===POWERS===

Powers:
Power Girl's cellular structure is more dense, resilient and biologically more effective than Earth human tissue. She does possess several additional organs, the function of which are not yet disclosed or understood. Power Girl has manifested a wide range of metahuman abilities and is considered to be one of the most powerful metahumans alive. Power Girl's body also actively stores energy within her bio-cellular matrix as an energy pattern that is linked to her body's electromagnetic field. This energy powers most of Power Girl's electromagnetic capabilities, such as flight and heat vision.
  • Solar Energy Absorption: The cellular structure of a Kryptonian is similar to that of all humans. However, a certain chemical makeup in the ribosomes is capable of absorbing solar energy and storing it. Once the ribosomes achieve saturation levels of this radiation, they begin to re-radiate the energy in the form of a bioelectric forcefield. Each individual cell within the field's radius becomes reinforced in such a way that the cells are not only protected from external harm, but internal forces as well. Since the individual cells are wholly invulnerable, they are capable of operating at levels of efficiency that would destroy normal humanoid cells. These "super-cells" lend an enhancing effect to all bodily systems... muscular, metabolic, nervous, and so forth. The continual absorption of solar energy provides a constant power source for these enhanced systems. Thus, a Kryptonian is capable of incredible feats.
    • Superhuman Strength: Her physical strength is greatly magnified by the combination of her more-efficient muscular system and the enhancement of her skeletal system's structural integrity, but is primarily augmented by the sheer force of her solar forcefield. It is generally accepted that Kara is easily strong enough to lift 35 tonnes with maximum effort, and upon being solar-charged she can increase this level up to 70 tonnes but suffers from massive exhaustion afterward.
    • Superhuman Speed: Power Girl's enhanced metabolic rate, muscular speed, and nervous system, grant her incredible speed. Her Kryptonian structure and the solar energy paths that course along her neurophysical structure allow her to react at many times normal human speed. She can move faster than the human eye can perceive if necessary. Her reflexes are quick enough to allow her to dodge most projectile weapons and catch bullets. Power Girl is at least fast enough to reach levels of half the sound barrier while running or moving on earth, however, doing so causes her to use up her solar reserves quite rapidly, so she would usually stay at peak human or low-superhuman levels while on Earth. Power Girl's perceptions are similarly rapid, allowing her to see individual bullets fired from high-speed automatic weaponry in flight and outrace them easily.
    • Superhuman Stamina: Power Girl's body stores and processes solar energy at a rapid rate and for a variety of effects, which are explained in her other powers. Her storage capacity is sufficient to let her function at a little above peak-human levels of stamina for up to 5 days depending on her physical condition and state of rest. While under a star of the right class (G-type dwarfs in the blue-white through yellow spectrum are ideal) and within a planetary atmosphere, she replenishes energy at a constant rate. If forced to expend large amounts of energy over a relatively short time, or to maintain constant exertion over longer periods of time, she tires and her power begins to diminish. Constant exertion will revert her to the level of a cranky weak-old grandma after 5 days without rest. The power recovers at the rate of normal rest, and a full recharge can be accomplished with three days of no more than minimal exertion. She like other Kryptonians does not get tired and does not to eat or sleep and can be sustained by solar energy alone. She can also hold her breath for an undefined duration.
    • Super Breath: Power Girl can generate a concentrated gust of wind from her mouth capable of freezing matter within a limited range.
    • Enhanced Senses: Power Girl possesses super enhanced senses that allow her to detect vibrational movements at least in the sub-atomic motion level. Some of her known super-senses include:
      • Telescopic Vision: Power Girl can perceive objects at great distances. The range of her telescopic vision is unknown, but she can see objects from several miles away. This ability operates independently of normal vision and can be activated or deactivated by an act of will.
      • X-Ray Vision: Through an act of will, Power Girl can perceive items in the electromagnetic spectrum through solid objects of varying depths and thickness. The exact range and mechanism of Kara's X-ray vision is unknown. She also can not look through massively dense objects or materials, including lead.
      • Microscopic Vision: The ability to see extremely small objects and images down to the atomic level.
      • Electromagnetic Spectrum Vision: Kara can see well into most of the EM spectrum. She can see and identify radio/television and any and all broadcast/transmitted frequencies, allowing her to avoid detection through radar or satellite monitoring methods.
      • Heat Vision: You don't want this girl to glare at you, trust me on this, and stay on her good side. Kara has the ability to generate concentrated lines of force from her body along her line of sight. This act is a conscious act of energy manipulation from all observed events and not an expulsion of energy from her retinas. She focuses light along various frequencies in a continuous release that she is able to contain mentally, as she has been shown with the energy actively contained around her eyes, before releasing it or allowing it to disperse. Power Girl can control her heat vision and direct it wherever she can look. She cannot use the power without opening her eyes to direct the energy, nor has she been observed to be able to project this energy from any other part of her body in this manner. The heat beams are mentally controlled and that control is apparently reflexive, so she can shut it off without accidentally damaging anything. The heat vision is hot enough to melt steel but not items above that temperature.
      • Superhuman Hearing: Kara has the ability to hear any sound at any volume or pitch from vast distances. The only Earth creature who can detect sounds at the frequency she can is a blue whale (0.01-200,000 Hz). She has shown enough control to block out ambient sounds to focus on a specific source/frequency.

