thePowers.
Arachnikid’s physical prowess is that of being superior to your standard human, as he possesses the physical presence of a spider of his size. Arachnikid is also very strong indeed, able to punch through walls, and similar surfaces. In terms of what he can lift, that would have to be around seven to eight tonnes in weight, anything more and he would have trouble, struggling to lift anything heavier - maybe just able to do so for a few seconds if he put enough effort and energy into it. Arachnikid can take damage as much as he can deal it out as well. He’s not invincible, but he can last longer than most would. This is often an annoyance as well as a surprise to his enemies, as from a physical stand point he looks as though a fly could knock him out for the count of ten. Arachnikid is also quicker, more agile on his feet. His top speed would be around forty to forty five miles per hour. But he may only reach such speeds if he is heading in one direction, with little obstruction in his way. His speed normally, (E.G. ducking and moving) isn’t nearly as fast, but is surely that of a top athlete.

Arachnikid’s reflexes are enhanced; fifteen times that of a normal human, further aided by his danger intuition. This allows him to react quickly to physical attacks, as well as ones from afar like gun fire, or rockets etc. The fact that he is flexible assists this too, making for some rather awe inspiring dodges, ones you won’t necessarily see every day. Arachnikid is also very flexible too, another attribute that helps with his reactions. The connective tissues within his body are around three times that of a normal human being, enabling him to do impressive feats of acrobatic skill, that which plays into his unusual style of fighting. Being so nimble and fleet footed, it’s only natural to assume that Arachnikid has better balance than most. He does, able to walk along the smallest, thinnest of objects/structures and so forth without any reluctance at all, fully confident in being able to do so. His learning of acrobatics helped this further, enabling to add that into his way of movement. Being stronger than most, means he has more strength in his legs, thus allowing for Arachnikid to jump higher than most. He can’t leap over a building, but he can clear anything 8 foot high with relative ease. He’s also able to land these jumps rather comfortable too, as long as there is no interference with the surface he is landing on.

Arachnikid has an extrasensory sense of danger that warns him of potential immediate danger. He is alerted via a small tingling sensation in his joints, the closest to the danger (e.g. his arm if a bullet is fired towards his shoulder). It’s a survival tactic, linked into his enhanced kinaesthetics, allowing him to think fast and act before he can suffer an injury. This sense can’t alert him to what the danger is, or the velocity; only the direction. It only works with attacks registered; attacks that he has seen of felt before. Any new attacking attempt will be unknown to this sense, leaving Arachnikid to fend for himself - a real problem if confronted with a new foe that doesn’t fight like your typical villain.

Through manipulation of the inter-atomic binding forces of matter; Arachnikid is able to form temporary relationships between a surface and himself. This essentially means that he can stick onto any surface, allowing him to hide on the ceiling, or climb up a wall. He can even create this temporary bond between himself and an object, making it difficult for someone to pry a weapon or object from his grasp. This can also be reversed, allowing for Arachnikid to seamlessly repel off surfaces and the like with ease, helping to add a little extra power to his jumps at an increased speed.

theSkills.
[ Unarmed Combat ]
The extent of Arachnikid’s knowledge in various disciplines stretches only as far as the time he himself has invested into it. Arachnikid is by no means a master of unarmed combat, or all that confident in fighting in a particular style. But he has his own style that he’s developed, utilizing his spider like movement and web capabilities for some creative, fluent unarmed combat. He’s good enough to put up some sort of a fight against anyone, that’s the important thing.
[ Acrobatics ]
Due to Arachnikid’s great body strength, as well as his incredible equilibrium; Arachnikid has developed into quite the gymnast; excelling in all gymnastic fields. The way his unique physiology is, it allows Arachnikid to twist, turn, and flex into all sorts of shapes; very awe inspiring indeed.
[ Stealth ]
Arachnikid is incredibly fleet footed, his movement often fast, fluid. He’s extremely quiet as well, making as little noise as possible. Being that he can also stick upside down as well, Arachnikid is quite good at getting into places where he shouldn’t otherwise be. Though making a quick exit is not his forte.
[ Science & Engineering ]
Through all the education that Alex has received, his two main areas of interest have been Science and Engineering. He has a keen thirst for knowledge in the two areas, investing some of his own time as well to learn more and more. With his father having designed and created both the webbing and gauntlets Alex uses. The interest into these two areas peaked, as Alex knew he himself would need to learn the processes his father went through in creating both. So far Alex has been able to replicate the webbing following a formulae gifted to him by his father. As for his gauntlets, well. Alex is in the middle of creating his first prototype of them - hopefully he doesn't need a spare anytime soon.

