Counter Force - While activated, any force applied on her is met with the exact same force to cancel it out. A yellow aura that surrounds her body is what indicates that this ability is active.
Sub: Friction Shift - While activated, she can alter friction in the area from the point of contact up to a 2 meter radius. This can be applied partially and used at the same time as other auras but the effects do not overlap. A red aura indicates where this is active.
Sub: Aura Coat - She can apply her aura to any object she is in contact with up to the size of a sedan. When separated from the object, the effects of the aura will persist for 10 seconds before dissipating or she consciously cancels it.

Counter Spell - While activated, any magical attack or effect that hits her is rebounded on the caster/user. A bluish aura that surrounds her body is what indicates that this ability is active.
Sub: Aura Coat - She can apply her aura to any object she is in contact with up to the size of a sedan. When separated from the object, the effects of the aura will persist for 10 seconds before dissipating or she consciously cancels it.

Sixth Sense - She can accurately interpret and identify the nature of an attack for as long as she is aware of it. She can also sense hostile intentions directed at her within 50 meters.
Sub: Enhanced Reflexes - Thanks to her Sixth Sense and honed combat skills, she possesses reaction times above that of an average human. This allows her to fight on par with master-level combatants defensively.

- Proficient in martial arts, swordsmanship, marksmanship and firearms handling
- Experienced in free running and acrobatics
- Skilled lock-picker, safe-cracker and code-breaker

- She is only human while powers are not activated.
- She must be conscious to activate her auras.
- Only one aura can be active at a time except for Friction Shift.
- When using Aura Coat, she cannot use any auras on herself while an object separate from her has the coating active on it.
- Her small build and human-level physical strength makes her susceptible to binding and grappling as viable means of incapacitating her.
- She does not possess auras that protect against non-magical attacks and attacks that don't rely on force.
- While her equipment are water-resistant to a reasonable extent, submerging or completely soaking her shock stick and explosives, will render them useless or ineffective.

Weighted Boots - To make up for her average strength, the soles of her boots are layered and reinforced with a sturdy material to add more power behind her kicks. A serious blow can inflict enough force to fracture bones.
Expandable Shock Stick - Her expandable baton is now a shock stick but it is not obvious from its appearance. She uses it in conjunction with her aura to make up for the minor loss in durability. Shocks on par with a stun gun are delivered on contact by squeezing the grip in a certain way.
Line Launchers - The mechanisms for her line launchers are fitted on her forearms normally hidden underneath her jacket. They come in spike, hook or magnetic tips depending on what she needs them to latch on to. The line itself is made of a synthetic material with tensile strength on par with steel.
Fireproof Jacket - Her jacket is fireproof and heat resistant, providing ample protection when needing to enter burning buildings or guarding against fire in general.
Non-lethal Explosives - She carries two apiece of flash grenades and smoke bombs at all times.
Air Filter Scarf - Her scarf is specially woven such that it can serve as an effective gas mask when used to cover her face.


Personality: Reese can be described as level-headed and composed. She knows when to be serious and when to be mellow. While on the outside she seems outgoing enough, she actually chooses who she associates with and is careful about getting too close to people. It's a somewhat misguided sense of kindness, owing to the fact that she will often get involved in dangerous circumstances.

She does her best not to worry others and so for this reason she doesn't totally shut people out. She has mastered the skill of telling people only what they need to know, when they need to know it. Despite the "control" she seems to exert on her personal relationships, she always tries to give the impression that she is someone to be trusted rather than doubted.

It helps that she is one of the most accommodating and reliable people around.

Family Members: Joe Mitchell (Uncle)
Place of Origin: Jump City
History: Reese Mitchell was born and raised in Jump City. Orphaned at a young age, she was taken in by her Uncle Joe after losing both her parents in an unfortunate accident. The girl was barely two years old then and so she didn't have many memories of them. Time passed, and she only recognized them as faces in photographs. Uncle Joe would be her father figure and role model in the years that followed.

Joe Mitchell owned a small pub in the business district of Jump. He was already a bartender running the place even before he took in Reese. The well-built barman however had his own colorful history. He was a retired mercenary who had been fighting all over the world most of his life. When the young Reese began to show signs of possessing powers, he took it upon himself to train her, thinking that she would need to learn to defend herself. The discipline from her training would also help her get used to her powers and allow her to master them. While Joe wasn't a metahuman, he was experienced in dealing with their kind from his previous work.

Reese herself was no slouch. She was athletically gifted and under Joe's stern guidance, her latent abilities were honed. By age 13, Joe had left her to her own devices when it came to using her skills and gifts. Before that time, she was only allowed to use them in training or in matters of life and death. Her new found freedom didn't change much though. She had a strong sense of responsibility and it had been drilled into her head how to use her powers appropriately. She often stepped into problems anyway, but it was a little easier to handle them this time. From stopping bar brawls to saving cats stuck in trees, she had begun to subtly make a name for herself as the hero Maverique.