    • Invulnerability: The most common explanations for her invulnerability are Power Girl having a super-dense molecular structure and/or a supercharged bio electric "aura" which acts as an invisible "force field" around her body within a few millimeters from her skin, and presumably within her body as well. It has been implied that she can extend this "aura" out unconsciously to cover others. Power Girl can easily withstand bullets and high impact forces without them piercing her skin and walk through normal fire unharmed (magical fire would vary). However, the closer the strength of the attack comes to her own, the more pain she feels. Bullets won't necessary irk her but a punch from a titanium-Sage might do the trick. However, it is next to impossible to pierce her skin so internal injuries are out of the question, unless she is fighting someone with powers similar to hers or levels of power exceeding her own (such as Starfire or Wonder Girl).
    • Superhuman Leaps: Power Girl can combine her super strength and dexterity to perform highly accurate superhuman leaps. The first time Kara jumped a vast distance, she displayed great hesitancy; since then, she's shown increasing amounts of confidence and control over her super leaps. Her superhuman leaps as of now are a substitute for flying as Kara has yet to fully learn how to fly.

-Batman
-Krypton being destroyed
-Being the last Kryptonian girl
-the way Earth is
-not being able to fly
-being weaker than other Kryptonians

-spiders
-awkward small talk

Strengths:
Her powers and skills are largely her strengths, plus due to the fact that she has already lost one family upon Krypton's destruction, she is not willing to lose another. This gives her an almost pigheaded dedication when defending earth or helping its people

