Lefray fixed his collar, nervously. This gold and red ceremonial robe was the closest thing he had found to a tuxedo. It had cost him most of the gold he had saved up to this point, but he wanted to look good. This was his wedding, after all.

He was nervous, not that Phoenix wouldn't show, nor that she would suddenly change her mind. They had both agreed to this, and Lefray believed in his soon-to-be bride's resolution. He was just nervous because...well, that's how you felt at a wedding. His life, both of their lives, were about to change. After being stuck in a video game of death, however, Lefray had grown rather used to change.

Lefray didn't really have any friends to attend this ceremony, though Phoenix knew a few people. If it wasn't for her friends already here, it would have been a very small gathering indeed.

The priest of this temple was an NPC who usually sold potions, but he also offered the service of "marrying" PC's. In a game world, that probably didn't mean much to most people, but Lefray and Phoenix were living here. They were really here, so in his mind, this ceremony was real.

The door opened, and Lefray jumped, turning to see who he hoped would be Phoenix.

Phoenix was behind the doors taking steady deep breaths. Even though this was a game, she was living in it, this was her world. Pheonix had to enjoy this in any way she could, so she was going to marry Leejay, the man she fell in love with.
Phoenix took a deep breath and the doors opened. Phoenix then began to walk down the isle, hoping for the best. She noticed her few friends that came, and smiled. She pushed back a piece of hair and made eye contact with Leejay.

Spoiler:

Phoenix finally made it to the alter when she turned to look at her soon to be husband and smiled.

The sight of Phoenix in her wedding dress took Lefray's breath away. She was stunningly beautiful. As she got close to the alter she locked eyes with him. Lefray almost had a heart attack. She was so perfect, and he knew that he had done nothing to deserve a woman like her.

But that, he decided, was love: giving to the undeserving. Lefray was grateful for her love, and he promised himself that he would do everything he could to return the favor, to love her more than she could ever deserve. She had been risking her life everyday, so he would spoil her each and every day they were both still alive.

And maybe one day, they could even make it out of here.

Lefray smiled warmly at Phoenix, and reached out to hold her hands. Turning, he nodded at the NPC priest. It seemed wrong to have a computer marry them, but who else could perform such a ceremony in a virtual world?

The priest began a poetic speech about the magical lore about the game, somehow managing to barely tie it in to marriage. Lefray didn't hear a word of it. He was too focused on "Leejay Lefray," the priest said at last. "You may now give your own vows." Lefray had chosen to not use the generic, lore-filled vows that were available. He didn't feel like they would hold much meaning. Instead, he had attempted to make his own. Hopefully, Phoenix would like them.

"Phebe, I Richard take you to be my wife. I will love you, care for you, and cherish you for all of my days. This is more than a relationship in a virtual world. I hereby commitment myself entirely to you. Getting stuck in Sword Art Online was the best thing that ever happened to me. Because of this world, I met you. And now I promise you that I will do everything I can to free you from this world, so that we can meet each other in real life."

Phoenix gladly took Leejay's hands and smiled. The NPC Priest went on and on about something about the Sword Art Online game, but she really couldn't focus. All Phoenix could do was stare into Leejay;s virtual eyes and sigh out of wonder. She was so lucky to have met Leejay, he always gave up things for her and cared for her more than anyone she knew. True love was something more then kisses and gifts, it was being able to sacrifice yourself for your loved one, and in this game, that means a lot more then it ever did in the real world.

Phoenix came back to her senses when the NPC priest said Leejay's name. Phoenix pushed back a piece of hair, and listened to his words.
Phoenix was practically entranced, she's never been in love before, she's never been willing to give up everything for one person, but here he was, and he felt the same.
Once Leejay was done, Phoenix smiled at him, falling more in love with him every second. The priest turned to Phoenix. "You may now give your vows."

Phoenix looked Leejay in the eye and took a deep breath. "Richard, I Phebe Moskar will take you to be my husband. I promise I will love you through all trials, battles, phases of our life. Because of you, I learned how to be selfless and how to love. You are the reason I keep on going in this game and I promise, we will get out together." Phoenix finished, smiling.

It was like a dream, Lefray thought. The vows that Phoebe made to him were genuine and touched his heart. Only a few weeks ago, he might have said that he didn't have a heart. But now he knew the truth.

She was his heart.

Lefray couldn't smile wide enough as Phoenix finished her vows. The jolly NPC priest nodded. "By the power of the goddess, I hereby pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Lefray reached up and gently placed his fingers behind Phoenix's neck. Looking her in the eyes, he leaned in to kiss her lips. He had never kissed anyone before, and would probably be considered bad at it. He could only hope to express the love he felt for this perfect woman in spite of his inexperience.

