Earthbending
A different form of Terrakinesis. Earthbending cannot be done mentally like most forms of the art and is instead used through physical means, such as punches and kicks. This art is also capable of being used on most forms of metal, due to the residue of earth inside it. Mae can use this ability to sense vibrations in the earth and in metal as well to create a makeshift radar. This radar has a range of 40 feet in all directions and detects all things in direct or extended contact with the earth. As far as limitations go, Mae is able to move about 300 lbs effortlessly with her Earthbending as a maximum speed of 200 feet per second (an arrow moves at 270 fps when fully drawn), a maximum of 2 tons at 70 fps with some strain, and a maximum of 3 tons at 20 fps with extreme strain.

Kung Fu Mastery
Mae is a master of Hung Gar style Kung Fu and as such it is what she uses to Earthbend.

Chi Blocking
Because Mae can only Earthbend by physical ability, if her pressure points are manipulated, her chi is blocked an she cannot use those limbs to Earthbend.

Aerial Enemies
If an enemy is airborne, Mae cannot sense them using her Earthbending an can easily be taken by surprise.

No Contact
If Mae has no contact with bendable items, she cannot Bend. For example if she were on a wooden ship in the ocean she would have no bendables such as rock or metal.

Iron Cables
Mae wears two gauntlets with openings on the front and back of her wrists. Each of these are connected to 20 foot long iron cables. Mae uses these to Metalbend and protect herself under circumstances where she normally wouldn't be able to. These cables can be broken through Metalbending as well as detached.

Mae is very straightforward, much like her fighting style. She has an abiding hatred for the legal system and those who enforce it, driving most everything she does.

History:


Mae was born in a city where meta humans were growing to be a major issue. With a severe lack of Heroes, every meta human seemed to be a villain or nothing at all. Eventually the city passed a law that being a meta human was illegal and began rounding them up to 'cure' each and every one of them through research.

Mae and her mother were both Meta Humans. Both were Earthbenders and were eventually hunted by the city's police force. Eventually the two were captured and placed in a containment area to be cured. Before she was taken away, Maes mother Nina used her own Metalbending to carve a whole just large enough for the then 8 year old Mae to get away with her abilities intact.

Upon Mae's escape, she was immediately tracked to be detained. In her panic, Mae ran away from her mother's prison. She  was too afraid to confront the officers and civilian militia and ran in shame.

Realizing she had nowhere left to go, she left the town and immediately used her Earthbending to create a moving mass of land like her mother had taught her and rode on it as fast as she could manage, terrified of what might be chasing her.

After moving quite a distance and not coming upon civilization, she started to grow hungry and was forced to hunt using her Earthbending, which proved a very simple task. And using Earthbending to grind stones together and make a spark was equally easy, giving her the means for survival.

After 5 years of surviving this way, she made her way toward civilization on and off yet again, managing to find Jump City itself.

Now in the city after surviving alone for so long, Mae was completely unprepared to survive on her own in a city setting and began using her Earthbending abilities to survive for herself in a life of crime.

Yay! Looks good so far, but it still needs a little work to make it sparkle!

- Wonderful construction of Mae's power. The only thing I ask of you is to give a comparison at the end, such as "200fps is slightly slower than an arrow", just so others don't sit there and wonder "What's 200fps??" But other than that it looks fabulous!

- I'd like to see you put something in her Skills section, even if it's "building sand castles". Every section deserves a little something.

- The same applies for both Strengths and Intrerests/Habits. She must have mental strengths after going through such a hard time like that. What's her drive? Is she determined? Loyal? Stuff like that. In Interests... what does she do to pass the time? Does she have a job to pay for anything? Does she steal what she needs?

- And last but not least, I would ask that you spend a little more time with her History. This is a request from me and not necessary for her approval, but you have a wonderful start and I know you have it in you to make it a beautiful finish. Add personal details to it. Tell us how she felt when leaving her mother. Tell us about her journey to Jump and how she made it from the age of 8 all the way until 17. That's a long time for a little girl to be on her own and would shape her so much. Use this opportunity to challenge yourself and have fun! Get stuck inside your characters head and try to see through her eyes. Trust me, it'll make her that much more special to you.