theEquipment.
[ Web Gauntlets ]
Arachnikid's gauntlets were created by his father. The gauntlets store and dispense webbing (Like a gun). The gauntlets themselves hold several cartridges of webbing, and fires the webbing at a speed of 30mph. Whilst Alex didn't create the gauntlets himself, he has spent a large amount of time learning and understanding what his father had created; now able to create the gauntlets himself if he ever needs to.
[ Webbing ]
A strong and durable line of webbing, that sticks to surfaces just as well as Arachnikid can. The webbing can’t be torn apart easily, or burnt as it is strong enough to support anything of 5-7 tons in weight, and can be shot a distance of up to 700 metres. It helps greatly for travelling, allowing Arachnikid to seamlessly swing through the city (As long as there is something to stick the webbing onto), or even to catapult Arachnikid across a great distance by giving him that extra little push (When Arachnikid pulls back at full strength; the catapult will launch him for 500 yards with him rising, before he falls. If he pulls back with lesser strength, the distance decreases. This is not including wind or obstacles; so will usually be lesser than 500 yards), or to assist him in avoiding attacks. The webbing does need to be made, and the only formula for it (As he understands it) is in his possession, written onto a small piece of paper that he keeps inside the left zipped pocket of his hoody.
[ Urban Spidey Suit ]
Arachnikid’s suit is that of a very simple, urban theme. There’s nothing special about it at all (Not including the gauntlets) other than he himself feeling quite comfy wearing it. The Hoody has zipped pockets, and his gauntlets are custom made – not the most extravagant super hero costume, but fit for purpose.
[ Goggles ]
His Goggles are purely to cover his eyes, to help him see clearly as he moves through the air, so he doesn’t flinch whilst going against the wind. They’re also a bit of a style choice, if you can call them ‘stylish’ that is.

theWeaknesses.
[ Sense Disruption ]
Any form of drugs (Vertigo etc.) that can alter his balance, reactions, sight or put him under mental strain can be used to disrupt the effectiveness of Arachnikid’s “’rachni sense”. Without it he becomes more open to attacks, an easier target to take down. He is also susceptible to threats not registered by the ‘rachni Sense, so can quite easily be caught off guard with or without it.
[ Human ]
Arachnikid is just human after all, and while he can take an ass kicking he is still very prone to gunfire, explosions and physical torment. Stabbing him in the chest is much the same as stabbing anyone else, it doesn't look pretty and may not end pretty either.
[ Ranged Combat ]
At least as this very moment in time, Arachnikid has no form of long range attack. He’s a up close, in your face type of fighter; close quarters. But of course, there are better combatants when fighting up close, so he won’t necessarily be the favourite in all fights. With spellcasters and those who fight from range, Arachnikid is left quite open to attack as he must close the distance between himself and his opponent.
[ Lack of Web Gauntlets ]
Arachnikid needs his Web Gauntlets to be able use any web based abilities. With them gone, Arachnikid is forced into a fight he may not be most comfortable with, lacking the usefulness of his web. In a fight, this throws AK off balance for sure.
[ Jester ]
Arachnikid is a jester. He loves to joke around, and sometimes fails to grasp the seriousness of a situation. Tis can land him in a lot of trouble, underestimating his opponents or even taking his time to act, possibly putting others in danger. It’s a problem, one that can only be fixed with time and maturity.

[ Personality ]
Arachnikid is very much a do first, think second kind of guy, he’s one who rushes into doing anything head first. He’s always looking to have a good time however, and that can sometimes come off as him being a bit too immature. He’s a joker, he’ll make jokes to lighten the mood, or make a bad situation not seem so bad. He has no grasp of time or time management, so can often be found running late and thus annoying those around him.