Weaknesses:
  • Physical Abilities: Power Girl's physical abilities compared to the likes of her elder cousin and other Kryptonians are exceptionally low. She can only lift 35 tonnes when other Kryptonians can lift 100,000 tonnes with minimal effort, plus her speed and stamina are not even a fraction of a true Kryptonian's speed. According to Superman, this is because of her age. Even though she can hold her own against the likes of Starfire and Wonder Girl, she is weaker than them.
  • Flight: Power Girl's favorite power and her greatest embarrassment: she cannot fly. Every other Kryptonian seems to be able to do so with second nature but Kara just cannot get it. According to Superman this is because she is still unable to accept the fact that she is the last Kryptonian female alive, and the tragedy of losing so much is preventing her from focusing her mind in order to fly. She was also seen hovering a few feet off her bed while dreaming of Tim Drake, whom she has a crush on. With Clark's help, Kara was able to focus and actually fly briefly, before plummeting to the ground due to losing concentration and doubting herself.
  • Timidity: Power Girl holds back a lot. This is because of feeling like she's in a place where she doesn't belong when she's on earth, plus her powers put her at odds with the "cardboard-like" nature of the planet itself, prompting her to "pull her punches" subconsciously as not to kill someone.
  • Lead: Kara's vision powers cannot penetrate lead or lead-lined walls or obstructions (even her heat vision has no effect on lead). Lead acts basically as a nullifier that can negate her vision powers.
  • Magic: Power Girl is vulnerable to magic and magic systems. Kara's Kryptonian biology is open to certain radiations, particularly magical energies whose chaotic electromagnetic or extra-dimensional signatures disrupt her body's stability. Power Girl's vulnerability to magic varies on the special effects of the magic. She can be injured and worn down by magical entities. Magic can have powerful and unpredictable effects and her magical enemies have often proven to be the most dangerous.
  • Psionics: Kara is as vulnerable to psionic attacks as a normal human being. She is subject to mental domination attacks against her. Those whose mental powers are superior to her own have been able to render her unconscious or disrupt her natural thought processes.
  • Kryptonite: Since the destruction of Krypton, its remains (rendered radioactive by the explosion) have been spreading throughout the universe as Kryptonite, a crystalline substance whose specific radiation is lethal to Kryptonians. The known variations of kryptonite affect Kara in different ways. Fortunately, for external exposure, Kara can protect herself from kryptonite using lead, and removal of the substance reverses the effects almost immediately. If kryptonite gets into her system, Kara's body forces it out via perspiration.
    • Green kryptonite is Kara's most severe and dangerous vulnerability. Green kryptonite in any size or form renders Kara powerless and painfully incapacitated; she once remarked that broken ribs hurt less than green kryptonite exposure. When Kara is exposed to green kryptonite, her veins become dark and prominent, she sweats profusely, her vision blurs, and she clutches her stomach as if nauseated; it is shown that her blood literally appears to boil. She can barely stay on her feet and usually collapses to the ground in agony. Prolonged exposure renders her unconscious and would probably kill her. Kara can draw blood or bruise while in the presence of green kryptonite.
    • Yellow kryptonite has the same effect as Scarecrow's fear toxin has on normal humans, as when she is exposed to it she experiences her greatest fears as long as she is touching it or in its presence.
    • Red kryptonite makes Kara lose her inhibitions and social conscience. Similar to the effects of alcohol, Kara becomes Karrie, who is unpredictable and belligerent. While on red kryptonite, Kara is also sexually aggressive, flirtatious, and unconcerned with keeping her abilities a secret. She is disrespectful, uncaring of others' feelings, and can become violently dangerous. Kara also rarely swears unless under the influence of red kryptonite.
    • Blue kryptonite strips Kara of her powers, but not painfully so like green kryptonite; simply coming in contact with blue kryptonite appears to merely shut her powers down until she is no longer touching it or in its presence.
    • Black kryptonite can separate or combine Kara from/with her evil Kryptonian personality. It can physically split her into her good and evil personas.
    • Silver kryptonite makes Kara extremely paranoid and suspicious of those around her. Silver kryptonite's effects on Kara are similar to those of hallucinogenic drugs. Her behavior becomes erratic, and she suffers extremely vivid visual and auditory hallucinations, such as perceiving balance sheets as bills. In addition, Kara manifests physical symptoms such as sweating, labored breathing, and puffy, dilated eyes, although her powers are unaffected.

  • Solar Energy: Power Girl requires solar energy to function at peak capacity, or her powers fade to greatly reduced levels, some disappearing entirely if her solar reserves are empty. Power Girl cannot absorb energy from the lower frequency orange O-class stars and cannot process the higher-frequency White K or blue F classes. Blue B and yellow G type stars are ideal. When her solar energy is depleted, her resistance to physical punishment drops to approximately one-quarter the normal amount. Withstanding large amounts of damage continuously over time will rapidly deplete her solar reserves. Further, the radiation signature of the red sun of the Krypton system (and similar M-class stars) instantly causes the ribosomal structures to lose their stored energy, reducing a Kryptonian to normal humanoid levels almost instantaneously.

Skills:
  • Intelligent: Kara has shown enhanced memorization, intelligence and computational abilities; her mind works sharply and with extreme speed. Kara, who lived on Argo City for her youth learned much about science and technology. By her own admission, she was always the 'geek girl' at her old school, complete with glasses and braces, often being bullied by the more popular girls there. She excels in the subjects of Physics and Chemistry, being a member of the Kryptonian Junior Science Council - a sub of the ruling body of Krypton.

  • Innovative: Kara is also artistic and was once approached by the head of the Art Council who wanted to mentor Kara just like he did with her father.

  • Polyglot: She speaks a multitude of languages fluently. She learned all of Earth's languages in less then a month. She also speaks interlac. She is also fluent in Kryptonese. Plus, through precise muscle control, she can mimic other peoples voices.

  • Hand-to-Hand Combat: She has trained with the Amazons, on Themyscira, in combat and sword fighting. She has trained with Wonder Woman and Artemis extensively and knows Klukor (Kryptonian Martial Arts), one of the few people on Earth who do. While under Darkseid's mind control she was made a Female Fury and presumably trained with them. She has held her own against the likes of Darkseid and actually is the second of two people to have dodged his Omega Beams (the first being Batman) and redirected them right back at Darkseid, a feat not even Batman can boast about.

