then Bioshock's last round hit and cracked the chip...

Overload fell silent and sank into the bay. The body broke apart and the chip was left floating along the waves...The Titans had successfully defended their home, but the damage was severe. All systems fried, their landing dock tarnished, and their entrance non-existent.

Repairs would take longer than this war would allow, given the due diligence the city would require from it's protectors if this was the sort of wave of attack the Russian's planned to utilize every time.

With Overload defeated and the Tower partially saved, Kale walked over to Yang and glared at first, but then extended his fist to bump with hers. A stern smile crept across his face as he showed respect to her - he was Brave but Yang and Ravian had defended their home rather than run.

All the drama, all the anger, all the fighting would come to an end here. All four of them along with this other hero Bioshock had defended against a lot of powerful enemies. This was enough to prove to Kale that a unified effort was needed. "I think I'll take you up on that offer now."

Kale said as spoke aloud for Bow and Ravian to hear if they were approaching. "We've had our issues, and I know I was at the source of a few of them, but this threat is something bigger than any I've ever had to face in even my homeworld." Kale pleaded his case, Bow had taught him the true voice of empathy. "Were all registered heroes, were all Titans, and although we don't agree on tactic or even like each other...I trust you with my life and I trust you to fight with me to defend this land." Kale said as he peered at all of them.

He then looked at the wreckage behind them, the tower was dark and damaged, no light shown from it. "Come with me to my home, I'll lend you a safe place to stay Yang and Oculus, just like you gave me one once. From there will figure out how to counter attack."

Kale narrowed his eyes. "If this was just the beginning and they were able to do this to seasoned heroes, this city is in for a lot of trouble. We have to band up and fight like we did before against the aliens." It was true. If they had brought more forces this battle wouldn't have gone so well, but if Kale and Bow had been here to begin with it might have gone better. They would be stronger under one roof as a team. "Even if it is just to combat your Russians."