[ History ]
Alex’s history should really begin with his parents. Alex is the son of a Metahuman, his father was known as Arachniman. He had powers just like Alex, more powerful however and able to generate web from his fingertips. He was born in Star City, much like Alex’s mother. The two actually met at High School, Arachniman was an admirer of Kirsten. However, after graduating, Alex’s father would go to live in Dortmund, Germany. Becoming a hero there, fighting the criminal underworld overseas. That is where he met Alex’s mother again. She was a cooking student, and managed to land a job over in Germany. Eventually the two started a relationship, growing to love one another and eventually, the two got married. It wasn’t long after that, that they decided to start a family, and before long Kirsten was pregnant with Alex. Of course, Dortmund wasn’t the place where they pictured starting a family, Arachniman was a wanted man by the criminals of the City, And so, they decided to move back to Star City once Alex was born.

They settled back into life in Star City quite quickly. Arachniman had bought a house on a plot of land, just on the outskirts of town; the ideal place for them. They were visited by Alex’s grandparents (On his mothers side), who were not really fans of the situation as Arachniman had come clean about himself being of meta origins, but reassured them that he wouldn’t allow it to put their daughter at risk. But the grandparents were very ‘anti-mutant’, deeming them more trouble than heroes. Once they had left, they got straight onto the authorities about this Arachniman ordeal. At least they thought so, but it was instead a direct line to Cadmus. They didn’t believe them at first, figuring it was just old people making stuff up, like they do. But Arachniman caught the attention of many, when he put the suit back on, and began dealing with some of, not all, of the criminals in Star City. Cadmus was now interested, beginning to monitor the family; despite only wanting Arachniman. He, had sensed they were being watched, but had no idea why, or by who. So, he put some measures into place, a backup plan if anything did happen to him.

It was a winter Sunday afternoon, in which Cadmus launched an operation to apprehend Arachniman at his home. But he, and his wife, along with Alex; managed to flee the scene, even managing to hide from them for some time. Alas, the couple decided it was wrong of them to bring Alex along on this wild chase away from Cadmus. So, regrettably, they decided to put him into an Orphanage, leaving him there with a box, that was filled with a few things (I’ll get onto that soon). However, when the two stepped out from the Orphanage, they were surrounded by Cadmus hunters. Arachniman gave up, he didn’t want any harm to come to his wife. Cadmus took him prisoner and his wife too, simply to be used as a weakness for Arachniman, to threaten her safety if ever he objects to Cadmus. Needless to say, Alex never saw his parents again.

Alex lived at the Orphanage until he was twelve, as it then got shut down. All he was left with was the box his parents. Inside were a few things; his birth certificate, several photos of his mother and father, and a list of phone numbers, and addresses of relatives. Alex was essentially living on the streets, and decided to track down his Grandparents. They had presumed he was dead, like his mother and father. Though, nobody would know for sure. They allowed Alex to live with them, taking on the roles of mother and father. He was enrolled in a school, where he ran into trouble each and every day. Sometimes his own fault, sometimes not, but he always found himself in trouble. Often he would be the guy, sticking up for the smaller kids against bullies. He’s rather small himself, but he felt the need to help others. Sometimes it worked, sometimes he got his butt kicked. But let us not forget, he is the son of Arachnikid. The Metagenes from his father had indeed been passed down, only showing at the age of fourteen. It was… weird, at first. Small, everyday tasks became a new experience with what he was now able to do. He didn’t understand why he was this strong, or fast, or could climb walls without trouble. But he was glad he could, it was the first good thing to happen to him. Though the problem is, his Grandparents are ‘Anti Mutant’, trouble…