  • Other Skills: She can dance extremely well, as being a member of the elite House of El she had to learn the Kryptonese ways of dancing in functions such as balls or society parties. On Earth, too she has learned many popular forms of dance, including Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Modern, Contra Dance (yes, Clark took her to his high school reunion in Smallville) and Latin Dance. She also has great taste in, and addiction to, shopping.

Equipment:
Power Girl has mini-Fortresses of Solitude all over the world where she can stay or visit when she's alone.

Habits/Quirks:
-constant fixing of her hair
-biting her nails
-humming to herself
-accidentally breaking things
-weight-lifting a couch when bored

Personality:
Kara's personality is directly linked to her background. Being the last Kryptonian in existence and one of the last real Kryptonians, she misses her family and friends dearly; much more so than Superman ever could. Obviously, this is because Superman for the early years of his life thought himself to be human and never really saw himself as anything more. He grew up with human parents and human friends, human high school, human habits, human traits and a human life. Kara is the complete opposite. She was born a Kryptonian, grew up Kryptonian, spoke Kryptonian, ate Kryptonian, breathed Kryptonian, played Kryptonian, and generally, was Kryptonian. Then, she was thrown out into a completely new, multicultural planet like earth, learned that she had missed thirty years of her life and had powers that could destroy a building with a sneeze.

As a result, Kara is generally insecure. Generally, Kara opts to think carefully before acting. She is quiet and is more into showing how she feels about someone then discussing it when she doesn’t know the person. However, when she does know a person, she is a chatter box, as can be seen whenever she's around Superman. She loves to talk with people she knows and tells them, often, that she cares about them. Despite being very open, she hides her emotions well. She has, in fact, had crushes, but never acts on them, beyond hanging around them a little more then usual. She is a very honest person and worries constantly about the people she considers her family… which is all of her friends, the few they are.

She doesn't know how to cope with her incredible powers (fickle though they may be), when she does manage to muster enough self-confidence, she can be surprisingly competent. She has, over the couple years she's been on earth, learned to accept the place as a home even though in her heart it can never replace Krypton. She's also learned to "pull her punches" so that she doesn't kill someone, to the extent that its actually become a weakness on her part. Since she's already lost one home, thus, her motivation lies in the fact that she is unwilling to lose another one and is ready to defend it at all costs, even more so than other heroes. Thus she adopts as an apparently violent attitude towards villains and evil aligned people in general. This, despite her insecurities, makes her as a 'no-nonsense, kick ass and takes no guff from anyone' kind of girl to people who don't truly understand or know her.

This apparently violent nature is merely just a wall to keep others from getting too close. Most nowadays she's been actually rather lonely and bottled up. Her frustrations with her life began a short while ago, and ever since then she's hidden behind a mask of 'Power Girl'. The reality of this girl is that mask is just a disguise for the emotional barriers she keeps up all around her, unwilling to let anyone get too close to her heart. The only people she'd let through was her cousin. She keeps up a facade of a tough girl who seems to be able to do everything. The truth is that she couldn't be more uncertain of herself.

===PERSONAL BACKGROUND===

Family:
House of El, Lana Lang (adoptive aunt)
Place of Origin:
Argo City, Krypton
History:
Kara Zor-El is the daughter of Superman's uncle Zor-El and his wife Alura. Kara is actually older than Kal-El (Superman); she was a teenager when he was a baby. When Krypton was attacked by Brainiac, he took Kandor with him, while Kara and her parents remained in Argo. After Brainiac's attack, her father created a force-field around Argo using a Brainiac Probe. When Brainiac came to consume Argo City, her parents had no choice but to send her in a rocket headed for Earth. However, her rocket was caught in a large kryptonite-encrusted meteor shower and she got stuck in Krypton's orbit.

Kara arrives on Earth.

Weeks after the events that led to Lex Luthor's arrest, the impeachment of his presidency, and Batman's success in saving the world from the impact of an arriving meteor, a spaceship landed in Gotham City Harbor and a young girl with no knowledge of English or any other human languages emerged. Upon arrival, she accidentally caused all sorts of havoc with her Kryptonian-like powers until the Dark Knight caught her with a piece of Kryptonite from the ship. With Superman's help, they discovered that the girl was Kara Zor-El, the niece of Jor-El and Superman/Kal-El's biological cousin. While Superman welcomed Kara with open arms and taught her English and how to behave in society, Batman remained suspicious.