Lefray pulled back after a moment. "I never got to say how beautiful you look. I don't know the words to describe it. I love you so much."

OOC: Whoop! Finally am able to use my moms laptop again! I wont try to disappear anymore!!

IC:
As Phoenix finished her vows, the priest said the magic words with a jolly smile. Right after that, Lefray placed his fingers behind Phoenix's neck and pulled her in for the kiss that would bind them as one. Phoenix finally leaned in after taking a deep breath, and kissed the love of her life. After a few moments, Lefray pulled back, but Phoenix was still in awe about how good of a kisser he was. She's only kissed a handful of boys, but this was nothing like before, maybe it was love that made this so much more perfect.

Lefray complimented her which made Phoenix grin. "You look just as handsome! This must have cost you a fortune! You shouldn't have spent that much money, it's only for one day silly." Phoenix told him with a giggle, but she couldn't but help smile, he went spent a lot of money on one outfit for today. Just the thought made this moment all the better. Phoenix took another deep breath, there wasn't many people here, but just the thought that she was getting married made her a bit whoozy, even though it wasn't technically real. It also somewhat saddened her knowing her actual family wasn't here, but soon Lefray and Phoenix would break out of this game and everything will be perfect!

"Richard, I really do love you. Vows aside, you mean the world to me. Both real and virtual." Phoenix said finally, not able to stop viewing her handsome husband.

Lefray was in paradise right now. His words really had been true. Coming to Sword Art Online had been the best thing that had ever happen to him. He felt like he was radiating happiness. It was an odd sensation, but one that he didn't mind. He never wanted to leave Phoenix's side.

She said that he looked handsome in his outfit, but that he shouldn't have spent so much for a one-day article of clothing. Lefray shook his head. "You're right, but this isn't about one day. I've hardly spent any of my money in this world. There has never been anything I wanted, until now. I want you, and I want to be the very best husband I can possibly be. That's what this outfit symbolizes to me. The clothes don't make the man, but they can remind me of the person I want to be, the man who deserves an angel like you."

Phoenix said that she really loved him, both in-game and in real life. There was nothing that could make him happier.

The NPC Priest said some finishing words, but Lefray didn't pay them much attention. He was going on about the in-game lore again. Before the priest was even done speaking, Lefray offered his arm to his new bride. "Shall we go? I have a house in the Town of Beginnings, unless there's somewhere else you'd rather go."

Phoenix simply giggled, blocking out all the other noises around her (Aka the preacher). Phoenix was honestly very humbled by all of Lefray's words. Ever since the first time they met, the only things he said to her were positive things. He was the perfect man, he made this crummy world perfect. They were going to get out of this world together, and everything will be perfect.

After Phoenix had her moment of bliss, Lefray asked her a question. Phoenix took his arm and smiled. "I would live in a dirt hut if it means living with you." Phoenix told him while pushing back a strand of hair.
Phoenix grabbed the side of her dress, so she could walk, and then made her way down the isle with her new husband. The two opened the church doors and stood outside of Floor 3. Phoenix opened her menu and pulled out her teleportation crystal. "Are you ready?" Phoenix asked him, holding up her crystal towards her face. "Town Of Beginnings." Phoenix told the crystal.

Just like that, both players were now in the Town Of Beginnings. "Now, my husband, where is that lovely house of yours?" Phoenix asked teasingly.

A dirt hut? Lefray chuckled. His modest home on Floor 1 was certainly better than that. He was glad that Phoenix wasn't obsessed with superficial things or comforts. It gave him less pressure to make them rich. "Don't worry, it won't come to that. I'll make sure you're happy. It's okay to have fun things sometimes."

The Town of Beginnings seemed even more peaceful now that Lefray was walking through it with his bride on his arm. For a moment, he didn't want to leave this virtual paradise. He gave directions through the town until they came to a small house. It was built of red brick and had a chimney on top. Lefray opened up his menu and selected the house key. A moment later, it appeared in his hand and he unlocked the door.

Before Phoenix could react, Lefray scooped her up in his arms and carried her over the threshold. A man only got one chance to do that in his lifetime. "Welcome home, my beautiful wife."

A candle-lit table held a variety of fruits not found in the real world, some basic bread, and a dark black beverage that surprisingly tasted like apple juice. Lefray grinned sheepishly as he set Phoenix back on her feet. "My cooking skill level isn't that high." He lifted the cover off a serving tray to reveal some basic 'cooked boar meat.' "I wonder, can vegetarians eat virtual meat? Maybe they wouldn't want to."

Lefray pulled a chair out for Phoenix before sitting down himself. He looked at the virtual food, but didn't take any. He wasn't hungry, even though he hadn't eaten anything all day. His mind was occupied with other things.