At his grandparents’ house, his father’s room had become his room, nothing had really changed. One day he came home after a long day at school, and just wanted to sleep. He laid down on his bed, about to close his eyes, he noticed something shiny on the ceiling. He leapt up, sticking to the ceiling as he searched for whatever it was; in a small crevice in the ceiling, appeared to be a small flash drive. So of course he got it free and decided to see what was on it. A text file is all, but upon opening it, a set of instructions from his father were revealed. An address was listed, as the place he should go to. Enquiring what this address was, Alex discovered it was the address of his father’s home, a house that he will inherit upon his eighteenth birthday, due to his parents being suspected dead. Alex had his grandfather drive him to an arcade nearby the address, a cover up really. Once his grandfather had gone, Alex made his way towards the address. It was a beautiful place, but… he wasn’t here to admire the place, really. His next instruction took him to his garden, in which he was looking for a le-… Never mind. He tripped over a small, hidden away lever. Upon pulling it, a small portion of the ground moved away, perhaps a metre by metre spot is all. Looking inside, it was total darkness, but he had to enter. Slowly, he would begin to climb down, and as he got below ground, the entrance closed behind him. He crawled his way along a short path, filled with cobwebs, insects and spiders, but eventually dropped down into a big open room. As his feet touched the ground, the lights came up, revealing his father’s base of operations, to one side; two cabinets, to the other; what looked like a piece of machinery on a production line, and in the middle was a circular table. The walls were covered too, by snippets of articles, praising who seemed to be his father; calling him Arachniman. Cobwebs littered the room; the place had been abandoned for at least 12 years. He spent time reading each and every article posted on the wall in amazement. At last, his past wasn’t so cloudy; his ‘powers’ were not a mystery. The next instruction told him to look in the cabinets, one of them labelled with notes that read ‘Love you, from your mother xox’. Inside one, there were various, what appeared to be; costumes- all of the same style, a few varying in sizes, but the same basic design. The other cabinet was labelled like the other, but from his father. Looking inside, he saw gauntlets; close in design to the outfit in the other, and beside the gauntlets on shelves were hundreds, maybe even a thousand small vials of a liquid, accompanied with a set of instructions, and a formulae. This was the webbing his father produced himself, formulated into small cartridges to fit the gauntlets. The production line became so obvious now; it was for when Alex needed more webbing. It processed webbing his father had spun into a liquid form, ejecting the liquid into these cartridges for use. His Dad had spent a lot of time spinning web, as another huge room was dedicated to just webbing that had been spun. This was the backup plan his father had prepared for, so that if he died, or whatever. His son could continue on his legacy by forming his own. Alex took the mantle from his father, calling himself now; Arachnikid. He chose the name for several reasons, the main one being that he didn’t want to call himself Arachniman. He still had hope for his mother and father to show up, one day, taking that name for him would mean giving up hope; that which he was not prepared to do, not yet.

At the age of fifteen, several people from Cadmus had begun showing up; scouting his grandparents’ house, asking questions of them and him. Of course Alex had no idea of who they were, or what they were after. But he got the sense of danger, that something was wrong. One day things got a little too much, Cadmus had an active presence around the house. He managed to sneak out, getting away unnoticed and headed straight for his father’s ‘Rachni Cavern; clearly the place Cadmus were most likely looking for. Alex knew he had to shut it down, however much he may not like that. He spent some time over the next few days, taking the stored webbing and moving it elsewhere, to an undisclosed location. He was seen a few times going in and out the sewers, so perhaps scattered throughout there. His last trip to the Cavern saw him simply cave the place in, destroying everything left in there in the process. It was a tough job, he almost got caved in himself, but thankfully made it out. Though that near death experience was nothing compared to what he found upon returning to the Family Home. His Grandparents house had gone up in flames, engulfed by the fire; result of Cadmus not being told what they wanted. Alex could do nothing to stop it, he tried. He entered the flames in order to find his grandparents, and he did; they were dead. Alex survived the fire, but was then left homeless, with no family and nothing to his name. All he had left was the costume in his backpack, and the webbing cartridges he had hidden. Alex grieved the following few days, it was tough for a fifteen year old, everything. That’s why he put on his costume, complete with the hood up, the goggles on and the balaclava covering his mouth. The only thing Alex had to remind him of the life, however poor that may be, was the mantel of Arachnikid.