Superman: Her name is Kara Zor-El, from Krypton. She's my cousin.
Batman: Your cousin just torched $50,000 worth of custom hardware.
Superman: Send me the bill.
Batman: On a reporter's salary, right.
Tipped off by Batman, Wonder Woman and a group of Amazons ambushed Clark Kent and Kara in a park and took Kara to Themyscira, on the basis that only there can she learn to control her powers. Superman reluctantly agreed, but still preferred to watch over Kara himself. Elsewhere, on the planet Apokolips, Darkseid learnt of Kara's presence on Earth, and ordered her to be captured and brought to Apokolips as a possible candidate to lead the Female Furies since the departure of Big Barda.

Whilst Batman and Superman were checking on Kara on Themyscira, a horde of Doomsday clones appeared from Apokolips. Superman, Wonder Woman and the Amazonian army fought them for a while until Superman vaporized all of them with a single blast of his heat vision, but Batman discovered that Kara was missing, and her friend Lyla who was with her had been killed by Darkseid's Omega Beams while trying to prevent her abduction. Distraught, Superman vows revenge.

Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman located and recruited Barda to help them through their way on Apokolips. Once there, Superman tore his way to Darkseid's palace while Wonder Woman and Barda went through the sewers directly into the fighting arena, where they were ambushed by Granny Goodness and the Female Furies. After a long fight, Granny and the Furies were subdued. Batman, meanwhile, made his way underground and found the Hell Spores, the source of the fire pits on Apokolips, and activated them.

Superman encountered Darkseid, who set the brainwashed Kara on him. Kara pummels Superman around while Darkseid watched, until Batman confronted Darkseid and informs him that he has activated the Hell Spores, all of which will destroy Apokolips. He issued Darkseid an ultimatum: free Kara and promise to leave her alone, and Batman will deactivate the Spores. Intrigued, Darkseid admitted his admiration for Batman's tactics. Acknowledging that neither Superman nor Wonder Woman had the "strength of character" to destroy an entire planet, Darkseid relented. Superman managed to defeat Kara, and Barda and Wonder Woman presented Darkseid with the subdued Granny. Defeated, Darkseid allowed them to leave Apokolips.

With their lives normal again, Clark decided to take Kara to meet his adoptive parents in Smallville. However, they were ambushed by Darkseid, who was waiting to kill Superman: he had promised to leave Kara alone, but not Superman or Earth. After a lengthy battle, in which Darkseid beat Superman and Kara severely (though not before Kara pounded him quite the bit, Superman gained the upper hand and pummeled Darkseid. As Darkseid grabbed Superman and began torturing him with his Omega Beam, Kara used Darkseid's motherbox to activate a Boom Tube, which Superman pushed Darkseid through. While Superman anticipated Darkseid's eventual return from Apokolips, Kara informed him that she changed the coordinates to a random spot in space, leaving Darkseid floating around, frozen in ice.

Having saved her cousin's life and found her place on Earth, Kara decided to use her powers to fight for altruism under the alias of Supergirl. She was met with applause by Wonder Woman, the Amazons, and finally, Batman. Superman and Supergirl then flew off to Metropolis.

"I don't believe it! A Super... girl?" - Jimmy Olsen
Still, on subsequent missions, she realized just how much less motivated she was becoming. She did not enjoy being Supergirl as much as she thought she would; she became tired of being Superman's sidekick and his (increasingly so after the Darkseid incident, despite his earnest trying otherwise) overprotective nature and thus decided to take the gamble and leave. Superman was apprehensive, believing that she was not old or trained enough to be going out and handling things on her own. What had happened between Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson occurred and Kara 'ran away'. Its not like her baby cousin could force her, after all.

"The first time I made this costume, I wanted to have a symbol, like you. I just…I couldn’t think of anything. I thought eventually, I’d figure it out. And close the hole. But I haven’t." - Kara Zor-El to Kal-El
Deciding that she was done with just being super and a girl, Kara discarded the alias in its entirety and taking upon a new, purely white and simple costume and cutting her hair short, she adopted the alias Power Girl and moved to Jump City, where she would eventually meet up with the Teen Titans, hoping to join their ranks and make herself a name so that there's something other than an S-shield plastered on a pair of breasts that would make people buy her book over someone else's.