As the two walked through The Town of Beginnings, Phoenix just couldn't stop smiling. She was sure every girl dreamed of this moment. The moment where they finally went home with their new husband in their new home. But in this game, it was more than that. It was being with someone that you cared for so much you would protect with your life, you would give up everything for someone, it was so much more.

Just when they arrived at Lefray's house, Lefray got his house key out of his inventory and was about to open the door when he scooped Phoenix up and took her in. Phoenix couldn't stop laughing "Oh my. Aren't you the romantic!?" Phoenix said between her laughter.
When Lefray finally set Phoenix back on her feet, he revealed a lovely meal for the two.
Phoenix smiled brightly while sitting down, she hasn't had a cooked meal like this since she joined this game! "It's perfect." Phoenix told him, shoving her fork into the meat. "I haven't a cooked meal like this since the day before this game started." Phoenix told him with a soft smile, memories flooding her. "I've only been able to make rice balls and have mediocre food at little restaurants." Phoenix told him, taking her first bite.
"This is great!" Phoneix told him with a goofy grin. She then tried the black liquid in front of her. "This taste just like apple juice!" Phoenix said in shock, still smiling.

Lefray chuckled at Phoenix's outburst. It a world as strange and alien as Sword Art Online, it was always a surprise to find something that mirrored reality. There were certainly times when Lefray missed being able to experience life in the real world. He had never really appreciated the life he'd been given until he had been stuck in here.

Lefray was glad that his meager cooking skills and heartfelt effort had been enough to impress. They could always choose to only eat the bare essentials needed to keep the "hunger" debuff off of their stats, but Lefray didn't want to live that way. They had to have special times like this, to remind them what they were fighting for. They were fighting for their lives, and it would be a shame to not live that life to the fullest while one still had it.

In spite of all these thoughts, Lefray still wasn't hungry. He took a few bites of bread before standing up and walking behind Phoenix. He ran her long, red hair through his hands, and then hugged her around the shoulders. These weren't their real bodies, but right now they were as real as possible. Lefray kissed his bride on the neck.

"Do you...dance?" They didn't have any music available, unless Phoenix had a secret item in her inventory. Now that they were married, they could technically access each others' inventory, but Lefray thought it better not to look.

Phoenix swallowed her food, looking at her plate and realizing that even though it felt like she ate a lot, she only had half of the plate gone. Phoenix watched as Lefray got up to do something, she watched him out of the corner of her eye, but took another sip o apple juice.
When Phoenix set her glass down, her eyes snapped open when she was hugged from behind. All of her time in SAO was screaming attacker, but for the first time in a long time, she didn't have to worry about that.

Lefray kissed her neck and asked her if she danced. Phoenix smiled gently and stood up, taking his hand and leading him towards a part of the room that didn't have furniture in the way. "I haven't slow danced since I was very young, but I can try." She told him with a smile. The only time she danced was at special occasions, and it was usually an old Russian folk dace. It would probably be to weird for Lefray to learn, so bringing it up would not be the best idea right now.

Phoenix placed Lefray's hand on her hip, and took his other hand in hers. "Is this how you do it?" Phoenix asked him, blushing.

Lefray kept his hand loose at first when Phoenix placed it on her hip. He wasn't the most experienced of dancers, either. He had usually been too shy or embarrassed to dance with a girl. But Phoenix wasn't here to judge him. She loved him. She belonged to him.

Lefray held her firm but gentle, and pulled her close. She asked if she was doing a good job at dancing. He could see in her eyes that she was looking for assurance, for praise. "You're doing great," Lefray said as he led the dance. "You're a natural." He chuckled a bit. "There's no need to be nervous about dancing. We've already kissed, remember?"

When he had hugged her from behind, he had noticed her reaction. It was only natural to be paranoid when you were in a death game. At this point, Lefray was convinced that she fully loved him. He was also convinced, however, that she had defenses and reflexes that had kept her alive for so long in this world. It was going to be difficult for her to be intimate with anybody while those defenses were still up.

He leaned in close. "I know it's hard to let your guard down. We can take things slow, just like this dance. Right now, I'm just glad that you've put up with my selfishness."

After they started going slow, Phoenix calmed down a bit. Being intimate in this game meant so much more, especially if you're not in a safe zone.
Lefray giving her reassuring words when he said he was being selfish. Phoenix's eyes shot open, but instead of being her normal fire like self, she put her head on his chest and sighed. "You are the least selfish person I know. You are kind, gentle, loving, but can kick butt on the battle field. You are not perfect, no one is, but I love every part of you. Your strengths and weaknesses make you who you are and I couldn't ask for any greater man." Phoenix told him, smiling.

She meant every word she just said. Even though she was still slightly shocked at the fact that Lefray thought he was selfish. He was the most wonderful man, and she can't wait for them to be reunited in the outside world.
He is the reason she will fight.
